Came here for breakfast on a Sunday. Paid $4 at the Caboose for what I thought would be pancakes and sausage. Ended up being pancake batter around a sausage. It's a cute concept but hard on my wallet. UPDATED: came her for dinner. There were a lot more trucks to choose from. We first tried the Great Australian Meat Company. We had the potato head which was a shepherds pie with a puff pastry on top. Yummy but was really heavy after a few bites. Comfort food at it's best. There was also the loaded baked potato with steak (Anna's). Basically steak, gravy, sour cream and cheese over a baked potato. Then we had The Dock. Crab cake sliders and Thai Dynamite were excellent. The staff was also very friendly. The only problem was that it was extremely crowded on a Saturday night so the bar line was long and it was hard to find a place to sit. read more

The reasons I need to remove stars actually aren't the fault of the establishment, but still impacted my experience so I feel it's fair to judge. 1) It's very busy and there are two spots to order alcohol. The lines were so long at one point that it would have been easier to just get back in line after you received your drink because you'd finish it by the time you came back. They need servers like Truck Yard has. 2) It's far too kid friendly. Sorry. That's terrible. Hate on me for saying that, but really some adults treat this spot like a playground where it's appropriate to let your kids just run wild. Treat it like a restaurant or bar where other adults are trying to have conversations or walk with drinks/plates of food. 3) The food trucks do not appear to appropriately stock for the day. Every single one of them was out of something we wanted. We'll probably just find a patio over going to this place again. FYI-- it's not dog friendly, for reasons I do not know. read more

Came here to pre game before an FC Dallas game at the Toyota stadium. Beers were nice, cold, and priced around $5. Did not try any food, but for the purposes of pregaming and chilling, it was great. Note that it's a family friendly place, so we saw lots of kids, dogs, and parents hanging out. Live music was a nice touch too as well. Definitely gets more packed in the evenings. read more

I love the concept and the location. Quite a few rotating food trucks gives you variety. Live music over the weekend. I'd give 5 stars but 1. It's extremely kid friendly, even late night. And 2. I asked for reservations which they actually post they take on their website and they just helped me find an open table or offered to throw some folding tables up in the back. A lot of the tables have chairs that are the wrong height for the tables. We went for a band we hadn't heard of and couldn't locate at all through Google, YouTube, social media.. it would just be good to know in advance what we're in for. read more

The reason we chose to go to this place is because we thought it would be similar to Truckyard without having to drive the distance to get there. Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed yet, so we weren't able to take our dogs. The trucks that were scheduled that day were a huge let down. Out of the group of 8 of us, I am the only one who got something that was somewhat decent. Not the best selection of food trucks. It was extremely hot this day as well, so if you didn't have a table with an umbrella, it could be a beating sitting out there. I will say, the bartenders were great, they were quick to get your drink order, but I can't say I loved this experience as a whole compared to Truckyard. read more

The Rail yard! Maybe I set my hopes too high for this place. Visiting Austin one of my favorite memories was of the Rail yard and the joy my kids had playing there. Not so much in Frisco. The atmosphere is low key and relaxed, making it comfortable for adults and children. There's also lots of beer and wine options, as well as some Rail Yard concoctions for the sipping. This place is AWESOME!!! We came on Saturday night and despite the fact that it was super cold we still had a blast. The food was good, the atmosphere is great and there is plenty to do. They have phone charging stations, corn hole, TVs and a live band was playing. The band name was Wooden Nickel and they did a great job and the type of music was perfect was a nice relaxed vibe. I will definitely return and hopefully they have new trucks so I can keep new food. FYI, make sure you dress for the weather! read more

It was not a good experience. We may have chosen the wrong truck however we expected something special. We chose the Caboose and got a hot dog and a corn dog neither of which what special or homemade or even very flavorful. The hot dog I ordered was served on a cold bun you know the kind you buy in the 8 packs for $0.99 and a wiener that was not even as good as the $0.99 wieners from the convenience stores on the corners it was tough and difficult to eat. The only accoutrements were French's mustard in a bottle Sweet Relish in a packet and napkins on a rack outside the door so basically for ar$6 corn dog meal and Hot Dog meal we got a small bag of potato chips a can soft drink and a very simple bun and we did not enjoy either . I love the hand washing stations and we probably should have chosen a different truck I guess our expectations were too high. read more

This is a fun place to eat in Frisco. They have about 4-5 food trucks that are usually here serving up lunch or dinner. We stopped by today for a soft opening for Dapper Doughnuts and it was a cute concept and the mini doughnuts were quite good! It took a while for the doughnuts to be ready and that's because they're fried there on the spot so it's fresh and then they put the toppings on afterwards. It was so hot out today and we'll be back to try food from the other trucks next time. read more

