The Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center is not very impressive. The facilities appear old and in need of updating. Valdez Hall could really use a facelift. Went there for a family members oath taking and it is in sad shape. Bad venue for having 1300 people take their oath taking. Not nearly enough room for family members to watch. The exhibit halls and Selland Arena are part of the "Entertainment" Center. Those venues are not as bad as Valdez Hall. Saroyan Theater, I have not visited. So, no comment. Hopefully, their facilities will be modernized in the near future. They have a good location in the heart of downtown Fresno. Til then, 2 stars.

It was my first time here attending a partner luncheon and I think the space provides adequate seating. They also have a projector screen for PowerPoints and videos. In the back of the same area separated by glass is an area where they can serve food to you. There are clean restrooms for guests. Parking is a little interesting, but that's just downtown for you. They have an underground parking area and have staff to guide you where to park. I had beef, salad, and some green beans 7/10 cause the salad was looking a little rough.

Oh man...where do I start. It was an event on 3/14/2026 where it was a special guest performer…read moreKiana ledè. So a couple of friends of ours, my girl and I paid for $300+ for a vip table. The event was from 9pm to 2am. Dress code was supposedly strictly enforced but I guess not for everyone. When we got seated it was really cold. We were on time and doors opened at 9 but we probably didn't get in until 45 minutes after. Our group was maybe 6th from the door. So we got in and the vibe was cool. Our waitress was TRASH. It's like she didn't know what was happening that night. We seen her serving other tables but she didn't get to us till about almost 10:45. A hour later after we were seated and at that it was because we flagged her down. Since we got a vip table it included an option of Cajun fish or Cajun fried chicken. Served with sides sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, corn bread and smoke greens and a bottle of wine. As I said our waitress didn't get to us until 10:45 and only got to us because we flagged her down. Once she came we asked where was our bottle of wine because we seen everyone else was getting served. And she was confused like she didn't know we were supposed to get a bottle of wine. So she leaves and comes back another 15 minutes later with the wine. When she brought back the wine we then noticed other tables were getting food already and we were just getting wine. We then asked for water as well and that took another 10 minutes. But when she brought the water back, it was in little plastic cups but everyone else had water in wine glasses. Our waitress then disappears for maybe another 20 minutes and we had to flag her down. So we then told her we want to order our food. She was not familiar AT ALL with what was included with the VIP table. Then she said all they had was chicken. When we asked about sides she again was unfamiliar with the sides that was advertised on the flyer. So she said let me check smh. She was then gone for another 10-15 minutes and just brought back the chicken plates and NONE of the sides that were included. So we then asked about the sides and she said there were no sides included and we said it was advertised that the dinner included sides. Just the plates of BAKED chicken...not the fried chicken that was advertised. We didn't get our food till almost 1130 and it was a small half chicken. From 1120 to almost 12 they were honoring 20 top influential women in Fresno. So after being in the line at 9pm on the dot, not getting in until 945 and not eating till 1130 Kiana ledè didn't come out till 12 midnight. She sings a song and a half and then started taking pictures. We had a better time listening to the dj play music than we did with the lack luster performance. After her 1 and a half songs we decided to just leave. So long story short this even was EXTREMELY unorganized, service was terrible, food that was advertised was not provided and 3 hours after the event started was when Kiana ledè came out just to perform 1 and a half songs. I will NEVER go there again. Adrien and mysti Harris...the owners NEED to do better.

We barely lasted 5 minutes inside before deciding to leave as the vibes were not it. We walk out and ask about re-entry, and for some reason the same lady who checked us in began telling us we had to leave because we didn't have a bracelet, when she didn't give us one to begin with. She then asked why we're leaving and when we said we wanted to eat she said they have food there in an aggressive/attitude like way, which just felt really uninviting and unprofessional. We left, and I do not plan to return and would not recommend it for a night of dancing

Thank you to Ashley and everyone at Simonian Farms for helping to make our 40th high school reunion…read moreevent so successful! Everything from the venue's beautiful grounds, dining/bar setup, options of amenities, its proximity to lodging, and food/catering choices were top-notch and many people who attended were extremely complimentary. So much so, that I am going to include some of the comments from our attendees in this review. Here's what our attendees had to say: "Beautiful yet comfortable casual atmosphere", "Casual yet felt very upscale...wonderful hometown hospitality", "hidden gem", "amazing atmosphere for reunions, family gatherings, and other events", and "perfect venue for our reunion...indoor/outdoor aspect works well...there was more room to accommodate a larger group, if necessary". Ashley was extremely flexible with our plans when changes came up, and she always made sure that we had everything we needed (right down to the last minute patio heaters for the surprise cooler weather!) It goes without saying that we would not hesitate to hold another high school reunion at Simonian Farms in the future! Sanger High Class of 1985 Reunion Committee

