I was here once before and had a disappointing experience with a grilled chicken sandwich but decided to give this quaint place another try for breakfast fare- and so glad I did! My dog's groomer is right across the street or else I would have missed out. I walked in and ordered at the register. The menu is written on a chalkboard. I was hoping for a spinach omelette but they were out of spinach (same as last time I was there). Instead I opted for a veggie omelette with cheese. I also ordered a coffee.The way their system works is that you place your order and pay; then you're seated and your beverage/food is brought to your table. I sat in a booth and my coffee was very promptly brought out to me. The ambiance is absolutely adorable with red and white tablecloths and balloons. There is also an ice cream counter. It was a very pleasant setting in which to enjoy my coffee. Within a reasonable amount of time, my omelette was served with a side of toast. The omelette was huge and filled with lots of tasty tomatoes, onions and green peppers, all finely chopped and perfectly seasoned. Hash browns were also tucked inside the omelette. Although the cheese had been forgotten, I didn't miss it too much because the omelette itself was so delicious. The toast was served with delicious homemade strawberry jam. I could only eat half of the omelette and was given a box to take it home. My server was a very sweet young girl who kept checking to see if I needed anymore coffee and if everything tasted good. At a nearby table, a woman spilled her glass of water and people from the kitchen immediately came out to clean it up. They were extremely good spirited and reassured the embarrassed woman that it happened all the time and was no problem. The atmosphere felt very warm and welcoming. I would absolutely recommend Grace's Kitchen in Point Place as a charming spot for breakfast or lunch. It's on Summit Street across from Aunt Linda's Pet Grooming and H&R Block. If you're looking for a nice spot for breakfast or lunch ON THE WEEKENDS (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 7:30 am to 2 pm), look no further than Grace's Kitchen in Point Place. Location: Although GK is readily accessible, for most people in Toledo, the location isn't great...only Rudy's and La Chalupa, both in Shoreland, are located further to the Northeast. I've never eaten lunch here, but I can tell you that GRace serves some excellent omelets, French toast, and pancakes. The frozen drinks and the coffee drinks are interesting and fun, if not a little campy. A significant amount of the menu is made from scratch, including, for example, the strawberry preserves for your toast. Portion sizes are just right. Omelets come with two slices of toast, and for me, that's perfect. The place is small, but the atmosphere is cozy, clean, and the service is fast and friendly. The service model is a atypical for a breakfast spot. You place your order and pay (CASH ONLY) at the counter, take your seat, and then your food is brought out to you. The building itself is very cool. It was constructed in 1960 and it's a nice example of toned-down midcentury modern architecture. It's basically a volume of rotation created by rotating a right trapezium through 90 degrees, with the axis of rotation being it's shortest side. So...if it sounds as though I'm trying to seem smart, I'm not. I'll freely admit that I'm a dumbass...If I were actually intelligent, I'd eat at Grace's more often. This is a cash only establishment. In these days of "touch less payment" very unique. The order counter is old school. Menu on a chalk board. Orders taken on a "guest check" pad. Totaled on a calculator and the dupe is passed to the cooks. All in all the food was very good, portions are moderate and service was quick. This is a very cute café where you order from a chalkboard menu and the food is brought to your table. I had oatmeal with fruit and granola and a s'mores latte. The latte was generously sized and presented beautifully. It was chocolatey and sweet and made for quite a treat with breakfast. The oatmeal was old fashioned oats served with strawberries and blueberries, milk and a crispy topping. It was very good oatmeal prepared cleanly and simply. My dining partner had an omelet that he was pleased with. There was plenty of meat and he said the coffee was very good as well. read more

I typically come here a couple times per year when visiting family who live nearby. My mom likes super crispy bacon and is always pleased, and she likes their French toast options. Their omelettes are good and they have fun coffee creations. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. We even popped in over the Christmas holidays for to-go coffees right at their closing time, but they still had coffee and they were cheerful and gave us some extras! read more