I love this Venue. It is one of my favorite places to go on days where the weather is just perfect. Great location. I highly recommend for all my friends. The only negative I have is that there are way too many unsupervised children running around. They have run right into me and I have spilled my drinks, they are chasing each other around my table, they are kicking up dust and screaming, and they are playing in the bar area getting in the way. I would love to see children not allowed in the yard or that they are required to be kept under the supervision of the parents at all times. I have had friends get up and leave just because the children are allowed to run wild and unsupervised. Overall, I love this place and will continue to come here. I hope the unsupervised children issue will be addressed. read more

Meh. It's alright. It's great to have a new outdoor dining spot and I'm sure things will improve as they get settled in but right now it's just not somewhere I'd put at the top of my list. Tried the shrimp tacos from Cousin's Maine Lobster and wanted to try the lobster bisque but they were out of all soups by the time we got there. I won't be getting the tacos again. Tiny, tasteless and expensive. Basically teensy tiny boiled shrimp on tiny flour tortillas. The tortillas are homemade though. However, if there wasn't pico and cilantro-lime sauce on them, they wouldn't have had any flavor. I didn't even finish them, small as they were because they were so flavorless. After that, I'm not inclined to try anything else there. Husband tried pollo asada and barbacoa tacos from Frezko Taco Spot. They were $1.75 cheaper than my shrimp tacos, much larger and there were 4 instead of 3. They were really good. Looking forward to trying other stuff from this truck. Bartender was very nice and they have a handful local beers in addition to the usual suspects, plus a full bar. We didn't get there til 8:00 on a weekday and the trucks closed down at 9:00 (bar and venue close at 10:00) so keep that mind if you're going a couple of hours before closing time. Seems kid-friendly. Will be a nice bonus if it's ever dog-friendly too. Worth trying again on a weekend with different food options. read more

This place would be awesome if you are a 40ish oblivious mom who likes to get drunk while their maniac kids throw rocks, the connect 4 toy rings and tip over the all the chairs. It's was awful, the corn dog was frozen and microwaved, the pizza was a frozen pizza microwaved. I was so uncomfortable with the kids throwing rocks that we left and trashed the food. I love their atmosphere but wish there were more parking spots available. We tried the cousin Maine lobster and 5th Street cafe. A little pricey for the food but the atmosphere was great. Both trucks had great food. Wish they had drinking fountains there. read more

Good diverse selection and kid friendly with the large spaces with mulch and trains pass by every once in awhile (really hard to find!) they have live music and a great open plan for large gatherings of people. We had the sliders and they were great! There's always a host of things going on but recommend bringing your bug spray. read more

I enjoyed the outdoor setup and the drink selections. (Bar had local beers!) The wait staff was always there when we needed them and extremely friendly. The Rail Yard is extremely clean and well maintained. There was only 2 downfalls: 1. The kids are everywhere (some parents just let them roam around unattended) 2. From what I gather there is only 1 permanent food truck (5th Street Patio) which I am NOT a fan of. I went when Cousins Maine Lobster was there... AWESOME!!!!! I would not go to eat if 5th Street is the only truck, but I would for the drinks and ambiance. read more

Finally made it to the rail yard! We had fun. It is much smaller then it looks in the pictures, but I think that would be an asset if you're coming here at night to hang out and listen to music, which I think would be the best time to come. We came on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty empty. It was hot, but we found a great shady spot to sit down and enjoy our pizza and edible cookie dough. The lady working at the truck was awesome. So helpful and friendly. We bought from her truck simply because she was so great! read more

Concept is great and really enjoy the outdoor atmosphere on pretty days. Options for food, wine and beer selections are all good. They have heaters and blankets for cooler temps as well as fans and misters for blazing hot summer days. Problem is this is a BAR and, while advertised as family friendly, parents should be required to control their children and keep them under direct supervision at all times. On multiple occasions we have witnessed kids seated at separate tables while paying adults stand. On any given visit there is no access to games provided as bar entertainment (like corn hole) because the kids have over run the area, taken bags, or are climbing on the boards. Today we saw a little girl walking along the top of the table while parents were taking photos of her. It is a table top where people EAT, not a balance beam for your kids entertainment. Not sure if I'll be back after today. It would be a great family friendly place if parents would learn and teach their children to respect the area and the other paying patrons. read more

I had a shrimp po' boy and a bottle of Coors, and it came to nearly $20; a pretty hefty price tag. Almost $6.00 for a Coors Original, as much as I like CO, is a bit steep.
