And I'm in this field for a living So trying to purchase 3 tickets to an event, and receieve a unable to process payment, please try a different card. So we did Between 3 of us we tried 5 cards across 3 different people We tried 2 phones, a tablet and a desktop computer We tried PayPal and venmo We tried different login accounts to frontgate All receive the same error. Each of us called our banks... No pending or declined charges Out of ideas, we call the FrontGate customer service. We explain all the steps we went through For the next 20 minutes we get asked the same questions we just told them. Did you try a different card/call bank/ different device/try venmo Out of options. They then proceeded to gaslight us and tell us it was on our end and need to call our bank It's like they got to the end of their troubleshooting sheet and if all fails send them to bank. I purchased tickets for the Honeyland Food and Music Festival held in Sugar Land, Texas, on the weekend of November 11th and 12th in July of 2023. Front Gate Tickets (FGT) originally billed this as a food and music festival, and over a period of 3 months, the festival switched from food and music to a music festival with samplings of food. FGT began to switch out what was included in the tickets we purchased. A $50 food credit was omitted in one email we were sent even though it was initially included in my VIP ticket price. Additionally, we were given the option at time of purchase to have tickets shipped to us for $11. FGT refunded the shipping fees without indicating that we would now have to pick up our tickets at will-call locations. It wasn't until I sent an email asking what the refund was for and how tickets would be received that they informed me of the change. FGT decided not to ship tickets, forcing people to pick them up at a will call in Houston, Texas. Because we live in San Antonio, we decided to drive to a specific location, mainly the Chifley Hotel in Houston, Texas, to pick up our tickets. This decision felt inevitable to avoid long lines at the event itself, which we witnessed once we arrived at the festival. FGT failed to post the schedule of events, including food presentations, music performances, and parking instructions, until 3 days before the event. On the day of the event, in the very early morning hours, around 12:30 or 1:00 in the morning of November 11th, FGT posted a social media post on Instagram stating that VIP parking was no longer available and that people who purchased VIP parking through their VIP passes would have to park in a parking lot and take a shuttle to the event. FGT never sent an email about the parking situation. As a result, there were massive crowds of people attempting to park and catch shuttles to the event, or they were left with the option as we were to walk back to our vehicles to leave the event. Once we arrived at the event, the promised VIP entrance and VIP Fast Lanes were closed off. These entrances were included in the VIP package that I purchased, and because they were closed off, we had to wait in a GA or general admission line even though we paid to have the upgraded faster access through the VIP entrances. Once inside the festival, we attempted to access a General Admission Plus area included in our VIP package. When I attempted to scan my wristband to enter this area, an employee of front gate tickets physically restrained me from doing so. When I showed her that my ticket included GA Plus lounge access, she said FGT told her to deny access to anyone but GA+ pass holders. Attempts by other people to show them that we were allowed to enter based on the fact that we were VIP pass holders were ignored or shut down by this employee. I took a video of the employee telling me we would not be allowed access to this area and that FGT decided to prevent access to VIP pass holders. When we attempted to use our merchandise credit for $25, the staff member at the booth told us that to use the card, we had to spend at least $50. This "rule" was a bait and switch on the part of FGT because none of the disclaimers or terms of service indicated that to use the merchandise credit, we would have to spend a minimum amount. My sole purpose for purchasing the tickets was because I am a food writer and chef, and my main interest was attending the festival's food portion. Besides the switch from "Food and Music Festival" to a music festival, no food samples were available, as with most food festivals. All the food had to be purchased, and the wait time to get food from these vendors exceeded one and a half hours. Besides the fact that there were extremely long lines, there was not enough food for the attendees, so despite waiting in long lines for hours, we were turned away twice because the vendor did not have any more food available. As a result, we went to a food festival expecting to be able to sample different types of food and didn't eat anything at all. Additionally, there was a severe lack of lighting on the festival grounds, which resulted in people not being able to see where they were going while walking on a muddy field. The bathrooms were not lit due to a lack of lighting on the festival grounds, rendering them useless. The wait for shuttles back to the parking lot where we were forced to park exceeded 2 hours. I have a video of a virtually empty parking lot within yards of the main entrance where we entered the festival. This parking lot could have been used for a VIP parking lot. I later discovered