    Somun Grilled CHICKEN Sandwich (Halal)
    John L.

Pro: delivery app Con: none Wanted to try something new and after watching a YouTuber try Balkan food, I thought lets me see if any good restaurants are in the area which eventually lead me to find Mezehub. I ordered the Balkan burger & the soman grilled chicken sandwich. The Balkan burger was just ok in my opinion, I like the side of salad with the sauce you can add to elevate the flavor. I like the chicken sandwich more which had tastes better. All in all, a pretty good experience overall and would highly recommend anyone try this place atleast once.

MezeHub is honestly the best Balkan spot I've been to in the DMV. Although it's a little on the pricier side, everything I tried was fresh, flavorful, and came out piping hot. Ćevapčići (5/5) - Juicy grilled beef sausages and onions on toasty somun bread, served with kajmak (clotted cream) and ajvar (roasted pepper spread). I can't believe I've never tried kajmak before... it was so whipped, fatty, and just delicious in the sandwich -- like a warm mix of ricotta and butter. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the creamy kajmak with the smoky ajvar tied everything together beautifully. Bosnian pide (4/5) - Resembled a pizza but with a thinner dough base. I loved the sudzuk sausage -- smoky, spiced, and so satisfying. It had just the right amount of sauciness and cheesiness, and it wasn't oily at all. Beef + potato burek (4/5) - Super thin layers of phyllo dough wrapped around a generous, hearty filling. It reminded me of spanakopita, but meatier and just as comforting. The food tastes so fresh and homemade, and you can tell they really care about quality. The service was also great, the staff walked me through the menu and answered all my questions. I was so curious about the different Balkan dishes and their processes, and they were so patient and helpful. The restaurant itself is big: a handful of tables, fairy lights, and tall ceilings made it feel cozy but open. A very cute, casual spot to enjoy your meal. Plus, it's attached to a Balkan market, so you can grab goodies to take home afterward.

To experience the Balkans in the D.C. area, drive to MezeHub. Park in the small lot and walk into a market and cafe. Seating is to the right where you can order popular dishes at the tables or pastries like sausage rolls from the counter. To the left is a market full of products from places like Romania, Serbia, Moldova, and more. Wine from the region clearly marked is in the back.

We visit DC/Bethesda every six months and always look forward to eating at this amazing, delicious, family owned Balkan bakery. Their mushroom bureks are to die for, as is their Dubai chocolate dessert. We've literally had everything they serve and always have at least 2 meals in the few short days we're here to visit. We also love their pide & cevapcici. Free parking in their lot. Super friendly and nice owners. Great service. Super casual bakery. Their Mediterranean coffee goes great with their Dubai dessert. Cheers & Happy Eating! DocMikeChiro

Very excited to try this place out!

So if said I'd update this review after I tried Cevapcici (beef kebabs) or as Business Owner Doug called them, Cevapi (BTW, he's a charming dude who is a pleasure to chatbwith). Anyway, now that I've had it, I am happy to report that I am adding MezeHub to my six star list. The combination of the meats, sauces, bread, and onions are beyond description. Each bite is a harmony of flavors and I simply cannot get enough of it. I'm hoping to get a small gathering of Yelp Elites to an event here to share the secret MezeHub. If you've been eyeing this place to try it out, the time is now. I wish I'd done it years ago.

Yes, I've been making a lot of trips to Rockville (Maryland) lately... and, while there, I'm making a lot of wonderful food discoveries! Today's find was a Balkan grocery called MezeHub, with a case full of hot house-made Bureks (meat or vegetable-stuffed pastries). The menu offers a host of other Balkan delights such as Ćevapi (house-made sausage), Pide (canoe-shaped flatbreads with various fillings... tasted and loved them in Istanbul), flatbreads, salads, and sandwiches. Today I got four Bureks: Beef, Beef & Potato, Mushroom, and Spinach-and-Cheese. At about $8 each, they're good value for made-from-scratch foods with quality ingredients. So if you love food from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Slovenia plus parts of Turkey and Greece), get yourself to Rockville and support this great nosh nook!!

First time visitors. We had 2 Turkish coffees and shared a toasty cheese burek. The coffee and the burek were fantastic. Nicely decorated cafe and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back when we're hungry and dive into the menu a bit more. Loved the overall vibe of the place.

This is my second time visiting. Mezehub and it was another total hit. The Pide was crispy, cheesy, and meaty while still being lite and crisp. The Cevapi was an amazing sandwich with Akvar, Kamak, thin onions on homemade bread. The cevapi were bouncy and flavorful with a generous serving. The side fermented cabbage and pickle were epic .

