My dentist took X-rays in June and September and he couldn't see anything. I was not in pain but the tooth just had a weird sensation. My dentist explained that Dr. Ginzler had a microscope and a certain X-ray that was not available in my very well equipped and modern dental office. Uh-Oh. This can't be good, I though to myself. I had a consult with Dr. Ginzler, and he brought me into a room to view the X-rays. He explained what had happened, which matched up exactly with what I had experienced. He showed me my X-ray and another X-ray for comparison. He makes sure you understand everything. He's very patient and speaks with a soothing demeanor. It was reassuring. Nobody is without anxiety about having a root canal. He understands this. Anyway, to wrap up: had the consult on 10-9, had the root canal on 10-12. Absolutely zero pain. None. Not during and not after. That night I couldn't even tell I'd had anything done. He is a really cool guy and an expert at his craft. His office staff was "on it" every step of the way. Pleasant, efficient and didn't need anything from me except my insurance card. They 100% handled everything which is always appreciated. I hate having to deal with my insurance company on my own, and I didn't. First Class all the way. Can't say enough good things. Not one negative.

I never thought I would be rating a dentist or endodontist 5 star, simply because I've never been a…read morefan of dentists all my life! But this had to be the best experience I've ever had with a dentist/ endodontist! My regular dentist referred me to Dr. Weiner for a potential root canal. I had this procedure done by him 7 years ago at his office near the Hollywood area. He has since moved to the Plantation area which is very close to where I live = convenient. My tooth pain began while I was traveling in Seattle and I was worried that the pain wouldn't allow me to get back to do it here, but I'm so glad I was able to. I called the office as soon as my dentist diagnosed it as a root canal. Cathy, the office manager, was very kind even though it was close to 5 p.m. - closing time, to contact my insurance company to see if I would be covered, which luckily I was. And she was able to get me in the following morning. These days you rarely get customer service like this! She was really awesome! Entering the office you get a warm comfortable feeling with the decor, ambiance and friendliness of the staff. There's even candles in the waiting room and the bathroom to give you that calming feeling. The exam room is almost like first class on an airplane! There's a TV, they provide a headset in case you don't have one to connect your phone to listen to music or what have you. There's even a blanket if you're too cold with the air conditioning. A fluffy pillow to put under your neck which most dentist chairs don't have. And because I have a back issue, Melissa the assistant, even gave me a small pillow for support and ice packs. I was so comfortable I almost fell asleep! Dr. Weiner was excellent in discussing the procedure, asking questions and is very detail oriented which I totally appreciate! I really didn't experience much pain which is unusual for a root canal! The procedure was pretty quick and afterwards I even got a care package with a bottle of water, instructions from the doctor and an ice pack. The overall experience was wonderful and it was great to see Dr Weiner again after 7 years - which he called it... The Seven Year Itch! LOL I highly recommend Dr Weiner and his team for any Endodontal issues!!

Additionally, he and his dental assistant, Melissa, worked quickly and competently. There tandem efforts are something to actually marvel. I also would like to thank Kelly at the front desk. Dr. Hilali is superior, explains as she works, she's considerate and kind. Dunia , the hygienist, is gifted with gentle hands and a calm manner. These women are a true godsend for me and I am sincerely grateful to them for putting up with me.

The only reason this is not a lower rating is because the dentist herself was very sweet and professional during our initial interaction, but unfortunately, the rest of the visit was extremely off-putting. I called in advance to set up an appointment for a standard cleaning and X-rays, and I double-checked that my insurance was accepted. Upon arrival, they took X-rays and performed an iTero scan, followed by a brief meeting with the doctor. However, the receptionist holding a clipboard with a price sheet informed me that my insurance "isn't great," that they don't get paid from it, and that it would only cover the X-rays. She then claimed that due to a diagnosis of excess plaque, a basic cleaning wasn't covered and quoted me several hundred dollars out-of-pocket for a deeper type of clean, alongside a treatment plan for a retainer and Invisalign that totaled roughly $3,000. Knowing my benefits, I called my insurance company directly while standing right in the office, and my insurer confirmed that a standard, basic preventative cleaning was fully covered. What made the situation more uncomfortable was the atmosphere. When I politely questioned the front desk about why I was diagnosed with something requiring a non-covered procedure rather than a basic cleaning, the staff began whispering to each other, and other team members started peeking around the corner at me. It made me feel alienated and embarrassed over standard insurance questions. Additionally, no periodontal probing or charting was performed during the entire exam to justify the upcharge. I ultimately took my treatment sheet and walked out without getting the cleaning done. I have since gone to a new dentist, and the contrast was night and day. My new provider completed a full head, neck, lymph node, and jaw examination, performed a thorough periodontal chart (showing healthy numbers of 2s and 3s), and confirmed my teeth look great. They even had to retake the X-rays because the images sent from Gentle Dentistry were not to their standards. Even paying completely out-of-pocket at my new dentist, the full exam and basic cleaning came out to just $150, far more affordable and transparent than what I was quoted here. While the doctor herself was pleasant, the sales-driven atmosphere at the front desk, the lack of standard diagnostic steps like perio charting, and the awkward treatment from the staff made it clear this office was not the right fit for me.

If I could, I would rate this so call specialist a zero stars. I started with pain in my back wisdom tooth Thursday August 31, 2017. Friday morning I called my regular dentist's office. I saw the Dr. and he said I need a root canal but he couldn't do it. He gave me antibiotics and referred me to a root canal specialist Dr. James Sainsbury in Tamarac. I had so much pain during the weekend and the antibiotic were not working. I had terrible headaches, swelling around my throat, pain in my left ear and I couldn't swallow. I made an appointment for that morning Tuesday September 5, 2017 to see Dr. James Sainsbury. They took X-rays and the Dr. came in and gave me an evaluation he said I needed a root canal and I said ok. He said I have to wait for the insurance approval the receptionist came back and mentioned that the Dr. will not do the root canal, I ask why she said the insurance will only pay $375 and the Dr. will not accept that amount. He wants $1400 because the procedure is too complicated. The office manager came out to explain why the insurance won't pay more than $375 but she told us to pay the whole amount now and after when she summits the forms to the insurance we would get reimburse for $795. My husband and I agree to pay the $1400 and everything was set. Then the receptionist comes out and said the Dr. said he won't do it, we ask why she had no explination for us, we asked again and she refuse to give us an explanation so we left. We told the receptionist what kind of specialist is he backing out of procedure. Never have I ever experience such unprofessional work from a dentist, awful would not recommend him at all. It's always about money. I went back to my dentist for a stronger prescription. Now because of the hurricane coming I have to wait until next week to have a root canal.
