I hate everything & everyone associated with this company. They over charge you for service & then attempts to avoid taking ownership for any of their "billing errors". They'll shuffle you from one dept to the next wasting hours of your life. They'll make the process as difficult as possible (right up to the disconnection) in hopes that you'll give up or your phone would go dead, then you'll pay their egregious charges. I never leave reviews but this company is the worst experience I've ever had with an internet company. First I had them come out on Wednesday to install my router and get my internet set up - everything went fine and it took about an hour to do. The internet connected and then about an hour after installation it would no longer connect to the internet. This is where all of my issues began. So I spent the next 1-2 hours on their help chat with 4 different representatives trying to figure out the issue. Finally after having to bounce from department to department they finally told me that my account wasn't activated. Then said it may take 24-72 hours for my account number to be generated and there wasn't anything I or they could do until my account was activated. Okay fine. When I expressed that I wish someone had informed me that it could be up to 3 days before I would get internet after having my router installed they told me that someone should have "educated" me about the process. (Keep in mind the person who told me this took about 30 minutes of asking their superiors why my account wasn't activated so they didn't even know themselves it would take that long). I then asked what I would have to do when my account became active. Did I need to reset my router? Contact support again? And the representative told me I didn't have to do anything at all and it would automatically become connected. I have a screenshot of this conversation of her telling me this as well. So I waited and finally my account became active close to 48 hours after the router was installed. Guess what? Yup it did NOT automatically connect to the internet. SHOCKER. So again I was one with representatives trying to get it connected for about an hour. Finally it got connected and lasted all of 4-5 hours before it went down again. So got back online with a representative for them to tell me there wasn't anything else they can do besides send a technician out to try and fix it in person. Well I work and not from home which means they couldn't come until much later in the week as I was not taking off work for this crap. So at that point I switched to Spectrum and will have internet by tomorrow. I am so sick and frustrated right now I will NEVER use Frontier again. read more

They're internet is always slow and 1/2 the times things won't even load! They can never fix it over the phone, when they come out they want you to buy a new router... to try and fix the problem just for it to come up again a month or 2 later. All services down and the issue is either at the ONT or further out (Frontier's end). We were told the service tech will be here in 8 days. I explained the important reasons of having a land line telephone especially with the lack of cell service in my area like calling 911. Because i've reached through to them about this we're on a unicorn list to recieve a call if any tech becomes available before then (roll eyes). This is unacceptable. I understand the situation with the weather and outages, but Frontier is a giant telecom. This is so typical. This is a complete non-starter for me. I scheduled to have Frontier installed in my newly rented home. I scheduled a week or longer in advance and when the day came, I arranged my plans to available for the technician who never showed. Finally in the last 30 minutes of my window for service, I called the office and they said the technician couldn't access my order and rescheduled for Monday. Monday, the same happened so I called AGAIN and explained my situation. I was met with a song and dance about the previous tenant and told there was nothing they could do for me after wasting 8 hours of my time. I went with Spectrum. DO NOT GET FRONTIER! They did not show up Thursday to install my cable and internet. I spent 45 minutes on the phone where no one could help me they would just keep sending me back to customer service and giving me the runaround. I finally got a human, although it's from another country, and she said she could help me and set another appointment and they will come today between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and of course I had to change all my plans for that, and of course they never showed. I talked to three customer service people yesterday and gave them all my phone number and address and when I went to call customer service today, once again the automated service didn't recognize my phone number or address. I was going to switch from Spectrum to Frontier and when I notified Spectrum they said they would give me a big discount not to do that and I am going to take them up on that. I'm a local well known school teacher and I'm going to use my absolute influence to let every teacher and parent I know to never get Frontier and how unprofessional