I feel like I'm going to get shunned on yelp for this review but I really didn't like freshii. I really want to like it, the concept is rad & I know so many people who love it. First of fresh markets to be a healthy place to eat but they sell coke & other sodas from that company. It seems hypocritical to me to carry those beverages in the place. Just saying. Atmosphere- It seemed very open, clean, airy, that sort of feel. A nicer "fast food" kinda feel. You order from a counter and then can find a seat or take it to go. Not somewhere I would go for an experince kind of a meal. The big thing I didn't like was the blasting of new music. It was so loud it was hard to have a conversation. I'm ordering food, not going out dancing. Calm down with the music. I found it rather annoying to be in the place. 1.5/5 Service- The service was perfectly fine here. They answered all my questions, were friendly & fast. Have nothing negative to say about service 4.5/5 Food- The food was nothing special or even tasty to say the least. I had two different dishes, The Spicy noodle bowl without cilantro & the Asian bowl with out the crispy won tong, tofu instead of chicken. Maybe it was because of the substations/changes but the food wasn't very good at all. The Spicy noodle dish was very spicy to me. I can handle some spice but this dish was hot! The Asian bowl was just very bland nothing special or yummy at all. Not worth the 7 something it was. The prices aren't bad if the food tasted better. 1/5 Over all I wouldn't recommend this place. The only way I'd eat here again is if I was hungry and it was the only restaurant around. read more

A healthier option than most, Freshii has wraps, salads and soups for lunch as well as a breakfast menu..and what looks to me like a desert-yogourt menu (reeses pieces!) Salads run (at time of this review) in the 8 - 10 dollar range. Salads are made to order, so it's not quite fast-food - but you can get it to go. About 5 minutes for my salad to arrive. Freshii advertizes their eco conciousness (yay!) With all bio-degadable or easily recycled packaging as well as their connection to food at the source. All in all, good experience. Bought a blue Freshii drink at the rest stop near Trenton Ontario. It was insanely expensive $5:50 plus tax, had a bitter aftertaste and sludge at the bottom of the can. terrible value, lousy taste and awful quality, do not waste your money. I will not be trying any of their other items. read more

Well I did it everyone! I had my sushirito virginity taken away from me. Let me first say, this is a great healthy option close to the parliament hill on a nice pedestrian only street. I got to try both the chicken teriyaki sushirito and tofu kimchi sushirito. Both were great, kimchi was very spicy. I'd like to make a point that these rolls dont really taste ANYTHING like sushi besides the seaweed paper. I would call it a Korean Roll. The seaweed or nori is pretty tough to rip a bite off, so it fails a little bit in its functionality as a burrito and taste as a sushi. But still great tasting! read more

Ordered twice and both times there were problems with the orders. First time, lettuce was of poor quality and second time they forgot the tofu as my protein. Very timely on pickup but they should spend more time ensuring that the product is as ordered and is of higher quality. Likely not to return as more businesses open in downtown Ottawa. It's official. I hate Freshii. Not directed to this location specifically (tho this was my more recent and LAST visit) but seriously, this place sucks Plain and bland and yes of course a bowl of plain bland veggies will be healthy. Everything at Freshii is so ridiculously tasteless and boring - even their veggies just seem to lack the natural taste they should have. I've had it all from the burritos to the salads to the bowls and it's all the same. Bland. Boring. Tasteless. I'm actually *ok* with their build your own salads as I can add a ton of ingredients to give it more taste and always order extra dressing again for taste (so much for healthy!) but then my bloody salad ends up being $20. The same size salad elsewhere can be purchased for less and with enough taste that I don't need to drown it in dressing. If you advertise as a great place for healthy food, you are only good if your food actually has taste. Go home, cut up a bowl of veggies, and top it with some rice or quinoa with no taste, or add extra sauce that's invisible with no taste, and ta-da! You have made a Freshii menu item! read more

Finally a fast health food joint that lets you pick and choice your meal buy ingredients. I walk buy this place during a festible on sparks street and noticed wraps with Swiss char. I have been making my on veggie / chicken wraps at home with Romain lettuce and was happy to get some new ideas for healthy tasty food. The service was quick and friendly. I hope this place gets big in Ottawa, we need more places like this to help people to stay fit and healthy. Thanks Freshii I am a fan for sure. read more

A quick spot to grab a healthy lunch downtown. It took me a minute to figure out how to order at this place--each patron gets a menu card and marks off what they'd like. It's a nifty idea because then you can customize your meal with the flick of your pencil. I had a buffalo chicken wrap and it was easy to substitute ranch dressing for the blue cheese (which I don't care for). There isn't much seating, but when you're on Sparks street it's nice to eat outside anyway. read more

I work downtown, and my mission is to find the best vegetarian, high-volume, low-cost meal. I think this is it: $6.77 for a noodle or rice bowl that will fill you up quite solidly. I find you can alternate through the sauces enough that it doesn't get too repetitive. Be sure to get the loyalty card. I tried a "burrito" one time and was not impressed; it's really just a salad wrap so much less filling. read more

