Used to love it here but the service and food have gone way down hill. Baked goods are still tasty and coffee is strong so thats a plus. They are woefully understaffed and you can see the help on their smartphones in the back kitchen. Our breakfast took over 45 min to come. They took forever to brew more coffee and then left the large container to sit in the counter until several customers who were waiting finally picked it up and brought it over to the coffee station. Stopped in there for the first time for coffee and a mid-afternoon sweet treat. He got a chocolate chip muffin, and I got an adorable little lemon meringue tart. The lovely woman helping us was properly masked and very attentive. She even offered to heat the muffin. It wasn't necessary because it was yummy - rich and chocolaty but miraculously not too sweet. The lemon meringue tart was the best few bites ever! Not too sweet, not too tart, with a perfectly proportioned crust. Next time I'll need more than one. Coffee was excellent too :) read more

Covid review: you order at the display (where all the baked goods are), staff all wearing masks. You go to tables that are spaced apart - buzzer when food is ready, they provide the silverwhere, you bus your own plates. We got the bagel lox and chicken parm type thing sandwich. Food came quick. Bagel lox was incredible, huge portion, savory, peas complement well, as good as any I've had. The chicken sandwich thin and crispy, bread toasted, good balance of sauce but not too soggy. No one said anything when I walked in. Asked for a table after several minutes. Wait 10 minutes, finally went in to place my order. 30 minutes go by, finally get my coffee. Another 10 minutes still no sandwich. There were only a few other customers. Over priced for what you get for sure. Taste good. Environment is good except the politics blasting on the tv. If you have all day to wait for a sandwich I still wouldn't recommend going here. read more

The Gem of all hidden Gems This cafe has so much to offer and the food is top notch with a variety of flavors. In-house made treats, breads, pastries, bagels and much more!! The salt bagels which are my favorite and hard to find are perfect with the lox. They also have the coolest party room upstairs and I can't wait to book a party there. what happened to Frida's? stopped in for lunch and ordered the fried chicken sandwhich. Menu is extremely limited which was surprising. Sandwich was unseasoned, bun was thick brioche, and not enough sauce to compliment the chicken. Fridas used to be crowded and menu was large and food was delicious. one table of people in the entire place and their breakfast sat on the counter for at least 5 minutes ( still there when I left) which equals cold eggs. Will never go back as I'm assuming from the lack of patrons most people have come to the same conclusion. This place used to be so wonderful...such a shame. read more

Super cute spot for breakfast - we had their bagel with lox and a plate with eggs, potato pancake, toast. Honestly the star of the breakfast was the toast - made fresh in-house, really awesome stuff. The bagel with lox was solid, bagel was really great. Potato pancake had some delicious seasoning and fried to perfection. Also tried their pumpkin pie latte because #fall, which was great. Dog friendly patio outside with water bowls and plenty of space. Only two complaints - the cream cheese for the bagel/lox was layered super thick on each side, had to deconstruct and scrape some off so that I wasn't eating pure cream cheese in each bite - music on the patio outside was blaring Michael Buble-esque tracks at 7:30AM, somewhat hard to have a quiet conversation over coffee read more

