Came to Dallas to visit family, and I was told we had to try Hutchins BBQ. I'm so glad we did because it definitely lived up to the hype! The line was long, but it moved surprisingly fast. While we waited, they had water available, and once we got closer to the door, they encouraged everyone to sample different meats, which was a nice touch. The men behind the counter were courteous and helpful. The gentleman (who assisted also has family from Chicago) was especially great--and handsome . He took his time explaining the different meats, recommended the best cuts, and even offered us samples to help us decide. The food was outstanding. The meat was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. It was so good that I completely forgot about my sides until I was almost finished! The seating is cafeteria-style, there was plenty of room, the staff was friendly throughout our visit, and the restaurant was very clean. I'd definitely come back!

If you're looking for authentic Texas barbecue, Hutchins Barbeque in Frisco is an absolute must! We were visiting Texas for a month and ended up eating here once or twice a week--and we have zero regrets. The mac & cheese with little bits of bacon mixed in is to die for, and the creamed corn is hands down the best I've ever had. Every meat we tried was incredible--the brisket, beef, ribs, and chicken were all cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. One thing we really loved was the multiple seating areas and the large community-style tables. They create such a welcoming atmosphere, and we ended up striking up conversations with people we had never met before that turned into some really great conversations. It made the whole experience feel even more like true Texas hospitality. What really made us keep coming back, though, was the staff. They were so friendly and even remembered who we were when we came back to dine in again, which made us feel so welcome. And don't even think about leaving without the banana pudding. It seriously tastes award-winning and is one of the best I've ever had. The fact that it's free for dine-in guests makes it even better--you'll definitely be going back for a second helping! We can't wait to come back to Texas just so we can eat here again. Hutchins Barbeque is now one of our favorite barbecue spots anywhere. As soon as I walked in, I knew this wasn't going to be an ordinary barbecue stop. The hospitality started before I even sat down. The guys slicing the meat asked if it was my first visit and where I'd been getting barbecue. I jokingly told them, "Apparently all the wrong places." We all had a good laugh, and that set the tone for the entire experience. Ari was taking care of my section and was fantastic. She noticed I was looking around and asked if it was my first time there. We ended up chatting for a bit about her family in North Carolina, where I've spent many years, and she made me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I sat down. I arrived just after the lunch rush, which turned out to be perfect. The lean brisket was absolutely spot on--tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly right. The Texas Twinkie was every bit as good as advertised and worth ordering all by itself. I skipped the traditional sides because I came for the meat, but I was impressed by the condiment bar loaded with pickles, pickled onions, peppers, toppings for baked potatoes, and just about anything else you could want alongside great barbecue. Then came the surprise: complimentary dessert. The banana pudding was good, but after years of living in North Carolina, banana pudding takes on something special. This one was solid, but that peach cobbler absolutely stole the show. Hot, fresh, rich, and delicious enough that I found myself going back for another bite long after I should have stopped. Great barbecue is one thing. Great barbecue served by people who genuinely enjoy what they do is something else entirely. This place is the complete package. The food was outstanding, the staff was welcoming, and the entire experience felt authentic. Easily one of the top three barbecue restaurants I've visited in Texas, and that's saying something. Hutchins BBQ has earned a permanent spot on my list of places to revisit every time I'm in the area.

Line moved pretty quick even though it was outside the door when I arrived at dinner time on a Saturday night. All the employees were super friendly. They had free samples of sausage to try while you were waiting on line and iced water. I tried the frito pie sausage which is only made on the weekend (really good). I tried the brisket, turkey, jalapeño sausage, and jalapeño pinto beans. Overall the sausage was the most delicious - flavorful and well cooked. While all the meats were cooked well, I was underwhelmed by the seasonings/flavor on the brisket and turkey. They didn't have a whole lot of flavor. The beans were really soupy and also lacked flavor. I only had a few bites.

