    Crab cake appetizer

Needed a good meal after my son ran the spartan race at Bethel Woods. This was an easy to find, close to the highway hole-in-the-wall spot and it was so good! The reviews were great so we gave it try and we enjoyed everything we had. I wish they were closer to us because this would be a staple if we were locals. The short rib poutine was to die for - complex flavors and delicious sauce. I could have eaten the short ribs as a meal itself. Give this place a try!

Great find, Brian the bartender was awesome. The best margaritas and pesto chicken sandwich. Well worth the trip off the highway.

Hidden gem! Driving past, you wouldn't even know that something was amazing is located in this little strip mall. The bartender greeted us right away when we came in and got us started on drinks right away (we had been traveling all day and this was so, SO appreciated). The tables were moved in a way that made seating a little awkward on the high tops in the front (had to reeeeeally squeeze in there and I'm a pretty small person). I opted for the OMG Crab Cake thinking.. y'know. It's a crab cake. Just one. How good could it be? I just wanted something small to tide us over until a big dinner later that night. So a crab cake. Just one crab cake. What arrived at our table was a glorious crab ball that I'd eat every day for the rest of my life if I could. It was huge, crispy, tasty. The side salad that came with it was a perfect complement and I left feeling comfortable - not super full and not wishing I had gotten TWO crab cakes instead. I got a basic whiskey/diet and it was great! Believe it or not, you CAN screw up a drink as simple as that and the bartender was great about recommending one of the specialty cocktails if I was looking for something nice with some whiskey and honey in it.

Started off on a good note, asked if we could move tables together since the seating was separate; no problem. We ordered drinks, took a bit to get our drinks, no problem. Then ordered our food. 1/2 hr for the first 2 plates to come out another 15-20 minutes for another 2 plates to come out and this went on and on. They forgot one of our family member's food. We asked the waitress and server numerous times about the food and they were always checking on it. Eventually the food was brought out. Unwashed salad & dry chicken, the elote salad had gummy corn with an aftertaste & dry chicken, chicken and fish tacos just mehhhh, salmon just ok, burgers cooked too well done, soggy onion rings, pizza not good at all. Meanwhile another party that came in 1 hr after us, had all their food even before we had all ours We spoke to the waitress about the service, wasn't blaming her for the service at all, and asked to speak to the manager. Manager never came to talk to us. Eventually one of our family members found out who the manager was and went and spoke to her directly. The manager plainly stated that since there were a few big tables, things like this happens. Things like this should never happen if you had enough staff. And I believe that was the problem, not enough staff in the kitchen and on the floor. Wish I had taken some pics of the food, but it was nothing memorable. Don't recommend this place and would never come back.

The parking lot is small but luckily it wasn't crowded on a Sunday afternoon. The food was excellent. They have a wood fired grill menu only on the weekends. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, the smoked wings with Thai chili sauce, the pulled pork sandwich, the hangar steak, and the burger. All were great as were the fries. The service was above and beyond. Also, they had some great specials on cams to go that we took advantage of. 10% off for dining at the brewery, a free branded glass with every 3 4-packs, and a free bottled stout with the purchase of a case.

It was around that moment, I realized I should have gone to Equilibrium. Two months later, I was again traveling through Middletown and I planned my day around visiting. The space was cool. Lots of wood. Cool large Einstein art as you approach the building. Lots of inside seating with natural light. Outside seating and smokers for BBQ. I ordered two 4 ounce pours as a way of informing my can purchases. Photon, a Pale Ale. And MC Squared, a Double IPA. Both were very good. Reminded me of the ales at some other top breweries. I decided to buy a 4 of MC Squared and I asked the person working if there was anything special that they had in cans. She recommended Mmmosa, which is a pale ale with orange flavor. I tried it and it also was very good. I didn't eat, but I note that Equilibrium really seems focused on BBQ. Something to research before you visit. 4.5 Stars

Our server, Liv, was amazing from the moment she sat us down and went over the specials--we knew it was going to be a great experience. The menu is still very much Italian-themed and did not disappoint. The drink menu looked great, but I opted for a beer on tap. My sister went with the Cinco de Mayo margarita flight special, and my wife ordered a soda. We started with the buffalo wings and buffalo chicken egg rolls. I originally planned on getting the chicken bacon ranch pizza, but after some debate and consulting with Liv, she recommended The Giada--and she did NOT disappoint. My sister ordered the tacos, and my wife got The Alessia. The wings were just as good as I remembered--crispy, well-done, and delicious. The buffalo chicken egg rolls only got better with each bite. But the true star was The Giada. I was a bit unsure about the ricotta at first, but one bite changed everything. The creamy ricotta, the salty pepperoni, the kick from the hot honey--it was a full-on flavor symphony that didn't miss a beat. It was so good I ended up offering slices to other tables who overheard me raving about it! From the bar area, you can watch the chef work the wood-fired oven and absolutely crush these pizzas. The tacos were a sleeper hit--I would totally order those just to take home--and The Alessia is a great salad pizza that delivered on flavor. We even went for dessert, trying the brownie Liv recommended. Don't skip dessert--every option looked amazing. The dessert pizza is officially on my radar for next time. It's a cozy spot with good music, TVs showing local games, and an amazing staff that make it a complete experience. Huge shoutout to Liv for the excellent service and spot-on recommendations. 5/5 stars.
