Fritz's is always a good! I've been a customer for many many years and I don't get the same thing every time. This time I got the pineapple upside down cake concrete, and it was very very good. This was my first time at Fritzes and I was extremely impressed. The custard is top notch, they have a nice sized menu and, the service is second to none. They also have great oldies music playing that takes you back in time to the days of the milk man & malt shops. Head on in to Fritzes to day! It'll be swell! read more

Now don't get me wrong, because I love me some Fritz's, but because of one thing or another, we just made our first trip of the season and we were disappointed to see that they have reduced the size of both the large and small concrete containers. With prices that they charge, I am not sure how often we will be coming back. Sorry Fritz's! read more

Neighborhood custard stand that's been there a while. The custard comes in the form of concretes, sundaes, and shakes. It has good flavor and lots of options to mix in or top. My only complaint is when you are handed your tasty treat, it is already melted. This is not just a one time occurrence, but every time. Not sure what the answer is to keep it a little colder, but it would be nice if they figured it out. Anyway, staff is friendly and fast. Lots of outdoor seating available. Inside the stand looks to be kept clean. read more

I love me some frozen custard and while Ted Drewes is the big name in the St Louis area, Fritz's is my all time favorite. The do have several locations and none of them feature a place to sit inside but that doesn't stop the long lines of frozen custard lovers. This is a review of a bulk order from this Fritzs location. We ordered 200 "wedding" 6oz cups for our wedding on 5/26. I can't say enough about how helpful Adam & his brother were while planning this! We had 5 different flavors with mix ins (even more affordable than any fancy cake). They delivered it with spoons and napkins and it was such a hit! I truly appreciate the service and the exceptional dessert for our wedding! read more

I greatly enjoyed our two concretes at Fritz's- absolutely delicious and refreshing. The employees' outfits and oldies music added a very nice touch to the experience. The only suggestion I have is to spruce up the table areas- some of the tables had broken umbrella poles, there were weeds growing, etc. With a few minor improvements this place will be the toast of the town! read more

Flies and bugs everywhere. Not sanitary. Concrete is a melted waste of an option. Ice cream is not cold enough. The service is good. The menu is not quite as large. The area to drive into from the Main Street is quite a dip. Not recommended for nice cars or cars that are lowered. read more

Maybe Frit'z Frozen Custard is getting an unfair shake. Generally speaking, I would probably have been ok with this stop for my ice cream/frozen yogurt needs, but in recent weeks i've been spoiled with stops at several different spots around town that, honestly, all outshine this place. I'll start with the location, which is one of it's perks for me, since it's only a few minutes from my house. Easy to get to, decent amount of parking, it's convenient. Service was confusing. There is nothing wrong with taking my order and asking me to step aside to take the next person's order. There is also nothing wrong with taking an order and waiting for the order to be finished to take the next order, unless of course you are doing both. I had no problem stepping aside for the young lady to get the next customer, but for some reason, once that order was done, she felt a need to personally see to that customers treats, leaving mine and my wife's to be handled by the other workers. Mine was finished first, then the next guys stuff started coming out, and eventually my wife got her order. Not exactly what I would call good service. There was a pretty good selection of items to choose from, but since people were telling me "if you like Ted Drews you should try Frit'z," I decided to go head to head with my favorite Ted Drews flavors. TD has a great caramel apple sundae, that I love. Frit'z has a candy apple sundae which is pretty much the same thing, at least in description. Frit'z sundae was built all wrong, layering apple slices (neither hot enough nor plentiful) on the bottom, then a layer of caramel which was already chewy and hardening, then the yogurt topped with a cherry. Folks, not everything has to come with a cherry. From the treats I observed, Frit'z might be confused about this rule. Everything seemed to come with a cherry! Compared to the TD version, Frit'z treat was tough to eat, as the flavors were layered and separate. I'm used to the apples being warm, the caramel layered over the yogurt, melting it and cooling the caramel at the same time, creating a blended flavor. The Frit'z version basicaly clumped caramel to my spoon which had to be teethed off as I ate. The apples were difficult to find, and not very good. It's safe to say I'm not a fan of this place. Ted Drews is a bit of a drive, but there are still closer places that can sustain those cravings. Frit'z may be a St. Charles favorite, and it is fine for those that live here that are afraid of crossing the Missouri River for anything more than a paycheck, but I like to get out and experience the best. Frit'z just isn't that. read more