Ordered a wrap, and a kale salad with extra dressing. Didn't get the extra dressing, didn't even get the salad. Instead, I was given two wraps. Nice healthy place! I ordered the huevo breakfast bowl and my hubby ordered egg bacon and cheese egg pocket. The bowl was nice and fresh, the scramble egg was nicely done, topped with black beans, salsa, avocado, and cheese. The BBQ source on top was a little too strong for me. For the price that you pay, I don't think it's anything too spectacular. It is a good option for healthy lunch food, however I think you would probably get about the same quality if you just bought one of those prepackaged salads at the grocery store. There was nothing standout about the flavours or the quality of the ingredients. I was also disappointed in the quality of the meat as I paid extra to add on "steak" which I am not sure is really what I would consider steak. Definitely seemed more like processed meat. I was also expecting the food to be warmer. The portion size was also just average. There should be more options for different sizes of meals and combos. The service was good, and the atmosphere of the place is nice and fresh. Not particularly cozy or inviting though. It seems very "clean" and white, but not really a place where I'd want to linger beyond finishing my meal. They do have a little patio area outside. The location is nice and central. Overall, if you are in the neighbourhood and want a healthy option, this could do. But in terms of having a standout meal, I think it's just average. The meals aren't very creative or interesting. They could definitely use some spicing up. For the same quality and better value, just eat at the grocery store for lunch. I also called in to do takeout, and it ended up being some long and complicated process involving signing up for a justeat account online rather than them just taking my order over the phone so I decided I could not be bothered by that. I usually like Freshii, but the last two times I have been have been absolutely awful. The first time, the workers were extremely rude and unprofessional and were discussing annoying customers quite loudly with tons of customers in the store. The second time, I ordered a noodle bowl with tofu (I am vegetarian). Halfway through I bit in to a huge chunk of chicken. When I brought it to the counter they weren't surprised and said, "Sorry, the chicken and tofu are right next to each other and easy to confuse. It was just a matter of cross-contamination." They did not offer to make me a new one or give me a refund. read more

There are many healthy restaurant around Ottawa but Freshii is my favorite. Not only you got the options to pick the veggie you want, you can also order from the menu. For the food it was fresh and clean. What make the salad and rice great was the sauce and dressing. Basically you create your own salad and rice bowl. You will not be disappointed. read more

Excellent place to have lunch. They give you a clip board where you put together your own made to order wrap, bowl or soup. My daughter ordered (made) a green wrap w/ brown rice, avocado & up to 6 toppings w/ quite a large variety. Vegetarian chile also quite good. I had a grilled chicken teriyaki on a regular wrap w/ toppings galore. My only criticism is there lack of smoothies that are pre-arranged (not ore-done). They make it up by allowing made-to-order smoothies w/ over a dozen ingredients available. Come once & you will definitely want to comeback again. read more

I am a long time fan of Freshii- reasonably priced salads when on the run is the way to go. However, the past 3 items I have bought at this location have had rotting vegetables in them. The first was rotting black beans. The second was sour rotted green apples which seemed like they had been recently thawed from frozen. The latest (which I just found, and which prompted me to write this review) is rotten brocoli in my salad. The bottom of the stems are brown with goo. I find it hard to believe that the person making this salad did not see the rot. Freshii, please institute quality control at this location a.s.a.p., or risk losing customers. read more

The food is always decent, nothing compared to the veggie places you can find in Toronto - Fresh or IQ, but a good stop for lunch near the hill. Decent prices too for the amount of food you get, but they always skimp on the more expensive ingredients i.e. avocado, tofu, crispy noodles. The one thing that bugged me enough to write a review is that they laughed at my name when they shouted out my order. I have a pretty interesting name but it's not unheard of, and when the cashier called it out she said "hm that's a weird one" then proceeded to say "for Mercedes!". I ordered the Cobb salad a few weeks back. The salad tasted good, although pretty pricey. It's weird but the cobb salad doesn't have eggs... so how can it be a cobb salad? Also I waited in line for 25 mins to get my order. If you decide to eat here, come early or pre-order. Some bowls look like good portions, but I found my salad was a little small. They have gluten free items, but look online first to find the allergens (tricky to find on the website but it's there). I can't say I'm in any rush to go back. I think I'll stick to my homemade salads. read more

I like the custom grilled wraps however I find that during busy times the quality suffers and it becomes inconsistent. Sometimes they put enough sauce and grill it for the correct the amount of time and sometimes my wrap will be cold and not enough sauce. Also they put all the ingredients in one spot instead of spreading it out...so all my protein will be at one end and all of the cheese will be at the other end. If I could consistently get a good wrap I would give it 4 stars. Not 5 because it's a bit pricey. read more
