The staff is just amazing, especially Liz and Cristina. They're genuinely engaged with every customer, and you can tell they take pride in to making sure everyone has an outstanding experience. They're personable attentive and go out of their way to cater to your needs while dining in. Came back around Sunday at 4:30pm and it was about a 30 min wait, which isn't bad. There were samples of the frito pie sausage which was too rich for me. It reiterated my preferences here. Beef ribs are good, although a bit too salty on top, while the brisket is a bit too chewy and I've had better even outside of TX. The hot links aren't much spicy but tasty and the TX twinkle are a hit. Ordered 2 pounds of brisket with 3 medium sides as a family pack (take a look at the packs for cheaper bundles) as well as 3 beef ribs, but could have done with one less. The lines to get in the restaurant run around the corner and through the parking lot. We decided to take out our food order for faster service. Getting in and out of the restaurant was much easier. The service was great. A nice lady took our order and it was about 15 minutes until it was ready. The inside of Hutchins looks like a BBQ restaurant with bright bold color and lots of iridescent lighting. The one cool feature is their pickle bar that includes pickles, pickled onions, raw onions, and two kinds of peppers. You can help yourself and go back as many times as you like. On the menu items, my personal favorite was the brisket. It was tender, full of flavor, and delicious. The pork ribs were dry and tough, I definitely would not order them again. As for the sides, I loved the coleslaw. It was cool, crisp, and on the sweeter side. The potato salad was another favorite. It was creamy and very tasty. Finally got to try the famous Hutchins! lol went for lunch with friends and literally just decided I would order what I wanted and just see how much it was. I paid $50 before tip for the plate pictured, so you can judge whether you think it's worth it or not. I knew it was gonna be pricey already so don't come here if you broke lol jk. So excited to end my week working in Plano with a trip to Hutchins BBQ as I heard all about this place. Got here around 10:30 (opened at 11) and people were waiting in cars, but lined up around 10:55. As we waited in line, got to try one of their beef jalapeno sausage links which made the mouth water for more. Then got up to take my order and went with brisket, St. Louis rib, TX Twinkie, and okra. When we visited Frisco last weekend, we wanted to find local eats. Hutchins BBQ was near where we stayed so we stopped in for dinner. There was a line out front, but it moved quickly. Once you get close to the main entrance, there's a server giving samples. We were lucky to sample some of the sausage. It was delicious! Then, once inside the main doors, you can see the large menu posted up on the wall. There's also QR code to scan if you'd like to see the full menu. We each ordered two meats and sides. You pick how much (per lb.) you want of the meat. For our sides, I had the broccoli salad and fried okra. My husband had the beans and Mac-n-cheese. But that's usually a good sign when it comes to BBQ. As you get closer to the counter, they let you sample the sausage, which is a dangerous move because they're all incredible. I tried all three and every one was great, but the jalapeño cheese sausage absolutely stole the show. When it was time to order, remember the meat is priced by the pound, so things can get serious quickly. I went big and grabbed the massive brontosaurus beef rib, and it was exactly what you want from Texas BBQ smoky, juicy, and cooked perfectly. One pro tip: get the baked potato stuffed with brisket. For about $14, it's basically a BBQ hack. You get a loaded potato and a generous pile of brisket, and it's totally worth it. I also had to try the Texas Twinkie (bacon-wrapped jalapeño stuffed with brisket and cream cheese). Trust me... don't skip this. For sides we grabbed the small cream corn and small fried okra, and both portions were easily big enough to share. I understand the hype! I'm very grateful to have tried this during my trip to Texas. We ordered the Party Pack (3lb meat, 3 large sides, and choice of bread or buns), and one additional lb of meat by itself for a group of 7. We chose 1lb brisket, 2lb ribs, 1lb original sausage, mac n cheese, potato casserole, corn, and bread. I wish I we chose buns instead of bread, as I didn't realize they would give just an entire loaf of just Artesano bread lol. The bbq itself was delicious! This was my second dinner of the evening. That's right - after a team dinner, one of us from out of town had this place on his list of things to try for his first visit to TX. A local teammate indulged our overindulgence - lol! And off we went. This place means business - with 7 industrial size smokers outside, I'm told the line usually snakes to get into this place. Luckily it was a little later so the line was inside (and it was chilly weather in January!) . But it was still a long line and bustling inside. Very casual and open. We had a sampling spilt between us. And it was all pretty good. I love a good brisket (moist of course), and this don't disappoint. The ribs were good as well, and the sides were decent. I even sampled the free (as long as you dine in) dessert - large slice trays of cobbler and banana pudding. Those weren't great - the cobbler had too much gel, and the pudding was very whipped and had very little wafers or banana. But a nice add - all you can eat (self serve), and free. My last visit was in 2014, when they were not open Monday and Tuesday and closed when they were out of meat. Our visit is to show my son's friend from Connecticut what Texas barbecue is like. Yesterday it was Bob's Steak and Chop House. He wanted a meal at a real steak house. No shortage go those here. Since we have leftovers from Bob"s in there fridge at home. I decided to keep this simple for me. I ordered a baked potato with chopped beef and tea. There are four men serving the meats at their stations and four more people to serve the sides. I moved on to pay at one of the six cashiers. My bill, with tip, was $30.00. Yikes! No sides either. I have a handicap and use a cane. A employee appeared out of nowhere to carry my tray and get my drink. Off we go to a table and my group catches up with me. Great service. The line we stood in was about 30 minutes out the door. When we left at 7:30, the line was even longer, with about 25 people