Stopped in for a beer right before closing. The brewery is on the smaller size, but we snagged seats at the a bar. The bartender was super friendly and gave us a few tastes before we decided on a full pour. I really enjoyed Hints and Allegations-a black IPA. My sister couldn't pass up Clay's Maple Pecan-a ice Brown Ale which would be a great accompaniment to breakfast. Wouldn't mind coming back to try out their food. And, maybe try out something on their brunch menu. read more

Solid brewery we found of the way home from skiing. Easy to get to off the highway. A little hard to tell what's on tap prior to your visit. You can try Twitter and Instagram. We tried Leftovers, Papa DIPA, Coffee Remedy, and Coconut Remedy. Good stuff for reasonable prices. $2 4 oz. tastes and $6-7 glasses. read more

This family owned and operated nano brewery is just too adorable. Not only is the beer delicious but the decor, the presentation of the flights and the merchandise is on point too - good job to your designer who I hear is the mother!! I love that this business is keeping it in the family and bringing locally crafted beer to the area - they are making some seriously dangerous brews too - the habanero beer is by far my favorite and if you have a chance to get a Growler, do it!!! read more

Great little brewery. We've been back a few times to get the homemade potato chip nachos. Dog friendly with great staff and patrons. With a small bar and a few high top tables the cosy atmosphere makes for great shared conversations. read more

Ok this review is for the BEER only as it is fantastic. They are a very small batch brewer and it is common for them to change their limited tap selection several times while you drink. One of the best places for IPAs in NH when they've got a good selection on tap. Very small tasting room and no food but super friendly staff and owner. Absolutely worth a visit read more

Stopped in with low expectations. In my experience, the breweries along the 93 corridor in Southern NH are underwhelming at best. From The Barrel's twitter account stated they had cans of one of their beers, so I stopped in to pick some up. By the time I arrived the cans were gone, so I reluctantly bought a small growler of some oddly named beer that I think was called "Back On The Train". It was terrific. The following week I brought the growler back to get some more, but that beer was out. So I picked another at random, feeling trepidatious, and it too, was terrific. A few weeks later I again saw cans on the twitter feed, but by the time I arrived not only were cans gone but they were down to just one beer, again an oddly named beer different than the two I had tried. Rather amazingly, it was just as excellent as the first two. I believe one of these latter beers was called Alana Pale Ale, and the other might have been the Zed's Dead Pale Ale. The beer names have a ways to go to becoming catchy, but what I have tried has been fantastic. My only complaint is that due to state regulations (so they told me) they are not allowed to fill growlers branded with other breweries. read more

My Saturday took a turn for the better last week when my husband and I stopped into the From the Barrel brewery. This is a great family run business with a delicious selection of beer. We both opted for a 5 beer flight that came with a FTB glass. The brewers do a great job of explaining the flavor profile and also the background on the beer i.e. who they are named after and why. The atmosphere was inviting and filled with fellow beer lovers. We found out that FTB is one stop on a beer tour. There were 4-5 other breweries in the same vicinity that we decided to explore when we finished I highly recommend grabbing a few growlers enjoy them when your tour is over! read more

So to start with the positives, there was a decent amount of seating given how small the brewery is, the bartender was super friendly and the prices really great (about $20 for 3 flights and a glass). The downside is that the beer really isn't very good. I only liked one of the beers in my flight and I use the term "like" very loosely. read more

Great little brewery. All their beers are good but Lily and Elle IPAs are incredible. When you pour a Lily, the hop and malt aroma can be smelled 3' away. Elle, is just OMG good. When you take your first sip, OMG are the words that come out of your mouth. read more

I've been waiting for a place like this in the area for a long time. I wanted to find something similar to the "heady topper" brewery up in Vermont. So I searched online and decided to take the plunge with From the Barrel. Plain and simple this place knows what they are doing and I hate to say it....I actually like the taste better than Heady Topper which was ranked #1 beer in the world. It's relaxing environment with friendly staff and these beers really may be the best I've ever had. The signature Growler tastes awesome. My favorite is "Zed's Dead IPA" obviously paying homage to Pulp Fiction with the name. The prices are more than reasonable for the high quality that they are selling. I bought up cases of the Zed's Dead and some other smaller batches of the other names. I couldn't try them all, I had to drive home! Love this place. Looking forward to going back...I'm going to stock up heavy for BBQ season. A+++ read more
