The staff at Griffin Animal Hospital is not only knowledgable but they genuinely care about their clients/patients. I recently adopted another fur baby and Dr Griffin and her staff have gone out of their way to answer questions and provide care. I don't think I could trust another Veterinarian in Columbia, especially since most are corporate and require extra fees, testing that isn't needed, and staff that seem to come and go. If you are looking for a Vet in the area I'm sure they wouldn't mind you stopping in and checking them out. They are always welcoming and helpful.

I am writing this review now because I went to my new vet(Cat Clinic) the other day and had a wonderful, easy, affordable experience, and it made me write this review. First issue is the never ending "required tests" stool tests, bloodwork, and other things. They make you do them or at least made me every single time I came in regardless of the issue. This of course ran the bill up every single time to around $600-$700 dollars. Second issue was Dr. Griffins attitude. She couldn't be more abrasive if she tried and I always tried to be nice but I always got the feeling she seemed to feel like she was wasting her time talking to me. She was condescending and definitely didn't respect or care about my time. The final straw was when she said she tried to have me bring in another stool sample only two weeks after a prior visit just to get anxiety meds. It's literally 30% a scam to earn extra money. Lastly for example the Cat Clinic for a yearly check up was only $250 with two vaccines, Flea Meds for 2 cats, and anxiety meds. Which is the primary reason for writing this as I do feel I have been overcharged by Griffin for years. The Cat Clinic has never asked for a stool sample and they ask if I'd like to bloodwork which they don't recommend unless there's a concern. Goodluck with Griffin Animal Hospital if you don't believe me.

LATE POST! Where do I even begin?! I arrived here by…read morereference because of my emergency situation with my fur baby Suffering from bladder stones. I started out to seek help for him from 12pm. Our first animal hospital we visited wasn't so great ( I'm not going to mention any names ), and I really thought I was going to lose my baby there. Being it was a Sunday and on Labor day weekend, there were not a lot of places to seek help. I brought Haiku here in hopes that they would be able to help him and I am so glad that I did!!! From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed. The gentleman working at the counter was very patient, kind, and compassionate. He helped and explained everything thoroughly so I understood the process. They worked quickly and got working on Haiku right away. The lobby area is kept very clean and organized. They have complimentary snacks and refreshments. There are also rocking chairs outside if you need to take a breather which is what I needed to do a few times. I really appreciated how they were understanding and empathetic about my budget and helped me to get signed up for care credit. They allowed me to spend time with Haiku for a bit before they started testing and treatment. I was so relieved when I seen he had life back in his eyes and I knew this is where he needed to be to get better. Dr. Allison Kelly, Madison, and the entire crew working here at SCVSEC is absolutely amazing!!! I started my day full of tears and ended it with a big smile and a heart full of hope! From my heart, THANK YOU!!! it's because of beautiful people like you that makes this world a better place! If you are in need of emergency pet care, I highly recommend you visit them!

Having to have my 15 year old Dachshund put down. She had gone to work with me since she was house-trained. She was a therapy dog in nursing homes I worked in. Needless to say I was devastated. While I was waiting during her initial treatment and the return, the front desk even though many times seeing me crying, were laughing and joking.

My experience with Destination Pet has been extremely disappointing, particularly when it comes to…read moreaccountability and communication. I paid for my dog Arya's spay at Midlands Veterinary Hospital. She later went through a heat cycle, and I subsequently found out that she had an ovarian remnant, meaning ovarian tissue was left behind after the spay. So my dog who was supposed to be spayed will now have heat cycles for her entire life. This is not simply a situation where a procedure did not go exactly as expected. Retained ovarian tissue can continue producing reproductive hormones and expose dogs to significant long-term health risks, including stump pyometra, mammary gland tumors, tumors or cysts involving the retained ovarian tissue, and other hormone-related complications. Arya may now require additional monitoring and potentially another surgery because of this. I paid for a procedure specifically intended to eliminate these reproductive risks. Instead, I am now left worrying about health problems that could affect my dog for the rest of her life. I contacted Angela, who is currently the Practice Manager at Midlands. I provided documentation and proof and was told that the records would be reviewed and that I would receive a response. It has now been over a month. I have sent 3-4 follow-up emails and have received no response. I also contacted Destination Pet's corporate office directly and never heard back from them either. I am not expecting complications to be impossible in veterinary medicine. I am expecting accountability, communication, and a willingness to address the situation when a paid surgical procedure does not achieve its intended result. Instead, I have been ignored.
