We were in Toledo (Point Place) and had a taste for some ice cream after a hot day. Luckily we passed Fritzie Freeze on our route. There's parking on the side and in the back and then the walk-up window. They were kind enough to have tables set up to encourage social distancing at the window and also some hand sanitizer to use before you got your ice cream. I ordered a strawberry/pineapple swirl dole whip in a waffle cone and it was delicious. Very creamy. We also got a small peanut butter milkshake which was great. Great place, that hits the spot on a hot, summer day.

If you were to only look at the front of Fritzie Freeze you'd wonder if it were a glorified kids lemonade stand, but what comes from inside is way more! This small town, local establishment puts those chain stores to shame. We stopped on our way out of town from visiting relatives in Point Place and I had one of the best peanut butter milkshakes I've ever had! My partner got strawberry and pineapple Dole whip in a waffle cone, and she certainly wasn't disappointed. The menu is extensive for a smaller place, and the prices are fantastic. You get large servings for a low cost. There weren't any picnic tables to eat at, but this may be because of COVID. Be sure to swing along the side of the building and check out the cool mural that is painted!

The sundaes are delicious! We got the turtle and strawberry shortcake sundaes. The strawberry shortcake was deliciously fruity. And the turtle sundae was the perfect mix of chocolaty, nutty goodness. We'll definitely visit again.

It's ok. Some where different to get ice cream, but I do think they are way to expensive for the quality of ice cream your getting.

My dog's groomer is right across the street or else I would have missed out. I walked in and ordered at the register. The menu is written on a chalkboard. I was hoping for a spinach omelette but they were out of spinach (same as last time I was there). Instead I opted for a veggie omelette with cheese. I also ordered a coffee. The way their system works is that you place your order and pay; then you're seated and your beverage/food is brought to your table. I sat in a booth and my coffee was very promptly brought out to me. The ambiance is absolutely adorable with red and white tablecloths and balloons. There is also an ice cream counter. It was a very pleasant setting in which to enjoy my coffee. Within a reasonable amount of time, my omelette was served with a side of toast. The omelette was huge and filled with lots of tasty tomatoes, onions and green peppers, all finely chopped and perfectly seasoned. Hash browns were also tucked inside the omelette. Although the cheese had been forgotten, I didn't miss it too much because the omelette itself was so delicious. The toast was served with delicious homemade strawberry jam. I could only eat half of the omelette and was given a box to take it home. My server was a very sweet young girl who kept checking to see if I needed anymore coffee and if everything tasted good. At a nearby table, a woman spilled her glass of water and people from the kitchen immediately came out to clean it up. They were extremely good spirited and reassured the embarrassed woman that it happened all the time and was no problem. The atmosphere felt very warm and welcoming. I would absolutely recommend Grace's Kitchen in Point Place as a charming spot for breakfast or lunch. It's on Summit Street across from Aunt Linda's Pet Grooming and H&R Block. Check out the picture of my omelette and the inside of Graces Kitchen. (For some reason they appear below my prior review.) While other reviews note that this is a cash-only establishment, I used a credit card both times I was there, though I left a cash tip on the table this time.

4 to 5 stars for the "Ostrich!"…read more Bottom line: This is a fun place with really good food. FOOD: We had 6 different taco plates and small plates. Only the pork belly tacos were sub par (the pork belly was over done - dry and tough). The seasoning on EVERYTHING (including, I might add, the pork belly tacos) was really great. The tamale bites and dipping sauce were my personal favorite. Not sure I wanna know the nutritional information for that one, but the dish was outstanding. My wife got both the raw oysters and baked oysters...whatever...she loved both. SERVICE: Stephanie did a great job of getting our order right, and keeping the food coming. She made excellent suggestions; important because we didn't know the menu. ATMOSPHERE: Fun and loud. It's a little too loud to have an intimate conversation, and it doesn't have the same amount of personality as a similar place, Deseo (in Cricket West), but it's fun, clean, and new. DRINKS: If you're drinkin', Avestruz is serving some pretty good cocktails. I'd give this category to Deseo, as well however. Overall, Avestrutz is a great addition to this part of town. For upscale Mexican, I'd give the nod to Deseo, BUT, we will come back here...plenty. 5 stars, for now.

With the sheer number of dining options in Toledo, we almost never hit the same spot twice in one…read moremonth--so the fact that we showed up at Avestruz twice in one week? That's saying something. Now, let's talk about "Ostrich Towne"--yes, that's what it's called. The branding is... let's go with "mysterious," and from the outside, it's hard to tell there's something amazing happening in there. But oh, there is. If you wait too long to try Avestruz, you're going to kick yourself when it blows up and the lines wrap around the parking lot. We found out about it through friends who were basically raving about how often they've been going--like, suspiciously often. And on our first visit, a packed Friday night with a line out the door, I got it. I was already late to the party. But then we went back that Wednesday, snagged a seat fast, got our food even faster, and realized: we've still got time to squeeze in a few more visits before patio season hits and Ostrich Towne goes full unhinged. Inside, Avestruz is spotless, modern, and way more stylish than you'd expect from a place parked in a development named after a large flightless bird. The menu? Wildly creative but laser-focused in flavor. The Caesar salad (yes, really) might be the best in Toledo. The tacos? Incredible. Oysters? A dream. Queso and chorizo dip? Say goodbye to self-control. It's all dialed in. The staff is genuinely hyped to be there, and the family behind the kitchen clearly knows what they're doing. Plus, the whole thing is part of this surprising revival in a part of Toledo that had basically been in hibernation for decades. Bottom line: get yourself to Avestruz Tapas & Tequila before you start hearing everyone else talk about how they went before it got cool. You've been warned.
