And I take a short walk to exercise while waiting for them to be done. After their class, I take them to the library to play, read, and pick some books. It's always clean, the bathroom has several stalls, and there's a big waiting area to relax and/or have some snacks. This community center may eventually lose it's quiet and secluded feel when the bridge from the Gale Ranch area is done. Regardless, this place was well-planned and situated.

It provides a good view of the stage regardless which side you were watching. It was a good-sized theatre.

He is really passionate about drama and high performance. Since he is a full-time Elementary school teacher, he really knows how to get the best out of these kids. He has a team of excellent choreographers and directors working with him. Their whole team works really hard and the result is a phenomenal production. Drama improves a child's self-confidence in public speaking and provides a great platform for team work. After every performance we are totally awed by the enthusiasm and perfection of the whole team. The only negative I would say is that we are spoilt with TVYPA and would have a tough time doing drama with any other company.

This was supposed to be a celebration of San Ramon's kid's achievements. Politics??? Really? Politics weren't what these parents were here for. More importantly politics are not appropriate when the kids are too young to have strong discernment between what their teachers are telling them to say and what they are seeking to understand and cultivate for themselves. Because they're kids and they're getting a cool opportunity to perform, they might even be too intimidated to refuse to say it ...which is straight up exploitation. School of Rock: please don't manipulate our kids that way, stay in your lane. Parents: be advised that you will not be your child's only moral influence when you send them to this music school. They don't just grow talent. They tell them what to believe and you might not agree.

He is fun, knowledgeable, supportive and makes you feel comfortable. The class is very inclusive and supportive and your learn how to support your classmates and make each other look good. You will start every class with some fun warm-up games and then you dive deeper in scenes and Improv games. At the end of the session (usually around 10 classes) you will have a showcase, which is a great experience. Improv is not only fun, but teaches you skills you can use in your daily life. Highly recommend it!

I want to share a story about our family and how Musical Theater, more specifically how RTA…read more(previously Grand Performing Arts) has positively impacted our daughter's lives and our life as a family. My oldest daughter Chloe was bullied in the 2nd and 3rd grade. She was picked on by her peers and then in 3rd grade she was constantly picked on by the same two girls and was physically hurt on a consistent basis by one of them. Based on the observations of Chloe's second grade teacher, Chloe was able to receive some support via a school program run by the school counselor. It was the school counselor that brought to our attention that Chloe's self-confidence needed some support and healing and that by enrolling her in something that allowed her to be creative, to express herself on an individualistic manner, but in a group setting would help her overcome some obstacles. I'm so glad that the school counselor was able to see Chloe. See what she suffered from and seeing what she needed to redirect her on a path of positivity and growth. As we have a family history of depression, I could already see the signs in Chloe and didn't want her to fall into the deep hole I myself fall into time and time again. Soon after, I happened to fall upon a FB Ad for Grand Performing Arts. I contacted Kristi Grand, the Director at the time (and co-founder), shared our story and I felt an immediate connection. That was over 5 years ago. And today, Chloe and her younger sister Ella live, breathe, sleep, eat and dream about the theater. We have found a community/family filled with love, support, positivity, acceptance, and awesome examples of what an awesome place the world would be like if everyone had just a little more singing, dancing and acting in their lives. My husband and I continue to commit ourselves to RTA, supporting them behind the scenes because we BELIEVE in them. Their mission, their vision, their philosophies and we can't thank them enough for saving our little Chloe and bringing us closer as a family. Coach Trent and his staff provide a home away from home for our girls. A place to thrive. A place to be. We feel so lucky to have Chelsea teaching our daughter! A lovely personality and mentor, a highly skilled dancer and choreographer, a patient and kind Director. The Music Director Kevin warmly and patiently builds the student's musical understanding and performances. His contribution keeps musical standards high and performances enjoyable. The Business Director/Producer Rachel adds the no nonsense behind the scenes taking care of business ballast for all this creativity. We are grateful for her expertise to keep SingOut thriving. Originally named DLOC in 1959 when they formed a company performing Gilbert & Sullivan Light Operas. Eventually they changed the name to Diablo Theater Co. They had a youth program called STARS 2000, which continues to this day to operate. Diablo Theater Co. that use to produce large scale Musicals & Light Opera productions at the Lesher Center For The Arts in Walnut Creek, is no longer in business. STARS 2000 continues as their own company. There is no other youth program that is under the auspices of the Diablo Theater Co. and in fact their studios were sold and are under the ownership of Performing Arts Academy.