This is the place to go to for frozen custard in the St. Charles area. I have been to the famous Ted Drewes, but prefer Fritz's. The chocolate overload is to die for! Chocolate custard, chocolate chunks and covered in a chocolate shell with hot fudge and whipped cream plus a cherry. You can't get more chocolate than that! During early Spring I enjoy the Peach Melba! The shakes are delicious and even a plain cup of custard is a treat! A must try for everyone!! read more

Having grown up in St. Peters, Fritzs' was the place for us to go and get some frozen custard. And now that I live in IL, good frozen custard is nonexistent. Yes, Ted Drewes' is by far the best but it's a drive to get there. For a place nearby, Fritzs' works well. When I go to Ted Drewes', I usually get a concrete. But when I go to Fritzs'....it's all about the sundaes. My personal favs: Strawberry Shortcake, Strawberry Blonde, Blueberry Hill. What also makes Fritzs' different is that in addition to the Vanilla custard, Lite Vanilla custard, and the Chocolate custard, they also have a Flavor of the Day custard which are hand dipped flavors meaning it's not custard where the flavor was added to the already frozen vanilla custard. And you can actually buy the custard in pints. Everytime I make a visit back home (during summer), I have to stop by Fritzs' for a sundae....it's a must for me. read more

A mother of a child with a food allergy did what she does at every ice cream shop she has ever visited... *She asked for just toppings *She was told no and then asked for the banana split with toppings on the side *She offered to pay full price...even for just toppings At every turn she was told "no." When asking for a number to call to file a formal complaint she was denied any contact information. The end result? *The girl was left to watch her friends enjoy their dessert while she was given no option to join them absent buying and consuming a dessert that would make her very ill. *Emily the shift manager made a choice to "stand tall" in the face of a mother who was willing to do anything, including pay full price, for some toppings. *Fritz's Frozen Custard has now lost countless customers because of a refusal to show flexibility to a girl who was only looking for a way to enjoy a treat with her friends. Fritz's in unique...they hold the dubious distinction of being the only establishment in nearly 13 years to say "no" to this girl and her family who are accustomed to paying full price for a partial product. Life is hard enough for kids who have conditions that preclude them from living the same lives as their friends. Of all places, I would think someplace specializing in frozen treats would understand that. Thankfully, there are countless other places we can go for our frozen custard. And we will. read more

Fritz's has been a fav of mine since they opened way back in the early 80's. (OMG am I that old??)LOL They have the best frozen custard, yes even better than Ted Drews. I particularly like some of the special flavors, Pumpkin, Strawberry, Chocolate Malt, and a few others. I usually get a small malt and it is always wonderful. Highly recommend it. They will be closing in a few weeks for the season, so hurry and get your treat today! read more

The custard is average and so are the toppings, my custard was very soft even for a hot day. There are better custard joints around (Ted Drews being the best, but Bobby's in Maryland, IL is right up there too). Don't go out of your way to find this one, but it is good if you are in the area. read more

Frozen custard trumps frozen yogurt and plain old ice cream in my book any day. Fritz's is the perfect mix of great selection, without having a menu so large you start flashing back to the encyclopedia Britanica, high quality products, a clean establishment and friendly employees. It also does not hurt that Fritz's is practically right in my back yard and I raised my kids on summer walks for frozen custard to Fritz's. Thanks for the memories. read more

I drove here to get my husband a hot fudge sundae. He was home watching the kids, so I asked for the hot fudge on the side so the ice cream wouldn't melt by the time it made it home. They said they couldn't do that. When I questioned more a manager came over and said they aren't allowed to put toppings on anything but ice cream. Maybe it's to save the two cents for another cup, but now they just lost future sales. And I ended up just buying two scoops and putting my own fudge on it when I got home, so they lost the sundae sale too. Culver's has no problem putting toppings on the side. I also read on their Twitter page they have another rule where they won't put sprinkles on a kids cone...even if you want to pay for them. read more

In my opinion, Ted Drewe's has nothing on Fritz's. It's the perfect combination of ice and cream. I love the cookie dough concrete and I've gotten the lime slushie before. The slushies are underrated! They are great. Like a melted snow one but with lots of flavor. It is our favorite ice cream place. Fast service despite the long lines. read more

The pico de gallo was so flavorful & the perfect compliment to the dish. Also got two chicken tacos with the traditional cilantro onion lime and salsa verde. That salsa was so so good but definitely has heat to it so I'm glad I started with a small amount. I love that they are also a shop so you can buy Mexican staples and dried chili peppers and things like that. Looking forward to trying some other things they offer! The staff was really nice too.