Voted the best barbecue in the DFW area for 2025,Hutchins BBQ knows how to master their craft. Texas is known for their barbecue and Hutchin's BBQ is delicious. The lines to get in the restaurant run around the corner and through the parking lot. We decided to take out our food order for faster service. Getting in and out of the restaurant was much easier. The service was great. A nice lady took our order and it was about 15 minutes until it was ready. The inside of Hutchins looks like a BBQ restaurant with bright bold color and lots of iridescent lighting. The one cool feature is their pickle bar that includes pickles, pickled onions, raw onions, and two kinds of peppers. You can help yourself and go back as many times as you like. On the menu items, my personal favorite was the brisket. It was tender, full of flavor, and delicious. The pork ribs were dry and tough, I definitely would not order them again. As for the sides, I loved the coleslaw. It was cool, crisp, and on the sweeter side. The potato salad was another favorite. It was creamy and very tasty. I wasn't a fan of the macaroni and cheese, it was too rich for me. And, another side, the green beans were okay. I think they needed some extra love. But, the brisket, coleslaw, and potato salad were top notch. I would definitely go back for those menu items. They were deserving of the best BBQ in the DFW. Applause.

Finally got to try the famous Hutchins! lol went for lunch with friends and literally just decided I would order what I wanted and just see how much it was. I paid $50 before tip for the plate pictured, so you can judge whether you think it's worth it or not. I knew it was gonna be pricey already so don't come here if you broke lol jk. But anyways, I got the brisket chopped, a Texas Twinkie, and hot links. The food was pretty good. Brisket and all the meats were delicious. The sides were okay but I'll have to try some other sides next time. Mashed potatoes were good, pinto beans were lacking a lil in flavor for me. They have some free desserts (peach cobbler and banana pudding) I tried both. Peach cobbler was pretty good. It was more of a cake crust consistency but it tasted pretty good. Banana pudding wasn't bad but pretty standard. Service was good and fast and it took no time to get my food and start eating. Ambiance was nice comfortable vibes. There's like picnic style benches we sat at. I love it. I'll definitely be back to try more meats and variations of sides.

Came back around Sunday at 4:30pm and it was about a 30 min wait, which isn't bad. There were samples of the frito pie sausage which was too rich for me. It reiterated my preferences here. Beef ribs are good, although a bit too salty on top, while the brisket is a bit too chewy and I've had better even outside of TX. The hot links aren't much spicy but tasty and the TX twinkle are a hit. Ordered 2 pounds of brisket with 3 medium sides as a family pack (take a look at the packs for cheaper bundles) as well as 3 beef ribs, but could have done with one less. The broccoli slaw is definitely the best, while coleslaw is decent too.

We timed our meal so that we didn't have to wait in a giant line. Last time we came right when they opened and still had to wait 30-45 minutes. This time we came at 3:30pm and walked right in. They offered us a sample of freshly smoked jalapeño cheddar sausage (5/5) on our way into the restaurant. Spicy goodness! I had already decided what I wanted to order but the server gave us a sample of the juicy well seasoned beef rib (5/5) and we had to have it too. We ended up with way too much food (took more than half home)! Pork ribs (5/5) Brisket - asked for juicy center cut (5/5) Coleslaw - crunchy, not very flavorful (3/5) Mac & cheese (3/5) All you can eat dessert bar with banana pudding (3/5) and peach cobbler (2/5) plus a fixings bar with raw onions, pickled onions, bacon bits, shredded cheese, white bread, pickles, jalapeños, etc. Lots of containers and plastic bags for you to easily take food and condiments home. Self service. The meat is THE best barbecue, but their sides are just meh. No alcohol but they encourage you to BYOB. Clean, communal tables with lots of sauces and rolls of paper towels. Expensive but high quality meat. Totally worth it.

My friends and coworkers all said we had to come here while traveling for work. My husband and I got: - Brisket - St. Louis Ribs - Creamed Corn - Mac & Cheese - Potato Casserole - Peach Cobbler - Banana Pudding The ribs were really good, but the brisket was my favorite. It was fatty and delicious. I wish we could have gotten a beef rib, but I've heard you have to get there really early to get one. I really enjoyed both the creamed corn and the potato casserole. Velveeta mac & cheese isn't my thing, but my husband liked it. It's crazy to me that the dessert is all you can eat and free. The cobbler was ok, but I loved the banana pudding. I was too full, but I they also have soft serve ice cream. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area again!

