Not trustworthy. They will upsell you and charge you $10,000 to lay down a vapor barrier and messy orange spray foam everywhere. There are already rips all over the place...they also won't tell you that encapsulating a crawlspace traps all gases and may cause radon to spike. If you care about your health at all, keep oxygen flowing through your crawlspace. I learned the hard way. If you don't like the work they did, or their work causes problems for you they will not work with you to ensure you are happy. They will sue you and force you to pay their lawyer fees as well. This is America for you. Million dollar companies taking advantage of regular people. If you have an endless supply of money and don't care about your health, go with them. Otherwise save yourself literal headaches and just lay down your own vapor barrier and keep your crawlspace oxygenated. Oxygen is life! I honestly just want to help people here. Radon is a carcinogen and the company kept saying over and over to me "well most people don't know about Radon" -- it's likely I never would have known if I didn't buy a home monitoring system. It would have stayed at an 8 possibly forever...how many other people had this happened to? All these customers will get cancer and doctors will blame eating habits and it will be Frontier Basements Fault. Not sure how these people sleep at night. We have all purchased something only to get it home and realize the quality is poor. I don't want this system in my house, I don't trust it to help me in the least. But...I don't have the option to return it or pay half (because I know people put hard work into the project) but I don't want my basement enclosed anymore, I don't want this huge eyesore of a fan attached to my house. I want their work gone but I'm being forced to keep it and pay for it all. Just want to say that Sandy was the only person who was kind to us. One other technician came out to inspect the job to see if there were any holes to be patched up and there were holes, tears and gaps everywhere...he was nice but handed my boyfriend a roll of blue tape and said good luck basically. The hard working team at the bottom are only as good as the management team is, only as good as the tools provided are. Another technician was throwing up and hyperventilating to the point where I almost called the paramedics. I thought he was maybe on drugs so I'm not sure what that was all about. But Jesus, the "manager" was defensive and rude since the very beginning. I met with Brock Cumings, who looked it over and even climbed down into it to check it out. He covered various options, and we reached an agreement that was 5 thousand less than a previous bid I had received. On the day of construction, the crew arrived in a box truck towing a backhoe trailer. The backhoe dug slots by the foundation. It was nice to watch how well they worked together they knew the job so well. It was interesting to watch one man stand as the other handed him a hammer he did not ask for; no words were needed. Simply put, they were a cohesive team. They did not mind my asking questions; they had good humor and stayed busy. On day 2, when they were close to being finished, it began to rain. I expected them to run for cover, but they didn't blink; work went on as if it were a sunny day! I stood in the rain and made a review on my phone, but later I realized it was lacking, so off to Yelp I went. When it stopped raining, work continued for another half hour, and it was over. The foreman, "Isai," walked me around, making sure I was happy with the work, as the others, "Cristian and Joshua W," secured the backhoe. It was a skilled team that performed excellent work. With cracks handheld and my floor back where it belonged, I waved to them as they drove off and wondered, "Why Joshua W?" So would I have them back? Would I recommend them? I would and do! After spending $10,500 with Frontier "all things basementy" we now have an inflatable pool instead of an "encapsulated crawlspace" they will send a well dressed guy out to sell you the world, once you agree to the job a team of most likely undocumented workers will come quickly lay out some plastic sheeting and tape all the joints (not encapsulating anything) then place the dehumidifier and leave. After paying an electrician $1,200 to get power down to the crawl space, frontier plugged it in and "routed the drain tube". It came off 2 days later sending all the water the dehumidifier was collecting, straight back into our fresh plastic pool. In addition to their lack of knowledge of proper draining they just stuck the drain tube through a vent in the crawlspace. after a team of managers come out denying any wrong doing we agreed to pay an additional $2,000 to have them drill the hole for the vent, take out the insulation they were supposed to take down THE FIRST TIME!! They came and added some more plastic sheeting and tape and left. Months later our basement is still wet, still not encapsulated and they want $8,000 to install a pump now. Why would you quote a