Food was great! Had to have the tequeno on the ride home. Arepas are messy but worth it. Service was good and quick. The total was roughly $35 (tip included).

First time here. Delicious item I've never had nor ever heard of. It was like a Gordita, but totally different flavor and texture with shredded seasoned chicken, a slice of deli type meat, shredded cabbage, thick white cheese, and a tasty cream sauce. It was delicious and I'd order it again. The menu has many items I've never seen or heard of but the photos looked good. I have it 4 stars because the guy behind the counter didn't speak a word of English therefore was pretty useless, though some what friendly. When you own a business in a land of English, but your employees don't speak English, you won't earn your fullest potential. I'll be back for more.

Food is ok but expensive, very unwelcoming, not friendly at all, the old man with glasses (I think is the owner) very rude. Won't go back.

First off, the outside as well as inside of the establishment is beautiful! When you walk in, the restaurant is beautifully decorated; it's a cross between a fast-food establishment and a restaurant dining-style. I believe another Yelper also mentioned that fact as well. One can order in two options: using the self-kiosk, or going to the counter where there is someone there to take your order. Having both options available is rather convenient. For my food, I got the Famous Meal #1: Italian Beef Sandwich. However, I came prepared: it was going to be personalized to be the perfect meal. FIRST: make it big ($2), then add sweet and hot peppers ($1.98), mozz cheese ($.89), and ordered slightly wet. For my sides, I opted for the large onion rings ($4.99), and in addition --- this is A LOT -- I got the famous Chocolate Cake Shake (additional $6.19). If you were going to get a normal meal, it would probably cost you about $14.57. Mine -- with all the add-ons? $26.88. Take that into consideration. How was the food? Portillo's is definitely the experience many Chicagoans have heaped about. The "dipped" Italian Beef Sandwich was generously portioned, and if I had anything to comment-on --- it would be adding more sweet + hot peppers to the sandwich. Besides that, everything else was spot-on. On to that famous milk-shake: if you're a first-timer DO IT. How does it taste? It honestly tastes like a "real" version of a frosty from Wendy's --- taste wise. At least we know what's in this milkshake: Ice Cream, Milk, and a slice of chocolate cake. It was thick, creamy, and hit the spot. All-in-all, I totally recommend Portillo's if there is a location near you! It's definitely an American institution and is worthy of the hype.

We approached the counter and placed our order then waited for our number to be called. The establishment is fairly large with brightly colored decor and table/booth seating options. It was clean and the customer service was exceptional. There was a lady calling out orders over the intercom. She used quirky call outs for each order number which was a nice added touch to the experience! I ordered the Italian beef with melted cheese and it was delicious! The bread was nicely toasted, meat was juicy and flavorful and the cheese brought it all together! Highly recommend!

There are kiosk if you want to place an order, but I traditionally like to get the vibe of the workers who greet me. I went to the counter and someone immediately came to take my order. The greeting was lackluster but ok. I was really not totally familiar with the different options and I had questions. My questions were answered appropriately but really did not understand the hot and not options. I ended up getting the hot peppers on the side. The taste of the sausage with Italian beef was phenomenal. I loved the crinkle cut fries. The store was clean and well organized I will visit again.

There's nothing worse than ordering a "cooked fresh, made to order burger" and ending up with one that's barely warm. I was told, "All of our burgers are made to order," which sounds right. But when you get home after a 7-minute drive and your burger is registering 74 degrees, it definitely feels a little bamboozling. What really gets me is that my fries were hotter than the burger. And this isn't the first time it's happened either. Lately, they've been very hit or miss. I genuinely don't understand why it's so difficult to serve food that's actually hot when it's supposed to be made to order.

Whether it's trendy or not, I'm happy to say that after 2 years away, I can now revisit Cava with fresh eyes and a fresh perspective. Most elements of this shop have remained the same over the years. Fast casual customizable product. Simple straightforward options with a Mediterranean twist. Fountain drinks with a few worth while additions. They are however mixing things up with glazed salmon, seasoned pita chips and something strawberry sesame for the summer. I won't detail the ordering process because if you've been to any restaurant of this type, you've been to them all, but I will say that even though there were a few hiccups in my order (the crew was replacing meats, but did not replace the salmon leaving me with older salmon, and my greens ended up on top leaving a pool of sauce at the bottom of my bowl after confusion around limited power greens), they're still worth the revisit. They were slammed after all and even with the hiccups I enjoyed my bowl and appreciate the ingredient transparency. Happy healthy eating out!