TLDR. Made it to one of the most highly rated BBQ places in DFW and beyond. Father's Day, they opened at 11a, I arrived 9:40a & stayed in my car til another fellow arrived at 9:50 & went ahead up to wait at the door. I joined him. They are organized. One entry door is for Dine In, the other door for Take Out. The line def grew, for Dine In the line was already around the corner of the bldg by the time they opened - but a sign said they have seating for about 290, so a lot of ppl can be in there. for Take Out, you walk in & walk straight to the back. There are two cashiers there ready to take orders. After you place your order, you step back and hang out in that general area. You have an order number on your receipt, a staff member will come out of the rear kitchen & call your number when it's ready. The food. I opted to order a variety/sampler type order: 1/2 pound each of prime brisket sliced, pulled pork, jalapeño & cheese sausage, and pork ribs. Also ord'd two Texas Twinkies. Sides ordered were: potato casserole, fried okra, creamed corn, and broccoli salad. Then for dessert, a pint each of peach cobbler and banana pudding. I was first in line for Take Out, I had the order, grabbed bread, & was in the car at 11:08. Nice & efficient. We got set up for the meal where I went, and had a sample of all mentioned. I tried each meat by itself, and then later each one with sauce. The brisket and pork rib meat were smoky, flavorful, moist, and tender. Solid. But the stars of the meat were the jlpño-cheddar sausage & pulled pork. The sausage was cheesy with some kick (duh), but it also was physically more filling & consistency-wise thicker & heartier than any I can recall. The pulled pork had a coating or addition of something in or on it (a little bit of brown sugar, perhaps, that caramelized during cooking, etc?). Whatever it is, it works very well. First two meats mentioned were solid, the latter two were stellar. And then when eaten with the sauce added, they were all fantastic. Elite tier bbq meat. the Tx Twinkies have been around awhile, I've known of them, but had never eaten one til today. (I eat veg 99.9% of the time, & just hop off the wagon for one meal every so often on a special occasion, like today). the Twinkie was decent, I was expecting a different blend of all the flavors together - but that had to do with my forecast of the taste, not Hutchins' assembly or cooking of the product. Their execution was on point - all ingred in their proper place and cooked to a nice crisp. Sides: creamed corn is Dynamite! Broccoli salad very very flavorful! Potato casserole in the A range. The flavor of fried okra was A range, but the breading was inconsistent on 5-10% of the (very large) serving. Liked it for sure, just noted on some minor issues of breading staying on the okra. Desserts. The peach cobbler texture-wise has more of (but not exclusively) a super moist cake feel to it - BUT do not let this dissuade you, the taste is straight-up deliciousness! No, it's not a traditional cobbler consistency, but don't overthink it - try it, you'll be very delighted you did. The banana pudding was standard fare as banana pudding goes. It was on par as any - not superior to any other, but also not less than anyone else's either. Out the door, incl tax, $125. Fed four adults to completely satisfied. Just over $31 per person. Overall, 5 stars, no doubt whatsoever! Wonderful meats, superb sauce which amplifies, flavor of all sides in A or A+ range, friendly staff & efficient operation. Strong recommend.

This place cannot disappoint. We got there around noon and there was a line, but it moved quick. They gave out samples while we waited. I brought a friend who had never been before along with the friend from my last review. We started talking to people in line and had great fellowship. Came to Dallas to minister and ended up ministering in line. The BRISKET. That is all caps for a reason. We had the brisket and it delivered. We also got the beef ribs and sampled the turkey. I do not know why I always sample the turkey and then never end up getting it, but that is just how it goes. Lean and Chase helped us out and took care of everything. Sides were the fried okra and fried corn, both solid. But the peach cobbler and the banana pudding at the end. I do not know what to say. If I had a golden buzzer I would give it to them. Five stars, and if I come to Dallas, I am coming to Hutchins. That is a guarantee.

