I was so excited I got Frontier because of its fiber optics. My first experience was not so good. Their system was down and the rep even gave me an order # to call back after the weekend because she thought their system will be running. It didn't happen. I had to call back because no one called me 3 times. Once I got through after a week or so, it went fine. Then, the tech came out 3 days later which was great and he was on time. Well, it's not complete because I only got half of it and my husband was completed in getting the connection. The tech was already gone by then when I realized I was half done. They send you a text to see how it went and I responded I needed help. No one has contacted me yet. I'm really tired now but I'll wait until next week when I feel better and maybe their system will get all caught up in response time. I'm bummed. read more

I honestly regret going to Frontier Internet .. we should have stuck with spectrum! I had them for 3 months and had nothing but problems every bill cycle. Now my internet is off for the next 24 hours because they are stating "that's just how it is..." any other company will have your service reconnected IMMEDIATELY. When people work from home, it is extremely inconsiderate to have them wait 24 hours for their internet service to be restored without any real reason for that time frame! The service sucks, the automated billing system generates what it wants, it's extremely difficult to get the robots off the phone to a real person, they do not have 24hr customer service, and even escalation to a supervisor my issues still weren't resolved. This will be my 3rd and FINAL month. I'm going back to spectrum. ZERO/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!! I wish I didn't even have to put one star! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I canceled my service with Spectrum due to reliability. A frontier representative just so happened to show up at my door and suckered me into signing up with them. Since then, I have constant dropping. I've called twice in less than 3 weeks and each time all they've done is reset my wifi and give me a $2.50 credit to my bill lmao. This time when calling, I requested a tech to come out because obviously resetting the wifi isn't working and I was met with a "okay but it's up to the techs discretion if you're charged $150 for the service call" EXCUSE ME? $150 for YOU to come fix YOUR equipment??? After this experience I will be switching back to Spectrum because id rather deal with their poor internet than to pay $150 every time Frontier has to fix their poor internet. After dealing with Spectrum for over a year I had high hopes for Frontier and all I've been met with is disappointment, bare effort technical support, and threats of $150 charge to come fix it. have had frontier for years now and have never been impressed. for a long time speeds were really slow and connection was inconsistent. they updated my house to fiber claiming they would be giving me 1gb speeds for the same price and not I get 500mbps and prices increased. over the time I have had frontier my rates have almost doubled (just increased another $10 which is why I am FINALLY leaving). on a side note they also asked where i wanted the modem installed when updating to fiber only to tell me they had already ran the fiber line the opposite side of the house. read more

We cancelled service for my mother-in-law. She was moving to a new apartment in the same complex. The managers told us they had had trouble with Frontier technicians doing some prohibited things in the main cable boxes at the complex. We called and cancelled service 5 days into a new billing month. That went fairly easily. Frontier still wanted to charge us for an entire month's service even though we cancelled 5 days into the new cycle. Some nonsense about once the bill was generated they would not offer any credit or prorated billing. I threatened to leave bad reviews everywhere I could and the service rep got permission from her supervisor for a "one time credit". To be fair the rep was very helpful and friendly, just bad company policy. read more

