Mac and cheese creamed corn and brisket
    Grace W.

Worth the wait- no frills atmosphere because the frills are in the FOOD! Best brisket I've ever had. Creamed corn was UNREAL- charred corn? Hello?? And the Mac and cheese hits. This was my second visit and it was even better than the first. Team working there was efficient and friendly.

Picnic table seating and cafeteria style lines inside the restaurant.

Voted the best barbecue in the DFW area for 2025,Hutchins BBQ knows how to master their craft. Texas is known for their barbecue and Hutchin's BBQ is delicious. The lines to get in the restaurant run around the corner and through the parking lot. We decided to take out our food order for faster service. Getting in and out of the restaurant was much easier. The service was great. A nice lady took our order and it was about 15 minutes until it was ready. The inside of Hutchins looks like a BBQ restaurant with bright bold color and lots of iridescent lighting. The one cool feature is their pickle bar that includes pickles, pickled onions, raw onions, and two kinds of peppers. You can help yourself and go back as many times as you like. On the menu items, my personal favorite was the brisket. It was tender, full of flavor, and delicious. The pork ribs were dry and tough, I definitely would not order them again. As for the sides, I loved the coleslaw. It was cool, crisp, and on the sweeter side. The potato salad was another favorite. It was creamy and very tasty. I wasn't a fan of the macaroni and cheese, it was too rich for me. And, another side, the green beans were okay. I think they needed some extra love. But, the brisket, coleslaw, and potato salad were top notch. I would definitely go back for those menu items. They were deserving of the best BBQ in the DFW. Applause.

Finally got to try the famous Hutchins! lol went for lunch with friends and literally just decided I would order what I wanted and just see how much it was. I paid $50 before tip for the plate pictured, so you can judge whether you think it's worth it or not. I knew it was gonna be pricey already so don't come here if you broke lol jk. But anyways, I got the brisket chopped, a Texas Twinkie, and hot links. The food was pretty good. Brisket and all the meats were delicious. The sides were okay but I'll have to try some other sides next time. Mashed potatoes were good, pinto beans were lacking a lil in flavor for me. They have some free desserts (peach cobbler and banana pudding) I tried both. Peach cobbler was pretty good. It was more of a cake crust consistency but it tasted pretty good. Banana pudding wasn't bad but pretty standard. Service was good and fast and it took no time to get my food and start eating. Ambiance was nice comfortable vibes. There's like picnic style benches we sat at. I love it. I'll definitely be back to try more meats and variations of sides.

Was visiting from out of town and I am still drooling over this place. Everything was so good, well seasoned and tender that I didn't really felt the need to use sauces. I had the brisket, ribs, sausage, cream corn, Mac & cheese and fries. Brisket and cream corn were my favorite. Loved the dessert station. Fresh peach cobbler with some ice cream on top was top tier. Will definitely be coming back if I'm ever in the area again.

We timed our meal so that we didn't have to wait in a giant line. Last time we came right when they opened and still had to wait 30-45 minutes. This time we came at 3:30pm and walked right in. They offered us a sample of freshly smoked jalapeño cheddar sausage (5/5) on our way into the restaurant. Spicy goodness! I had already decided what I wanted to order but the server gave us a sample of the juicy well seasoned beef rib (5/5) and we had to have it too. We ended up with way too much food (took more than half home)! Pork ribs (5/5) Brisket - asked for juicy center cut (5/5) Coleslaw - crunchy, not very flavorful (3/5) Mac & cheese (3/5) All you can eat dessert bar with banana pudding (3/5) and peach cobbler (2/5) plus a fixings bar with raw onions, pickled onions, bacon bits, shredded cheese, white bread, pickles, jalapeños, etc. Lots of containers and plastic bags for you to easily take food and condiments home. Self service. The meat is THE best barbecue, but their sides are just meh. No alcohol but they encourage you to BYOB. Clean, communal tables with lots of sauces and rolls of paper towels. Expensive but high quality meat. Totally worth it.

    Waiting for some BBQ

So excited to end my week working in Plano with a trip to Hutchins BBQ as I heard all about this place. Got here around 10:30 (opened at 11) and people were waiting in cars, but lined up around 10:55. As we waited in line, got to try one of their beef jalapeno sausage links which made the mouth water for more. Then got up to take my order and went with brisket, St. Louis rib, TX Twinkie, and okra. They have a condiment bar that rocked, so took my platter to the table and chowed down. Everything is incredible and there was enough to make a sandwich with the fixin's to take camping with me. Got to enjoy this sandwich after mountain biking Cedar Hills SP.