they are. I called tech support today for a question about access to my router. Kevin was extremely rude and unprofessional to the point of making snide little remarks in the background. He accessed my router but did not help me get access and then hung up. I've been in Telecom since 1977 and was a Verizon customer since 1988. I've never seen a company with such a worthless group of employees, managers included. They just don't care about the level of service but you'd sure better pay up. I've had frontier internet for 4 years. Always paid my bill early never missed a payment. Dealt with them raising prices every year on me, and I had to cancel because my apartment makes me pay for rent through someone else and not only are they almost impossible to get ahold of, you can only cancel by talking to a customer service rep and their hours are mon-fri 8-5. I'm at work within those hours. But not only that I have to pay my full bill not prorated and and 50 dollar restocking fee. What the f*** is that? Absolutely ridiculous. My services started with Spectrum. After two router changes and still skippy service, I moved to Frontier who uses the phone line. Anyone out there remember the reliability of phone service during power outages? Well just me reporting in that they rock, very little skipping now and I pay $20 less. It's a no BS provider that focuses on doing right. Spectrum still treats me like a number no sooner than dropping them I get offers in the mail marketing there junk. Mixed bag. Lack of channels and overall cost is main reason for three star overall rating. Been Verizon FIOS customer Land O Lakes/Lutz, FL since 2003, Verizon bailed and created Frontier. Verizon built a damn fine infrastructure, but Frontier is letting it degrade. TV: 3 Star As Frontier Corp slowly disintegrates, the included channels have been either disappearing or going behind paywalls without effective notice. This is the worst service on a "included channel" basis. Plopping down with a brew and finding out your favorite channel was pay walled is annoying. The quality is excellent (1080P). You can see Joel Olsteen's plastic surgery scars in HD and motion blur and other compression stuff is pretty subtle. It's not especially easy, but you can set the cable box to skip all the bible thumpers and home shopping crap. Phone: 4 star Service is solid, never given me any issues. Sound quality is excellent, no artifacts. I get US and Canada calling. Any "advanced features" are dated and not easy to manage. Buy a programmable cordless phone (Panasonic) to block spam and build dial strings for voicemail access. OK value. Works well in tandem with NoMoreRobo (free) for spam control. FIOS Internet: 5 star The jewel is FIOS internet. I got 50/50 service since 2003 and it always benchmarks at least (cloudflare Miami) 50/50 and CONSISTENTLY (like last 17 years) jitter: 4mS and latency: 15mS. (Jitter under 25 is needed for VOIP and 15mS latency at 50/50 will be perceptually faster than 100/100 at 50mS latency). I can do multiple heavy data (not uncommon.... concurrent: 2 zoom video meetings, Disney+ movie for kids in 1080p, 3 day duration backup to cloud from NAS), not a problem. It's better than just about any office network I've worked on. Never encountered data caps or throttling (checked with Wireshark and other tools.) FIOS internet has only had two serious failures since 2003 (its Feb 2021 now). The ONT was submerged for 4 months back in 2004 hurricanes, FIOS kept chugging along. I keep looking at Spectrum as the Frontier monthly cost is stunning $180/mo, but the internet and overall reliability keeps me as I'd rather have internet than beer. (You can order beer over the internet, but not the other way around.) read more

In case anyone wondered how Frontier treats their customers, here's a fun story/warning: We recently bought a house () and called Frontier to move or Service from the rental to the new home. Contact attempt #1: Spoke with representative, they could not find the address due to it being a new build, said they would put in a ticket for someone to go verify the address and check to see if they service the area. --No returned contact. Contact attempt #2: Spoke with representative, turns out Rep#1 never put in a ticket. Rep#2 says they will put in a ticket. --No returned contact. Contact attempt #3: Spoke with representative. Rep#2 put in ticket, no one went to check for service. Offers to speak with Supervisor. I advise Rep#3 I will be contacting Spectrum to see if they provide service to my new address. Rep#3 confirms she will return contact with me after speaking with Sup#1 and confirms there will be no early termination fee if Frontier is unable to service address. --No returned contact. Contact attempt #4: Spoke with representative. Confirms Frontier does not service my address. Offers to cancel my services with Frontier, confirms there will be no early termination fee. Confirms Service will be stopped 31May2018. Offers to email confirmation ticket # of termination of Service. Contact attempt #5: I received a bill for service for month of June due in July. I call Frontier and am immediately routed to Sup#2 due to contacting Frontier