Wanted better speeds so they sent me these stupid boxes that didn't improve my speeds at all. Then when trying to cancel service they still charged me for the month and said they were able to do so because of terms of service. Now they want to charge me a $50 restocking fee just to send the back on top of paying for all the shipping myself, if I don't they said they'll charge me $100. Customer Service waisted my time for over a hour before they would even. I strongly advise not using this service as it has been the worst experience I've ever had not only with internet providers but out of any service I've ever had. When you cancel, they tack on additional cancelation fees under the guise of "restocking fees" and "increased dues",, make you pay the full bill regardless of when you cancel in your billing cycle. When it works, it's good and fast enough for my needs. The primary issue with this service is that the company has too many things that have to be done before the service desk gets the issue in front of someone who can correct the issue. There are very few who know what they are doing. Before a connectivity issue is resolved, you'll be down an entire week waiting on hardware to arrive. Once received, you'll go through the entire troubleshooting process again. Eventually you'll be dispatched to a tech so you can wait days for the tech to arrive. Reporting an outage to someone who can resolve it is blocked because they have processes that do not accurately show where the issue is. I'll eventually get a text message that there was a known outage and everything has been restored. This has been recurring for 3 weeks steady now. Once someone resolves the root issue I'll likely go a year without an issue. The service desk is worst than it's ever been with people that cannot explain what they want done - it's like they are all new and have a weak grasp of English. If one gets frustrated, they can get a little aggressive while still repeating the same non sense that has everyone confused to begin with. Usually it's because they are reading a script that they cannot relate to what they were told is going on. Giving insight to save time is of no use. They try to sell upgrades during every contact - it's easiest just to let them do the sales pitch and say no. Oddly, when you will feel valuable is when you have given up and you decide to switch companies. I only stay because the time it takes to get Internet restored is about the same of what it takes to switch to another company. Every troubleshooting call makes me question if other providers are just as bad - when I move I definitely will use another provider. read more

Take my advice (35+ years in the media) don't rely on Frontier for any type of service. They are awful. I won't go into too many details (the list seems endless) but they seem to like scaring people into paying them after you cancel service. They've been harassing me for money I don't owe them (I have proof): threatening to turn the unpaid balance over to a collection agency. I wonder how many people have paid just to get them off their back. For them, I plan to consult with an attorney about a possible class action lawsuit. We've been with Frontier for almost 5 years here in SoCal. They've gone from good, to questionable, to WTF? Their tech support is completely OFFSHORE, which means you have to deal with people who, in most cases, can barely speak English. Our land-line has been down for at least 5 days. I've been on the phone with them 3 different times, and their on-line diagnostics seem unable to solve anything. Today, the customer service rep realized the insanity of our not having a phone line and was able to get a "service ticket" generated. The bad news is that it's going to be almost a week to get a technician out to the house to fix it. Why do people put up with this? Why do you have to go through the agony of multiple days elapsing before they approve you for a technician, and then have to wait multiple days until they come out to fix it? Absolutely horrible customer service. I live in a small studio apartment where the address is 348A. A new neighbor moved into the main building (348) and the new neighbor accidentally turned my service off. Within the last week, I got multiple emails about my service getting shut down. However, it was full of spelling errors and did not use my correct address, so I thought it was a scam. I even got a voicemail, and when I googled the number it told me to call back, Google told me it was a scam number. For the past 24 hrs, I've been trying to get my service turned back on, but it has been one of the most difficult customer experiences I've ever had. I had to talk to 10 different people today. The third person I talked to told me my service would be back on 4pm, but when I tried to sign into the MyFrontier app, it told me there was no account that was associated with my email. Called frontier back (AGAIN) and they told me they needed to send out a technician and that he wouldnt be available until Tuesday, four days later. I never once asked for my services to be turned off, but Frontier did it anyways without my conformation. None of my equipment had been touched, as I've been a loyal customer with autopay for 3 years. There is nothing for the technician to set up, because it's done already. Turning my service back on should be as easy as pushing a button. How was my neighbor able to cancel my internet service without Frontier asking me first? And why is it taking them so long to turn my service back on? Fuck this company. Switching to Spectrum on Monday. Sucks because almost everyone on my street switched to Spectrum, and when the Specturm employee knocked on my door a year ago to get me to switch too, I fought tooth and nail to keep Frontier. Worst customer service ever! We recently got all new internet equipment installed that was supposed to improve our internet speed and reliability. Instead, ever since the new equipment was installed, our internet service has been far worse. We never had a problem with the old equipment. Calling customer service is a nightmare! You can't speak with anyone in the USA because all the customer service jobs have been farmed out to the Philippines or India. Our Ring Doorbell depends on the internet to operate. Our internet is down more than up so most of the time we don't know who is at our front door. If we are using a website and the internet goes down, we lose what we were doing on the website. I have never had a problem using my personal cell phone in my house. But now my cell phone doesn't work with WiFi calling. I have to take it off WiFi so my cell phone will work. I do not recommend Frontier Internet!! Lousy service, no customer service in the USA. We have to wait one week for a service technician to come check our equipment. That's just unacceptable! We depend on this service and we will probably look for a better provider. read more

