I'm a Christian pastor, mother of three, and former TLC reality TV personality. I trusted Dr. Kenneth Smart not once--but twice. And both times, he failed me. I wanted to restore my 2009 breast results with ultra-high-profile cohesive implants and a full anchor lift to correct sagging. My husband and I outlined our goals in writing and confirmed them in person. We held the implants. We reviewed the plan. It was acknowledged. Agreed to. But Dr. Smart substituted different implants, skipped the lift--twice--and never reviewed prior surgical records. He reversed post-op photos to suggest "improvement" and omitted implant details from billing records. When we raised concern, he canceled our follow-up. Staff involved: * Rachel Schindler - Office Manager * Brook Anderson - Medical Assistant * Jaelea Lacey - RN None spoke up. None intervened. I now face a third surgery. My breasts are lower, deformed, and emotionally traumatizing. Dr. Smart's attorney offered $10,300 in exchange for a full release, gag clause, and non-disparagement agreement. We declined. Then published the truth. Patient reviews say the same: * Healthgrades (2022): "DO NOT TRUST HIM. Paid $20k. No lipo. Sagging skin untouched. Dismissed and refused revision." * RealSelf (2015): "Half-naked while he avoided eye contact. Cold. Arrogant. I wish I had done this sooner!!! Dr. Smart and his staff were beyond professional and gave me the results I was wanting for years!!! Love this practice! The moment you step in,you can see how clean and organized the place is. You are greeted immediately which I really like. The staff is prepared for your arrival and they have all the paperwork ready as you come in. There has not been a wait time at either of my appointments which is nice. I had asked my mom for years to try out lip filler but being young it was always a hard no. When I was 18 she allowed it and it has been the best, easiest, and most comforting experience!! I had a mommy makeover by Dr. Smart, and I couldn't be happier with my results and the overall experience with him, and his staff! After consult after consult and a TON of careful consideration I decided to go with Dr. Smart and his team for my mommy makeover. To start with, his team is fantastic! They practically held my hand through out my entire process. If I had a question pre - post op I never had to wait for an answer they were ON IT. I would email them and get a response within minutes. They treated me as if I was their family member that was about to go in for a major surgery. During surgery they called my husband and kept him fully updated. To the point he said it made him feel so much better knowing I was in good hands! Secondly, Dr Smart he was hands down amazing. His bedside manner was spot on. I didn't feel like "just another patient." After seeing my results, I understand why he is known as the "Boob Whisper". He listened to what I wanted and made sure my expectations were matching what my results would be. He flat out told me some of my "wants" were not possible. Other doctors were telling me "Oh yea, I can do that" and my husband would even say that doesn't seem realistic. Bottom line.... Dr Smart was honest he wasn't just trying to "sell" me a job! He isn't just another doctor trying to be social media famous. His patients come first and he post when he can but he isn't in the operating room just making videos. In my case, he was working his magic!!! I would recommend Dr Smart and his team to anyone I know for any procedure small or big. ( I am getting my fillers done there now too.) I had a great experience with Dr. Smart and all of his staff. From all of my pre-op visits to post op, they answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable with my procedure. Dr. Smart has performed 2 breast surgeries on me in the last year. I developed a post operative issue after the second surgery that requires further surgery. I've seen 5 surgeons that are in agreement of this complication, yet Dr. Smart has repeatedly downplayed the need for further surgery and has discounted my feelings and concerns. He does not listen and takes offense when discussing the issues. I left his office on Wednesday in tears and no resolution. His staff is amazing and they always listen and care for the patients but I can no longer recommend Dr. Smart. I am now left with having to pay an additional $9,000 to have a large seroma that is affecting my health and causing pain removed and further revisions to a mastopexy that has already been revised by Dr. Smart once and is still less than desirable results. I understand there are risks with any surgery and I don't blame him for the complication but he has not handled it professionally and I am left having to deal with it without his help. At this point I would never let him operate on me again but he should offer some type of compensation since I have to pay another surgeon. read more

I have a brest lift and implants done by Dr Ken. Unfortunately i couldnt be less satisfy, my breast ended up one lower and than the other, so my nipples are not even, the lift was not perfect, they still look very low and the scar its so tick, I am truly sad and regretful to have done with him. I actually met him thru a friend who has sone her breasts with him, she only done lift and reduction, after few months she as well had to fix her breast with another Doctor. I tried to tell him how unpleased i was with my breast, I mean the scars and nothing like i have seem, its very very thick and ugly, he actually charged me to fix that, but the nipples he offered me to fix and make them even with no cost. I have decided to look for another Doctor to fix everything. I wish i had wait and find the perfect Doctor who care about the results. read more

