When Dr. Verbrick was there, it was great. Now, however, it is not run well. We took our male cat for his annual. The vet did the usual ... all good. When she looked in his mouth, she said he needed at least one tooth removed due to cavities. He has had issues with Gingivitis since he was a kitten. So we agreed to take him in for the tooth removal(s). He went in at 8:00, without a definite surgery time. They were to call me to pick him up. At 4:45, I called out of concern, and the receptionist told me he had been ready since about noon, and said "she was supposed to call". When questioned, she said the vet who pulled the teeth was supposed to call. I hurried to the office; only the receptionist was in the building. She knew nothing about the oral surgery except the price, which seemed high. I let her know how unhappy I was, and she reached one of the vets on the phone. She said she called and left a voice mail ... NOT. They don't board cats ... what was their plan? Take him to the pound? The receptionist was near tears, and I was totally steamed! Their patient base is eroding, and I can tell you why!!! read more

Excellent service. My cat was taken within a few minutes of my appointment for her annual wellness examination. She had her vaccination and thorough Wellness exam. They also do cat grooming there if you are a customer--I must say they did a beautiful job of grooming my Rag Doll and I could actually wait for her there to be done which was only 30 minutes tops. Normally I have to wait half the day at a regular veterinarian hospital but this was great that I could take her home within 30 minutes and no side effects from anesthesia. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I brought my cat in because she was territorially urinating outside her box. The vet ran some tests, including an ultrasound and a urinalysis to rule out infection. There was no infection. She was prescribed Hills CD and given a cerenia shot (why?). I contacted Hills, and was told that this food is not for "marking." The vet on staff gave me no advice and an unnecessary expensive prescription food. This is a corporate run, money making business. I found better advice on FB that actually helped my cat. read more

I'm sorry that Dr. Verbrick retired, she was a great vet for my cat who is 14 years old, and had a few problems. However, I really like Dr. Leigh Sheridan. She takes the time to be really friendly, explains exactly what's going on with your cat, will show you the x-rays, will explain them, let you photograph them, and will give you treatment options. The Cat Clinic is very clean; it has a TV, that's all about cats, in the waiting room; and the staff is friendly and helpful, and will work you in the schedule for immediate attention. Very efficient and knowledgeable team! I've brought my cat in twice for vomiting and dental issues. First visit he got a shot to stop vomiting, second visit they did an X-ray and extraction the same day for his teeth. I've brought my cat to two other vets and we tried so many different things to stop his vomiting that were unsuccessful (he was vomiting at least twice a week) but it has been about a month since his first visit and he only regurgitated once since. Since his extraction he has meowed and scratched his face less, and has been more playful and affectionate. I would say the pricing here is a tad above average, but 100% worth it. I wish I came here sooner. read more

I scheduled an appointment for my cat thinking I would get Dr. Verbrick as she was the only one who treated him previously but was informed that she only worked two days a week now. The new Vet and her assistant (Ash) could not figure out what was wrong with my cat after multiple visits. The assistant actually stepped on my cat after letting him off the exam table. She was too busy running around trying to play Doctor instead of paying attention to my cat. I highly recommend going if you can get Dr. Verbrick as she will not give up on your cat but if you can't, go somewhere else. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! Dr. Verbrick is an absolute expert in all things feline. The staff are caring and kind and Dr. V keeps you updated about your pet daily. She truly cares about your kitty's wellbeing and she will give them the absolute best care your furbaby could possibly receive. We only take our cats to The Cat Clinic! Dr. Verbrick and her staff are wonderful veterinarians. Another vet that is a friend of the family actually commented that Dr. Verbrick was exceptional and suggested that we stick with her instead of transferring our business! I began taking my first cat there years ago. He became ill and they provided excellent care until there was nothing else to be done (he was leaking lymphatic fluid into his body cavity) and they were very comforting and respectful when the time came to put him to sleep. We then got two new kittens. One of the kittens came from a pretty rough home and was ill and they nursed him back to health and he's been perfectly healthy ever since. I can usually get an appointment quickly and almost never have to wait very long (which is good since our cats are a bit nervous). They also have a little store area inside the clinic full of wonderful items including the cute cat toys by the register that I can't ever resist! (Our cats LOVE the "cat candy" pieces that are filled with cat nip!) Also a perk is the house kitty that lives at the clinic. I always look for him when I go. read more

I suppose the name speaks for itself. This is a vet clinic that specializes in cats. It seems to also be a very popular place for people to kennel the cats when they go on vacation. When I went with the wife we were the only people in the waiting room that were not German (kind of random eh)? You kind of feel like you are at a speedy oil change place as they try to get you in and out really fast. Still its a niche vet place and they are good at what they do. All though it made me sad we had to kennel up our cat for a long vacation. They do good checks on the kenneled cats but I wish they would take them out and play with them. read more