that the VIP parking lot was a cement parking lot, so the weather did not affect it, which is the reason for the closure, according to FGT. Only, their only-purpose UI/UX has bugs (for a core function of the provider), with form failures (forced password creation rejected though precise entries on multiple tries by a ...security expert), and no specifics as to why. The expletive-laden pw on attempt 7 worked ;-), only to proceed to reach a "CC error" (uh, no, not a single one). Separately, phone number isn't err'd nor accepted with "-". Finally get to 'Submit' (random success allowed?), & it reports "Order has expired, please contact support!" (with no direct path thereto, and "try 1 of 3", which I was obliged to re-attempt even with re-entries of all, never to succeed (per response). Apparently, you only get 3 minutes for a retry? Really, I was just playing in an involuntary doom-loop game... Got the "Order has expired" response each time with re-type of all entries in less then a minute... I reluctantly (ha ha) quit at this point and decided not to attend the event after all, though had been prepared and started process at precise opening of the "presale" window. Wanted digital delivery, BTW, and I otherwise use a PO Box as matter of course; nonetheless, this Web interface was under-designed and under-tested, as a mainstream function of the provider. You may reach this site by link from an event page, not knowing this ticket provider in advance, upon selecting 'get ticket'. At process entry, it gives you 8 minutes, and time limits are always applied in these cases to limit lockup and sale conflicts while also attempting to "sell out" while looking like it is "fair". Account creation for some concern that you DO NOT NEED a relationship with, buried within that time window, is BS. At least, they should be able to provide a form entry interface that makes sense and isn't completely buggy (or maybe all their prior services were at an agent's window ;-), and this is their first Online pony show). Get your act together or get out of the business. We're just retired folk looking to step out for a good time! Two Step Inn was our objective, assuming they actually DID adequately reduce the total tickets sold this year (as advertised) so there wouldn't be standing room only across three stages (as happened in a prior year). read more

I had a presale code that let me pay 2.50 per ticket and then monthly for two or three months the remaining owed would be taken out of my account. I did this via Venmo so it would come out of my one account that I rarely used. In doing so I wasn't able to add the ticket insurance that I always do add. Well I got a notice from Venmo my account was frozen because front gate pulled out the full amount. I knew I didnt have this in that account that's why I did the layaway plan. So I had to scurry to get money into the account (aka borrow it). Had I know I would have been screwed over this way I would have paid with my other account and bought the ticket insurance which I end up needing because my daughter's graduation is on the Friday. So having been forced to borrow money because of their error, not being able to get the ticket insurance and not being able to switch it to two one day passes or two Saturday general admission plus(so they don't lose money but I can still either give the Friday ticket to someone or have a better seat Saturday) they won't work with me. They direct you to rock the country people who refer you back to front gate. It has been a constant run around. Worst part is I have been a customer of theirs from the past. I won't be again. Currently filing a lawsuit against this company. It's unfortunate most festivals are sold through this website, it's even more unfortunate what a SCAM this company is. They aren't BBB accredited (not that it matters, but it's certainly makes sense based on how much they screw you over) After years of purchasing and countless issues, I rather pay extra to purchase event tickets through stub hub or Ticketmaster where issues are actually fixed and the consumers are first. If you can't purchase your ticket in full price you better check your emails every month on a layaway plan because more than half the time they have "payment processing issues" (even with the same card and plenty of money in your account)... what this really means is they don't find an alternative payment methods you forfeit your ticket and everything you've paid so far. Hasn't happened to be because I always stay on top of them. Recently, I purchased a hard summer 2 day ticket paid full price and a month prior to the event listed my ticket for resale through them. My ticket sold two weeks before the event and I was told I will receive payment after the event. So two weeks after the event I still didn't receive my payment. It's now 3 months later, I've sent 15+ emails and screenshots to customer service representatives that have all directed me to different people who direct me to someone else, I opened a claim with my bank that Front gate told them they will give me my money back if my bank closed my claim (really sus), like I said I still haven't received my money for an event in July. Unacceptable. This leaves me in the position of having to find alternative transport to the event as a back-up. Don't even bother contacting support if you have an issue. Also expect $250-$300 USD "service fees" on top of the normal ticket price. Also just because you have a ticket added to cart, doesn't