Sharing for safety (not my story, but absolutely credible): Last night . . . I just worked a 12.5-hour shift in the ER. Im in Van Wert, Ohio. I'm two hours from home, so I'm staying in a hotel. Exhausted, I decide to grab a bite and a beer before heading back. I went to this local sports bar, walk in, and take a seat at the bar. Before I can even sit down, heads turn, people staring from the left side of the bar. And in my head, I already thinking: "Here we fucking go." But I keep my cool. I ask this the lady to the left if anyone's sitting in the open chair, she says no, so I sit. I'm browsing the tap list, trying to decompress. Not even 30 seconds go by before I hear the same lady say "Trump." A group of about six or seven people are with her are chatting. Then I hear a woman murmur, "Ehh, no. I'd never let him touch me." Seconds later, a man responds, "Well, scoot closer to me then." And just like that, the woman shifts her chair away from me. I'm still trying to act unfazed, looking at the TV playing the Cubs game, playing on my phone, interacting only with the bartender. Then again, from my left, more Trump talk. Someone on the screen is wearing a red MAGA hat. The woman says, "I wonder how they feel about him wearing that hat there." A man replies, "He shouldn't give a fuck what anybody says." She whispers, "We probably shouldn't say this stuff too loud around here. Someone might get offended." He answers, "That's his problem." At this point, I can't even concentrate on the menu. All I can think about is how I've been showing up here, caring for this same community, doing my best in their only ER, and this is how they really think of people who look like me. I'm nearly done with my beer when the couple beside me asks for their check. They stand to leave, say goodbye to the group beside them, and that's when I hear it: "Don't forget your niggers." My heart stopped. Blood rushed to my face. Time froze. Do I say something? Throw my beer? Walk out? Fight? It felt like an eternity, but it was less than a second. My head doesn't turnn towards them. I just keep looking up at the TV. Someone murmured what sounded like a correction and then louder: "I said his Nickers!" And they all laughed like it was the funniest thing they'd ever heard. I sat there, stunned, feeling every emotion at once rage, humiliation, fear, heartbreak. I knew I had to leave. The bartender came back, asked if I was ready to order food. I told her I'd just take the check. I paid. Got up. Walked toward the door. TVs were blasting. Music playing. Noise everywhere. And just as I pushed the door open, someone shouted clear as day: "NIGGER." I stutter stepped, tucked my head down, and I walked to my car in utter disbelief. I sobbed. Sobbed from frustration. From rage. From sadness. From exhaustion. From fear. How is this the world I live in? No one in that whole town knows me. But because of the color of my skin, they felt entitled to break me down. Humiliate me. Push me. Provoke me. Try to turn me into a headline. And you know what? Not a single person in that bar stood up. Said a word. Spoke out. Not the waitress. Not another patron. No one said a thing. And the crazy part? I still had my scrubs on. Not that racists care what you do for a living. But it's just so ironic to me. One day, I might be the nurse keeping them or someone they love alive. And they couldn't care less about my life. So again I ask, Are we great yet? read more

Food is affordable, and not the WORST, but certainly not the best. I haven't ordered food from them in a little while, but the last time I did, I got their hottest heat bone in wings, and something else (I can't remember, honestly). The wings were hardly sauced and teeny tiny - like a bite a piece. They were cooked well but again, nothing to write home about. If I recall my husband liked what he got, but my sister wasn't a huge fan of her food. That said - it was a big order for multiple people and kids and it was made really quickly and people were friendly. My only gripe is the food, but with SUCH a huge menu I can't imagine it's possible to perfect every single item, so you kinda get what you pay for with some things. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to return, BUT it also just could have been an off day, who knows? Maybe I'll give em another shot at some point. read more

