This restaurant is part of the tunnel system and it close to What-a-burger and Potbelly. I was so excited to try this place since it was closer than the other Poke places in the tunnel system! However, I tried to keep my expectations low because restaurants in the tunnel don't always have a good reputation and when I saw that they branded themselves as "American poke" I was a bit worried. Even though I tried to control my expectations I was still disappointed since I was expecting something closer to the normal poke but it was closer to a sushi bake. Branding: 5 The branding was really cute. From the take out bag to the bowls it was nice to see the details that they put into their marketing Food: 2.5 (for me) When they said American poke it's actually really accurate marketing. Their sauces are all mayo based which makes the bowl feel heavier and more like a sushi bake. They only have two soy sauce options which is small compared to other poke restaurants. What threw me off though was how bitter their salad was and that there wasn't many options for topping. The corn was a bit flavorless. The fish wasn't fresh and I didn't think it paired well with the mayo and the soy sauce just added saltiness without giving any dimension of freshness. Texture wise this wasn't my favorite. The cucumbers were thick so it was hard to incorporate them with the other parts of the poke bowl. Service: 4 The servers were nice and fast All in all I wouldn't come back and I would walk 5-10 more minutes to get another poke place or eat something else. However, I understand their vision and if you like Sushi bake this place is more for you. When you walk in, the menu shows Boba, Poke Bowls, and Dole whip desserts. 6 poke bowls are available. You can customize ingredients after you pick a bowl. Rice, greens, or a mix of both. I'd give an additional half star if I could. I had hesitated in trying this place because the menu had only set options but I decided to go in finally and give it a try. Luckily, I was able to remove the items I didn't want and the server was happy to accommodate my changes. I ordered the shrimp and salmon and subbed the salmon for tofu, minus the corn, onions, and jalapeño. The tofu was seasoned, the rice warm and cooked well. The shrimp was fresh and I loved the flavor of the furikake which I suspect included puffed rice as well. It was a good portion and I was not able to finish the entire bowl. They offer a discount punch card, 10th bowl free, and also give points towards free boba though I noticed the teas were all powders or syrups and may not be worth it. I may return but given the amount of substitutions I'd have to make each time while still paying full price means I'll probably think to go elsewhere first. read more

After an hour spent I went to the lobby and took photos of the building and the BMW classic car that was parked there. Horrible service. I waited twenty minutes to get a poke bowl. There was only one another customer. The kids was down. The rice was mushy. I wanted to give the guy working there some feedback but he didn't care. He just ignored me. I definitely will not go again. One more thing, No soy sauce! read more

Went to Uncle Sharkii's two weeks ago because my coworker loves it. Overall I give it a 4/5 for the following reasons: 1) Food 4/5. I got the Uncle Sharkii which was ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp, imitation crab on salad only with all of the toppings. I paid extra for more jalapeños. I topped it all off with the sirracha sauce and sesame sauce. This was my first time trying a poke bowl and naively thought the fish would be cooked. My mistake. Overall it was good but I personally do NOT like the texture of the raw fish. I will be back for a shrimp and crab bowl though. The seaweed was amazing!!! 2) Service: the guy at the counter was patient and accommodating. Their service moved pretty quickly. No complaints. 3) Ambiance: this is a shop in the Penzoil plaza. Good cafeteria style assembly line. I will come back to Uncle Sharkki if I'm in the area. It is pricey. I spent $22 for a bowl and bottled diet coke. Good flavors and good price except for water which is like a third the cost of your bowl. Very simple menu, so simple I was confused looking around for another menu or something to scan to get a bigger menu...nope, there aren't any. Real generous portion and great flavor, however after eating halfway through it, I found two hairs and threw the rest of my food out The hair was black and curly. I have brown straight hair. The first time I got in line, I looked at the bowls others were walking out with & decided to go elsewhere. Then today a friend wanted to try it, so I went back. The line moves kind of slow, so we debating bailing but waited. Glad we did! The poke bowl was quite filling and very tasty! I had ahi tuna & salmon. You select between rice or salad, I opted for 1/2 & 1/2. I told them spice, but didn't find much spice. And for the sauce I got the pineapple one. Which I really didn't notice - everything blended together and was very tasty. Mine friend opted for the chipotle sauce (or something like that) and said it was very spicy. I'll definitely go back in the future. Hope they add online ordering soon. The ordering & waiting for food was probably 20 min.
