Well I went with an open mind and did not let some of the reviews sway my opinions. I noticed some of the were older any way. I'm glad we went. It was delicious. Things may have changed since some of these diners reviewed but our whole party had great things to say. We all agreed we would go again at another time. We were lucky enough to get Megan as our server and she was phenomenal. Great asset to this business. She took the time to go over and give recommendations. It was our first time there. Very family friendly and the decor was well done. They offer a small bar in the front as you enter the restaurant for those who might want appetizers and watch a game and hangout. They appear to have a private room off to the side that holds about 50 people that they offer with a guarantee that you will spend a certain amount of money. We had dinner at Pecos Grilling on a Friday night. I called ahead to see if they had a full bar. Whoever answered the phone said there were open seats. Ummm... I re-asked several different ways and finally got what I was looking for! We waited about 5 minutes. We ordered a drink at the bar and then got sat. Once sat, our waitress acknowledged us about 3-5 minutes later. We ordered 2 waters, a coke and cheese sticks. The coke came first. The cheese sticks about 5 minutes later, then the water about 10 minutes later. Our waitress stopped by before the water got there to see if we were ready to order. We didn't even have water yet! The place was pretty busy. Our waitress just struggled to keep up with her tables. There was another waitress who was more experienced that jumped in and helped us. We finally were able to order our dinner. The cook, or someone, came out to tell us they were out of the cut of meat we ordered. This was a disappointment because we were here to celebrate my other half's birthday. So it wasn't off to a great start. We picked something else and by the time we got our food, it was cold. (Can you hear the heavy sigh?) The manager offered to take care of my meal, but I'm not about getting a free meal. I ended up letting him give us a discount. He was very nice and really tried to make things right. So, with all the things that went wrong, I am willing to give this place a try again. read more

We went to this place for our rehearsal dinner. I had never been there before so I was taking a chance that it was good. The decor is Rustic Texas or old Steakhouse. The service was top notch. Our server was very attentive without being overly attentive. Just the right amount of attentiveness! Everything that everyone ordered came out hot and fresh. Not one single person complained about their meal. So to me, that's a huge win. Next time I'm in the area, I'm going to make a point to stop by again and try some of the other things that they have on the menu. read more

I'm not sure how this place has a couple of good reviews as of recently, because it is not good whatsoever. I ordered a medium well ribeye and my fiancé a medium bone-in ribeye. They were both very rare and super, super fatty. The ribeye was extremely hard to chew and I had to either cut around the fat or just spit it out. The flavor was also not there for my ribeye, but my fiancé's was decently flavored compared to mine. The vegetable of the day were green beans with bacon, and despite them having bacon, there was just no flavor, not even salt. I am extremely disappointed and will not be back and DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. Service was okay, but still would not be back. read more

Out on a Saturday night with my best friend and we run across this restaurant. Anyplace that offers a prime rib in Texas I almost feel responsible to try. So I ordered the 14 0z ribeye with asparagus for the side and I thought the cognac and onion sauce sounded good so I added that to my steak. The only way I could describe my ribeye was it was "pretty good" but not great. It tasted like a steak I would have seasoned and cooked myself, and I'm not very good at cooking or seasoning a steak. I was very disappointed with the cognac sauce, it looked like a light brown gravy and was very bland. I would not get this side sauce again. Fun side note-if you order asparagus as a side, you only get four small pieces of asparagus. I did not know there was some kind of asparagus shortage going on at this time. read more

I generally don't do negative reviews, but I just did one for the Italian Cafe and had to let people know about this place. (I would maybe come back & try the chicken-fried steak or something, because we did have 2 pretty good apps here.) Apps: Shrimp stuffed jalapeños & brisket egg rolls (with the sauce!). I went with my parents and collectively we are pretty needy and she handled it perfect and we got everything we needed/wanted! Came here as an alternative to a chain with a long wait time, wanting to support a local spot instead. Lots of saddles and pictures of horses - really leaning into the western theme. Food took quite a while to come out, especially for the little that was ordered, but the fact that the server brought out the kid's meal right when it was ready was a solid and appreciated gesture. The filet had a noticeable but not overpowering smokiness to it, and was cooked nicely. The ribeye, however, was thin, gristly, and undercooked for a medium. Both potato dishes were either way too heavy or way too light on seasoning. Too many other places nearby doing the same operation with better execution, so a return is not likely. read more

