He told me it wasn't an abscess but a skin infection and to see a dermatologist. I questioned him twice and said are you sure, he said again it was not an abscess. Subsequently he also took an X ray that wasn't necessary in my opinion for the purpose of my visit when he made a "diagnosis " of a skin infection, and then charged me $90 for which I did not consent to or be told I would be responsible for paying. Later that evening I was hospitalized with a severe facial abscess that required surgery and 4 days in the hospital, and upon discharge I had to have a mid-line catheter inserted to receive IV antibiotics for a week. I called Dr. ALFREDO TENDLER and told him what happened, he took no responsibility for his misdiagnosis and insisted I didn't have an abscess. It was hours later from his visit I was hospitalized. To all patients, be diligent and trust your instincts because sometimes it can cause life threatening consequences. Doctors are not always correct. But physicians have huge egos that get in the way of admitting an error, with the G-d like complex we all know exists. My father is a dentist and looked at the X-rays and explained that I needed one for buildup under the gum lines and this was several years ago, he also explained they are only necessary under certain circumstances and originally I fit that, again 2-3 years ago. I was 52 at the time and never needed one while my dad practicing until I was 45, this is NOT normally needed at all. It took another 5 years for me to admit I needed them out and I decided to go to Dr Feinerman after hearing for years how great he is. 1. Hes seriously awesome. All my fears were totally squashed after meeting him. Seriously I was convinced I was going to go permanently numb and lose all feeling and taste in my mouth. That didnt happen and the milkshake I just devoured was glorious. Granted I'm still numb so spilling milkshake all over myself definitely happened. I'm not even bleeding. Which is good (see point 3). 2. He told me exactly what he was going to do and what would happen. All of his prognosis was good. Mind you I'm still numb and on painkillers but I can still Yelp like a pro, so it couldn't be that bad. He also listened to EVERYTHING I said from my concerns to where my veins were so that the IV didnt kill me. 3. I woke up and started laughing because I almost dry heaved due to the gauze. Than I couldn't stop laughing. These drugs are great. No pain and constant entertainment. I legit cant tell you what's funny, but I can tell you the experience is fun. 4. I was seriously worried about being Chip and Dale's long lost sister. NO SWELLING so far. And no excruciating pain. All of my fears were literally for no reason I should have listened to my dad (if you know him, dont tell me him I said this as he will hold it over my head for the rest of my natural life during this I told you so moment).
