Very cozy and relaxing space here, definitely a place to get a coffee and just vibe. The service here was so friendly and very sweet, offering suggestions and explaining menu items. My iced tea tropical green tea, was sweet enough and mostly tasted of guava. The chocolate croissant was incredibly delicious, the chocolate filling was great and plenty sweet without being overly. Loveee this place! The view from the place overlooking the Hudson River is beautiful. I have been wanting to visit this place for a couple of months. Thankfully it was today and I loved it! The ambiance is beautiful. Neat. I got to meet the owner's granddaughter Gigi. She was the sweetest. She runs the place. We arrived at the place around 3 pm, and all the baked goods were sold out. We were lucky to try the almond croissant and the chocolate orange biscotti. Both were yummy. We tried their hazelnut coffee and macadamia nut coffee - both were great. Great coffee and ambiance near the Hudson River. The staff were friendly and offered many options for coffee. Around the shop are small comfortable tables for working or reading. The two times I went, there were a few patrons with toddlers playing with games/toys making the vibe less conducive for quietly reading or working, FYI. The baristas served not only great tasting coffee, but it looked amazing too! I ordered a drip coffee with oat milk and in my second visit, the cortado. The pastries were fresh looking but most had hazelnut or Nutella in them on the first visit (I'm allergic). They had a new selection of pastries on my second trip but sadly I didn't have any. I was really excited to try this place and I am pleased by what I found! The ambience is so nice, great atmosphere, decor, and background music. During my visit, I saw couples grabbing coffee, families (with kids) having breakfast, friends taking coffee to go, and singles working, or just enjoying their coffee - as I was. I was looking for a breakfast sandwich, but unfortunately vegetarian options were limited...so I ordered a pistachio donut that was really good. Definitely one for those with a sweet tooth! I also ordered a vanilla iced latte with oat milk that I really enjoyed! I appreciated that it was not sweet so it balanced well with my donut. And everyone was very friendly. It will likely become my go to for coffee, but I really hope to see more vegetarian options in the future. read more

In the Hudson valley area for the day, we stopped by for some coffee and a break with the kids. The cafe boasts a beautiful new modern construction. We loved the interior design and furniture. I grabbed a flat white and we ordered a croissant for the kids. Everything was fresh and delicious. Gigi was bubbly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. They have a book shelf with children's books as well. Service was fast and extremely friendly. We also loved the view of the river and the Empire State trail! First time here, we were looking for a place to grab a coffee and found Anna Et Pierre. If you haven't been down to the One Dutchess area it can be a little bit of a maze but worth it! There are no actual coffee beans being freshly ground in sight nor any milk being steamed into a silky micro-foam because they seemed to have invested in what looks to be a giant Nespresso Aguila 440 machine for creating the "espresso" and milk-foam, using pre-ground and optionally pre-flavored (yuck) coffee bean "capsules" like the ones used in the cheap consumer machines. This machine choice leads to it tasting more like hotel or office coffee, rather than coffee that people have come to expect of modern coffee shops operating above the level of a gas station or chain coffee shop. Service was great- there were plenty of nice servers, but with this low quality of coffee, I am not sure anyone there could qualify as a barista. Its just people handing you a drink from an automatic machine! Since they seem to have the staff available to actually make good coffee, instead of relying on this automatic machine, they should sell it for scrap, buy the right appliances, and learn to do it right! Nice riverfront property - could be so much better... - Update: the owner responded and suggested I didn't try the coffee - I did, a hazelnut latte - and it was so unpleasant that it made me bother to look up the machine they are using to understand how it could be so off-target from modern coffee shops. The owner did not refute my comments about the milk preparation. Also, I checked the Nespresso website, and it says "flavored coffees are made with 100% naturally occurring flavorings and extracts", so I do not think I was incorrect calling it pre-flavored coffee (to clarify, I thought a hazelnut latte might have a hazelnut simple syrup added after extraction as is common elsewhere). At no point did I use the word "fake," as the owner suggested. I think my original review was fine - it tells others how this product contrasts to modern professional barista-created products. I am sure that it is hard for the owner to hear they invested in infrastructure that is not meeting customer expectations (the Nespresso machine), but, in the event that they ever began losing customers to a competitor, I think I have given them the best direction as to the problem. Since I am writing an update, I will add that the baked goods options were nice and the seating and decor were great. read more

Heard about this new coffee shop from friends and dropped by today to check it out. The location is amazing with riverfront views (so glad to see a business take advantage of our wonderful river). Their pastries are outstanding and include a variety of vegan options from Little Loaf and some from their own baker. I had the chocolate almond croissant and it was beautifully balanced with both taste and texture. We enjoyed taking with Gigi the owner. The vibe encourages you to sit and sip for awhile. We were so sad to be losing Little Loaf from our community, so finding this new spot eased that pain. I hope the rest of our Poughkeepsie community quickly finds this spot too and gives these warm owners the supportive community welcome they deserve. I'll definitely be back! read more

As someone who watches my daily consumption of sugar, I've often been skeptical of flavored varieties. Too often, they heavily rely on sugary syrups and their naturally infused flavored espresso doesn't, which is most appreciated. I also love the set up of the cafe.