No, one showed up, after being on the phone for hours they finally said, no one was coming out due to an error and something not being entered into the system. They made me wait another 2 1/2 weeks for a new appointment... now my new appointment has come and they are telling me the same thing and a tec wasn't going to be sent out again. And apparently there are no supervisors on had to speak to because they "work from home" and will take a couple days for them to call you back. read more

Absolute waste of time. Signed up for service in December of 2024, they came out to install fiber service but could not do it because the utility pole was not close enough to the house so they would have to due a buried line. Said they would be back in early spring once the ground thawed. I thought ok, that is reasonable. Spring came and went, never heard from them so in late April I went online and set up an appointment, got a text from them saying someone would contact me soon to confirm appointment. Again, never heard from them. Called them in mid May and after spending about 30 minutes on hold and trying to get through the automated system I finally got to a live person and set up an appointment for the next week. I had to change the appointment the day before so again I called them and had to deal with the same horrible automated system and after about another 30 minutes got the appointment changed to the next day. Sat at home for the 4 hour window they gave me and surprise, no one showed up. Called them yet again and spent 20 minutes on hold, finally got a rep who then put me back on hold "for a minute" while she looked up my info and after about another 10 minutes got a completely new rep so I had to start all over. Just told them cancel my account and refund me the money I had paid 5 months earlier for installation, the rep then had the nerve to try to offer me 3 free months of service. Told him to shove it where the sun does not shine and that I would not sign up for the service again even if they offered me free service for life. 5 months of waiting, absolutely horrible communication and when they did communicate it was shit excuses or missed appointments. DO NOT sign up any of there services. read more

Half the price of the much slower internet I was currently paying for. Never let company on your property In June 2024 I agreed to have optical cable internet installed for my house. They brought in cable but in the process broke plastic conduit with electrical wiring in it. That was in June. for the last three months I have been trying to have them to repair it. they tried it once and repaired outdoor plastic conduit with simple tape!!! They lied to me saying that the tape is there temporarily till some coating dries. Then I forced them to remove that tape and all that repair work just fell apart with electric wiring exposed. They never call back and I have to try to catch their manager by phone. And the way the cable is secured outside is just by cheap plastic clip with optical cable hanging in the air. It is really unprofessional. I don't have much choice in my area - it is either Cox or Frontier with customer service for both are really bad but at least Cox makes installation properly. And Verizon is buying this company for 20 billion:) read more

Whatever you decide to do, DO NOT switch to Frontier! Our business thought we were making a good move, to switch to Frontier. Wow, what a disaster! First, we were without phones for FOUR DAYS, because Frontier thought it was a good idea to port our number over BEFORE THEY INSTALLED THE EQUIPMENT! Then after we finally got phone service, we lost it twice that week. Then, when we got internet, it consistently dropped, with no service at all, or ran at stupid slow speeds. On top of that, we were supposed to get fiber, but of course they did not give us fiber. Each time we called Frontier customer service, (I spent at least ten hours on the phone with them in a week), we were given the runaround, including being told that they couldn't schedule a service call for 11 days! An internet provider that just as bad or worse than the counties they specialize in. The signals are so bad they make me want to slam my head against the wall like there's a prize involved. I try to play my game and get hit with the internet connect of a toaster, the loading speed of a 90 year old grandma, and the reliability equivalent of that one friend who never pay's you back. I'd rather rely on a turtle to win a F1 race than to trust this toilet dump of an internet provider. "Internet Provider". The only thing Frontier has to provide is the idea to never use the internet again, because every time you do it's lag beyond belief. It's almost like it hurts for them to actually provide internet. I am a true believer they purposely and intentionally mess with their servers for you to remind them what their job is. Be aware that when disconnecting/canceling service with Frontier Internet, they will charge you for missing equipment even if you shipped it correctly.