I took my cat to the Cat Clinic on Trenholm Road. He had been very lethargic. He also seemed aggitated. He is 100% indoor. The vet did not introduce herself, she asked how long had there been a problem and I was telling her that he had more than one symptom and the date each started. She cut me off after about 2 and a half sentances. She weighed him but made no comment to me. I think a tech took an ear temp and the vet pulled up his lips. Then she took a flea comb and on the 3rd comb she struck flea dirt. She gave him a pill without asking me or telling me what it was. She handed me a $40 canister of powder for the carpet and said if the house was not treated they would come back. She also put Advantage on him with out asking ( he may have had an allergy and she not know.) She left the room and the office person hit me with a bill of $141. The $40 canister of Borax ( labeled 100%Borax) was identical to a $3 box I got at the grocery. A month and a half latter after 2 carpet treatments and another Advantage and daily combing w/ precausions and he still may have fleas. For the wealthy who don't relate to humans this would be ideal. read more

My little ones were very anxious about going to the vet. I didn't like how the Cat Clinic handled my two cats. The vet was very short with me and did not exam either of the cats when I came in for an annual visit. During the exam of my first little one, she had an assistant come and hold him. He didn't like how the assistant wanted to hold him down and the vet said "I give up." My other little one was very anxious and instead of giving her time they brought in a towel (which had a very strong odor on it) and covered my cat with it. The assistant leaned on my cat with more weight than was necessary. I literally cried about how mean the assistant and vet were when giving my little ones their vaccinations. Overall, I feel like the vet that I got was short. She did not answer my questions or concerns, treated my cats like they were horrible animals, and it didn't feel like her (or the assistant) even liked cats. read more

Dr. Verbrick is absolutely amazing with her feline patients. She goes above and beyond to treat her patients and assist families in need. Not a big fan. The vet didn't even introduce herself to us, no smiles, no eye contact - I think her first name was Shawn, no clue what her last name was. She was very frustrated during the whole visit - first it was because she couldn't find a pen and then her frustration turned to us. She was clearly frustrated over the fact that we requested an estimate for our cat to be sedated and have x-rays. She didn't examine our cat at all - maybe looked at the cat's eyes and teeth. We also asked for an estimate on the rabies vaccine - another inconvenience for Shawn. She came back into the room and explained how much the vaccine would cost. As my husband and I were debating on whether to get it or not, she basically said that we were "idiots" (her words) for not getting the vaccine. When she was giving the cat the vaccine, we tried to help her, but she snapped at us and said "No! I got it!". All in all, the vet was VERY impersonal with poor bedside manner. It also felt like we were "inconveniencing" her. My husband and I were very polite with her, so she had no reason to be frustrated with us. We are not going back and I will not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to feel like an "idiot". For five minutes, it cost $45. If she had a better attitude, this would have been worth it. Very poor provider, take your well earned money elsewhere. read more

They are not only fabulous with feral cats, they correctly diagnosed two different cats I had taken to two other vets- neither of whom diagnosed the cats correctly after multiple examinations (two different problems). The folks from the reception area to the vets themselves are highly professional, knowledgable, and provide loving care to the cats that come in. I lived in the area for 10 years and took all 4 of my cats there regularly. The care that each cat received was outstanding, and the staff would regularly call to check up post vet visit. The staff would always take phone calls to answer questions, and they were always willing to help in an emergency. I found that the Cat Clinic's price points were very fair for the care and treatment I received. When I was raising a kitten from 4 days old, who was very sick, they didn't charge me a dime to bring him in daily for care and medical care/advice. The kitten is alive and well because the vets and staff took the time to instruct me how to raise him best. These folks know how to provide quality care for your cats, and Dr. Verbrick has specialized in cat care for over 30 years. Look beyond the reviews for personality...the folks truly care about the services they offer and your beloved pets. They don't minced words which I appreciate in a medical setting. Now that I have moved from the area to a place without a cats only vet, I really miss having the team from the Cat Clinic to help me and my cats. read more

If you live in Columbia and own a cat, this is the only vet you should consider. I switched to using Cat Clinic when I lived in South Congaree, out near the airport, even though it was a long drive. The vets here simply know more about feline diseases, and are less likely to diagnose something serious as "just a cold" out of ignorance (this actually happened to me with a general practitioner in South Congaree, which was why I switched vets in the first place). The vet here was caring and very good at putting my kitty at ease, even though my cat is usually terrified at a vet's office. I now live in downtown Columbia, and still use Cat Clinic because they were so good, even though a few vets are closer. I've also boarded with them several times, and I feel better traveling knowing that my pet is always being supervised and is within reach of good medical care if she needs it when I'm not around. They're very accommodating when you board, even down to using the special blend of food that my cat eats at home when I asked them to (she's diabetic, so I have to watch her diet carefully). So yes, I absolutely cannot recommend this clinic more highly to other cat owners. I'm glad I finally found a vet that I trust to know what my cat needs. read more
