First time here in well over a decade. The seats look the same except they added a few 2 seater couches. We came here for a free event during the weekday and parking was a walk in the park, we got there in time to grab one of the many couches, and we had a great time! We ordered popcorn and popcorn shrimp. Popcorn - meh, there is so much better popcorn at other movie theatres. I don't think I would order again. Popcorn shrimp - no worth it. Tiny small shrimp wrapped in a lot of batter. You taste the batter more than the actual shrimp. Definitely would not order again. read more

Independent movie theaters are the best! I always check the Vine first when I'm interested in seeing a movie in theaters. You can get free movie tickets with their free VIP card, collecting points when you purchase tickets or items from the concession stand. I value their transparency as well as I'm usually asked if I want to use my free ticket when it's available but they'll remind me that it works on both matinee and the higher priced evening tickets. I saw Wicked: Part 1 last year at the Vine and it was just as fun seeing Part 2! Loved the decor and themed food and drinks. Looking forward to more themed movie releases! read more

We recently came here for Toy Story 5. It was $32 for 2 adults and 1 child and we bought at the ticket window which was easy and fast. They had a cute toy story photo set up right as you walked in. We ordered a large popcorn, large soda and the 6 chicken strips. The total for the snack bar was $31 and chicken strips were ready in about 10-15 minutes and came out hot and were good, I would order them again. The theater was not overly crowded, perfect temperature and everything was clean. Overall we had a great experience from start to finish. We will be back! read more

I always enjoy a great beer, small bites and movies at Vine Cinemas & Alehouse. This has got be the best movie theater experience for the price. As soon as you walk in you have someone from the ticket counter and concession stand greeting you, they have a great choice of local craft brews and the seating is awesome with couch options and intimate. Simply a wonderful independent movie theatre! They have all the basics you would expect such as fresh popcorn and lots of candy options, but also beer on tap! Hungry? you can order food delivery from the Zephyr restaurant next-door (note as of October 2025 waiting on Zephyr to reopen after a recent fire). Sit in regular movie theater seats or couches for the lucky early rivals; and use the tables to hold your drinks and food. Clean restrooms. Lots of special events such as parties for the SuperBowl and the Oscars, Classic movies, and more. And best of all, friendly staff who want to give you a good movie-going experience! Yes, they do show some of the more "commercial" films but my favorite experiences at the Vine have been watching some of the lesser-known gems you won't find at the big chain theaters. Many of these films I would never have heard about if I hadn't come to the Vine. Love this place so much! The fare is very reasonable, employees are so nice, and it's always so clean! It's a smaller neighborhood movie theater with 2 different rooms that serves up some tasty food and drink (we snuck in snacks, but a couple next to us were feasting on some TASTY looking food from the kitchen haha!). The seats are nice and spread out with a few couches as well! It felt like we were on our living room couch. Definitely more of a homey kinda feel which is great! We also loved how all of the movie pre-show ads were from local businesses in the area. 10/10 will return! read more

I really wanted to like this place. The beer selection is pretty good and the food menu has a decent number of options. I got the spicy chicken sandwich but it was quite plain and pricey for what it was. Also, it's unfortunate that they text you when your order is ready and you have to come pick it up, so not only are people checking their phones during the movie, but you have to miss part of the movie to get your order (unless you should up early enough and never reorder anything, I guess). I was in theatre 1 and while there was an ad for Dolby sound, it didn't sound like they had surround sound (or the rear channels were broken) as it was clear that sound was only coming from the front of the theatre. read more

In a day and age where you can stream movies on a home TV or visit a full 4D experience in an IMAX theater. Apparently, the fourth D includes moving chairs, water, and air. Not my gig, but I digress. The Vine is a throwback in every sense of the word. From the facade to the carpet to the theaters, this place has the cozy and comfortable feel of old-school movie watching with a few twists. "I got the middle one!" yells my middle tween, streaking down the aisle and jumping onto a couch. If you are early enough to snag one, it may bring back memories from your mid-20s: large cushions, deep seats, and comfy pillows. "I didn't eat lunch today because I knew we were going to The Vine," says our teenager, climbing into the car. Sure, they have popcorn and soda, like every other movie joint, but then there's everything else! Appetizers, salads, and main events, as well as adult beverages. I'm a particular fan of the cranberry walnut chicken salad and impossible nuggets! With only two theaters, it may seem limiting, but the staff does a great job of rotating the freshest films out and blending them with throwbacks during the week and weekend days. I can't recommend Vine Cinema enough. Kenny and his staff are the absolute best. I've hosted almost half a dozen events here for friends and clients and they have always gone above and beyond to create the most memorable experience for me and my guests. Came here to see Wake Up Dead Man since it was one of the select theaters to play it during a limited run. It's a nice little theater with two screens. The tables in the front and the back of the theater are good if you want to eat dinner while watching the movie. Definitely not an IMAX experience, but it's quaint and fun for a different feel than a Regal or AMC. Prices are reasonable, and the food I got (chicken sandwich with fries) was actually not bad and reasonably priced. I don't think that I would want to watch summer blockbusters here, but this would be a nice change of pace for some Indy films or movies where special effects on a big screen are not the big draw. read more