mean that you can move on to your payment information and check it out. The festival website clearly states that refunds would be issued for positive COVID tests and exposures. There is absolutely NO way to reach them. The two phone numbers they plaster all over the place are "no longer in service" and it's impossible to reach anyone via email. My credit card company won't open a dispute because the original purchase was more than 60 days ago. So $710 down the drain. Everyone has issues arise where they can't make it to a show at some point. This is apparently why they have the ticket protection, right? Wrong. Even when trying to utilize this feature that costs extra, their support is often inaccessible or unresponsive. This happened to my partner not too long ago when she paid the extra money $60 total for the ticket reimbursement and attempted to get a refund a few days before the event. It wasn't until a full week later that Front Gate responded, by which point the event had already occurred and they would not honor the reimbursement. Another, more recent scenario I experienced, was that after purchasing tickets, I found out that there were already plans for the very weekend said event was to take place. Within 10 hours of purchasing the tickets, I submitted a refund request, which should be well within any reasonable window, right? Wrong. It took over two days to get a response from Front Gate support and they said my purchase was outside the refund window. You think??? The worst part is that there isn't an option for purchasers to cancel their tickets on their own and they're beholden to the efforts of FG's support staff, who are probably overwhelmed with requests thanks to the flawed service model. Only after my layaway plan was paid off, did I finally get my first response from Font Gate. Only for them to tell me they coudn't help me because the layaway plan was already complete and I would have to just re-sell the ticket. I purchased a one-day pass to Outside Lands in SF for my son. His ticket instructions were to pick up the wristband at one of the gates with an ID and the credit card used to purchase the ticket. When he showed up he was told the wristband had already been collected. When I reached out to Front Gate Tickets they were closed on the day of the event and refused to issue a refund. We had to purchase a second ticket so he could actually attend the event. They referred us back to the event organizers for a refund, which is ridiculous. Lmao they're a joke. For whatever reason, their phone lines are "temporarily unavailable" due to COVID but okay, so you have to contact them by email if you want to speak to anyone. They take a couple of day to reply back and when they do, it's entirely scripted and they don't listen to your concerns. I even bolded, underlined, and italicized words just to get my point across even further. Anyways, I reached out demanding a refund for my EDC Las Vegas tickets because obviously it would be stupid to still follow through with this event in literally 2 months!!!!!! when half a million people need to come together from all over the country to one place. Apparently they're going to have waivers in place saying you assume the risk of getting covid? Disgusting. Lucky for me though, I hadn't finished my layaway plan. I refused to let the last payment process since last year because I didn't want to dish out more money for an event that might not even happen. And due to the freeze on cancelling orders for nonpayment due to COVID, I've been able to maintain my order. The loophole that allowed me to get a refund was the fact that all sales are final on COMPLETED orders. but since my order wasn't technically "complete", they were able to issue the refund based on a "voluntary default in layaway plan" cancellation. So that's cool. Now here comes the frustrating parts. First of all, they emailed me back letting me know I could receive a refund in the way stated above and if i understood these terms, to reply giving authorization and they would go through with the process. In the same email, they said "please note once all payments have been completed on the account, a refund is no longer possible. so be sure to respond ASAP!" Tell me why right before that email, I had another email from them of them trying to process the last payment before I could request the refund!!! They haven't tried to process that payment for MONTHS. And then they tried once they saw I was trying to take advantage of the loophole?? Luckily the card I had on my account is no longer active so it declined the transaction. But still shady af nonetheless!!! Then they told me if I made multiple different forms of payment throughout the layaway plan, that each installment would be processed individually. I told them some of the payment methods used were no longer active. Accounts had been closed, cards had been tossed, I asked them what would happen when some refunds would be sent to closed accounts. No lie, one person said it would "reroute itself to the correct account". HUH???!! Another person said it would get sent back and then a check would be issued from them. ANOTHER said contact my bank and discuss it with them. Why would they know where the money would be. I'm no longer a customer with them. That's the point!! Now all payments have been refunded but they are sporadically all over the place, with no trace of where they're going or where they'll end up. I guess at this point I'll have to wait and see.