Creamed Corn, Mac & Cheese, and Potato Casserole

My friends and coworkers all said we had to come here while traveling for work. My husband and I got: - Brisket - St. Louis Ribs - Creamed Corn - Mac & Cheese - Potato Casserole - Peach Cobbler - Banana Pudding The ribs were really good, but the brisket was my favorite. It was fatty and delicious. I wish we could have gotten a beef rib, but I've heard you have to get there really early to get one. I really enjoyed both the creamed corn and the potato casserole. Velveeta mac & cheese isn't my thing, but my husband liked it. It's crazy to me that the dessert is all you can eat and free. The cobbler was ok, but I loved the banana pudding. I was too full, but I they also have soft serve ice cream. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area again!

This place cannot disappoint. We got there around noon and there was a line, but it moved quick. They gave out samples while we waited. I brought a friend who had never been before along with the friend from my last review. We started talking to people in line and had great fellowship. Came to Dallas to minister and ended up ministering in line. The BRISKET. That is all caps for a reason. We had the brisket and it delivered. We also got the beef ribs and sampled the turkey. I do not know why I always sample the turkey and then never end up getting it, but that is just how it goes. Lean and Chase helped us out and took care of everything. Sides were the fried okra and fried corn, both solid. But the peach cobbler and the banana pudding at the end. I do not know what to say. If I had a golden buzzer I would give it to them. Five stars, and if I come to Dallas, I am coming to Hutchins. That is a guarantee.

When we visited Frisco last weekend, we wanted to find local eats. Hutchins BBQ was near where we stayed so we stopped in for dinner. There was a line out front, but it moved quickly. Once you get close to the main entrance, there's a server giving samples. We were lucky to sample some of the sausage. It was delicious! Then, once inside the main doors, you can see the large menu posted up on the wall. There's also QR code to scan if you'd like to see the full menu. We each ordered two meats and sides. You pick how much (per lb.) you want of the meat. For our sides, I had the broccoli salad and fried okra. My husband had the beans and Mac-n-cheese. He also had a Texas Twinkie, which was a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. He loved it! Really, we loved everything we had! We couldn't finish all of our food, so they have to-go boxes in a self serve area. And the bonus is they have dessert for those dining inside. The choices were vanilla ice cream, peach cobbler, and banana pudding. It's self serve as well. Overall, we are so glad we found Hutchins BBQ and we highly recommend a visit here for a great meal. We'll definitely put it on our list for when we return!

Well first as you saw i waited abt 20-30 to get in on a Tuesday. Someone recommended this spot Service was quick and nicely handled. Spacious and mire than enuff room for everyone. Energizing establishment, lots of excitement so it seems. Long tables to accommodate large outings. Unless you eating wit people it could feel funny eating by yourself. Food was very good. Ribs were seasoned well. And moist! I also was impressed that I could cut the brisket with a plastic fork. That said, i believe the meats were on the oily side. But good overall

Stopped by midweek for lunch. Consistently a crowd at this location. Even though the line was out the door it only took about 10 minutes to place our order. Food was delicious. Staff were delightful. Be sure to leave room for free dessert. Your choice of cobbler, banana, pudding, or fresh soft serve ice cream. Delightful indeed! Best time to visit is mid afternoon during the week. Weekends are very, very busy.

This place is great! The BBQ is outstanding - malts in your mouth. The ribs fall right off the bone. The desserts are fantastic. And the best part was the friendly staff like Sofia Idq. And it's a great place to bring friends - great atmosphere.

I got pulled pork, original sausage, chopped brisket (no oil), and a rack of pork ribs. All the food was delicious and juicy. I especially liked the pork ribs. The meat was very tender.

Ribs & brisket are consistently tender however prices are getting out of control & excessive on the protein menu items.

    Do they offer lean brisket?

Yes, you can ask for different cuts of meat. :)

Can you only order by the pound or to they have an option to try a few items and not get an entire pound of each?

You can ask for any amount of meat. The beef rib you have to buy the whole 2-3lb, each pork rib you can buy individual ribs. They're all weighed out so you can get as little as you want. The side dishes are by paper tray fixed price - so fill it… Read more

Do they have All You can eat Beef Rib?

