Wanted authentic southern type food after a long roadtrip from ohio. We stopped in Pear, MS for the night and found Frisco Deli on yelp. Sister got a shrimp poboy, I got a cajun roast beef. Shrimp poboy was good - although I've had better. The cajun roast beef was just a plain roast beef with the cajun/honey dijon sauce on it. I got a combo with my sandwich for $6.99. this included a side and a drink. I got the potato salad which was alright. Too eggy for me. They have a variety of sauces lined up for you to grab and bring to your table. It wasn't labled but pretty sure one was a honey dijon and the other was a 'cajun' honey dijon. read more

The desserts looked good but I was too full from dinner. They had a steady stream of diners coming in at dinner with families in tow so you know it has to be a good place to eat. Ordered the Cajun roast beef deli meal. I ordered my sandwich heated, but I guess they ain't Burger King and it ain't a "have it your way" ordeal. I told the guy 3 times.. but didn't happen. I ordered coleslaw instead of fries because anyone who has eaten here knows those fries are like chewing cardboard. But this coleslaw taste like dirty cabbage and water.. they are just wrong! The sandwich was not very good though - way too salty and when they asked if I wanted it heated up they just put it in the microwave. I would skip next time or at least try something different. One complaint: make your own tarter sauce to pair with this wonderful catfish, do not rely on a package of kraft tarter sauce. Cole slaw and potato salad were ok - nothing to rave over. Such catfish! Something to dream about. Perfectly crisp and brown with the delicate catfish done to tender, moist perfection! Good coleslaw and fries completed the meal, though I concentrated on the catfish. This is what this Mississippi woman dreams of while living in the Midwest. I wish the starter sauce was homemade but the catfish is so good, you can eat it plain. Next time, I am going to try the ribs! I rarely stop in Pearl when driving through the state, but I will be looking for opportunities to be near Pearl at mealtime from now on! read more