The food was good- I ordered the breakfast special and I thought the chef did a really great job with the eggs which some places cant seem to get quite right, believe it or not. The hash browns were excellent! My bagel was really delicious, chewy and perfectly toasted. My problem was with the staff. They seemed disinterested in being at their job and their customer skills are really lacking. I could say its a sign of the younger generation, but I've been served by some stellar young people at all sorts of different establishments. The young women working here are distracted and more interested in getting on their cell phones and socializing then they are doing the one thing they were hired to do - serve the public with a smile and a show of appreciation. Incredibly disappointed today. We drove upwards of 40 mins to get here to experience Fridas. When we approached the counter, it took several minutes of having 3 separate girls' backs to us to be addressed, and once we were, we were made to feel embarrassed. My husband asked for a mimosa, as it is displayed on their IG and their OWN BEVERAGE FLYER AT THE FRONT that they offer beer, wine, and cocktails. He was told they don't have the stuff to make them. He then asked for a type of beer that is displayed as well, only to be given a dirty look and THEN explained that their liquor license expired, so they don't know when they will serve again. Okay. Fine. Maybe make mention of this? Or remove from your flyer? Onto my attempt at ordering. "I would like an everything bagel ---" - We don't have any. "Okay, may I have an asiago bagel?" -Out of those too. "Do you have scallion cream cheese?" -No we're out of that too. "Do you have any croissants left?" -No. -We have plain bagels, multigrain and some good onion and bacon cream cheese! "No, thanks...I will step away and take another look at the menu to figure out something else, I dont want to keep these other people waiting." -"Uh..okay ::eye roll:: Husband and I went back to check menu, realized 2 different days of lunch specials were up; then realized we didn't know what else they were out of, and opted to leave before we set ourselves up to be embarrassed and let down again. So SO disappointing. So rude. Absolute shameful to make your customers feel embarrassed and stupid because YOU failed. To the brats at the counter who let us ramble like morons because we didn't know what YOU failed to inform your customers of...you should be embarrassed. Not me. read more

12/30/2014 CONs:I went yesterday. My chicken soup was way too salty. But even worse,there was a piece of egg shell and a small stone in my falafel wrap. I bit down on them when I took my last bite. I'm at a loss to understand about the stone. Was the lettuce not properly washed? Or was the stone packaged in with the chick peas? The wait was long. Perhaps 15 or 20 minutes. They apologized. When I complained about the food, the wait staff spoke to the chef and offered me a complimentary pastry. I accepted a bottled water instead. PROs: A beautiful space. Nice ambiance.Conveniently located near town facilities. Great alternative to nearby fast food joints and delis.Ordering process is much like Paneras. A friendly, young staff. An excellent cup of coffee. The food is beautifully presented and appears to be very fresh. The food was tasty, but more care and efficiency are needed in its preparation. Worth another visit. My first impression of Frida's was good, the food looked tasty and they had a nice selection. I really can't complain about anything to be honest. I ordered a healthy chicken sandwich that had a balsamic spread, pretty tasty. I ordered the broccoli quish for my daughter. The potatoes inside of it could have been cut smaller and the dish could had been salted a bit more, but it's healthy so, yeah lol. Stopped here after my son's college x-country meet. My husband and I ordered the wrap of the day, which was roast beef, cheddar cheese, spinach, and chipotle mayo. The wait time was very quick. However, the sandwiches we ordered were not what what we got. Instead we got ham, cheese, mayo. spinach tomato. The ham was unbearably salty. I couldn't finish it. We needed to get back to CT so getting another sandwich wasn't an option. Not worth the $12 per sandwich. We have tried this restaurant at least 5 times unfortunately today will be our last visit. Frida's is a quaint, quiet location with a pleasant atmosphere however the kitchen can't seem to get the food out timely and the wait staff is horrible!!! We had to send our meals back twice today as we waited 40 minutes for breakfast to come out and when it did it was ice cold. The waitress took it back to the kitchen begrudgingly (eye roll included) without a word of acknowledgement and when she returned had the same plates we sent back and they were still ice cold. We again sent them back to the kitchen and this time when they were returned to us still cold we were told that the kitchen staff had used a lot of ingredients to make these plates and if we were unhappy with them we could order something different!!!!! There were no apologies, no food was compensated and no excuses offered. We told the waiter we would not be returning EVER and no manager ever appeared to acknowledge our complaints. IN FACT OUR WAITER WAS PRETTY FLIP THAT WE WOULD NEVER RETURN. This restaurant needs a new manager as well as competent help. So sad such a waste!!! read more