so much in the past few weeks (hmm, weird). Sup#2 confirms there is no ticket or indication on my account that I had spoken to Rep#4 and my services were never canceled. NOW due to the neglect of Rep#4 I am responsible for one month of service I never received. Sup#2 confirms there is nothing they can do but cancel my services now and I am still responsible for the month of service I did not recieve. In summation, Frontier employees cannot be trusted to do their jobs. Frontier supervisors will not hold their employees accountable. Frontier will charge you for services you did not receive due to the neglect of their employees. ALWAYS get your confirmation numbers when starting and stopping services directly from the employees mouth. Also, I've had both Frontier and Spectrum Internet. Spectrum internet works better than Frontier at 100 MB/sec. Have a better day than mine! read more

I wish there was a rating of Zero or lower. Took me 4 hours on the phone to simply establish new service at a home I purchased ( Note : There is no special circumstance, and I am already a customer at another one of my properties ), they simply could not figure out how to maneuver the work order. While I admit that I should have simply hung up and called Spectrum, a customer service supervisor got onto the call and advised that he felt like the service was as ridiculous as I did and he told me that he was placing a $150 credit onto my account. Today, I called Frontier ( another 45 minutes on the phone ) simply to say that I had not received any communication from them since setting up the service for April 26th 2024. The totally disinterested customer service rep said oh yeah, I see where you are set up for electronic communications but we can't do that until we send you a paper copy, I will do that now. When I asked about the credit , he said " there is not credit on your account". My advice, GO TO ANY OTHER PROVIDER, Frontier outsources their call center to China. Called today to get pricing on FIOS in my location. The rep did not listen to a word I said, and kept asking the same questions. I explained to him I wasn't interested in package deals, just internet, as this was for work. He came back and started offering package deals. He then stated he could NOT tell me starting prices for 1GB internet, because he needed to pull credit first. I explained I wasn't about to have credit pulled to get a price on what their service would cost. He then claimed he would lose his job. So off to the internet I went. Found the cost for 1GB, but then decided to google yelp reviews and between my experience and the other reviews, not a snowball's chance I will be getting their service. Frontier has completely ruined what was a great service. Internet speeds stopped reaching what we were paying for and the bill kept going up. Finally I got frustrated and switched us over to WOW, and we're saving 60% on our bill. Sad thing is I'm not exaggerating. I called Frontier to ask why my bill had ballooned to $400 and they couldn't give me an answer. I asked about downgrading and let them know there are two competitors with lines in our backyard. They didn't care until I called back to cancel all services. Pro tip. When cancelling Frontier, keep saying this chant: "please cancel all services effective immediately. I'm not interested in staying with Frontier, so please cancel all services effective immediately". Seems to get them to realize you're not coming back and they cut the sales and just process the service termination. What remains to be seen is if they actually receive the cable boxes and routers they gave us, or if they "lose it" and blame it on us. STAY AWAY! What a ripe bunch of incompetent ***** I ordered a new internet and TV service package for my home on June 29th. I was given an install date of July 9th. A crazy long time I thought. But I just moved in, was new to the area, had other things to worry about so I took it. Now, after waiting the 10 days for an install, the service person is a no-show. I called support 2 times during the day to see where they were. First, after they missed the 8am-12pm service window they gave me, I was told by the rep to give them a bit more time "sometimes they run late due to difficult installs" I said, Okay, I just wanted to make sure they were coming and was told "Yes they will be there". 3 hours later, still no show. I called again. This rep actually laughed and said "the service windows are just a guide; we have till 5 pm to make it there" What?! I asked again if I was on the schedule and the rep said, "yes sir, I see you right here". The service person never showed! At 5:30 I called customer support yet again to get some answers. This rep finally did some digging into why the appointment was missed. Evidently, the reason they didn't show was that my order that I placed over a week earlier was not fully submitted due to there being a balance on an account of a person who previously lived at my address. Now, when I placed this order, they required my social to do a credit check, so how it's even possible that I can be the person with the old existing balance - they have my social to verify my identity!!! So, Frontier