Overpriced and dingy. This was in walking distance of the house we were staying at during a weekend getaway on the island. Craft beer selection in the fridge was minimal and overpriced. Craft beer selection in the aisles was plentiful and looked like they had a hard time selling it, which meant it had been sitting there a while. We came from the NYC area, so I'm used to paying high prices for craft beer. This was even more expensive than home. To add insult to injury, the case of cold beer I purchased was outdated upon getting it home and opening the box. There is no excuse for this. WORST LIQUOR STORE ON LBI- Horrible customer service. Owner is very rude and has no concept of the customer comes first. A moment ago I called there to ask if they had a certain wine in stock and what was the price. The arrogant owner replied with I'm busy now you'll have to come into the store. I asked her if there was anyone else that can help me and she said they were were busy. I have been a customer of this liquor store for many many years. What a horrible experience! I entered the store to see the owner standing there. He did not acknowledge my presence through the entire transaction. At the end, he did say a snarky thank you, I replied I'm surprised you acknowledged my presence. Bad enough that the prices are crazy. I will never give them another dollar travel down to langs. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS Terrible family owned business. Independence Day, 4th of July, I'm on vacation with my family, this Clerk has the nerve to deny me of liquor and I'm a clearly of age. Doesn't even ask questions about ID, nothing no social skills. Called the cops, waited 15 minutes, received no discount for inconvenience, and was on my way with the booze. Not sure anyone complaining about price understood their economics class. If the next closest place is 30 min away, what value does the next hour of your life have. They refused to accept my ID, and told me they had called the police. I waited for 15 minutes before finding out that they were apparently bluffing, and returned my ID before asking me to leave. Owners tried charging us for 2 bottles of liquor when we were just trying to buy one, regardless that we do look under 21 everyone in the store with my group was over the age of 22, they threatened us with the FAKE ID wall of shame they have and tried taking our real ID's which is a huge problem...regardless they tried charging us for 2 bottles and when I pointed it out they tried saying that we're committing fraud, the 2 owners which we believe to be husband and wife then started talking in their own language....with multiple other adults in the store shopping they jumped in and were on OUR side...owners of the establishment need to tone it down a few notches....there was another review saying this place makes NYC stores look like a bargain...WAY to over priced, rude, obnoxious, and I have a feeling they have a target with a certain crowd (people around my age)....anyone that's near the age 21-25 I highly suggest going to the liquor store a few blocks down to avoid you're REAL ID BEING PUT ON A FAKE ID WALL....haven't had that happen to me since I was way under age lmfao....regardless I did in fact get my ID back because obviously I need it and was willing to bring the authorities involved.....we only got charged for a single bottle and not double charged which is what the owners were trying to do....stay away from this nasty establishment :) read more

Stay away! My wife and I were looking for a bottle of wine to bring to dinner and stopped here on the way. The building looks nice and clean, but that's the only good thing about it. The prices were unlike any liquor store I've been to in any state! A six pack of Flying Dog I had bought the night before on the island for $11 (already a bit pricey) was $15 here. Even the common name brands were insanely priced, at $8.50 for a pack of bud platinum (usually ~$6.50). To add insult to injury the owners were unfriendly and unhelpful. We were looking for a couple specific wines and were bluntly told they probably didn't have them, without any attempt to check or help find a similar wine. We ended up paying $17 for a wine that cost $10. If it hadn't been my wife's birthday with dinner reservations to keep, we would have walked right out. read more

I'm unfortunately old enough to remember the original Fritzie and his liquor / all purpose store attached to the old Acme. How I longed to go back in time when I entered this Fritzies. Incredibly overpriced indeed. Yes, it's Long Beach Island, but $14 for a six pack of Sam Adams is too much to ask, especially from owners who are being kind if they at least grunt at you. I was in on the Holiday weekend, and it was incredibly claustrophobic. It seems as though they use boxes of liquor as aisles and shelves, so it feels like a beer box maze. I'm pretty sure that Murphy's, the grocery store in Beach Haven, is cheaper - and that really says it all. read more

My friends and I went here to purchase alcohol and are are all in our mid twenties- non of us had been drinking and they refused to believe that we were of age even though we all had proper I'd and multiple forms of I.d and were all of age. It was ridiculous and a waste of time. They said their reason was that someone underaged tried to purchase what we were buying earlier in the day. Stupid I won't go back. It's expensive. I mean--it is on the island, and everything is more expensive, but this was really expensive. It is a very clean place, and staff was helpful, but 47 dollars for 3 cheap bottles of wine is steep. I live near a few vineyards in Napa that would charge less than that on site for their booze which was much, much better stuff. read more

Sure it's a little overpriced but what isn't on LBI? It's right on Long Beach Blvd and right across the street from Howard's Restaurant. It's a pretty convenient spot. I've stopped in here a couple of times. You're looking at a couple of bucks more here vs the mainland. I also like this place a lot because it's pretty big, clean and has a pretty large selection. There's also a private parking lot so you don't have to worry about grabbing a street spot. read more