down the sidewalk. Everyone thinks this is the best by far for Barbecue and will put up with the line, even at lunch on a weekday. It was surprisingly difficult to find basic things like plates, bread, and to-go containers. The pit master wasn't particularly friendly either, which was disappointing since most BBQ places in Texas have that warm, welcoming feel. This one felt more like a corporate chain rather than a hometown BBQ spot. That said, the ladies cleaning tables and helping customers were very kind and attentive. There was a bit of a language barrier at times, but they were genuinely nice and hardworking. Now, let's talk about the food. The sausage was definitely the star of the show. Flavor-wise and texture-wise, it was superior compared to many other places around town. I would absolutely come back just for the sausage alone. We usually go for fatty brisket. While theirs was tender and nicely smoky, it honestly uneventful. It lacked that deep, flavorful bark you expect from a brisket that's been smoked low and slow for hours. If you prefer lean brisket, theirs might be ok But for us, it didn't quite hit the mark especially considering they're the most expensive in town per pound. As for the sides; mac and cheese, creamed corn, broccoli salad, beans, potato casserole, and coleslaw. None of them really stood out. They were fine, but it was whatever. One nice touch was the complimentary dessert: banana pudding, peach cobbler, and soft-serve ice cream. The banana pudding was very banana-forward. The cobbler was about a 7 out of 10 not the best I've had, but not the worst either. What made it enjoyable was the slight pinch of salt in the crust, which cut the sweet. Pretty nice. The hotlinks were also very good and flavorful. The line was pretty long when we got there but it moved faster than expected which was a nice surprise. I'm always with group of friends, and while the line is always out the door, the line moves pretty quickly. It's located in a spacious plaza with ample parking and numerous table seating both inside and outside. They are super organized and clean as well. Now to the food. If you are lucky, they give out free samples to try right by the entrance. That day, it was a sausage, which was super yummy. When it was out turn to pick out our meats and sides, they halted the line briefly as there were no seats available and they want to make sure we would enjoy our food with the right temp, which I appreciated a lot. My fave meats are as follows: moist brisket, pork ribs, and sausages. For the sides, I love their corn, green beans and fries. I've tried the other ones like their fried okras and they were good too. Now for their desserts, please do not leave this place until you have tried their Peach Cobbler. It is absolutely to die for. Do not sleep on their banana pudding as well. I am in Dallas for a Confernce, and was able to visit my cousin and uncle in McKinney, TX. We went to Hutchins for dinner. I am from New Jersey, and my cousin had guest from Korea. Although there was a long line on a Wednesday night the sitting crew allowed my 91 year old uncle to be seated immediately, as the others in our party waited their turn in line to make it in the building. Think I've found the best Texan BBQ ever at Hutchins. Samples given out at the entrance was a good start, and the brisket was TENDERNISM itself that fulfilled the expectations. The weather was a little chilly but we waited outside the door about 10 mins. They offered samples of the frito pie sausage, it was good but I was ready to eat. I ordered 6 ribs, half chicken and a TX Twinkie which is a bacon wrapped, stuffed pepper. All meats can be ordered by the pound or even by saying you want "this" much. They will oblige. Once you get to the sides, you can get as much as will fit in the container. I got green beans and Cole slaw. My son and husband got their selections of ribs, sausage, chicken and pulled pork. Also ordered hand cut fries. Food was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the pork rib. Second favorite was the chicken. The spicy bbq sauce was amazing. You don't need much sauce but it adds a great flavor to the meat. The ribs were super tender and seasoned very well. Same with the chicken. Everyone in the place was super nice, asked where we were from and made sure we got what we needed. We had to search for a table but I found one as another party was leaving. Free desserts like peach cobbler and banana pudding. Also ice cream. They have to go plates available because mostly we order too much food. The leftovers were excellent. Walking out, we discovered super long lines but food is worth the wait. The smokers outside were a sight to see and I see why this place stays busy. read more

Wow--hands down the BEST Texas barbecue I've ever had. The food was unbelievable and the service was just as amazing--so warm and friendly. My husband suggested we try it while we were in Texas because we'd seen so many rave YouTube videos, and they were all spot-on. And did I mention the free dessert? Huge bonus. 5 stars isn't enough! Easily one of the best BBQ restaurants I have ever been to. I didn't want to use any sauce to dilute the meat taste. My youngest son and I arrived around 11:30 AM on a Saturday and were able to get in the door. Enjoyed our free sausage sample. We ordered and the butcher/cutter was super friendly and accommodating. We had brisket (best ever) and sausage. Sides-Mac and cheese/loaded mashed potatoes were outstanding. Free dessert too! There isn't enough to say between the amazing food quality and helpful service. Rarely is there a correlation. Hutchins is truly one of the best BBQ venues out there. I'd return in a second. 5 stars doesn't do it justice! You don't want to miss an opportunity here. read more

We stopped here on Sunday evening. This BBQ spot was referred to us by locals as well as it's rated the #1 pit spot in Frisco . It was so busy, there was a line literally out the door and around the building. We arrived about 6:30 PM, they close at 9:00 PM We decided to hit up another spot (right next door) to wait for the line to go down & grabbed a drink. Note: Hutchin's doesn't serve alcohol. Waited an hour-then checked the line again and it didn't seem to have really gone down. So, unfortunately I can't speak to the experience of their BBQ, but can say based on the fact that this place was packed (alway is) we can sure say we were absolutely bummed out not to have participate in the masterful BBQ everyone raves about!
