This is a great option within the town of New Milford, that has very few decent options, but still would like to see some improvements. The space is pretty lively and would be a great place to watch a sports event. Appreciate that the space has different types of seating areas from traditional dining tables to a big bar area and a lounge area in the middle. It can get loud in there so I wouldn't go there if you're looking for an intimate vibe. The staff is pretty friendly and do a good job of attending to the patrons. The food is where it was a bit disappointing to me. I can appreciate the wide variety of items on the menu, but not when the quality varies so much. We ordered a few pasta dishes (one that was on the daily special), a few taco dishes, an order of wings and the brussel sprouts. All of the pasta dishes were huge disappoints. They looked like pasta dishes from Applebees. The sauces were very runny and the kids pastas were the most basic pastas that were way overpriced for what they were. My daughter who loves pastas only ate about 1/3 of it and told me she didn't like it. The wings were dry and not saucy enough. The tacos were OK. The brussel sprouts were the only standout dish that we ordered. I liked their extensive draft beer menu though. Lots of variety to choose from and the drinks were fresh. Overall, I'd certainly come back here and hope that I pick some better food choices or a big improvement on the food quality, but a fun place to hang out at. read more

I had my 40th birthday here last Saturday and they did an Amazing job! Our server Nick was Fantastic!! I had a party of 13 and 1 baby. Some of my guests wanted separate checks and he managed to get it all right. He was very attentive! The management was great and kept in touch leading up to my party (I booked almost a month in advance. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food (typical bar food with some flair) and the drinks were strong and some very unique! The atmosphere is fun, casual, a bit loud, but not over the top. Food tastes great overall. The sliders are good but could definitely use a bit more sauce since they were a little dry. I highly recommend getting them with fries though -- that combo is really solid! The servers are very attentive compared to other places. They make sure to get your order right, especially one of the girls who mentioned she's been working there for four years. The staff also checks in to see if you need more food or drinks, which shows they really care about the customer experience. The only downside is parking. We came here for dinner on Saturday night. It was jammed packed, waiting time up to 40 minutes. Luckily they had a closed outdoor area available with heaters on, so we got a table there right away. The inside area seemed very cozy places, with a multiple bar areas, high tables and some couches by the fire place. Different groups were at the restaurant, celebrating different occasions. We started with the Mama;s Empanadas, that came with two big ones. Though the middle part was good, the outer layer of the empanadas were too thick and didn't taste good. For entree, I had to Joanne's Classic burger, that had a good size beef patty, yellow cheese, lettuce and pickles in it. The burned seal on of the bun looked pretty good. I wish they had grilled the bed little bit, cause it got soggy from the sauce and everything in the burger. Though the burger was good, the sliders for my daughter's meal were terrible. The patties were so bland and dry. My wife didn't like her pasta much either. But the best dish of the night was the side of grilled broccoli. The service was really good. Our server and the staff members were very friendly. The dishes came out within short intervals. Despite some of the disappointing dishes, overall the place seemed really well suited for having a good time with companions and a great location for watching sports events together. read more

The staff are all nice and attentive. The host informed us 45 mins wait for inside, but we can sit at patio right away. So we choose the patio. I feel they need to put more heat in the patio area tho. They only have 1 in the center. Food is average. Parmesan crusted chicken with linguine in creamy lemon sauce very lemony. I did not expect that strong citrus flavor. Otherwise the chicken and linguine itself is not bad. Kids burger is a bit dry. Empanadas are not bad, more cheesy than other places. read more

There is a parking lot but gets full fast since its shared with other businesses. Theres a small outdoor seating. Inside theres a bar area and the restaurant a good size. A lot of tvs to watch sports. Ordered quesadilla, had a issue with the food but the waiter fixed everything quickly. Weird the quesadilla didn't come with any dips. It did need a bit of seasoning so had to order sour cream. I ordered the breaded chicken with pasta which was delicious. Would definitely recommend it. read more

It had sliced filet mignon which was soo chewy and tough, I barely ate it-- like half of a half. The steak was sliced but not sliced enough for a sandwich. Imagine a big chunk of steak when you bite into it and literally had to pull and rip the steak with my teeth and fingers. For a sandwich being $22.95, I expected the steak to be soft and easy to bite through, but I had a hard time eating it. I do not recommend this sandwich. Came to River and Henley on a Sunday, as it's been on my list of places to try- so glad I did because it did not disappoint. When you walk into the restaurant, it has a very homey feel with a cool, hip modern touch. The bar is illuminated and the seating throughout the place is unique, high tops, regular tables and a few couches. Our server Jackie was wonderful and offered up some menu recommendations which we appreciate. They have a ton of daily specials, including a very generous happy hour menu. We ordered the macaroni and cheese, which was tasty, the mushroom ravioli, which was new on their menu and delicious, along with the crispy chicken tacos, that were fantastic. Ended the meal with tartufo for dessert and enjoyed every last drop of it. I can't wait to come back during happy hour and try their other menu items. I recently organized a Mom's Night Out event here, and this place didn't disappoint. Amanda was such a great person to have worked with and she made everything so easy. The staff member assigned to us that night, Kayleigh, was also very attentive and helpful. The place was nice, warm and cozy, and we were set up by the window facing the street. The staff also helped out by putting together more tables as the rest of the group trickled in. I enjoyed two rounds of Malibu Rum Breeze and the short rib poutine which was sizable and delicious. The owner and her daughters are lovely people who came over to our table and engaged us in conversation and were wonderful. The drinks are great! They have a list of signature cocktails which are absolutely delicious. We tried at least three of them and they were great. The wings were crispy and well seasoned, and the fried calamari with marinara were well done and not chewy as served in most places. We didn't eat anything else as we mostly went there for drinks but the daughter gave me a couple of slices of margarita pizza to try it and they were thin and well cooked. Quite the delicious appetizer! Next time I will order one. The decor in the place is nice with an industrial feel to it, and a great big fireplace in the center of the restaurant, a pretty cool design. Weekends they have a DJ and sometimes live music. Good for families and friends get togethers. I ordered a raspberry lemon drop martini I believer and although it was tasty and sweet it was super weak-definitely no liquor. I started with a raspberry lemon drop martini that was to die for. Their menu has a wide array of options. We got the Bavarian pretzel and family style truffle fries to start. Both were delicious and hot. We also got the Sara's salad wood fired pizza and enjoyed every single bite. The service was top knotch. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars (wish I could do 4.5) was because the Restaurant has all the cute decor for taking pictures but the cellular service was super weak for both my Verizon friends and my T mobile self. We asked the waitress if there was WiFi and she told us no.. but when we looked there was 4 different Wi-Fi's listed for the place on our phones.