No. They only have all you can eat dessert

Do you guys run out of brisket usually?

Yes a meat place runs out of meat. That's how they stay in business.

Outgoing message says phone orders must be 24 hours ahead and minimum 5 lbs. So to order anything…

    They are on Doordash.

Are your beef or poultry options Halal, by any chance? Trying to organize a group lunch, but want to make sure everyone has an option open to them.

I don't believe so - they also prepare/serve pork sausage and ribs on the same surfaces as the rest of the meats

    Is this place BYOB?

    Yes, you can BYOB!

Is there still an option for AYCE BBQ?

No more AYCE at either location according to person who answered the phone today 9/23/21. Such sad news.

    Is there outdoor seating?

    Yes!

    Can you make reservations?

Can I BYOB to pass the time in line?

    Yes!

What are Fire Crackers? Also, what is in the broccoli salad? Lastly, do they offer the Texas Twinkies at the Frisco location? Are they available Friday, Sat & Sunday? Do you have a limited quantity of them and do I need to arrive early to get them?

They call the twinkies armadillo toes and you can only get them on the weekend. I don't know what's in the broccoli salad but it's good. And I'm not a huge broccoli fan.

How much is all you can eat per person?

    25 per person

    Is there a drive thru?

No. But you can call ahead and pickup.

    Deep fried turkey?

No fried turkey, just smoked delicious turkey!

    Do they offer gift cards?

    Yes

    Is the patio dog friendly?

I'm sorry I don't think so. I've never seen a dog there but call them!!

The food was good, if not the greatest BBQ I've ever had, but the overall experience was much fun. The restaurant is in the form of a large barn with ample seating and a walk-through line where you can pick out your meat and then any sides and drinks you'd like. I enjoyed having the "conundrum" of trying to figure out which of the meats to try as they stare at you from the smoker, all saying, "Pick me!" My first visit to any BBQ place is nearly always to try the pulled pork, figuring that if they can't get that right, nothing else is likely all that good. That's not always true, but since pulled pork is one of my favorites, it's a good approach anyway. :) I took my platter laden with an abundant amount of pulled pork and then selected corn on the cob, cole slaw, a slice of custard pie, and a sweet tea. After paying, I made my way into the main dining area and selected a high-top wooden table along the wall that was, shall we say, very awkward to sit at based on how the stationary stool was positioned in conjunction with the table, so I moved to a nearby regular table that was just fine. There's plenty of outdoor seating, but based on the temperature that day, I chose to stay inside. Digging in, I found the pulled pork to be good, but it was a little dry and salty. The standard house BBQ sauce was good, though, and the corn on the cob was very nice. The cole slaw was about what you'd expect, and the custard pie was tasty, even if it wasn't the best I'd ever had. The sweet tea was excellent. What I probably loved most, though, was eating all this in that environment, with the Texas-American paraphernalia hanging on the walls and a radio station playing nothing but 80s and 90s country music over the speakers--the years when I loved country the most. I wanted a BBQ experience as big as Texas while I was here, and I got that. For that reason, my visit to Hard Eight was a hit, and I will happily visit again on a future trip.

Our friends got Brisket on hacienda and then had switch it to hill country as the hacienda had tomatoes in queso and bowl of buttered lime rice and smoked chicken with buttered lime rice. None of the entries had any flavor. Hill country tasted like only BBQ sauce and there was not even a hint of mole. Brisket was fine but damp rice made the entree subpar Grilled avocado wqs grilled and again the rice was damp. Smoked Chicken was hard as well. Appetizers were the only good part of experience. Even before the star of the meal appeared, kudos to the smattering of banchan that came out: sprouts, cucumber kimchi, sweet potato, mini meat patties, kimchi, steamed egg, tofu soup, salad greens seasoned, cheese + corn... I hope I didn't miss any! The mushroom bibimbap is flavorful! We've never had this particular bibimbap before and man it goes well with the meat. Beef rib was tender and nice. We wanted it a bit rare :) and it was delish! Dipping sauce was nice but honestly doesn't need it! Oh and the grilled mushroom is good with it. Pork belly was the star of the meal. Had it with 2 week aged grilled kimchi (so special!!) and we got samjang with it, yummm. We were stuffed to the rim and had to take a little box of leftovers home. We were so touched with a little desert rice drink at the end, really rounded out the meal and experience all together. A+ for the service. Amazing job and everything grilled to perfection.
