    Double angus burger
    Amanda B.

I haven't been here in years, and after hearing about a sort of sketchy reputation with the kind of customers coming through, I wasn't too keen on coming back. I was walking around the area with my husband and he wanted to stop in since we hadn't had a Harvey's burger in awhile, so I said yes and was surprised to find it's been renovated. The décor has been updated quite a bit to be more modern, and it's nice to see it clean. It was pretty empty on a Friday night - not sure if that's typical or not. I got a double angus burger and shared some fries and a drink with my husband. There are a ton more menu items and toppings and sauces for your burger than there used to be. They now have things like guacamole, tzatziki, corn and black beans, garlic mayo, and little individual containers of mayo and chipotle sauce to have on the side. There are rice, salad, and fries bowls, "frickles" (deep fried pickles), and mini donuts. The menu has expanded quite a bit over the last few years, and the service at this particular location has improved greatly. They were not only quick but very polite and friendly, and actually took care in putting our burgers together. The prices are a lot higher now, however, so I would recommend ordering an angus for a more filling option, but there are other options in the area at the same price point that aren't fast food.

Price I paid for the milkshake .. A 15% premium.

Double Angus burger was to be expected, fine. Milkshake had a store syrup tax that could not be explained by staff. $0.50 won't kill me, however, it's still false advertising.

Price not so bad for fast food

What a thoughtful touch! Our dining experience was more on the expensive side this time around. However, you can most definitely get away with spending little due to their amazing happy hour options. We ordered the steak with lobster, lobster spaghetti, truffle parmesan fries, and their signature sangria. The steak was cooked spot on: medium rare and just a touch on the rare side, exactly how I wanted it and mentioned from the get-go. Everything arrived promptly, which made the whole experience feel smooth and well-paced. We placed 4 happy hour sangrias, which were perfectly balanced and refreshing. What really stood out was the service. Our server, Ace, was wonderful, attentive, friendly, and genuinely engaging. She even surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate, which made the evening feel extra special. The restaurant itself is immaculate: spotlessly clean with a smart, stylish setup that immediately catches your eye. The ambiance was electric, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable night out. Overall, Joey Rideau exceeded expectations in every way. I would come back in a heartbeat!

They have the latest Happy Hour in the Byward Market! 5pm-7pm, everyday. All cocktails are $11 and all appetizers are half price. I got the blackened chicken salad, regularly $26 but was only $13 during Happy Hour. It was a good size too, more like a dinner salad than an appetizer (although at the regular price, I would expect it to be large). It was mixed greens, watermelon beets, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, pomegranate seeds and goat cheese, with blackened chicken breast. I asked for the salad dressing on the side and it arrived as requested. The dressing was a Sherry Dijon vinaigrette and was great. The vegetables were fresh and the chicken was flavourful and not dry at all. I also had the Guava Rush, minus the Red Bull. It was fruity and I enjoyed it. It has rum, spiced rum, orange liqueur, strawberry syrup, guava juice and lime. It was garnished with a slice of dried pineapple and a cocktail umbrella. The interior is beautiful, as is the hidden patio out back. Washrooms are down a flight of stairs and it's borderline creepy down there, lol. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I would definitely return for Happy Hour! (129)

The hostess failed to mention that the kitchen was out of beef patties and chips so they weren't serving 4 items on their menu. We weren't informed until we were ordering, and my table planned to order an appetizer with chips and 2 burgers. The waitress took our orders (table of 5) without writing it down and one of the items we ordered had the wrong customization. This was quickly fixed with the offer to remake it and take it off the bill. All of our appetizers were also forgotten and never put through to the kitchen. We didn't get them until after we were finished our mains. I guess they also put one of our appetizers through twice, so we received an extra order of wings for free. I've been to 3 different Warehouse locations now and never expect too much because of the price, and the service and food reflected this. I would've given it a 3/5 based on the food but wasn't happy with the service. Especially because I was looking forward to ordering the mushroom Swiss burger.

