    Fabulous chicken wings

Great service here. I sat at the bar and had a glass of wine, snack plate of wings. 5 juicy meaty chicken wings with a light breading and favorful sauce. Delicious. It's a bit off the main Bastille round about, so it's quieter, mix of local and tourist. They are a beer place, with US style menu - nachos, burgers, wings.

If you're an American tourist visiting Paris for a short period, there is no reason I can think of for coming here unless you are on a life mission to compare all the microbrews of the world or perhaps write a travel guide on European bbq. After two visits I've begun to really like this place: Chill vibe Attentive and friendly staff who all speak English (even though I try to stick to French!) Great beer selection Full bar Pretty sweet food menu Good music playing During my first visit, I had the smokey beef tacos. They were great. Two toasted flour tortillas with melted cheese, their homemade house version of coleslaw, smokey shredded beef and some type of smokey mayo drizzle. This comes with your choice of 2 sides. I had the house coleslaw which weren't very special and the okra beignet which was delightful. The tacos could have been spicier but that is just me. I'll ask for more jalapenos next time. I washed everything down with the Parislytic beer (5.2%) which I really liked. 15.50 for the tacos and 5 for the beer. Win! For my second visit, I tried the pork ribs. These are my favorite. Extremely juicy and meaty ribs and charred on the outside with a pretty amazing bbq sauce. I've only had better ribs in the US. This time I had the Thawak (IPA 5.2%) and it was pretty good. I finished with the peanut butter brittle and chocolate for dessert which was something you'd expect at TGIFridays. This is definitely a great place for an ex-pat who misses some American bbq and bar food. Otherwise, I would recommend it for happy hour or a place to grab drinks.

Dinner for tired tourists at Frog Revolution

Our brains--which barely comprehend French--were fried from a weekend-long wedding full of people who only spoke French. This place was just what we needed to recover from that. The service was friendly and very geared toward English speakers--although we still attempted to speak French, our waiter was more than happy to switch to English with us. The place had a laid-back casual vibe. The beers and food were decent--not exactly American, but a French interpretation of American. We had fried chicken and a burger with BBQ. Both were large portions. The beers were the only thing approaching microbrew that we had while in France, so that was a nice treat, too. We liked the comfy lounge chairs, great people watching just steps from the Bastille Metro, and free WiFi. A good spot for a tired American tourist.

We each got the combo platter that allowed us to try multiple meats and sides, and I have to say that I was extremely impressed with the meat. Especially the brisket, a particular favorite of mine when it comes to BBQ. The mac and cheese was a solid side, but the coleslaw was underwhelming. As Americans, yes, we expect large portions. I've been to Europe often enough to manage those expectations pretty well, so I was also pleased when we each reached a comfortable stopping point and were able to get takeaway boxes for our leftovers. I know it's traditionally trés gauche to take leftovers from French restaurants, but I was happy to see that the trend is catching on. After all, not wasting food is a good thing, is it not? We carried those leftovers all the way to Amsterdam the next day--that's how much we wanted to finish them. We opted to sit in the terrace seating that has a suspended plank for a table so that we could people watch Rue St. Denis, a busy street in this arrondissement. It's in a great neighborhood that was vibrant and full of life, even in the wake of the pandemic. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to try good Texas style BBQ in the middle of Paris.

Prices range from 9-24 Euros ($11-27 US) for the meats, 4-5 Euros ($5-6 US) for the sides, and a lunch menu of 15 Euros ($17) for a meat, side and drink, it's a good deal for the best BBQ I've had in Paris. The first time I went, I had the pork ribs with a side of greens, and a beer. the pork ribs were tender in the center, but dry on the end, needing the delicious tomato based BBQ sauce to moisten the meat. The beef brisket was excellent, with a wonderful peppercorn crust, nice smoke, and juicy meat, good enough to eat without any sauce at all. The greens weren't bad, with plenty of pork goodness, but they needed salt and heat to make them better, unfortunately Parisian taste is not known for having any tolerance for spice, so sneak in some hot sauce if you want to perk up this side, or take it home and doctor it up. The pickles and pickled onions were excellent, with a crisp texture and vinegary bite. The baked beans were the best side I tasted, with a smokey tomato base, just slightly sweet. The decor reminds you that the owner spent some time in Texas, but fortunately there were no chainsaws in sight :)