Somehow ended up on the south side of town and this seemed the best option for food and sport. It does have plenty of big screens for multiple games. The service itself was alright but nothing special. Food seemed to be basically average but was fairly reasonably priced. Unless you have a couple of hours to wait after you order just get take out! The slow service is enough for us to avoid it all together! The restaurant was only about half full if that...we ordered our food and waited almost an hour and a half to get it! The worst part was when it FINALLY got to our table it wasn't even warm! We definitely won't be back to dine in because this has been our experience the last 3 times in 6 months we have had the exact same experience! Arrived for lunch at 11:55 am on Friday. There were only 3 other people in the restaurant - Should have been my first clue. The waitress took our order right away. We both ordered soup with our lunch and she asked if we wanted the soup brought out right away. We said yes please. We then waited 25 minutes before seeing her again. She would've walked right past, but I stopped her and asked how the soup was coming. She said they were almost out, so they had to make a new batch. 10 minutes later, when she finally did bring the soup, I had the clam chowder and my wife had Chicken noodle. The chicken noodle actually wasn't bad although it lacked seasoning. The clam chowder on the other hand was the opposite. It had so much pepper, I'm guessing, Cayenne pepper, it was inedible. I also had the Frick'in Shrimp. it was so heavily breaded, and the shrimp were so small, I felt like I was just eating deep fried breading. My wife had a hot turkey sandwich, which she felt was very good with a very generous portion of sliced turkey breast. I have eaten at this location before and would also tell you that their burgers are actually very good. So my recommendation would be to stick with either a burger, or the hot turkey sandwich, and use caution when venturing beyond these basics. read more

Fricker's is my neighborhood bar. It's a great place to have a beer or other adult beverage, sit down and watch a game. Service is ok... the wings are ok... honestly I have had better. But I love the place, it's comfortable... has plenty of tv's and is close by to where I live. It's the bar I watch the most recent super bowl at. Definitely had a great time! There are things to love besides that about this bar: 1) I love how they put cinnamon on the rim of your glass when you ask. Angry Orchard + cinnamon rim = amazing! 2) They have good quesadillas 3) On Sunday's they make a special fried chicken tenders. I think it's made with buttermilk. Omg! They are amazing! Loud and reheated frozen bar food. We bought dessert and it actually was still frozen. I will go anywhere else in town other than here.

This place is the worst Frickers in the entire chain. Waitresses are rude and lazy. The place is insanely loud. The rap music from the kitchen is louder than the jukebox. But, worst of all is the food. The food is downright disgusting. No one in this restaurant cares about customer's experience whatsoever. read more

After spending 90 mins here and only taking 15 to eat, the rest was spent waiting. Had to ask for everything....napkins, silverware, refills. All the food didn't come out at the same time. Spent a $100 on food and it was so not worth it. So disappointed and upset we spent that much. It wasn't busy at all. read more

Was there a couple months ago with a party of 8. Not impressed. First time there and last. The food took a long time and the place was not clean. There was food on the floor around every table and the floor was sticky from something along with the table tops. Really? Take a little more pride! The food was just ok. Missy our server failed to treat us with respect our entire visit at the restaurant. after asking for blue cheese for a sandwich she gave a very rude response and then left us sitting there for 30 minutes waiting for it. then when she brought the other plates the failed to switch them out for clean ones after having ranch and cheese all over two plates. and left us waiting for a beer for 45 minutes. she made our night very un enjoyable and I was not pleased with how I was treated. read more

