There was some good sales going on as well. I got the sparkling VLT zero sugar. One of the only grocery stores that have it. and You obviously have to stop by the pastry section! In…read morefact, MOST of their products are higher priced than a lot of their counterparts due to being under the Loblaws banner (take anything for example like a bottle of soy sauce). However, this review is SPECIFICALLY geared towards an elusive item that they recently introduced: PAPA CRISPY CHICKEN. My family tried for 2 weeks to nab one of these birds but it kept evading us. I think they don't have that many fryers and because the birds are fried whole, they can only stick so many chickens into each one at a time. Also, one of the ladies told my mom that they only stick like 5-10 chickens into the fryer(s) in each "session". My mom called in, was told to rush over in 5 min and by the time she arrived, they told her all the chickens were gone and she'd have to wait til 12:30pm (it was 11:20-ish when she arrived). So on to the taste. The chicken is very different from say southern fried chicken like Popeyes. The chicken has very obviously been seasoned aggressively. If you're a garlic lover you will absolutely love this chicken (I happen to love garlic haha). The garlic flavour permeates throughout the meat. I think they brined the chicken and then slathered garlic paste all over it as a marinade overnight before frying. They provide 2 dry spice dips to go w/ each chicken in their respective box. One is a spicy salt and the other one is a dry chilli rub seasoning. The chicken doesn't need the dips at all as there is MORE than enough flavour. To be honest, I do prefer the flavour and crispiness of southern fried chicken more but the breast meat on this Papa Crispy Chicken was way better. The meat was more moist (most likely because the chickens were smaller than usual commercial chickens). Every so often on Tuesdays, instead of ordering my couple, tuesday Popeyes 2 pc specials, I'll crush one of these birds by myself. The part that sucks is how often they're unavailable because of the current demand.

They have lots of good dishes. See my other reviews. There is one dish I miss. There's used to have this lemon chicken that was stringy deep fried chicken with lemon sauce on it. But they change their recipe years ago it is like everyone else's now... no longer special. Large long spears of chicken white meat with a lemon sauce. Boring. So we don't order it anymore. They have lots of other good stuff still. And the dining room has been updated.

The restaurant is small but quite clean inside. It looks like they recently renovated. The service wasn't as good as some of the other reviews suggested, but it was pretty much what you would expect from a typical Hong Kong café--very casual. We ordered the chicken with vegetables. There was a good variety of vegetables, and the portions were quite large. However, the plate was so small that it was difficult to get to the food underneath if it wasn't on top. I don't understand why they couldn't simply use a bigger plate, which seems like the easiest solution after a renovation. The prices weren't as good as we had anticipated. Maybe we just didn't order the right dishes. They also offer dish combos, but instead of letting you choose the dishes, they have set combinations to choose from, very limited choices.

We took our colleague's advice and went to this location and was sorely disappointed. This restaurant is too Canadianized - it was empty when we got there. But we took a chance and ate there, because there were no other good restaurants around. Also, we all like to suppor mom and pop owners, so... The owner is VERY nice and cute....but was sitting in the kitchen for a while before she came out. I had to holla for a while for her to know that there are customers waiting outside. The food - so not worth my stomach. They did not even have fresh chili oil or hot sauce. I asked for hot chili and she brought out to go packets of chili and hot mustard. So disappointed but if you have not been spoiled by San Jose or Santa Clara or BAY AREA Chinese authentic food, then this restaurant may be ok for you. I was just disappointed.

The sweet and sour soup was a ketchup like mess with scary bits of pork. We told them to cancel the rest of the order and we got our coats and walked out. The server, who wore a winter coat as he brought us our food, told us we need to pay for the soups because we tasted them. Obviously, we're not the first to walk out and we won't be the last. Please don't eat here. Please. You won't be happy if you do.

They have a dining section in the center and the frozen dim sum to the right I specifically came for the dim sum Unfortunately it didn't wow me The price point was $5.99 to $6.99 as the cheapest to upwards of $12.99 to $13.99 for the high end I grabbed a few must haves 1. Sui mai 2. Har how 3. Bean curd rolls 4. Sticky rice I noticed for this price range the quantity was lacking There was some serious shrinkflation. The pieces inside each bag were only 4-5 and they were very small It would have been ok if I took it home and the taste and flavour were a wow factor But again unfortunately It was a disappointment I probably won't be back as I will go to other frozen dim sum locations namely (FuKee Bao Dim) Sorry not my cup of tea namely (Yum Chaa)

Upon entering, you will see rows and rows of display cases full of frozen dimsum and foods. There is so much variety. Take a good look and you might see some interesting not-so-common dishes. Black bean pork ribs and salted egg buns are a personal fav for me. Much better deal than at restaurants for sure (you know many of them use frozen anyway). If you'd like to snack on something right away, they have hot ready-to-eat snacks near the counter too, like egg tarts and BBQ pork buns. Unlike quite a few other cash-only Chinese frozen dimsum places, they take card payments, which works great for me. That being said, the price is a little higher. Plenty of free parking for the plaza.