First off Tom our server was awesome at explaining the history of the restaurant and the variety of the menus and drinks. The brisket is so tender and different from the brisket in California and so was the pulled pork and chicken. The sides of pickles and onions we're so flavorful that they changed the course of the dry meats into something magical. Our server then gave us a free plate of sausages and baby ribbs to sample and I must admit that the ribs we're the best I ever ate! I wish I would have ordered them first. I highly recommend someone from the states to come eat at The Beast to get their BBQ fix

I definitely recommend you make reservations because it fills up fast. It's a small place and the tables are close to each other but I didn't mind the coziness. On to the food: -the scallop - it's just one scallop cooked in the shell in a delicious cream sauce over hay? Anyway, delicious! The sauce was to die for and we sopped with up with our toasty bread. -the carrots - charred carmelized carrot over charred carrot purée with charred carrot chips and sprigs of dill. This had the perfect touch of spice and smokiness and was delicious. -the duck - barbecued with a nice demi glace, charred quince and a cauliflower foam. Very good but they either need sharper knives or cook it a little less. This was a bit tough but still so good and you could tell it was of very good quality. Regardless, I would order it again and again. -Cynar cocktail - mezcal with charred grapefruit. Was a tad bitter and tart but went really well with the meal. This little place also has the the best little speakeasy in Paris with the sweetest mixologist ever. And she has the best taste in music! It's small and dark and the perfect place to have cocktails before and after your meal. Here are the drinks we had: -Paloma de la casa - a refreshing, citrusy mezcal drink. So satisfying. -daiquiri de La Niña - very sweet, not really my cup of tea but my friend enjoyed it. A lot of good looking people with good vibes. Will definitely be back.

We're glad that we ended up eating here. The meal was delicious and reasonably priced, and the service was friendly (tres gentil) and took mercy on our meager French skills by conversing with us mostly in English. The steak was superb, although I'd caution American visitors that medium rare in France (and in Europe more generally) tends to be on the rare side. The fries were equally scrumptious, and it's harder to pull off a good crisp on a relatively thick-cut potato. Finally, my wife's ribs were very good, and were more refined than is typical of American-style barbecue, which looks a little messier and has a smokier flavor. Great place for dinner before seeing a show at the nearby Moulin Rouge!

After a brief and incredibly lucky search this popped up, Flesh, and with an opening for 8pm. Good luck trying to score a steak dinner in Manhattan on a Saturday night with zero reservations. That aside, we were sitting in the oldest bar in Europe and confirmed our reservation not knowing what we were getting into with very little homework done on the place. After a couple of drinks and wandering through Paris we grabbed a light lunch hoping tonight's dinner was just what we were looking for. A short Uber ride through some very narrow streets we arrived on a one way street that seemed to be the up and coming neighborhood for food and drinks. Once inside we were not seated in the best spot but to their credit this place was tiny, as most hole in the wall restaurants are in this city. After a short wait drinks were served and our orders taken. The place seemed to me to be a sort of upscale BBQ joint, with of course good beers and mixed drinks along with wine. The staff were young and energetic and on point with any questions or requests. Keep this is mind, your in Paris so there really isn't such a thing as a cheap meal, but if you find the right place it's worth every dollar. Anyway my girl and I both ordered steaks with taco starters and delicious sides. All told $175 for one app, two entrees and four drinks. Yes this was probably the most expensive upscale BBQ place we've been to, but both left with a belly full of very yummy food. Thank you to the staff and cooks for a last meal in Paris.