LIED to me TWICE that I was indeed on the schedule for an install, and then, 10 days after initially ordering service they want me to jump through hoops by sending a copy of the deed to my house to some obscure email address to prove I am not the person that used to live here. Bonus Crap, after I send this info, they now can't schedule another install for 5 more days! Extra Mega Bonus Crap, the rep on the phone has the nerve to try and upsell me to other services after I ream him out about what a crappy customer experience this is. Go Away Frontier; You're Drunk! I do not recommend. My WiFi goes out practically every 2 weeks. I've already had the box replaced once. Twice they've been able to fix it over the phone. Now today they have to send out a tech, but of course there's no one available until tomorrow. So I am again without WiFi through no fault of my own. Absolutely the worst customer service imaginable. I don't know how a large company like this can exist today with the amount of disorganization and disconnection in the customer non-service departments. Starting a new service is a nightmare itself. You are forced to call a number and someone in the Philippines will spend a little over an hour trying to upsell and force reading disclosures to you. At the end they will say that they are sending someone and no one will show up. When you call back, there will be no record of your previous call. I recently moved from one house to another. Each home was already connected to Frontier internet service. One had a lower rate, so I asked the customer non-service to disconnect home I am leaving and move the lower rate service to my other house. What resulted is that they disconnected the wrong house. Then it took days in my attempt to reconnect the house I was moving to. Then they created a new account in my name. I still had no service after they disconnected me mistakenly. The earliest appointment was a week out. I found it easier to start service with Spectrum internet before reconnecting to frontier in a house I was already connected for over 3 years! The disconnection processes itself is a nightmare. You get bounced from department to department with no proper hand-off. I must have repeated myself to about 20 different operators. And you still get nothing done! I will never return to Frontier even if they offered my free service. read more

I was a customer for 6+ years, and I recently cancelled my service due to a move. I didn't wanted to use them anymore since I had it I had problems in my home with it. I be told several things over the years and on the end they said I need to upgrade my service, well this didn't work either. Now I was stuck with higher payments and had the same problem. I called so many times and in the end I was jerked around. I was told is fiber optic , maybe, but only to my house. Anything in the house was old cable. So I got lied to. Well my daughter try to cancel the service in December where she was put on hold and sometimes they simply hang up on her. Well I got involved in January and finally got it done, and of course the charge you another month. So I return the equipment asap, and now I got another bill of $50 for restocking fee for refurbishing a unit that's completely out of date and for shipping what I wasn't explained as well. I called today and got the run around from someone in customer service what I don't even believe is in the USA due to the thick accent of both customers reps. That's just another dip in your pocket to jerk you around to say ' we gotcha one more time on your way out'. FRONTIER be ashamed of yourself for treating customer that bad. I was a loyal customer until I tried to bundle my service by adding TV. I have to admit their VOIP phone and internet was stellar. 100 MBPS up/down with little problems. My attempt to get rid of Direct TV and bundle it with Frontier is the reason for my poor review. I spoke with their Customer Service Representative Shafquan (X9477) who strung me out for two days. Then in the middle of my conversation he said he had to get off the phone and call me back, which he did not. After calling the Office Of The President I found out that my neighborhood doesn't support FIOS TV and they try to bundle you with Dish TV. Thus, I went with Spectrum/Comcast for $99 FOR TV/INTERNET/PHONE. No hassles read more

The worst internet installment I've ever encountered. Customer support is horrid. Installation is incomplete yet they closed my case as completed. Cable running across my drive & front yard with no completion date. The installer just left with no instructions or paperwork. So far I've put in 5 calls to Frontier within 24 hrs. Worst customer service on the planet. They obviously have no regard for the customer. Within one years time my internet and tv went down and needed a tech to come to the house. My problem is not that the internet went down, stuff happens, my problem is that they told me both times it would take 5 days before a tech could get to the house. We are paying premium dollars for these services and we are treated like an annoyance. The only reason I have not dropped them this time is that my 91 year old mother-in-law