Went there for lunch with friends the other day. Was able to be seated immediately. The waitress was right there, got the order, got the drinks. Pretty quick. I haven't been sure what to eat and she made a suggestion about a spicy chicken salad and it was delicious. The music was a little loud and a little country and I'm more of a rock 'n' roll guy from what I can't complain too much because I like my rock 'n' roll loud. What I enjoy here is the one pound hamburger with no bun. I get the lettuce tomato, add mayo, ketchup, cheese. Then a small order of bone in wings dressed in BBQ sauce. Went in for some wings for lunch on a Monday. Not busy, but server and host were friendly and attentive. Didn't have to wait for refills. Wings were fried nicely, not overly sauced. Very pleased with the flavor and crispness. I ended up taking a few of the wings from a 10 piece, and a few extra mozzarella sticks home with me, but one thing I noticed is that there really isn't enough Ranch for 10 wings, if I finished them there. Rule of thumb is 1 ranch for 6 wings in most wing joints. The mozz sticks were a bit disappointing as they just don't melt in the middle. That rather defeats the purpose. The breading might be a bit thick for the fry time. For what it is, though, Fricker's is a good wing joint. I prefer unbreaded wings, with a crispy skin, and that's what they did, well. Okay, I have loved Frickers for the past 35 years and became addicted on South Reynolds Road in SW Toledo / Maumee back in the day. But to this day, I constantly find excuses to hit the Frickers in Richmond, IN on my way back & forth to Dayton / Ludlow Falls, and don't even get me started on the Troy, OH, or North Dayton / Little York Road locations! The wings, the tenderloins, the beers, the sauces, the atmosphere: where do I start? My one complaint is that Broad Ripple would be a great place for a second IN location and would save me a 65-mile commute! Come on folks! HORRIBLE lunch Started out with my Diet Pepsi being off. Had to just change to iced tea. White Chicken Chili was disgusting. Honestly looked & tasted like it was the bottom of pot leftovers. My fish sandwich was over cooked & your basic frozen fish. Tarter sauce was good. Onion straws were very good! The worst was the "Fricker's Ray's Big Frickin' Fried Bologna & Cheese Sandwich. It was 3 very thin slices of Bologna. They appeared to be deep fried, burnt on over half of the outside edges. Unreal! My credit card says "See ID" on the signature line, so I always put my drivers license with our bill & my credit card. The waitress picks it all up & asks me if I want this back (she was holding out my license.) Shocked & confused I said "Yes, I'll want it back eventually, but aren't you going to check it?" Stopped in here for lunch. It was our first time coming here since we moved to Troy. The place is alive and vibrant even in the lunch hours. The place has a typical sports bar feel but places it's own touch on it. Our service was fast and on point! The best part of the whole meal was the pretzel loaves with beer cheese. They were the best I've had. The beer cheese was great, you could really taste that subtle hint of beer. A great non expensive place to eat, especially with kids because they eat for free! Three times I've been here in the last year and a half, and three times not a single person even acknowledges that I'm there. Let me note that it's not even that busy at all either time. Everyone of the workers look lost, and I'm not sure I even saw one worker who looks like they even care a little bit about their job or serving customers, I think they'd rather chit chat with the regulars. This last time I sat there for almost ten minutes before I gave up and left. Clearly it's horribly managed and their employees obviously have zero incentive to care even a little bit. read more

I have only been to this Frickers location three times total. This last time will be the last. I came in with a group of four; including a younger child, who wasn't offered a coloring page. This in the grand scheme of things isn't a huge deal, but just adds to the other issues that arose through the duration of our visit. We were greeted promptly by a friendly enough server (Rachal), she took our drink order, bringing my friend the wrong drink. She gave us ample time to check out the menu and was very patient with us. We finally made our decisions, and ordered...she messed with her facial piercing the entire time she was taking our order. GROSS. Anyways, our order came out correctly; however, my friends salad had shells of egg in it, my other friends wings were cold, while her daughters cheese balls were scalding hot (how do you go from one extreme to the next with fried foods?), and my Bud Light was EXTREMELY skunky (blow out your lines!). We didn't complain, because to us these were minor issues. I now wish I would have. We then went to play in the game room, still drinking our beers after paying our check...I also discovered there was a "dart room." I was excited because even though I am terrible at darts, I still love to play. Big mistake. The floor is deplorable, sticky and disgusting to say the least. I'm not sure if they just don't mop it or what the deal is, but I ended up having to trash my flip-flops after arriving home. The restrooms were the nicest part of our visit, until I encountered two servers (not ours) on my way out acting like they were cleaning, taking selfies in the mirror and talking about how awful their customers are. They didn't know anyone was in the restroom UNTIL I came out of the stall. I know servers talk shit about their customers, but at least be smart enough to look under the stalls before doing so. DUH! Last but not least, as we were leaving, mind you we already paid we witnessed our server sitting at a table by the bar eating talking to the bartender, I had sent my friend over with out 20% tip (which wasn't exactly deserved after all that) to find out that she was complaining to the bartender that we had left her "nothing" on the table. We arrived on a Sunday evening around 4:30-5 with a large group. There were 7 adults, 2 kids, and 2 babies. The hostess said we could seat ourselves but when we said we had a large party she just pointed over her shoulder to an area we could sit. We found two tables all the way in the back that would seat us but had not been cleaned yet. We ended up clearing one of the tables and wiping it down ourselves. We waited a good 5-7 min before greeted by our hostess who graciously took our appetizer orders and then disappeared for the next half hour. We had to ask to place our food order which she wouldn't take until our appetizers came out. We then had to wait another 20-30 minutes for our food. A couple of guys ordered burgers and boneless wings they were cold and another guy didn't get his burger at all so we had to wait for his food to come out. All in all we spent almost 1 1/2hrs in this restaurant for crappy food and crappy service. Will not be eating there again. read more

Ok. Where do I start? Walked in with my friends and my child (who is four and wasn't offered the crayon and coloring page she often looks forward to) on a weekday for lunch. Not crowded at all. I asked for an unsweet tea, no lemon. I got lemon flavoring. Ended up swapping it out for a beer only for the waitress to leave the tea sitting there on the edge of the table the entire time. My chicken was cold but my daughter's cheeseballs were hot (figure out the timing already, kitchen people). My friends salad contained egg shell. And my other friends Bud Light tasted funky. Our server was friendly. Wish she didn't play with her face piercing though. We went to play some games on the arcade side, then went over to play darts where all of our shoes STUCK to the floor. My girlfriend ended up throwing her flip flops away. It was disgusting! I can't even exaggerate this. The whole game of darts, there was a server going in the bathroom every few minutes to get on her phone. Does she not realize customers use that bathroom too? On the way out, we were heading to drop the tip off (20% is fair for the service we received) only to see the server bitching about us not leaving a tip. We hadn't even left the building and she was bitching right in front of us. We will never go here again. Good thing I'm not a health inspector. The last visit the chicken we ordered came out cold ( not even like warm) we flagged down our waitress and requested a "fresh" order of the chunks, minutes later we received the same basket if chicken that had been microwave heated. We don't microwave food at home so why would we want to go out and over pay for reheated chicken chunks.. That was out last visit and will not be returning. For a chain that prides themselves on chicken wings, my 10 pc breaded wings were soggier than the Sunday paper out on the driveway in the middle of a rainstorm. I could only eat two of them. For the type of place that this is, we were pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. It's definitely bar food, but it was done well. Our service was great and the prices were low.