dehumidifier, but not the pump the FIRST TIME; every level of their staff has been contacted, they are useless. We had the absolute best experience today with James C. We have been dealing with foundation issues for about 5 years. We called them because the previous homeowner used USS and said their work was guaranteed. I won't go into details. Suffice it to say USS' does not guarantee their work and their customer service is terrible. My husband made the call to Frontier and what a difference. James was thorough, friendly and professional. He even took measurements to find out exactly what was needed to actually fix our problem, (imagine that). I cannot say enough about our experience with James and Frontier Foundation. Had our crawl space encapsulated and sump pumps and dehumidifier installed this month. Josh Miller was the foreman on our job and he and his crew did an awesome job. Josh was super patient with me answering a multitude of questions regarding the process. I installed a remote temperature sensor/hygrometer in the crawl space with a base station in our home to monitor temperature and humidity levels. Our crawl space was running 80-85% humidity before the install. Within 5 hours of powering up the dehumidifier it brought the humidity down to 50% and has remained at 47-50% since then. An added bonus is that our house doesn't smell musty any more and our HVAC is running less. I highly recommend Josh and Frontier. read more

Broken sump pump: Guy came right out ! Great right ?! Said easy fix on sump pump but said that his company would sell us 25k in total redo encapsulation in my crawl that was dry and graded perfectly so he left the 'part' needed stated he would return in 2 days ( before big storms came ) after waiting for hours then told on way soon , then ghosted ! Next day claims be there - meanwhile we are being pounded with rain & he unplugged pump ! At 70 yrs olds I had to climb in crawl myself to plug in pump and hoped to held until he showed ! 2 days later told he would be the next week! I said I don't know what he expected but he said he would repair left some rando part & never came back leaving me in position of having to find someone else ' in the end that part wasn't even a correct part , the diagnosis was wrong & sump was repaired by a reputable company ! Do not waste your money - in all honestly it's never healthy to completely encapsulate the crawl - there is a reason there are vents for your crawl , fresh air flow !!! And dehumidifies do not cost $4000. read more

I cannot say enough about the integrity and professionalism we encountered in working with Frontier - they saved us up to $80K and didn't charge us one penny. We thought we had structural damage and we had estimated costs of $80K, after listing our home and completing a home inspection that suspected structural issues. The wonderful folks at Frontier came out and could have easily charged us for unnecessary work. Instead, they went above and beyond and worked with us and our real estate agent, proving our structure was sound and even. In an age where most companies will take your money when you request work, they showed real integrity. I can only imagine the job they would do, if we had needed their services. After having them come out and give me the sales pitch, I decided to have another company lay down a vapor barrier for a fraction of the cost, that way I know I will have fresh oxygen in the house. They did tell me that most of the air we breath comes from that crawlspace and so if they cut off the oxygen supply, what am I breathing in? Toxic plastic? The absolute rehearsed sales pitch felt completely devoid of any sort of human connection and emotion, and was very clearly a money grab. They quoted me upward of $12,000. For what? To lay down plastic and put in a $200 dehumidifier? I got a bad feeling from this company, please do your research. Read the other reviews and choose something more simple. read more

I recommended Frontier to a client who needed to waterproof an addition before I renovated it. Frontier guaranteed their work for life, so I have confidence that their installation will keep out the water though it hasn't really been out to the test yet. That part is fine. But their finish work was atrocious. They left wires exposed from an outlet to the pump. They installed a rough, exposed drain in the middle of the floor. Worse, the finish carpentry was embarrassing. I was even embarrassed that I recommended them to the client. I wish I had worked with Frontier to have them do the waterproofing, and I just arrange to do all the finish work properly. I would make this recommendation to others too: Have Frontier do the waterproofing but hire a finish carpenter who knows what he's doing to out your house back together. read more