uses the TV and I don't want to change everything up on her. Where to begin.... I was a Verizon Fios customer that is now Fronteer. Was informed when I called to move my service to a new address, service I have had since 1999, that the only thing I had correct in verification was my pin. After explaining to the 3rd sup that I was a former verizon customer did they realize my file needed updating. Finally schedule the install at the new address. Was told the installer would call to let me know they were on their way. Was home the entire appointment time, but no call, no knock, when I called to check they said I was not home and could not gain entry. In the morning my internet was shut off at my current residence that morning without any notice. So no more security camera, or alarms hmmm. Rescheduled install for two days later between 1 and 5... Went to the new home at 11:30. Opened front door and garage and unloaded 2 vehicles. Had lunch delivered. At 4 called to check on installer. Was transferred around the company until 5:15 being told they were still coming, then I was not home when they came. Then it was they came at 2:30 and no one was home. Interesting. My mom and I were I the front yard having a conversation 2:30 the front door of the home was open and garage door was open and had been from 11:30 til 5:30 when I finally left to continue moving items from the rental. No knock on the home, no phone call still no internet. Got my bill today. Still want their money for no service being provided. At one point in the transfer game I asked for a supervisor 15 times and the agent refused. Ask them to reach out to dispatch to check on status. Was told that was not possible, but would send me to tech support. Tech support said we can only help if you have service at the home. Transfer to service. Asked for a supervisor. Transfer to another company. They transfer me back to service. I think the message I am getting is they no longer want my business. If you are not a fronteer customer do yourself a favor don't. The install process sucks. If you have it and move use someone else because transfers suck. read more

The quality of internet was good, but honestly no better than other companies I have used. The issue was with the customer care. I paid an installation fee but was promised a Visa gift card in the mail, which was to offset the price of the installation fee; never received the card. I phoned and was told they had no promotion for a Visa gift card; was LIED to by CS. I kept the service as I had already paid for the install. Over three years later, I moved to Ohio so shut my service off. Then received a bill for $10 for a disconnection fee; ridiculous! The CS staff is not empowered to provide a credit for the disconnection fee . I will NEVER recommend this company and will NEVER use this service again. Use another internet/cable service; there are so many to choose from that provide the same quality of service at a comperable price. I would def give zero stars. Currently on the phone with Frontier for the 5th time in the last three days. I recently relocated and needed my service moved as well. So I called and made and appointment for Friday morning. No call. No show. I called back they told me "due to unforeseen circumstances they could not come out. I waited from 8am to 12pm. They set another appointment for Monday (today) NO CALL NO SHOW. I waited again from 8am to 12. So now I'm currently on hold waiting to make yet ANOTHER appointment. I have talked to five different people so far in this one call. NOBODY AT FRONTIER KNOWS WTF THEY ARE DOING. They ALL seem new, untrained and unprofessional. Including the "supervisors" who I asked to speak with. I have now been on hold for 15 mins just to make an appointment that was originally set for last Friday. I am livid. I just cancelled my service at my house in Hudson Florida. I called twice to get my promotional discounts extended and was told by twice that it would be done. Still received a bill for full price. Called third time and told the customer service that I wanted to disconnect because of poor customer service. She looked up account and said nothing was done from my two previous callers. I asked to disconnect and pro-rate the bill she said she could not do that so I am stuck paying another month of full price. To whom it may concern, I had service with FRONTIER Communications. I had cable ,internet & phone for 1 1/2 years during that time they deleted channels , and the WIFI sucked ,but the bill did not go down. On Feb.3,2021 I called to cancel my services, I was told to wait till Feb.25, I said no and to cancel my service. On Feb.3, 2021 I went with Spectrum with cable, internet & phone. For over a month between Spectrum and myself making numerous calls to Frontier to please release my phone number Frontier refused to release it , ( I had that phone number for over 30 years) So on March 5, 2021 A month later Spectrum changed my number. I think Frontier likes to play games and is very unprofessional. they did not cancel my services in Feb. so now they say I owe for march. I had canceled a month early. WHO ever is running the company should be fired. read more