They accommodated, special drink requests, proactively offered to move our seats to a shadier corner when it got a little bit too sunny on the rooftop patio etc. Drinks were inexpensive but still creative and good. Food was as expected, smaller portions at cheaper prices - which was actually great for our appetite levels. Five year old had chicken fingers and fries (shocking, right?!) which were perfect. Adults shared a root beer pulled pork sandwich and yam fries which was a little light on the meat side, but tasty, as well as an Asian style salad - the real standout. It was fabulous. Overall, a damn decent experience!

The Short Version: Spacious and beautiful restaurant…read more Delicious food. Service was pleasant, but a bit slow. The Long Version: I had dinner here as part of a professional continuing education event sponsored by a pharmaceutical company. We had a section of the restaurant for our event and it was nicely set up with space for a screen and a projector. Even though there were other patrons in the restaurant we could still hear the presentation and our little nook felt private. I started off with a mixed greens salad and it usually comes pre-dressed, but I asked for the dressing on the side and this was accomodated. Vegetables were fresh and it was a mesclun mix, carrots, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, and radishes. The lemon honey dressing was light and not too oily, although I only used about a fifth of what they gave me. For my main I had the salmon which came with a delicious fried polenta cake. The outside was crispy and delicious while the inside was creamy. The salmon was moist and delicious. It came with kale, a tomato confit and an olive tapenade. The flavours complemented each other well and did not over power the salmon. The menu price of the salmon was $39. For dessert I got the gluten-free chocolate brownie, which I was told was made of almond flour. It was a bit crumbly and had a grainy texture. I did not love it. Many others at the event had the Steak Frites and this looked delicious. I was debating between the salmon and the steak and while I enjoyed my salmon I wonder if I did not make the best choice, lol. The menu price of the steak was $49. The other dessert option was a creme brulee which also looked good. And given I wasn't thrilled about my brownie, I felt I should have gotten the other option. Service was pleasant. The wine was flowing freely, lol, but the courses took a while to come out. For these events, the dinner is usually fully served by the end of the educational session presentation, but when the presentation ended they hadn't even served the main course yet. We were a large group of around 30 people. And I don't know if they had their full staffing complement. Attendees were getting antsy towards the end and were asking for their desserts to be packed up to-go. Staff seemed a bit flustered but got the job done. Overall, a beautiful restaurant that is very spacious with multiple sections to the restaurant. Great environment for an event. Food was delicious. Service wasn't as timely, but still courteous and pleasant. Street parking only. Review #83 (2026)

The Long Version: The Alembic Stillhouse is the restaurant/pub attached to the Cartier Suites Hotel. It has the usual pub fare like fish and chips, burgers, chicken fingers, etc. but it also has some Latin American dishes like arepas, tequenos, tostones and churros. My husband and I had dinner here and it was overall really good. I had the Arepa with Soup ($15) and added a second arepa for an additional $9. I got the Pabellon and Reina arepas. The soup of the day was tomato basil. My husband had the fish and chips ($18). I really enjoyed my arepas. The Pabellon was layered with shredded beef and feta cheese on top (the open end), and black beans and plantains on the bottom (the closed end). The Reina had the filling uniformly distributed - pieces of lean chicken breast mixed with avocado and cilantro crema. The corn meal arepa shell was crispy on the outside and held the fillings very well. I can't even decide which one I liked better because both were so good. I didn't like the tomato basil soup though. It had a cheesy note to it which I found off-putting. However, my husband loved it, so I gave it to him. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips. I had a bit of his fish and while it was crispy on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside, it had a strong fishy smell and taste that I didn't like. The fries were crispy and hot but were from frozen. Service was pleasant. The place has a pub feel. They have karaoke on Fridays starting at 8pm. We left before it started, lol. 5 stars for the arepas, 3 stars for the other food I tried, so 4 stars overall since service was good. I would get the arepas again. Street parking is the best bet (some streets have free parking and some streets have paid metered parking which is about $3 an hour). There's indoor hotel parking but it's a daily rate and over $20.