The first person sent to us was lazy (as I would see it) and short-cut services. The filling was inadequately installed, the seems not completely sealed and a whole lot of excuses were made along with lies sprinkled through. The crew sent out to rectify the situation affirmed my opinion of the work. They completely did the job over again. Their professionalism was exquisite. Everything was done as it was supposed to be done, and they cleaned up, something the first person did not. The first representative who went over the job with us was not completely informed as to the reality of the project, leaving an impression as to how it was to turn out that was unrealistic. This is why I rated it with a three. You never know who will show up at your house. When good it was great; when bad, it disappointed. I spent $9300 total for everything I wanted done. The encapsulation was well over $4500, which is getting pull out in January, due to the constant smell of cat urine caused by the material they use. I'd say inferior to other companies materials. I've been running my air conditioner on fan to rid the house of the smell for 5 years now. Frontier Basement Systems, 755 N Woodson Rd, Clarksville, TN 37043 I have never written a review before but this feels very important, Beware, CHECK THE YOUR HOME IF YOU HAD WORK DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We bought a new house in May, older house that we wanted to fix up. We tore out some areas in the basement and saw mold so decided to call an "expert." Hunter, the sales rep came immediately of course because, making a sale right.... Promised us this amazing basement waterproof system with an amazing dehumidifier. Going to be a little spendy, around 5-6K of course, but we want the best for our new home and with my mother also passing away in May (which is why we moved back and bought a house) and being busy with that and grieving, we were totally on board to have someone else take this task off our hands. We mostly do all our own work and what not ourselves, but it was not a good time. So, they schedule the appointment and come do the work about a week or two later. We work during the day so had a friend over to be present and ask about progress. I come home to a tile being broken on my floor, (the whole basement is tiled and was the only floor we weren't remodeling, I loved the tile in the basement so it was a huge disappointment to see they damaged the one part of the house we weren't remodeling) I will post pics of before and after, the work done looked pretty rough (trim not lining up and what not, not a huge deal, we could fix it) and the huge dehumidifier not in the spot we were promised. They drilled a hole right through my wall and put it in the middle of the floor. Again, not great, but we could deal. So, we call about the tile and de-humidifier to be fixed, they come to move the de-humidifier days later and THEY DID NO WORK UNDER THE NEW HALF WALLS THEY PUT IN!!!!! THE MOLDY WOOD WAS ALL STILL THERE AND THE BARRIER THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO GO BEHIND THOSE WALLS TO DETER MOISTURE WAS NOT INSTALLED. They did nothing but break a tile and put up half paneling. So, they are supposed to come back out AGAIN to fix all of this. All the promises again. They come back, do not fix the tile, move the dehumidifier and that's it. I had to call over and over to get the work done, and they would even give me a refund. BEFORE they came back to actually install the studs and barrier, I asked if they will just forget it, cancel my order or whatever and refund my money and they said no, they already did the work, BUT THEY DIDN'T. So, its like the fourth time they have had to come out now, I am beyond tired, I ask for pictures of progress so that I know for a fact that they installed the items I paid for. They promised they will show pictures along the way so that I can see the work and know it is done, the man assures me if I do not get pictures, he will have the worker take the walls back off to show me. None of that happened so I honestly have no idea if my basement was ever even waterproofed and I'm too exhausted and stressed at this point to even ask that they come back. They did move the dehumidifier to the correct spot, but then it began leaking and caused water build up in my basement that they were hired to waterproof... yay. My tile is still broken, they do not call to update us, only tell us what's going on when we happen to get someone on the phone. Apparently, the lady working on finding our tile left so someone else is trying to fix it. It has been 2 months now and still not finished, but they made sure we did not get a refund of course, no discount for the literal chaos they are putting us through, nothing. And... they do not clean up after, my basement floor was covered in dust and crap, insignificant and usually not an issue, but added to the other stuff they put us through.... It's just all too much. I would not recommend this business to anybody. I contacted them about insulated my house by spray foam the attic, part of the garage, and insulate above the shingles. The work date is scheduled mid October for 4 days. The first day the worker show up in the afternoon. According to them, they have somewhere else to be before