Nice mom and pop Korean fried chicken spot. The wings were nicely flavored and portions were good. Have ordered here a few times already.

Five Guys (Located in Hackensack Commons Strip Mall)…read more450 Hackensack Ave. Hackensack, NJ 07601 Peanuts Little Cheeseburger Five Guys Shake This casual burger restaurant chain has a limited menu with ironically a lot choices. Peanuts: While you are waiting for the main course, help yourself to complimentary peanuts. It was a great way to keep occupied prior to the meal, especially because I always enjoyed physically cracking open the shells. I recommend taking two disposable paper trays; the first tray is for the peanuts and the second tray is for the shells and the red/brown testa that covers each kernel. Just don't go "nuts" and have too many because you'll want to save your appetite for the main course. Little Cheeseburger: This single patty burger was served "all the way." Without any extra charge, I ordered all eight toppings permitted along with a splash of A1 steak sauce. The bun itself did not have the most stellar appearance, but otherwise this burger was a masterpiece because all the fixings blended well together. This burger is little by name, but it is not little by size. Five Guys Shake: Named after the restaurant, this milkshake was ultra thick. Similar to the burger, aerosol whipped cream and mix-in specialty flavors are complimentary. I decided to explore my taste buds by selecting the bacon mix-in. The texture was sweet and salty. Although there were plenty of crunchy bacon bits, many of them weren't chopped small enough and I wasn't able to slurp the bacon through the straw. I would have preferred that this drink be served in a clear plastic cup because plastic tends to keep drinks colder. On a less important note, it also compromises the appearance because I can't see the drink. Although my feeling about the milkshake are "mixed," I will definitely return to Five Guys to purchase their burgers and next time I will try the fries. The menu isn't the biggest, but the variety of toppings and all you can eat peanuts make up for that. #fiveguys #fiveguysburgersandfries #littlecheeseburger #fiveguysshake #baconmilkshake #fiveguyspeanuts #peanuts

I was excited to check out this local sports bar in Lodi after seeing all of the positive reviews…read more Honestly, it was a little underwhelming for me. Maybe I just ordered the "wrong things". Either way, my experience didn't live up to the hype. I visited on a late Saturday night. There's a parking lot behind the restaurant. The entrance can be tricky to find... It's located in the back on the left-hand side. The exterior and interior are both pretty dark, dull, and dingy. It's not the most inviting atmosphere at first. It has a divey, industrial, and rustic vibe to it, but hey... sometimes the best food comes from places that don't look like much. So I try not to judge. It wasn't too busy, and the service was attentive. The menu has your classic American comfort food - wings, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc. They switch it up with daily specials like skirt steak, chicken parm, and pasta. They have a full bar with cocktails, drafts, bottled beers, can ciders, and wines. You can even do a four-beer flight and make it a tasting experience! I ordered: *Dark & Stormy Cocktail [Goslings Dark Rum, Ginger Beer, Lime Juice] ($14) - Not the best one I've had, but it was solid. If you like ginger and rum, this is a must try. The dark rum has hints of caramel which works really well with the spicy ginger beer. The lime juice adds a citrus kick, so it's a really refreshing drink. *Margarita ($18) - As a tequila girly, I've had my fair share of margaritas. This one didn't do it for me. It was a little too sour/tart, which overpowered everything else. *Cubano Sandwich [includes roast pork, black forest ham, swiss cheese, pickles, mayo, and mustard with side of fries] ($16) - I wasn't expecting an authentic Cubano from an American sports bar, so my expectations weren't super high. This was good, but not great. The pork was flavorful, but could've been more tender. I wish there were more pickles and mayo for that extra tangy crunch. The bread was pressed a little too hard, so it was a bit tough to bite through. *Double Blackened Chicken Breast Sandwich [includes pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, red peppers, and red onion on brioche with side of fries] ($18) - This was huge and filling! They did not skimp out on the protein. The brioche bun was soft and buttery. The chicken was well seasoned - smoky and savory with crispy charred edges. BUT... to my disappointment, the inside was dry and not juicy at all. Another small issue was the ratio - There was so much chicken compared to the rest of the toppings, so it wasn't the most cohesive sandwich. It really needed more cheese and chipotle mayo to tie all the flavors together. The fries were the best part - thick, crispy, and golden! It's decent bar food, just not the best I've had. Nothing was bad, but nothing was great or memorable. For the price, I didn't feel it was worth it. I do appreciate that their food is served piping hot and fresh. To be fair, this is probably the perfect spot for beer lovers. I happen to not be one, lol. The burger options sound popular and promising too. I'd consider giving them another shot for Happy Hour or to try a burger, but it's not at the top of my list. Just because it's not the sports bar for me, doesn't mean it won't be the one for you.

There is always a wait at lunchtime regardless if you want to dine in or take out. I have been a fan of what they do for a long time because you just don't see this type of establishments around anymore. They have certainly stood the test of time. Beef patties, smashed with a lot of grilled finely cut onions, then add pickles, American cheese, and some ketchup, on a soft pillowy Martin's potato bread is a can't miss right? This formula has not changed here for decades. Like I said, I really appreciate the deep history. However, if I'm being honest, I wish the beef quality was better and the cook would add a tad more seasoning. For me, their burger has always tasted slightly bland compared to my favorite burger joints. Yet I still come back. Prices are not what it once was either, but what is? It's still very inexpensive. What I consider a large slider rather than a full size burger is still considered good eats in my book. I certainly would stop by when in the neighborhood if the lines are reasonable.

Chain Reaction Part VII: The Habit…read more $8 Gotta Habit Meal Deal: 1/2 Chicken Club Tempura Green Beans Large Fountain Drink Let's get in "the habit" of exploring a cost effective meal deal. Only the $10 Gotta Habit deal is visibly advertised throughout the restaurant, but you will encounter all three Gotta Habit offers on the self-service menu kiosk. I decided to meet in the middle and explore this prix fixe meal. 1/2 Chicken Club: This half sandwich has marinated grilled chicken breast, hickory smoked bacon and fresh avocado on lightly toasted sourdough bread. It's not the most filling, but it will hold you over until dinner time. Tempura Green Beans: If you are looking for the perfect alternative to the classic french fries, you've found it. The outer layer is covered in deep-fried crunchy tempura batter with a soft green bean on the inside. The ranch dressing adds a savory flavor to the side Large Fountain Drink: Wash your meal down with a variety of Pepsi products. The choices are plentiful ranging from soda, iced tea, and limeade. As a bonus, free refills are an option. As another bonus, a pepper station has complimentary peppers for that extra spice. The portion size is perfect for your daily lunch, so get in "the habit" of indulging in this meal deal while it lasts. #thehabit #thehabitburgergrill #gottahabitmealdeals #halfchickenclub #tempuragreenbeans #fountaindrink #pepperstation #thehabitburgerandgrill

Very pretty restaurant, with lots of colors and decorations inside. I was surprised to see their gigantic menu that has so many different kinds of items including burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, arepas, papas, ensaladas, patacons, antojos, bakery, desserts and juices. I order couple of beef empanadas and flan to go. The lady packed up my items right away, super quick service. Beef empanadas were filled with beef and potatoes, with delicious green and spicy mayo sauce on the side. I was blown away by the flan. Such creamy taste yet it was dense. Like other flans it wasn't over baked, so it still had light yellow color instead of dark brown on top. My first visit was great. I am going to stop by again to try the other items in the menu.