Their payment terminals had some issues as one of them couldn't process my credit card nor even the cash I had. The food was amazing. Initially I thought my borek would be cold only to realize after my first bite that the borek was warm and there was a warmer underneath the tray where the borek was kept inside the display case. There is ample seating to sit and there is even a comfortable sofa section as well. There is great music in the background that almost me fall asleep while relaxing there on a afternoon. I can't wait to go back to try the other foods on their menu.

Mezehub is an absolutely delightful place. The Balkan restaurant has a full menu of lunch items as well as a store full of imported foods. There are numerous table and some cozy sofas to enjoy the Burek (rolled phyllo dough) as well as Pide (wood fired flat bread) and Shwarmajun. Delicious. I cannot wait to go back.

Absolutely amazing! My wife came running back to the bookstore excited to show me the place. The prices are good, but the food and custom service is phenomenal! We definitely will be craving the food here again. We got the ćevapčiči sandwich and have no regrets!

Order at the counter for dine in or take out. If you dine in, order and pay at the counter, get a number, and pick a table. The left half is a grocery store, the right half is the restaurant/ hot food section. The staff was friendly and was happy to answer questions I had about the food. If you walk to the back of the seating section you can see them making food. Also, in the middle of the store is a glass enclosed room where food prep happens. Many areas are also very selfie friendly.

This is a market and a restaurant. They have pastries and flat breads and pides of various types. I ordered a shawarmajun flat bread and it was delicious. I want to try a pide next time. The staff was very attentive and helpful. They have a huge space and a large variety of groceries.

Turkish coffee with a sugar cube and tiny stirring spoon (plus a little treat!) .... Mmm!

The organizer had booked the brunch about a week in advance and had coordinated with the restaurant to pay a large group deposit. The reservation was for 1:30 PM, but our table was not ready until 2 PM. When we were finally seated, the table was only set for 20 people. We were in the upstairs room with another large group, so there was no space to really add two more chairs to our table. We had to crowd into the table to accommodate the last two people. Even though the brunch is bottomless with a menu to choose from, the servers decided to just bring random items from the brunch menu to the table. Honestly, some of the worst food I have ever seen. The vegetable vitamin salad looked like slop, as did the rice/salad dish, which I'm not even sure what it was called. We were also brought a trio of three dips as well as pita and cornbread. The dips were very bland, the cornbread was dry and flavorless. As I did not like any of the items that the servers selected, I begin requesting other salads/appetizers off of the menu. I requested the Greek/Mediterranean salad and the pickles, both were very underwhelming. As far as the brunch foods, the menu was literally all over the place. Even though this is a Balkan-inspired restaurant, there were items such as fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and shrimp and grits on the menu, which don't actually make sense in light of what Balkan cuisine is. The best thing I ate was grilled steak, which was on a platter with eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. There were two Belgian dessert waffles as well which were underwhelming. The only decent thing about the entire experience is that our servers kept the mimosas flowing. Each person in our party paid $75 inclusive of tax and tip-- 100% NOT worth it.

We didn't elect the bottomless mimosas though I was seriously tempted! We ate inside since I was worried about the chilly morning, but the enclosed patio looked delightful. I kinda wish we'd eaten out there! Noise levels inside were manageable. The food was wonderful and some dishes like the flatbread pizza were larger than I expected. The Seafood Cioppino itself was pretty good but not sure if I would order again as it wasn't very filling by itself. I also ordered a side of the Spinach & Oyster Mushrooms in Garlic Butter. Perfectly executed, the duck arrived with crisped skin and richly rendered fat, while the meat remained exceptionally tender. Each bite released a deep, savory aroma--earthy, succulent, and unmistakably French in spirit. It was a dish that quietly stole the show and lingered pleasantly in memory long after the meal concluded. 4/11/26 - The cod moussaka impresses with a crisp, golden top layer that delivers a bold, deeply savory cod flavor--rich, briny, and instantly satisfying. A touch of curry paste adds warmth and aromatic complexity, lifting the dish without overpowering it. Confident, balanced, and memorable--an easy re-order.

If you enjoy the French/Belgian classics, then this is as good a choice as any. The cuisine features sauce - lots of it - in almost every dish. You will find it in the escargots, the duck confit, and the steak. And of course the mussels are bathed in it. But hey, you came to indulge, did you not?! You could choose broiled salmon and salad, and still be happy though. I want to like this place more than I actually do. The food is not mind- blowing. The service is a bit impersonal. Something is missing from the tableau, je ne sais quoi. The highlights of my meal were the outstanding french bread, which is served warm, and an excellent glass of Chateau Neuf du Pape, chosen by the waiter. These framed the meal, like accessories that lift a so-so outfit. Let yourself be taken by the overall impression, not the individual parts.
