    Kiddie size sundae.

Stopped by here with the kids for some custard! They had some great topping options. I got the warm cherry pie filling and ohhhh yess! I didn't try but I saw they offered a no sugar added sundae. Thought that was really neat! The sizes are great. Staff is friendly and I love the amount of seating they have out front. Seems like the happening place even on a Thursday night.

My daughter and I went here for a treat during the week. Parking lot is small, but many people coming and going, so there were spots and they also have a drive through which is very convenient. This is a walk up ice cream type shop. When we arrived the line was pretty long and I expected quite the wait - not so! The line went very quickly even with only 1 order person (the rest of the staff was making the treats). The menu is very expansive and it was VERY hard for me to decide what to get. I ended up choosing a small cherry slushie and it was a good choice. For those alive in the 80s - this is just like the slushies that used to be in gas stations when I was a kid (with the lil basset hound dog logo!). It was very cold, very slushie and didn't melt too quickly. They have outdoor tables and benches to sit at and socialize. I really enjoyed that feature! I had amazing service and a great treat - I highly recommend it if you are in the area :)

When the night is full of summer heat, Fritz's offers a cool custard treat.

There's that custard place in St. Louis that's constantly advertising their concretes but for St. Charles County residents it's simply unnecessary to drive that far for excellent custard. There's Fritz's for St. Chuck. This location with a drive-thru window and walk-up service is always busy on summer evenings. The draw is their large selection of dairy treats, quality products, and quick service. Custard items only--no food options.

So many memories at this Fritz's location in O'Fallon! We used to make my very old grandfather drive us through the drive-thru and we'd get him to say things that sounded dirty just for a good laugh... i.e., "Grandpa, tell him I want a turtle with no nuts!" ...then we'd giggle for twenty minutes in the back seat. My sister worked there when she was in high school, too, in one of those bright white outfits with the bowtie. I have pictures. Blackmail material fooooor sure. So many things are just pure delicious! Sometimes I go with my predictable strawberry concrete, but they have a huge menu to choose from. It's fun to order at the windows and sit in one of the many chairs they have lined up while you get bit by mosquitoes. It just screams summer! Make sure to also try the strawberry shortcake, the aforementioned turtle (caramel, hot fudge, and pecans) or the strawberry blondie... strawberries and marshmallows. I love this place! Going to reward a week of working out with something huge, chocolatey, and full of cals very, very soon.

I love Fritz's (sung to the tune of I want candy) talk about a frozen delight, yum. If you like ice cream then you'll love frozen custard. I know, I know everything in the STL is about their competition we'll refer to as the other guys. I found out that both of them get their frozen custard from the exact same place so the only difference is in the added ingredients. Here is where Fritz's comes out on top as far as I'm concerned. Using real fresh fruit the product they put out has no equal. Take the peach melba, fresh peaches and raspberries topping vanilla custard I almost feel like I'm eating healthy. Like chocolate? Well then my friends you have found the mother lode. The chocolate overload is so filled with chocolate goodness that every time I eat it I swear I'm going to go into a diabetic coma. Chocolate custard topped with chocolate chunks, hard shell chocolate, then chocolate syrup. Hence the name chocolate overload. I'll break protocol here and go straight to , I double dog dare you to try Fritz's and still be able to say it's not the best.

The consistency is way too milky/melted by the time you get it. Only lasts for a few minutes before it's completely soupy. Disappointed.

Why people go here is a puzzle to me. Insanely high prices, and you can overwhelmingly taste the artificial ingredients and fake sweeteners.

A regular frozen custard place. Nothing spectacular about it but I am happy they provide mini-sizes. We all know we don't need that jumbo!

I decided to venture away from my usual turtle and try something different this time. I ordered a Jackhammer, which is kind of like a Blizzard or concrete. I went with the Rico Suave, which is vanilla frozen custard with Oreos and toasted pecans, with hot fudge in the center. It was good, but honestly, I think I should have stuck with my usual order! My biggest issue was that the hot fudge in the center wasn't really mixed throughout, so I didn't feel like I was getting as much of it as I would have liked. I also felt like there weren't quite as many toppings as I usually get with a sundae. One bonus was that I got a reusable plastic cup, which I thought was a fun little perk. The staff was super friendly, as always, and the line moved incredibly fast. Even though this particular treat didn't become my new favorite, I'll definitely be back. Next time, though, I'm probably going straight back to my trusty turtle!

It was definitely not the night we had planned, but we decided we weren't going to let it ruin the entire evening. So naturally, we decided ice cream was the answer! We had previously tried to go to Clementine's off Mason Road, but the line was literally out the door. Since the Lake St. Louis location was closer to home, we decided to head there instead, and I'm so glad we did. There was no line when we arrived, and we were able to get right in. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They let us sample different flavors, and they even noticed our Savannah Bananas shirts and asked if we had just come from the game. When we explained that we had unfortunately missed it, they were so sympathetic and told us that ice cream makes everything better. Honestly, she wasn't wrong! One friend got the gooey butter cake, and I ordered two scoops: salted caramel cookies and cream and milk chocolate. The salted caramel is my absolute favorite, and it did not disappoint. Both flavors were delicious. Our other friend ordered the cherry slush and said it was amazing. I also love that Clementine's has both "naughty" and "nice" flavors, with the naughty options incorporating alcohol. After the kind of night we had, it was definitely tempting to consider a naughty flavor! The best part was honestly just how nice it felt to have such a positive experience after such a crappy night. The staff was friendly, there was no waiting, we got to try flavors, and we ended the evening with a delicious sweet treat and some laughs with friends. Sometimes things don't go according to plan, but a good scoop of ice cream and great customer service can definitely help turn the night around. Clementine's was the perfect way to cap off a very unexpected evening!