I had a wonderful time at the theater. Some of my favorite features where that you are able to order real food and alcoholic drinks. Also, the seating was very comfortable. I sat in the regular stadium type seats, and the chairs were soft and comfortable. We also had a good amount of legroom. I noticed that several people were sitting in the sofas however, I did not try them. Also, there are a few tables located near seats, so it is possible for you to eat your food comfortably. The food selection included salads, popcorn, shrimp, and a lot more, I was very impressed although since I had just eaten, I didn't order anything. I will have to try the food next time I go to the theater, which I certainly will since I think it is now my favorite in Livermore also the prices at this theater are lower than the prices at the other movie theaters in the nearby area. Overall, I had a wonderful time. I really liked the theater and service. I will be back and if you have never tried the theater you should definitely do so. read more

Always a great atmosphere. Couches are comfortable. The theater is clean. The sound system was good. Staff is friendly.

First off, the staff are exceptionally friendly and polite. We were trying to leave tickets for friends who hadn't arrived yet, and the man working the window was very accommodating. The ordering process is great. Everyone stands in one clearly marked line, until they're called up to the register. The frozen rose was a little sweet for me, but still quite a tasty treat to enjoy during the movie. We didn't order food with the exception of popcorn. I will say that everyone else's food smelled fantastic. I'm coming back for a date night soon. The variety of comfy seating options and convenient tables were much appreciated. The whole experience was great, I'll definitely try and catch more movies here in the future. Five stars all the way! read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid. There's a lot of memories. And yeah it was the cheap run down theater but it had it's charm. I do like the new vibe and I've been here a handful of times since the changes with no issues. I'm just really sad my mom and I went to see a movie for our belated Thanksgiving night and during the movie I kept feeling like something was crawling on me and biting me. First my arm. Then my leg. Then I felt something and sure enough I got my phone and looked I had blood running down my leg and a bite mark. We reported it , showed them, and left. I got home and noticed another one on my leg. I was just really freaked out and upset. I really like this place but that's not good. They need to clean the couches and seats for sure. If you go don't sit closer to the screen in those couches. read more

This is my favorite place ever to watch a movie for the following reasons: 1) plenty of parking in a great area. Not a single homeless person in sight which means the security is doing their job. 2) amazing customer service. There is never a line here because they have a full staff and they work fast but not sloppy. You can order something and they'll simply text you when it's ready to be picked. 3) great pizza. I was surprised when I saw the size of it. Far more generous than any movie theater I've been to. I didn't think I could eat it all but it was so good I actually did. 4) the seating. Now, you don't get to reserve your seats but you don't have to. The theater is big enough and all the seats are good seats. They even have love seats if you wanna get real comfy. I still think about that pizza and how it has no business being so good for a movie theater. read more

We came here to see Elvis back on a Saturday in August. This place is a hidden gem in Livermore that nobody seems to know about. It's seconds from downtown, but near a shopping center with plenty of parking outside the cinema or nearby. You get to order your food and drinks, and they have hot food choices, not just the normal popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, candy. You then can take your food into the theatre and there's tables to eat at and couches to sit back on and watch the movies on, it's a super cool concept. My current Yelp check in count at The Vine is 73 but I've been here many more times than that. The Vine is a gift. When I lived in Livermore, my wife and I decided that we would see every movie The Vine showed whether we thought we wanted to see it or not and it was fantastic. We saw so many amazing films that we would have not otherwise seen. Great food options, great beer (including Altamont Maui Waui) and WINE. I don't know if they upgraded some technology but the picture quality and sound have never been better. We've since moved to Oakland but still go to The Vine on the regular. Great films, nice people, good food and beverage options. The films run the gamut from arthouse to first run blockbusters and they have old movies too. Get a frequent customer card and you can earn credits for free tickets. Come here, spend money, have fun. read more

I had my 5 year old's birthday party at Vine. It was a blast! The theatre is clean and comfortable. We had a dance party for the kiddos before starting the movie, and there was ample space for the kids to dance and parents to mingle. Before the party, Kenny made the planning easy and smooth.
