    Cevapi

A great find! Ordered the Cevapi as well as baklava. The Cevapi was delicious, with the meat both juicy and with a nice snap. The stars of the show were the delicious roll (assume homemade) and sauces, namely the red pepper sauce. Baklava was delicious as well, nutty and not overly sweet. Lunch was a great value as well, with the sandwich priced at $11 (incl chips) and baklava for $2. Restaurant quality food for fast casual prices. I visited at the Dupont Circle/ Farragut Square stop, though the schedule varies. Definitely worth a try!

OMG this place is soooooo good! The cevapi is so good! It doesn't taste fatty. the bread pita is soooooo good like soft and fluffy with a slight chew;) the spreads on the cevapi are flavorful and work so well together. I could eat the pita with the spread and no meat and be satisfied. the baklava has a lemon flavor that makes it really good and refreshing. The other dessert was also really good with a thin chocolate layer on top. Mmmm I can't wait to eat other things from here :) great customer service as well ;) follow them on ig to see where the food truck is @ffscratch

I'm so happy to have found Balkan food in Northern Virginia! Ever since I visited Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina last summer I have been craving these dishes. The cevapi with kajmak and ajvar brought me back! Loved the burek as well and it was a hit with my family. Definitely check them out!

    Ćevapi. Delicious!

Now THIS is what I envision when I picture a high-quality food truck: From Scratch, baby! (It's like the anti-Yumpling! Check my other reviews if you need context for that reference.) If you know me and/or follow my reviews, you might know how obsessed I am with sandwiches and now I have the chance to try Balkan sandwiches! I tried the Ćevapi and it was delicious! It reminded me of a Middle Eastern kefta kebab, except with ground pork and beef (instead of lamb/beef) mini-kebabs (the size of breakfast sausage links) placed on this homemade split pita-esque roll with an awesome roasted red pepper/eggplant topping along with a creamy cheese spread. Neither over- or under-seasoned -- juuuust right. Perfectly satisfying. It also comes with a small bag of Route 11 chips, which is a nice touch! I started with the Ćevapi because I know I'm just going to want to work my way straight down this menu. See you next Tuesday (when they come back to my office)!

From Scratch is DC's diversity in the food scene at its best. The first time I went, there was a Serbian gentleman making a bulk purchase- I knew then and there this was a hit. Everything is organic, honestly made, authentic and carefully prepared. I have a hard time choosing which dish to order every week but will usually go for the specials because I enjoy the element of surprise, and it's delicious every time. You can never go wrong with any of the items on the menu, but my personal favorite so far would be the Cevapi (pronounced che-va-pi) and the salmon burger. Bread is freshly baked "from scratch" every morning and has the softest, most wonderful texture. Also, don't overlook the items at the end of the menu- the Burek (phyllo stuffed with cheese- how can you possibly go wrong with that?) and the baklava are wonderful as well. Definitely worth chasing after the truck to see where it is every day so you can work your way through the menu. Hands down five-star quality!

Wonderful! Service is great, food comes out fast and fresh what else could you ask for? Since I'm from the Balkan area I grew up eating ćevapi, pljeskavice(serbian burger) and burek all the time and these guys nailed it! And a baklava at the end hit the spot. If you never had food like this, this is a grest introduction to it. As a Serbian, I'm totally recommending this to my friends and I'm bringing my family if they visit this area. Keep up the good work it was wondeful.

Quality of the hot dog was pretty good. I ordered it without mustard but regretted that decision because I didn't realize it would come plain without any other toppings besides radish. May have to try another item on the food truck menu next time other than the $9 hotdog that comes with chips. Owner is pretty attentive to his customers.

For 25$ u get meal for 4 persons and u gonna enjoy for sure. With yogurt or kefir on side,u have great breakfast.

Their…read morefood trucks don't often make it deep into Howard County, so we watch their weekly schedule on social media. This time, (Apr 2026), the "big" one of their two food trucks was among the dozen vendors invited to Food Truck Friday at the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department. This larger Catalyst truck serves their full menu: dogs, smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, soft drinks, and more snacks, sides, and sweets. Their menu has ten dressed dogs, vegan dogs, and fourteen toppings for build-it-yourself requests. There are combos that save you a few dollars. Ok, usually, they have those soft beverages, but for this event, the VFD is the sole beverage-seller, at good prices, as a bit of a fundraiser. Of course, we get Catalyst's Chicago dog! Tyler always has poppyseed buns he makes from fresh-baked rolls! They make a perfect mix of toppings with genuine short bitey sport peppers, bright tangy relish and a pickle wedge, fresh dense juicy tomato chunks, bright chopped white onions, good old yellow mustard. Every bite is a delight. Find a Catalyst Hot Dog truck. Get one of the best dogs in the area! For those who wont get to Chi-town any time soon, dive into this Chicago dog. It's authentic! And while that's our go-to, we admit we're coming back to try other vendors at Food Truck Fridays at the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department! But most of all, we're looking forward to Catalyst Hot Dog's brick-and-mortar opening in Burtonsville in the fall of 2026! Oh, and a pro tip: If the listed hot-dog event is at a smaller venue, call that venue ahead of time. Sometimes the events cancel or change dates without enough notice for Catalyst to post about it. Please don't ask how i learned this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They offer an all-you-can-eat dinner menu (plus brunch), and every single thing we tried was delicious. We were a party of two and definitely overstuffed ourselves trying as much as we could Honestly, I think 3-4 people would be the perfect group size so you can share everything and sample more dishes comfortably. The food came out quickly, tapas-style, which made the whole experience even better. Great price for the amount and quality of food, excellent service, and such a fun ambiance. The decor was also super cute. I really liked that they had a large disability ramp as well.

When we walked in, we thought it was gonna be packed because there were no reservations on OpenTable however they were able to see us right away. A very nice touch to add a stem of Rose for the women. I would say that I gave it a lower star rating not because the food was bad. It was actually delicious, but probably the experience itself. The restaurant felt chaotic, and even though all the tables were not completely packed of course there were flowers everywhere people gathering with grandmother's mother's children, etc We were seated in a two people table and all the top past dishes started to pile up very quickly. Instead of monitoring, the progress of the finished dishes and removing those dishes due to space constraint, the dishes came from the kitchen, almost on top of one another, and at one point I had to hold a dish in my hand in order to make space to put a dish on top of another flatbread pan/dish, making things super chaotic. Also dishes had to be put on top of the menu because in order to order additional food, you need to leave at least one copy of the menu at the table. Overall, again the flavors and taste were good, though I might have had similar dishes from other places, and my partner commented that some of it is actually very close to the Capital One landing at DCA. I would just say that it was more due to the chaos and just the way that all the dishes piled up on top of us we felt like we were we had to eat super quickly so that we could stack dishes ourselves and create room at the table. Also, when serving the dishes were not kept level and basically was slide to the side of the dish, making presentation off
