The restaurant is fun with the name, theme, and decor. It took a half a minute or so for someone to speak to us upon entering and there were a few servers walking by but no one welcomed us. Thankfully that did not take away from the food or they would have received three stars. Hubby ordered a patty melt on rye and asked for the burger to be cooked medium rare. He also ordered fries. As you can see from the pictures, they cooked it exactly how he asked and he said it had a good flavor. I ordered the half sandwich and soup combo. I asked for the chicken sandwich on sourdough and French onion soup. The chicken left much to be desired as it's probably frozen and not fresh battered but the soup made up for it. What flavor the soup has! The only thing it was missing was more croutons...my favorite part, especially after it soaked up all the savory goodness from the broth. All meals are served with a few fresh veggies and dill dip...the dip is so good! Our server took very good care of us. Restrooms were clean. I'll definitely return and try the Reuben sandwich next time.

    Small bar area.

Food and services were great. The ambience is somewhat dark with a medieval timeframe decor. Prices are moderate, food servings are plentiful. Everything was served Hot with a nice presentation. Food was very tasty. Here in the area, I would highly recommend trying it.

Friar Tucks is a staple of Oshkosh. It's been here longer than me. When I got introduced to it I knew I'd be coming back. My review will focus on this visit. The food was good. I ordered a French onion soup and a medium-rare burger with some changes to what came on it. It came out missing the bbq sauce. I inquired and the bartender said she had forgotten to grab it, problem solved. When I cut in to the burger it was a little more rare then I was expecting. But it was still good. Props to the cooks!! The service was a little slow at times and it wasn't that busy when I happened to be there. The staff was standing around talking to a "local" mostly which I think made them not as attentive. Easily fixable just don't indulge the rather loud "local" customer. Service is the reason it's not 5 stars. Food quality, taste, and timing are all reasons for the 4+ stars.

Food was amazing, bread was homemade and fresh. atmosphere was so cute and love the theme. Server was helpful and very observant

    Friar Tucks "well done burger".

I was served and under cooked burger, see the picture. Slightly afraid I might get sick. And I had ordered well done. This is first time I've been to the Oshkosh Friar Tucks but I've been to the one in Fond Du Lac many times. My dad and I meet there about once a month as Fond Du Lac is about half way from Green Bay (Dad) and Madison (me). If this review was for the FDL location I'd give it five stars. Reasonably good food with HUGE portions for a great price. Good service as well. But unfortunately today Dad and I wanted to se a movie so we met in Oshkosh. Server wasn't friendly but not rude. She never check back on us though otherwise I would have asked them to refire my burger. If you've ever been to a Friar Tucks you'll know it very dark so at first I didn't catch how under done my "well done" was for the first few bites. The consistency though was that of raw beef. then I sliced it open and it was bright pink almost the whole way through. So not a happy customer here and really hope I do t get sick.

The drinks took quite awhile to come to the table and so did the food. The food was great though. Can't wait to come back!

This place has great sandwiches! It's a little dark in there, but the food makes it worth the 'medieval times feel'!

Rose Subs has been my go to for subs for about the last 8 yrs. They have the best bread hands…read moredown, A nice chewy crust and not too soft middle so your sandwich doesn't sog out. You get a lot of meat for your money here. My favorite is the Big Vinny and it's our usual order but the Gobbler Turkey with the avocado on it is really good too. Also very important to note; on the rare occasion I have had a problem with the order not being right, when I call them and let them know they have ALWAYS sent out a replacement for free. Any issue I had mentioned to them was always rectified.

A beautiful gem in this fecal-stain of a city…read more Rose subs is a great place that actually uses amazing ingredients. Where they are getting them in this cultural wasteland is beyond me, but I don't think I'd care if they were shaving the meat straight off of cat carcass at this point. Wisconsin has come close to breaking me with its disgusting flyover trash cuisine, and Rose Subs was the last branch I managed to grab before the fall shattered my neck. Their sides are delicious and the subs themselves are generous. Their sub rolls actually taste fresh! The sandwich composition is very neat; my favorite sub there, the no-holds-barred Roseworks, manages to stay completely intact and EVEN TIDY! Despite having smoked ham, roast beef, turkey, Capicola, Genoa Salami, Provolone cheese, onions, tomato, lettuce, mayo and Italian vinaigrette! I can't believe a sub like this exists in this hellhole! And at $7.25?! The gods have seen my plight and are smiling down on me. Rose Subs was their way of letting me know they still exist. I've only dealt with one mistake here that was rectified immediately and without complaint on their end. (I didn't get something that I paid for. In this city? Asking for what you paid for is usually a crime that gets a snide yank to wrinkle their nose at you.) They behave respectfully, they make good food, and they have delivery options on Eatstreet. Very convenient! Unfortunate, weary travelers: Rose Subs is your spiritual fox hole. Sandwiches may not be high culture, but they will protect your spirit from the onslaught of crushing misery that is the food scene of Oshkosh. Stop in or order from Eatstreet, you will not be disappointed.
