Looking for a cool treat in Houston yesterday afternoon. Ratings weren't great for Freshens but it was the costs and most convenient at the moment to hit the craving. It wasn't bad, flavor was good (choc/vanilla swirl) and I added some caramel sauce and choc chips cuz I was feeling gluttonous lol! Biggest problem was how fast is started melting. I hadn't even laid for it before it was already very soft. No, the caramel was not warm, it was room temp. By the time I got to the bottom, it was mostly liquid. Not sure if they need to turn down the temp on the machines or what but I was frustrated by how quickly it turned to mush. No, I was not outside even, it melted that quickly indoors. Staff was friendly and professional, fast as well. Had 2 people in front of me in line and they were moving us along quickly. Quick and friendly service, and a nice option within the food court when you're craving a relatively healthier option. But not really worth the price in my opinion. We got the crepes and they were a lot smaller than we thought they would be. They put a little snow cone water cup holder on the bottom as if the crepe fills the whole thing and ends in a point. But it doesn't. It cuts on right below the cups lip in a straight line. So even if you try to pick up the crepe by the cup, it just falls out. The food itself was fine. I stopped at freshens during a layover after walking through the nearby food court and deciding that it would be better to have a crepe rather than a sandwich or a slice of pizza. Alas, I would have been better off with a slice of pizza. I ordered a Denver omelet crepe ($9.59) and a soft pretzel ($4). The staff was friendly enough and completed my order in a reasonably quick fashion despite being busy. My pretzel was hard and chewy rather than being soft and delicious, despite being freshly heated up- I'm not totally sure how that happens. The Denver omelet was weirdly devoid of flavor aside from the salsa topping it. It was also hard and difficult to cut with a little plastic knife. The crepe itself was huge- between the crepe, the pretzel, and the coffee I bought from the nearby Starbucks, I didn't have time to finish it before I had to board my plane. If you're in this terminal at the airport and really in the mood for a crepe, freshens will give you enough food to fill you up before your flight quickly, but I wouldn't count on it being all that tasty. read more

Got their savory pesto crepe for a quick lunch before catching my flight. It's not the best crepe I've ever had, but it's very good for an airport restaurant. The crepe was toasty, the cheese was melty, and the veggies were cold. While I would prefer the veggies be hot in my crepe, at least I know it wasn't all thrown together hours before and just reheated. Only negative is where to eat it. Every inch of open dining space not affiliated with restaurants is taken by hoomans charging their electronic devices. That's hardly the fault of this establishment though. read more