We came here at the recommendation of a nearby establishment. It is a clean place. The food comes out quickly. I got the special of the day which was the sriracha cheeseburger burrito with fries. It was really good. We were super hungry. so, it could have been that. But, it was something unique. something I can't recall having in the past and it really hit the spot. I grew up eating burgers and this one hit all the taste notes and the kick of sriracha did the trick. Note: a lot of items up here like sriracha. it's a thing we noticed with the menu items. Street parking was easy for a Tuesday afternoon. unsure how it would be on a normal evening or weekend. it felt like small town usa. Good and service is embarrassingly bad...half of our food came and we were told the other half's would be right out. 15 minutes later after half the table was finished with their food the other half of the table still didn't get theirs. My dads eggs Benedict was a hard boiled egg, when he sent it back and complained they had no idea what he was talking about. They didn't even know the eggs are supposed to be runny, I'm sorry but who doesn't know that? I went to Fridas for the first time. I was not impressed with the 'diner' old greasy smell when I entered and there were flies landing on the bakery items...but that said...I still ordered lunch. After grocery shopping i called Frida's to place a to go order, on Sunday at 8:46am. I ordered a western Omelet, bacon,egg and cheese on a roll and egg and bacon on a roll. I noticed they were not so busy for a sunday morning, 2 tables downstairs and i think 3 upstairs. I saw 3 people working in kitchen and 2 behind counter. I waited for over a half an hour to get my food, i left at 930am. When i got home i saw none of the items had cheese and there was no salt used on anything. Its very disappointing as we like to support local area businesses. read more

I visited a few weeks ago... I am sad to say that I'm disappointed in the upkeep of their once marvelous playroom. The ceiling must of had a leak or something because Sheetrock was on the floor/foam mat. The toys were all dirty looking and dingy. The play kitchen was falling apart. I.e. the microwave door hinge wasn't secure. I just don't feel comfortable bringing my kid to play in a playroom that seems so neglected. I hope they revamp their playroom soon. read more

My son took me here due to me living out of state. I had a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. The brioche bun was a nice twist. The burger was cooked to perfection. I wasn't disappointed with anything. It had a nice atmosphere and it was quiet and cozy. I would never have had seen this place as it's not directly on the main thoroughfare. I had a beverage of an unsweetened passionfruit iced tea. This homebrewed tea is delicious. It's rare for me to find this variety of tea and once again they didn't disappoint. Whenever I'm back in town I will definitely seek them out again. read more

I don't know how to start but here it goes. I have longed for a bakery that I can sit and my kid can be entertained for a LONG time. Upstairs they have a kids play room. It is a bit of a drive but I love it here. There's great room for dining, it reminds me of the old New Paltz, when it was unique and quirky not forced (eaning, the ambience is nice and is naturally nice). The desserts here are great. My favorite is the tiramisu cupcake and the jam cookies (with the nuts). They have Boylan sodas, San Pellegrino sodas and Sprite/Coca-Cola. They also have Sapporo beer. There's great selection for lunch, salads included. I'd give 10 stars if I could. I hope it says as nice as it is now. read more

Fridas is a hidden gem located in the village of Milton NY. They have EVERYTHING covered here. Coffee is HOT not lukewarm....food is fresh, delicious. Service great. The variety of food options is great. Bakery treats too. They have thought of every detail !! Need forks, knives ,spoons,napkins,sugar,cream,salt ,pepper, the list goes on....unlike most restaurants that drop the ball on such things. Exp. Order coffee gotta ask for a spoon, sugar, cream. Here it's right there. Clean, urban country atmosphere. Love the back deck to sit. The staff is attentive and helpful. I could keep going with my list of reasons I gave you five stars !!! My friend Jerry Starpoli turned me on to this place, and met me here for breakfast before work. I was immediately taken by how wonderful the environment is. Clean, modern cafe style with both upstairs and downstairs seating. Music is comfortable, lighting just right. I ordered a decaf coffee and a fresh toasted bagel with cream cheese and lox. One word, fantastic! Every bite reflected the effort of on premises, homemade goodness! Everything they offer is fresh, made on site. Even the OJ is squeezed to order! The staff is super friendly and knowledgable of their goodies. My order was $9.70, which seems high, but anything with fresh lox brings a price! I've had their Huevos Rancheros. The corn tortillas were hard. I couldn't even cut them with the knife I had to ask for. It was a serrated knife even. And the ingredients were sparse: the corn and beans didn't even amount to a 1/4 cup. Another time, I had to wait 20 minutes for breakfast sandwich. This place really needs better management. I'm not sure what has happened in terms of ownership or management, but Frida's has been very disappointing this spring (2021) First off, the attitude of counter help is lacking. Bagel choice has diminished and so have cream cheese / accompaniment offerings. The bakery cases are not filled and the muffins and items they do have are smaller and more expensive!! I loved this place and was a loyal customer for several years. I'm very sad to see this turn in the business!! read more

