This place had been a staple with my friends and I during the summer time. Big dinning room for big party's and families. Open and closed throughout the last 5-8 years. Not the original owners so new menus and earlier hours. Still a big drinking establishment and open late for drinks but no late night menu anymore. Very small menu and the portions have gotten very small due to inflation but the prices have gone way up too? The food was ok and the service was good. No service in the big room anymore. In fact the sign on the door says very limited seating. I'm thinking they are just feeling things out for now but I will update when we see how it is after the season is over. Not a bad atmosphere and rowdy after the kitchen closes. Drinking till 1-2am as the crowd allows. Stay tuned for my update. read more

Called the restaurant a couple weeks before we headed to bethel for a concert, looking for a possible ride to and from the show. One of the workers hooked my brother in law and I up with her husband for transportation. So we made sure to check out the restaurant while in town and it was great. The fish and chips was excellent and the Guinness draught hit the spot. read more

Service was great. Only real issue with the food was with the shrimp tacos, they were a lot heavy on the toppings for my taste, so much so that the shrimp was lost in the fray instead of being the star, but over all pretty good for the price. We went at happy hour and had shrimp tacos, frito misto (calamari), and wings. We will be back to try the pork sliders and shrimp basket. Thanks for the hospitality! read more

My family and I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant last night before a Bethel Woods concert. We found everyone to be warm and friendly, and although busy everyone kept up with the pace. Friends is back! After changing hands a few years ago, we worried that the formerly cozy, friendly local bar with great food was gone. Luckily our faith was restored last night with a meal at the bar. Food was excellent- pub grub but very well prepared and delicious. Limited menu, which I couldn't find online, even on their "website" aka Facebook page. The food was decent, but our server was cold/indifferent the entire time we were there. When the bill came, the prices were higher than listed on the menu. I brought that to the waitress's attention and was told that she would "let them know". Since I'd already decided this was to be my last visit to this place, I didn't press the issue. This is a place my husband and I used to patronize frequently when the former owners ran the restaurant. Last Night my daughter and I went to this restaurant to grab a bite before the concert in Bethel Woods. We were greeted promptly at the door. The waitress proceeded to seat us at a high top table and I explained that I had limitations with my knees and could not get onto the high top stool. She said that was all they had. I looked around the room and all of the other tables were empty except for one couple on the side at a two seater. I questioned her about the other seating and she said, they were holding that for bigger crowds. Now let me preface that by saying it was only 5:30 and the seating she was referring to for bigger crowds, were four seaters. When I objected to her answer, she said let me talk to my manager. When she went to inquire with her manager who was just a few feet from us, I heard the manager say: "Absolutely not". When she came back with the answer, she could see we were clearly upset, so she said: "let me see what we can do". She proceeded to put us in the back room, which was fine with us but why were we not allowed to sit in the front? I'm not sure of the reason. But whatever it was, that was outrageous! How do you turn away a customer who has physical limitations? I hold no blame towards the waitress and gave her a nice tip because she kept on checking on us. But I should mention also that the meal took forever to come out and because of that we were late to the concert. I worked in customer service for years and would never treat my customers like that. read more

Great food and service. Discovered the restaurant recently even though I live very close to it. Pleasant surprise.

So disappointed! For the past 20 years this has been an on again off again place to go. The food is ok, not great but ok. Sadly we attempted to go on a holiday weekend and had a feeling it would be crowded. We were greeted very nicely but were told it was crowded because they had a few Large group reservations. We were only four people. Another waitress came over and rudely advised us she could not accommodate us and that it would be a really long tome to get seated. There was plenty of space and tables it just wasn't conducive of 4 Person seating and they refused to move two tables together. Another waitress tried to accommodate us in the bar area, but the same nasty waitress shut her down, so we left. I am very tired of rudeness. It costs almost double what it did a few years ago to go eat out and in this area they should be a little more grateful. in the dead of winter when they are desperate for customers you can be sure not to count on me. So if you don't mind rudeness have a good time, i choose not to be treated that way when i am the patron. read more

New old owner has a false menu from last year. prices went up and the menu is a lie. Do not go. Owner hovers over staff and yells orders. He thinks it's NYC. Dont go. The Steak sandwich promises a garlic toasted sub with peppers and onions, however it has a deli plain sub with 2 pieces of cheese on each side like a 10 year old made it for $18. Haha. What a joke.