Dr. Smart's office is very clean and professional. He and his staff were very informative about the liposuction procedure and told me everything I needed to know to prepare for surgery and the post-op recovery. The surgery went fantastic and I am thrilled with the results. Dr. Smart checked on how I was doing the very next day, and I've had several follow up appointments since surgery that have all gone well. Well after Dr. Smart did my wife's breast augmentation she ended up in the ER with a clot, that luckily did not kill her. They completely disregarded and dismissed her complaints of pain. They even said it was from the birth control she was taking. Granted she has been on the same BC since she was like 16 and has never had an issue. That's all I'm going to go into currently, but I would find another doctor even if it's more expensive. read more

If you are looking to do an invasive surgery please go somewhere else . I had the WORST experience with this office! To start at the beginning , In pre op, saw a little bug in Dr. Smart's surgery center . The nurse Jennifer laughed it off and said " oh we are under renovation and I call them get well bugs " . I brushed it off because I had done my research and thought Dr. smart was distinguished in the plastic surgery field and stuff happens. Well that was just the start of a very long and horrible two year battle. I had a very large surgery, extremely invasive. They insist on keeping you until 6 am after surgery. They severely undermedicated me ( had no IV line in me ) and I was begging to the nurses for help because I was in so much pain. The nurse gave me a nausea medication that makes you drowsy instead of pain medication and she completely lied about what she gave me for what reason still remains a mystery. They stayed on their social media Instead of properly caring for me. It did not end there either . I ended up getting cellulitis at my tummy tuck incision site. I got a high fever and was rushed to the hospital. They were getting me admitted so they could begin IV antibiotics and called Dr. Smart . His questionable choice at this moment will go on to have a consequence that would affect me for the next 2 years . He OVERRODE my admittance and told them to" send me home and send me Into his office the next day " . He under treated me with oral antibiotics, I was so sick , I was just trusting my doctor. Why didn't he want me treated at the hospital? The ER nurses all told me how angry everybody was that he overrode my first admission. She said "I was the sickest person she'd seen in a long time" . She stated that the whole ER staff was angry that he sent me home. Looking back on it all this was when my symptoms started really getting severe and this is when it had gotten in my blood and I went septic. I knew something was terribly wrong and he did not listen to me or take anything I told him seriously. In fact I called him telling him something was terribly wrong with me . He downplayed my symptoms and insulted me , worst bed side manner I have ever experienced. Needless to say the oral antibiotics, he thought appropriate for a life threatening illness , didn't work and I ended up spending 2 weeks in the hospital , a couple months of hell and a year and half of struggle . While in the hospital he completely neglected me. One of Baylor's staff plastic surgeons came to see me and you could see the horror and disgust on her face and she put on gear while she was in a white pant suit and high heels and stuck a drain in my abdomen and fixed a breast incision that had opened up . I was in such bad shape externally and was in worse shape internally . For 2 weeks plus I was given all sorts of liquid IVs, so intense it blew out arm veins to the point where I had to have a pick line Installed in my bicep( my veins still remain damaged to this day ) , with the blood infection I went through horrible sweat fits at night with chills and bone aches for 2 weeks at the hospital and months after . My entire body went through such trauma it was a horrible amount of anguish and suffering! If someone would've listen to me in the beginning when I started talking about my symptoms . I was begging for someone to listen to me . I can just recently say I am almost back to myself again and ready to speak out against what happened to me . My surgeon Dr. Smart was nowhere to be found through all this . I was so traumatized I am just getting where I want to talk about it publicly. The doctor that took care of me apologized profusely by what I had to endure due to the neglect. I suffered beyond all measures that I could express, I have never felt pain and illness like that before. I've had to really work hard to get my body to work right after all that . For months , I couldn't raise my arms when I woke up in the morning or close my hands because my nerves were completely damaged. I dealt with this nerve damage and had to be treated for it for just under 2 years. I had to spend so much money on physical therapy and continued care after this happened to me. It's really not fair that I had to go through all of that because my surgeon was getting ready for a cruise, or vacation or whatever it was and couldn't take five minutes to listen to my list of symptoms and actually take them to heart and not blow me off and degrade me which led to the obvious neglect and furthering of my illnesses . If my surgeon whom I trusted , would've listen to my symptoms and really paid attention. He would've heard, those symptoms are common for blood/bone infections. It's very easy to match the two together. His complacency jeopardized and affected my health horribly . I almost died. Save yourself and choose another Doctor . read more