MIXED FEELINGS! Very confusing set-up while ordering. PRO's: Ambiance, overall lay-out, quality of food, healthy options, gourmet preparations/combinations, home-cooked taste, wide variety. CONs: Confusing system for ordering, staff appears somewhat frazzled, confused and disorganized, no available menus, computerized menu monitor is S-L-O-W to scroll down, buzzer system for retrieving your order. I'm hoping that Frida's is just experiencing some newbie growing pains and that they will get their "cons" worked out with time. The renovated building is beautiful and the layout is well-designed. But upon entering at 10:00 a.m., we were waiting in a queue of eight (8) in front of the counter for someone to even acknowledge us; there were NO menus available, other than two very slow-scrolling computer monitors (mounted near the ceiling, but views are blocked by hanging lights and shelving stacked on top of the deli/bakery cases), which, if you don't know what you want, is a horrible way to try and figure out what they have available for sale, as opposed to quickly scanning a stationary menu board or a menu. We felt confused as to what they even had to offer, other than what was in front of us within the cases. Staff seems nice enough, but was clearly uninformed about some of the products we inquired about and seemed frazzled when dealing with the line of 8 people waiting to place their order at the counter. We were given a buzzer after we placed the order to be notified when our food was ready to pick up at the counter. Frida's was "out" of two of the items I attempted to order, so I had to rethink my meal plan twice. The large cups of coffee served in cute, home-style large country mugs were a nice touch, as were the rest of the plates, bowls and dishes. The silver ware was available at each table within a mason jar- unusual, but OK. The food did have a home-cooked taste, but could have used a little more flavor within the two soups we tried and the Falafel wrap was kind of dry and could have used more "stuffing". I did get a few of the cold salads available by the pound from the deli case. Those were really fantastic: Homemade hummus, curry chicken salad, smoked whitefish salad and the beets & walnut salads were delicious. I will be back, but I hope they figure out a better system with the ordering and delivery of the food, otherwise, I might not be a long-term customer. read more

I hate to give such a low rating but I have been here multiple times and con's out way the pro's. Pro's large play space for kids upstairs Con's -no organized ordering system -it takes forever to get food! whether ordering for take out, delivery or in person the service is sooooo slow. -they are often out of menu items. The last time I called to place an order. The person with whom I spoke took my number and then I ordered a kale salad for pick-up and was placed on hold for a minute to see if there was enough kale. There wasn't any kale so I said no worries, what about spinach? At that point I was placed on hold again to see if there was any spinach, this time I was on hold for a good 3-5 minutes. Then, the phone was disconnected. At that point, I pulled into Kirky's Deli right on 9W and he made a salad filled with romaine lettuce, roasted red peppers, olives, and banana peppers and it was half the price I would have paid at Frida's. read more

Great spot for delicious food, coffee, and a kid-friendly atmosphere. We brought our ten month-old specifically to check out the play area, and it did not disappoint. All bathrooms have change tables, there's a little set of sinks outside of the toy room, and actual trays on the high chairs (IKEA). We're about twenty minutes north of Milton, but we'll definitely be making the trip again soon! read more