They changed the menu and it was not a good change. They used to have the best fried pork chop but don't have it anymore. Rice was undercooked in beef tips, steak half fat and grissel. OMG!!!! The food ... all the food... seriously is amazing!!! Southern comfort with a wide selection. Most all the steaks are Wagu. The salads are freaking huge and filled with lots a variety. The appetizers are just GOOD. The ingredients are so obviously fresh. They have a very well laid out menu with many selections. The service is so friendly. This Tomball eatery is conveniently located on what else? The Tomball Parkway and has its own parking lot. Inside is the hostess stand next to the full bar. From there you can be led into a main dining room or 2-3 other smaller rooms that look like they can be used for private parties. I've had the almond crusted catfish with a side dish and a salad for $16. The almond crusted fish fillet was large in size and covered with a lemon butter sauce that resembled a white cream gravy and sat on a bed of wild rice. It was both tasty and filling. The grilled veggies that I picked for my side dish were good too. Finally for some of their entrees you receive a side salad and other entrees it's $3 extra. I enjoyed my salad with the tomatoes, cheese and croutons provided. It would have been worth the $3 if it didn't come with my particular meal. This was a good meal overall that I rated at a 3.5. I have also tried their smothered chicken that comes with two sides for $13. I chose the grilled vegetables again and this time went with a loaded baked potato for an extra dollar. This meal did not come with a salad. The entree consisted of a piece of marinated fajita chicken covered in melted pepper Jack cheese with sautéed mushrooms, onions and chives again on a bed of wild rice. This was good tasting to and filling along with the veggies. For some reason the medium size baked tater was delicious and an unexpected surprise. I loved it and think it had to do with the sour cream and cheese they use here. It also had bacon and chives. This meal was also a 3.5. Table service for both meals was good. They have an everyday lunch menu and do offer bread rolls and butter served to the table but you have to ask for it. This is clearly explained on the menu. The rolls have a slight cinnamon tasting coat on them and are very good. Be sure to ask for your bread! I would be glad to return. read more

We've been here a couple times when in the area visiting. The service has always been amazing with friendly and attentive service. The atmosphere is great. The food has mostly been amazing. I always get the Cajun pasta and it is so delicious that I haven't wanted to try anything else because I know it's so good!!!! Their fried pickles are very good. My husband really enjoyed the shrimp brochette. One in our party ordered the large chicken fried chicken and it was huge! I do NOT recommend the chopped steak. It is dry and tough. Found this restaurant while visiting Tomball over the weekend. Smaller restaurant with a more rustic feel. Overall food was very good starting with the bread basket and a nice house salad. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and had good flavor. Baked potato was ok but unfortunately the toppings made it way too cold but understandably that's harder to control. Cleanliness was good but definitely could consider some type of table cover as tables were excessively sticky. I don't understand how this place had bad reviews. The service was kind and attentive. It was my grandmas birthday and they made her feel special. I told her I didn't want to come because it had 3 stars but she's been living here for 25+ years and told me to trust her. The vibe is downright Texas, country music and wood everywhere, deer on the walls, warm and cozy! And the food! I've never eaten so much and felt so good about it. I had the baby back rubs and a half portion was plenty for me, with a side of steamed veggies and some of my grandmas sweet potatoes I was full. Except... I forgot about the rolls, they came out because we forgot to ask for them earlier, I was unsure but I couldn't resist and has 3 of them, they melted in my mouth and made my fall off the bone ribs go down like butter. I'm not sure how this place has 3.5 stars. The place is a hot mess. The parking lot is poorly lit and has a horrible setup. The "entrance" is only known to be that since there are no other obvious doors. The entry kinda dumps you into the bar area, making it feel as though you snuck in the back way. VERY odd. My dinner salad had large chunks of red onion and clumped "shredded" cheddar cheese. My "Beef Tips" was pot roast chunks served on top of surprisingly decent noodles and drowned in a rather suspect brown gravy. Co-diners had similar experience with their meals. We loved this place! I called in a month ahead just in case to our accommodations of a party of 30. We ended yo having a party of 20. The accommodations to our big party was amazing, they were friendly, professional and the food was just delicious! Want to throw ur out there we only had 2 waitresses helping us out(Victoria and Loren) and they did not mess up any orders at all. The food was coming out hot and just as they were ordered. Diablos burger and loaded mashed potatoes were so delicious! In the background is my margarita in the rocks and ir was perfect for the celebration. Did I mention they have awesome bread?! We had children from infants to toddlers and young preteens and they all loved it! Let me add that I've never been to a place that had a sirloin kids meal! My kid loves steak and this was a perfect way to enjoy my meal while she enjoyed hers! I honestly think that this has become my new favorite spot.