they work on our house. Whatever, they got most of basement done on the first day. Second day, they called to let us know, there's an "emergency job", so they have to leave early. On the third day, there's still not much progress. I contacted them know. Nobody has any clue. We were informed later that the equipment is malfunction and they would have to order equipment and will finish it the next day. Apparently the new equipment hasn't arrived, and they can't finish the job. The had to reschedule. On top of that, we had to be out of the house the whole time they work on it, because of the fume of spay foam. They had to reschedule twice. We started the project on October, but didn't get finished until December. On top of that they weren't able to finish part of the project due to the structure of the house. Went with the system they recommended me, they actually got to come early and that was a plus due to every time it rained my basement/crawl space flooded. They came out installed it and left the job a complete mess. My crawl space is where my water filter, water heater, unit etc so I'm down there often. all the extra mud to thrown to the side, no cleaning up, and they say the Dehumidifier on a the packing it came from , after we talked about where and how I wanted it. I had to end up coming in cleaning, removing the mud and adding tons more gravel for drainage. Only reason I gave them 2 stars is that the system works and do not have standing water in the crawl space anymore, and can't give a 1.5 stars. If they would of just spent an extra hour or two with all their guys to clean up and add what wAs needed then they wOuld be up in the 5 star range. And the best part it has now been a Month and they still won't give me a resolution and what they are gonna do about it. They salesman gave me a date he was gonna come back and talk about it and welp no one showed up. I would say proceed with caution. My experience was that they may quickly recommend an extremely expensive procedure that may not actually fit what is going on with your structure. Be wary of representatives who do not seem to understand foundation basics and bristle at technical questions. I had water intruding into the basement of my house due to a grading issue on the backside of my property. My insurance informed me that they would cancel my coverage if I didn't resolve the problem, so I called Frontier. The sales rep was nice, and suggested we waterproof the retaining wall in the basement, and install a sump pump. That would be cheaper than bringing in an excavator to regrade the backside of the property. Long story short, the crew that showed up to install the sump pump did a sketchy job. The drain they installed for the sump pump only went halfway into the main slab of my house. This forced me to make a customer service call and bring them back to do a better job. So that's what they did... Fast forward one year, they call me a week ago and say they need to set up a time to do maintenance on the sump pump, but failed to reference a fee was involved. I just got that bill for $139. Here's what upsets me about this whole process. The sump pump in my basement is useless. I regraded the backside of my property by myself with filter stone and dirt. I didn't even need an excavator. The whole process cost me $200. However, I am still financing a $7000 sump pump, and I am being charged maintenance fee's on it. If I had to do it over, I would've simply had them waterproof the retaining wall, and said no to the sump pump. It wasn't necessary. I would be very careful using this company. At the end of the day, they are there to sell you on the most expensive thing possible so that they can make money. Your time spent with their representatives is no different than spending your time with a car salesman. You decide whether it's worth it. It wasn't for me. read more

And was polite, professional, and got the job done quickly. He had a great attitude, and was just all around wonderful. This was my first experience with Frontier Basement Systems, as we just bought a home that already had the stuff installed, but because of Josh, will not be our last. Had a excellent experience with Frontier Basement Systems! We discovered a water issue in our finished basement shortly after moving in. Frontier was the most professional and thorough company we had come by for an estimate. Rob Blair gave a very thorough inspection and worked to find a solution for us that would: 1) fix our water problem for good, and 2) not break our budget. Frontier was prompt in setting up the interior waterproof install, and Rob was always available to answer any questions we had prior to the install. On installation day, Carlos Guox and his team were incredibly professional. Carlos answered any questions we had, and worked with us when any modifications to the original plan needed to be made. We were very impressed with the quality of the work that was done and the manner with which it had been completed (mats and tarps were laid down, areas were cleaned).