When we visited Frisco last weekend, we wanted to find local eats. Hutchins BBQ was near where we stayed so we stopped in for dinner. There was a line out front, but it moved quickly. Once you get close to the main entrance, there's a server giving samples. We were lucky to sample some of the sausage. It was delicious! Then, once inside the main doors, you can see the large menu posted up on the wall. There's also QR code to scan if you'd like to see the full menu. We each ordered two meats and sides. You pick how much (per lb.) you want of the meat. For our sides, I had the broccoli salad and fried okra. My husband had the beans and Mac-n-cheese. He also had a Texas Twinkie, which was a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. He loved it! Really, we loved everything we had! We couldn't finish all of our food, so they have to-go boxes in a self serve area. And the bonus is they have dessert for those dining inside. The choices were vanilla ice cream, peach cobbler, and banana pudding. It's self serve as well. Overall, we are so glad we found Hutchins BBQ and we highly recommend a visit here for a great meal. We'll definitely put it on our list for when we return!

This place lives up to the hype! The line looked long but only took about 10 minutes to get in. I tried the brisket, jalapeño sausage, Texas Twinkies, mac n cheese, baked mashed potatoes, and banana pudding. When everything comes out perfect like this it's hard to know what to eat first! Everything was great. If I was forced to pick a favorite, it'd be those Texas Twinkies.

    Do they offer lean brisket?

Yes, you can ask for different cuts of meat. :)

Can you only order by the pound or to they have an option to try a few items and not get an entire pound of each?

You can ask for any amount of meat. The beef rib you have to buy the whole 2-3lb, each pork rib you can buy individual ribs. They're all weighed out so you can get as little as you want. The side dishes are by paper tray fixed price - so fill it… Read more

Do you guys run out of brisket usually?

Yes a meat place runs out of meat. That's how they stay in business.

    They are on Doordash.

Are your beef or poultry options Halal, by any chance? Trying to organize a group lunch, but want to make sure everyone has an option open to them.

I don't believe so - they also prepare/serve pork sausage and ribs on the same surfaces as the rest of the meats

    Is this place BYOB?

    Yes, you can BYOB!

Is there still an option for AYCE BBQ?

No more AYCE at either location according to person who answered the phone today 9/23/21. Such sad news.

    Yes!

    Can you make reservations?

Can I BYOB to pass the time in line?

What are Fire Crackers? Also, what is in the broccoli salad? Lastly, do they offer the Texas Twinkies at the Frisco location? Are they available Friday, Sat & Sunday? Do you have a limited quantity of them and do I need to arrive early to get them?

They call the twinkies armadillo toes and you can only get them on the weekend. I don't know what's in the broccoli salad but it's good. And I'm not a huge broccoli fan.

Experience at much better establishments, like Happy Pancake, in Shibuya or Ginza offer three pancakes with a greater quantity of whipped cream and fruits at roughly $8.25 with no expectations on tips. I understand we're in the states and this may not be a fair comparison, but the variance in both quantity and price is steep. Other than that, the product is good and worth a try.

You can get double this amount with better ice cream (this is purely soft serve) at something like an Andy's. I felt this medium stacker my partner and I shared was good but not worth $8 when I can get an almost equivalent, twice the size cup of soft serve at the sams club cafe for $1. That being said, my last visit I did enjoy the mint brownie shake that I got.

Every time I walked by on both Saturday and Sunday, the line was out the door. After seeing how busy it was on Saturday, I honestly expected better preparation for Sunday -- especially with staffing. I finally stopped by around 8:00 p.m. Sunday night when the line wasn't nearly as long, but it still took over 29 minutes just to get an ice cream. There was only one person working the register and one person preparing all the orders on his own. That said, both employees remained calm and professional the entire time. They did not appear stressed despite the constant flow of customers, and they handled everything with patience. Major credit to them for keeping it together all weekend. Management, however, could have anticipated the volume of a large cheer competition and staffed accordingly. With better preparation, the experience could have been much smoother. Kudos to the two employees for staying composed and doing their best under tough circumstances.