Get this out-of-the-way first... The boneless wings were kinda lame. They were skinny and dry and I was glad that they were on special for really cheap price today -- and I wasn't even buying the dinner tonight. It really didn't matter cuz the boneless we just chalked up as a failed experiment. Now for the rest of the meal.... my colleague and I (both sales guys who eat at a lot of restaurants) each got the frikkin chicken sandwich and we both thought it was frikkin awesome. The chicken was plump and juicy, the bun was the right size and fresh, the lettuce & tomato were cool and cheese was just hot enough to be melty. Great food........for the price! On this visit I was here on a monday. The special was .50 cent boneless wings. I decided to try a couple of new sauces on the menu that they offer. They do require that you order the wings in multiples of 10 so the minimum you can order on .50 cent Mondays is actually 10 wings for $5. I ordered 5 wings of the bourbon molasses and 5 wings of the garlic parmesean. I was told that normally that I could not order multiple sauces on a 10 wing order. The bartender just mentioned this and still took the order as I stated it. As a traveling sales person I did think that this rule is not friendly to the person dining alone. I tried the bourbon and molasses sauce and the garlic parmesean. The stand out was the bourbon molasses sauce which was quite tasty. It tastes similar to a jerk sauce minus cloves. The garlic parmesean sauce was also good and tasted just like a garlic butter parmesean breadstick from your local Pizza Hut. Although i have eaten here several times i have never posted a review but due to covid i felt this would be an appropriate time. Right now they have several good deals. We ordered the 50 wings for $29.99. They have the same deal for bone in or boneless. Called in the order and the girl on the phone was very friendly and courteous. They called to let us know the food was ready. We had the little kicker gar par and sweet chili. Wings were excellent with the right amount of sauce. Hopefully they can open soon but until they can take advantage of this really good deal. read more

We ate here once and in short the services was good and prompt but the food IMO was just average. This is a sports bar first that serves food. I had the Baby Back ribs and boneless wings dinner which came with fries. The baby back ribs were good although I've had better. The boneless wings are something i wouldn't order again. I've never ate boneless wings so maybe had i chose the regular wings they would of been OK. They definitely cant stand beside Buffalo Wild Wing's that's for sure. With that being said i wouldn't order the wings again. Service was exceptional and this place was annoyingly loud but hey its a Sports Bar i suppose. They have plenty of booze and big screens. Overall if you want a few drinks and wanna watch some games on huge TVs its great. Food is very acceptable but for me its not a place i am interested in eating at as a priority. 3 couples met here for dinner, none of us from Van Wert. Very average chain food. Wish I had read a previous reviewers comments on the boneless wings, could have saved myself the trouble. None of the food came out particularly hot. We enjoyed the atmosphere, all being sports fans. Lots of televisions. Enough going on around us without it being too loud to talk. We pickup food from here quite frequently. My husband and I love the sweet chili sauce. While my husband prefers the boneless I say the traditional is the only way to go. They are different style than a lot of the other wing places however I think they are bigger and better. Then fried pickles are good but recommend only order when dining in (as with most fried food it gets soggy when packing in a to go container). Would they compete in a large metro area? Maybe not, but considering that this is small town USA it's good quality food. We haven't used the kids eat free but for families it is probably another positive. Service: the reason for the downgraded rating. What happened on Dec 13th is unforgettable. We ordered a very large take out cater type order. 150 wings for a party event. I called on Tuesday of that week to place the large order for Sat pickup. When my husband arrived at 430pm for the designated pickup we were told that they had forgot to put our order in the que and if we still wanted them it would be a 20 min wait. This meant that our dinner time listed on our party invite was not going to happen. Okay still somewhat forgivable. When I called the manager to voice my frustration, after stating that they had a very busy day the manager still had not offered any sort of discount or credit. When I again expressed my disappointment he actually stated "I have already apologized. Perhaps if you would have called to remind us of your order..." Okay I admit I dropped the F bomb on him. For a manager to actually tell a customer that they should have called to remind him to do his job is flat out terrible managing. In the end he gave us a heavy discount but I still cannot forget the fact that they apparently employ what in my opinion is a worthless manager who I hope isn't living up to their corporate values. read more

Took forever to get greeted, took forever to get three waters while the table next to us got beers before us, took forever for our food, no napkins, no one asked how we were doing with our food. Saturday late afternoon, seated myself. Waitress seemed to be out of it, when asked questions she would pause for long periods of time and seemed like she wasn't aware of what's going on. Ordered the wings & ribs, the ribs were very good as well as the wings. Food was 4 stars. The service however was 2 stars. When eating hot wings, I prefer to not have to wait long periods of time before getting a refill. The place was loud, football was on which was fine however the kids there who were playing the video games were loud and throwing the balls at the wall. (I blame poor parenting not the restaurant.
