    pepperoni pizza

it really gets me hype when the simplest dishes are cooked to perfection--like this pizza was so simplistically good. you could taste the freshness of the ingredients and the authenticity of the crust and sauce. i was glad i spent my Saturday appreciating this pizza. i would definitely recommend this place for those that want to experience something more than just a fast food pizza. ALSO: random but, their chocolate chip cookies???????? 2 die 4

Let me tell y'all about BASILS. This was definitely one of my top 5 Jackson Places to eat! It's located right next to Roosters. The quality of the pizza there was just what I needed the day I came. It's a little bit pricy but not too expensive and it's definitely worth every dollar. You end up getting a lot for what you paid for. I had the MJG pizza and let me tell you eating it was worth every dollar. The cheese and sauce blend was nice and there was definitely enough pizza for me to have some for dinner later on too. The Caesar salad was nice and full too (as you can see). They also give you a piece of bread with this AMAZING sauce to accompany it (which I used it with my pizza too and it was heavenly). Another highlight that I must mention were the COOKIES. They were an impulsive buy but easily one of the best impulsive buys I ever made haha. The cookies were moist and I think made from scratch. Basically everything that touched my mouth that came from here was good haha. I would definitely 10/10 recommend.

    Panini (Veggie)

I ordered the veggie panini and paid extra to add roasted red bell peppers. There is 1/8th on one on my panini. I've been gone 3years and couldn't wait to eat here again. Quality today was not good. Super disappointed..

Best. Pizza. In. This. Ciiiiity. Yooooooooo !!!! This place is such a hit ! Came here as a last minute choice on a Monday evening when I saw Sal & Mookies was closed. The guy who was working the counter/phone today (4/16/18) had the best customer service and was super polite. My pizza was so delicious. I saw the yelp hours saying they closed at 2:30 but I decided to call them anyways -- THEY WERE OPEN !!!! Yaaaaassss !!! The pizza was perfect sized and very satisfying. They have many different options to pick from as well. Will definitely be coming back here to dine the next time I am in the city and looking for a satisfying meal.

Basil's has never disappointed! The food is made with fresh ingredients and made-to-order! I have my favorites, so I haven't had the opportunity to "stray" and try new things. The #3 (Turkey Mozzarella) is ADDICTIVE...this panini is heaven sent, Chile!!!!! I typically pair it I'm with the side salad - the feta cheese and green olives gives this salad a kick that makes it a step above your typical side salad! The stuffed eggs are okay. I tend to buy them because I love stuffed eggs, but I'm not "head over heels" about these. Also, the "premium pepperoni pizza" is delicious. I tried it when they first added it to the menu and I've intended to get it again, but the #3 just hasn't let me yet. Lol

Great pizza! I'm the type that likes my pizza slices cut weird so this definitely caters to that. They have a big variety of different types of pizza. I believe I had the State Street and my sister ordered the Rocky which is like a Philly cheesesteak. And get this... they come with ranch. :-)

It is what pizza should taste like. Generous toppings and lovely pizza every time I order. The crew is Awesome

Came upon this restaurant while visiting family in a nearby hospital. I've had pizza from here, two days in a row! Some of the very best pizza, I've ever had!! Super-friendly staff !!! AAAAA+

For Jackson, very pleasant place with good pizza. The State Street is a 12" pepperoni, bacon and sausage combo in tomato sauce. It does leave behind a greasy box, but if that worries you, you shouldn't eat pizza! The crust is hand made and fresh, the ingredients real and baked just right. I love the lettuce combo of the salad, packed full other ingredients. The focaccia was a disappointment, cold and tasteless, don't recommend it. Order at the counter, get a number to put to put on your table outside or in the common area of the building. Love the Fondren area!

I got the strawberry chicken salad, which is usually one of my favorites. This one was by far one of the worst I've ever had. To start, the little bit of chicken that was on there seemed like the leftovers from what they had after they made sandwiches. It was very lacking in flavor. The balsamic vinaigrette (which I usually love) was very bitter and had the worst flavor. They really need to change that recipe! The pecans were supposed to be "candied", which really elevates the flavors of a strawberry salad. There were very few, and they were not candied, but just regular salted tiny pieces. Overall the combination of all the flavors just didn't work, and made for a boring tastebud experience. IF I ever go back I'll try something else. As far as the service, that was disappointing too. The young lady at the register was very nice, but everyone else could really use some customer service training. After eating, I went back to the counter to get a to-go box. I stood there for 3-4 minutes, and had numerous employees walk right past me and not even make eye contact. Even the manager that was in the kitchen making food looked over at me and said nothing. I was trying to wait patiently, but after a few minutes, I finally flagged someone down to get the to-go box. It doesn't seem like they care much about the customer experience, and that usually makes up for lackluster food.

So many choices - Biscuits & gravy, omlettes, low carb bowls with plenty of protein and veggies, avocado toast, breakfast burrito, etc. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong. Atmosphere - It's chill depending on when you come. Just know the weekends are super busy, so make sure you get there early. You can post inside the cafe, on the patio, or in tables throughout Banner Hall which houses Lumeria book store and some other boutique shops. Prices on food are reasonable. One slice of cheesecake is a little pricey, but it's a large slice and honestly worth it. Overall, this is my favorite place to get breakfast in Jackson!