MY oh MY!! this is super cool little breakfast place near the lake. Get there early seating is limited! This is family owned and they are very engaged with the community, customers, and the menu. They are famous for the super-sized coffees with the perfect swirl! Chocolate waffles and pancakes wow!!! the portions are really big, so don't be afraid to share! I love the omelets but have yet to finish one as they are huge for only about 10 bucks! Super staff, my daughter eats here every Sunday and they treat her like family. read more

I am not a breakfast person and usually opt for "lunch like" choices during the breakfast/brunch hour but this time I was enticed by the menu and unique descriptions of breakfast foods. I choose the banana pancakes which were the best pancakes I've ever had and makes me want to go back to try the other flavors like chocolate chip or cinnamon bun. The streusel topping made the pancakes sweet and more like a dessert than typical boring breakfast. The single helping of sausage and biscuit was huge and equally delicious. Cute cafe/diner with great breakfast options...and it's in our neighborhood! Food and service has always been great. Atmosphere is friendly and clean (although my husband complains that the sun in the windows is too much and window coverings are needed.) Not sure what effect the pandemic has had on Grace's Kitchen...hours have been limited, transactions are cash only, and I think the restaurant is now "closed for the season". Delicious! Stopped by for breakfast while visiting the Toledo/Erie area. The food was terrific! Staff staff members were wearing masks and there were outdoor tables for those who want to maintain some distance. The food took a little while but it was because it was all being made fresh. I'm so disappointed in this restaurant, it has gone way downhill. I tried it again last week to 'give it another chance', yet the same. If I want to wait on myself, I'll stay home and tip myself. Order food. Pickup. Refill your own coffee. Eat on paper plates. Clean your own table. You do it all, and they expect you to tip them?! When I first moved to Toledo in 2014, this was the best breakfast place hands down here. It had absolutely amazing service, delectable pancakes, scrumptious French toast, and wonderful egg combinations. It most assuredly had some of the most original ideas for breakfast. Now, you order at a window, essentially serve yourself, have disposable plates and silverware, and many of those original options are gone. But, the price is still high sadly. I'm not sure what happened but I've tried several times in the past year and it just isn't good anymore. I hope they return to their roots on what made this place amazing. Having once owned a food serving business I know how quickly things can change. If it's staffing that's a problem, then maybe reduce tables and return to your homey feel rather than one of take out. read more

Grace's Kitchen in point Place is a nice neighborhood restaurant. The food and the service is great and inexpensive. They do have some more expensive items on their menu if you'd like to eat a mountain. Their specialty pancakes and omelettes are especially nice. My entire family has gone here on a regular basis and been loyal customers. My son is autistic and has a very specific diet and as we always have, when we go there in large groups spending good money and leaving good tips, we always take food for my son since he has specific needs. This has been the case many times over and has never been a problem. Today management felt the need to humiliate my mother in front of many customers by forcing her to leave because she brought food for my son as we always have. So apparently there is zero understanding for special needs children in this establishment. I will NEVER return and I will be sure that nobody, especially the 100+ family members and thousands of followers I have on social media want to go there anymore either. This is my favorite breakfast place...period. Their omelettes are delicious. I typically get the Western, they sauté the onions and peppers perfectly. However, the really star of the show is their French toast. You can order with incredible toppings. The raspberry granola is amazing. My only dodge on this place is the coffee. Wonderful service! I'm allergic to some sweeteners and wanted a "special" coffee. Our waitress went and started reading the ingredients to see if i could have some, very thoughtful and generous of her to take the time to do that for me. Another reason why this cafe has outstanding service, we were there before the official start of lunch time and my husband asked if he could have something from that menu. Without hesitation we were told yes, we just couldn't have French fries or homemade chips that early, because the fryer hadn't been turned on. Again very gracious. We had a delicious corn beef omelet, yum and my hubby had a half of a Ruben sandwich and soup. Sandwich was good. Soup was ok. Had croutons in it that had a bad oil flavor.