Beyond the logistics, she was such a joy to work with! We can't thank Vanessa enough for making our dream wedding come to life. To preface, I have experience hosting events from 50-200 guests and have worked with numerous…read morevenues and coordinators. Vanessa is by far the WORST venue coordinator I've interacted with in terms of customer service, industry knowledge, and communication skills. If you read the other positive reviews, you'll notice they ALL paid additional money for Vanessa to be their wedding coordinator. If you do not pay this, she is a horror to work with (as corroborated by the negative reviews), and I recommend AVOIDING this venue. Another reviewer also stated the owner is her brother-in-law so there is no recourse for her behavior and there are no other venue coordinators available. Detailed below are just some of the negatives: - The wedding was actually for my sister. She was having difficulties with Vanessa so asked me to assist. I reached out to Vanessa explaining who I was but never received a response. Instead, Vanessa told my sister that she felt threatened by my contact and will only work with individuals that signed the venue contract. I never said anything negative, but she often overreacted and took offense over nothing. - Every response took 2 weeks. She would contradict herself in the same email, which added confusion. - She would use made up lingo and when asked for clarification, she would blame us for not understanding "industry language" and still wouldn't clarify. In my 10 years, I've never heard some of the terms that she used. - She didn't understand standard wedding requests. We asked for a cake table and Vanessa responded that the request was unclear because she didn't know what size a cake table should be. We asked to add 2 rectangular side tables for guestbooks, gifts, etc. On the proposal, Vanessa commented "unsure why the client requested". - Unless asked, she wouldn't disclose critical information. We asked multiple times if additional tables (sweetheart, cocktail, etc.) are free. Vanessa confirmed they were free, but once the proposal arrived, it showed free tables with each linen at an additional charge. I told my sister to confirm if the venue provided cake cutting utensils. They don't (which is fine) but this is all information that you tell your clients without prompting. Imagine cutting the cake with no utensils! - When asked questions, she rudely responded with "NO" or "YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE" - In the 1.5 years of planning, despite multiple requests, the venue proposal was only updated twice - once for the initial contract and once when full payment was due 30 days before the event. My sister had to withhold final payment to get her to update it. She updated it 1 week after with inaccurate information. We annotated and returned it next day saying that she'd pay once it was correct. Vanessa had the audacity to respond that making notes on the proposal made it seem like they were stalling payment. Granted, there were 1-2 new updates amongst many more corrections but it was because Vanessa withheld information, and new adjustments were required after seeing the revised proposal for the 1st time. - Vanessa never provided a table layout. My sister had to create it and then confirmed if 5 round tables per row would work. On wedding day, we arrived to a different layout of 4 rounds per row. Vanessa blamed it on a 2 ft. wide photo arch, stating that she had to make adjustments to fit an arch that was discussed weeks prior. However, it was evident that the room would have NEVER fit 5 rounds per row. We had to rearrange the seating chart and the chairs to accommodate for her mess. - Also on wedding day, Vanessa was surprised to find the timeline included a champagne toast. Mind you, the timeline was provided 30 days ago and toasts are standard in weddings. So, she gave us 30 mins to decide on the additional champagne cost. I asked to remove 1 champagne bottle charge as there was an entire table of kids, but she refused. So apparently, the venue includes children in the champagne count even though serving alcohol to minors is illegal. - There was also a safety hazard. About 25 chairs with wheels/casters were intermingled with standard dining chairs. I unknowingly sat in a chair with casters and almost fell. There was no visible difference between the standard chairs vs. chairs with casters, and the table linens prevent anyone from seeing the casters. I told Vanessa who saw no issues and argued that people falling out their chair has never happened before. Thankfully, we were able to get these all replaced prior to the wedding to avoid any older guests from getting hurt. To the owner: Not only is Vanessa horrible to clients, but since she never updated the proposal, the kitchen used the original headcount and cooked 40 additional meals (talk about a waste of money). Also, due to not providing a table layout, the banquet captain Griselda set up tables once, and then had to come back 1 hr earlier to redo it, making staff do avoidable extra work.
