This turned out to be a semi frustrating event as I was traveling and wanted grab a bite at the airport. The facility was clean and there was not very many people in line as well. I approached the counter to order the Bamboo Bowl with a Teriyaki Twist which is clearly how it was written on the men. However, the clerk kept telling me I had to order the Teriyaki bowl if I wanted the Teriyaki, so I pointed out that I wanted what the menu said and again was referenced to the other bowl at which point I just left. This could have been a training issue or just not in stock however it was never explained to me. So, until the next one. Bye-Bye! read more

One of the worst food service experiences I've had in a loooong time. If the cashier working on Tuesday, February 28 at 11:10am is the best you can find, you should consider going out of business. Searched vegan options at Houston airport upon landing and Freshii looked promising. The menu had items marked as vegan and items marked as gluten free. I asked said employee if there were any items that were BOTH vegan and gluten free. Quickly I assessed a vegan item that might be able to also be gluten free. While looking at that, she said "you could take stuff off". I asked if the Buddha's Satay would be gluten free if I removed the crispy wontons. She replied to me: "that's up to you to figure out what to take off, I don't know". I looked at her in disbelief and said "well, that's not helpful" and she just stared back and I walked away. It should be noted, she was wearing a mask and kept pulling it down and wiping her weeping nose on her hands, pulling it back up and touching the cash register and other items. I used to love flying into this airport to get my Freshii fix after the one in my home town shut down but this isn't like other Freshiis. Not only did they not have the ingredients to my bowl (and didn't tell me they ran out or offer to change my order) they also didn't put my protein choice on and I almost wish I didn't ask for it after the fact because the falafel was soggy. Food is good I was very satisfied with my "market" wrap. A mix of field greens, strawberries, feta, cabbage slaw and feta. I went with steak as my protein. This came wrapped in a wheat flour tortilla that quiet quit on me after I sat it down. The biggest irk I have would be order expedition, instead of calling out a unique check number they just tell out whatever meal you ordered, they don't even label the item's packaging..That works great if there's two people and they order different items but when it gets busy I'm sure that creates mass confusion, heck I had an issue with confusion on my order as the woman who ordered after me name was Margaret and she thought they called out her name for my "market" wrap. She says "PROTEIN" I said beef, she replies steak, I said sure. What I got was beef, it didn't resemble steak of any kind. It resembled cat food and had a gesture of reconstituted Beek jerky. If you love salt, this might be your thing. Dirty tables in an airport food court round out the "we don't have black pepper" mood. Starving and in a hurry, this might be a worthwhile idea. It's not often that you're at the airport and you find a tasty healthy option. I read some of the reviews on here and not sure what was going on, my experience was excellent. One note, account for about 10-15mins. The line wasn't crazy long when I was there, but it still took quite a bit to get through the orders. My options at the airport were chick fila, some burger place and then extremely overpriced sandwiches at the duty free stores. This was the only place that offered "health"-ier options, so I went for it. I ordered the Mediterranean Falafel bowl and I loved it. I took it to go and had it on the plane. It had 5 pieces of Falafel, fetta cheese, a mixture of greens and it was topped with a tahini dressing. It was fresh, flavorful and left me feeling energized afterwards (as opposed to the food comas I usually experience after eating airport food). They also serve their own juice blends. I tried a beet and apple one, it was the perfect drink to have after my meal. Overall, I paid about $14. Not super expensive, but not on the cheap side either. So it's about double what you'd pay at any of the fast food places. Give it a shot, it's worth it if you're not in the mood for greasy food! read more

Definitely my go to spot when flying out of Terminal B in IAH. Everything I've tried here has always been super fresh yet delicious and nutritious! It is a little more on the expensive side, today I had the "huevos" bowl with added grilled chicken (extra $). They have a few bowl as well as breakfast burrito and egg pocket options (depending on how hungry you are) - vegetarian friendly as well. All in all, the damage today was about $17 bucks since I paired it with a tasty "Green Energy" juice. If you don't mind the price, I highly recommend this spot! What an exciting, disappointing, and sad experience While Bush International Airport I went to the Hard Rock Cafe to inquire about any vegan options. They sent me to freshii. I was happy to see all the vegan options on the menu: quinoa, tofu, falafel, avocado, beans... sorry trying to order items from the menu with minimal substitutions to Satisfy My Vegan requirements. This is where the disappointment started. I asked whether the peanut sauce was vegan. I was told that because it had coconut milk it was not. Then I was told they were not sure if Sriracha was vegan. Then I was told that their shredded white cheese was vegan, whereas on their webpage there is no such claim. After confirming that the Buddha's Satay is vegan, I ordered this and added tofu. The Asian woman hustled to complete my order in a timely fashion. After stepping away from the counter and waiting for my order I then noticed a poster offering a vegan chili. This would have been really nice to consider. The Buddha's Satay Bowl had noodles broccoli carrots cabbage tofu and crispy wontons. The food was actually really good. But unfortunately the noodles were not dried off sufficiently and water down the peanut sauce diminishing it's nice flavor. I also see on the web page that the noodles have eggs. It is sad that this restaurant has the potential to be a very satisfying vegan meal. But due to either poor training or not providing their employees with vegan guidelines it ended up being disappointing. read more

I had a layover in Houston and came across Freshii. It can be hard to eat healthy while traveling, or at least not feel blah since you are sitting a lot. I was happy to see Freshii as an option with healthier food and drink choices. They have bowls, salads, smoothies, juices, etc. I got a cup of fruit (mango, pineapple and strawberry) and a green juice. I was disappointed that they didn't make the juice fresh, it was already made and they just grabbed it from the fridge. It wasn't sealed in a glass jar to retain nutrients, but in a plastic cup, with a lid and straw. So I have no idea how long ago it was made. The juice was good though and same with the fruit.
