The pork ribs were meaty, flavorful, and cooked just right. The real surprise was the green beans. They were outstanding and easily one of the best sides I've had at a BBQ restaurant. Heavy food that left our trip to Texas a disappointment. The brisket was melt in your mouth good but the rest of my meal was a miss. The others in my party were left disappointed as their chopped brisket and turkey weren't anything to return for. As for me, I had asked for a sliced brisket sandwich but received three slices of brisket and told the bread I can get at the self serve area. Everything needed to be assembled when I got home which I actually preferred. I loaded my potato with bacon, butter, sour cream and cheese then topped it with the brisket. The potato was excellent, it was so hearty, the brisket was delicious as was the bbq sauce. My only critique is for the price($20), I think the potato should be much bigger, it was an average size potato but I will say after assembling everything it was alot of food. I appreciate the overwhelming amount of sides to pick from and how they fill everything to the brim for you. Sausage had a great bite and I even tried their Frito Pie sausage in line! Although both will get my business, Frisco didn't disappoint yesterday! One thing I'll say about the service. It was fantastic. Fun fact - Fort Worth is far from Frisco. Nonetheless, it was well worth the drive. Despite it being around 2-3 PM, there was still a line out of the restaurant. The inside was bustling. Almost every table was filled. And for good reason. Thankfully, my friends had already made it so I did not have to wait in line (thank you if you're reading this hehe). For a group of six, we got the Family Pack. It's advertised to feed 3-4 people. It definitely was more than enough for us. Though, we also did get some extras. Our spread included some jalapeno cheddar sausage, brisket, pork ribs, Texas Twinkies, and beef ribs. Sides included french fries, green beans, coleslaw, creamed corn, and mac and cheese. I honestly did not have any personal complaints about any of the meats or sides. Some of the group did feel that there was too much cream cheese in the Texas Twinkies. I respectfully disagreed. Sure, it's quite rich but that's the point. Out of the meats, my favorite was easily the brisket. It's exactly what you envision and want from Texas brisket - smoky, beefy, and with the perfect balance of lean and fatty texture. My favorite side would be the creamed corn. Although still rich, the sweetness and velvety texture was an appreciated break amidst the smorgasbord of meat. Lastly, can't finish this review without mentioning the desert. Complimentary all-you-can-eat self-serve dessert that is. The inside of Hutchins looks like a BBQ restaurant with bright bold color and lots of iridescent lighting. The one cool feature is their pickle bar that includes pickles, pickled onions, raw onions, and two kinds of peppers. You can help yourself and go back as many times as you like. On the menu items, my personal favorite was the brisket. It was tender, full of flavor, and delicious. The pork ribs were dry and tough, I definitely would not order them again. As for the sides, I loved the coleslaw. It was cool, crisp, and on the sweeter side. The potato salad was another favorite. It was creamy and very tasty. The Texas Twinkie was every bit as good as advertised and worth ordering all by itself. I skipped the traditional sides because I came for the meat, but I was impressed by the condiment bar loaded with pickles, pickled onions, peppers, toppings for baked potatoes, and just about anything else you could want alongside great barbecue. Then came the surprise: complimentary dessert. The banana pudding was good, but after years of living in North Carolina, banana pudding takes on something special. When we visited Frisco last weekend, we wanted to find local eats. Hutchins BBQ was near where we stayed so we stopped in for dinner. There was a line out front, but it moved quickly. Once you get close to the main entrance, there's a server giving samples. We were lucky to sample some of the sausage. It was delicious! He also had a Texas Twinkie, which was a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. He loved it! Really, we loved everything we had! Well first as you saw i waited abt 20-30 to get in on a Tuesday. Someone recommended this spot Service was quick and nicely handled. Spacious and mire than enuff room for everyone. Energizing establishment, lots of excitement so it seems. Long tables to accommodate large outings. Unless you eating wit people it could feel funny eating by yourself. Food was very good. Ribs were seasoned well. And moist! I also was impressed that I could cut the brisket with a plastic fork. That said, i believe the meats were on the oily side. But good overall read more
