We spend $104.99 per month for Frontier internet and want to warn you of their fraudulent business practices that I will be reporting to the FTC.gov and the better business bureau. We haven't subscribed to cable or a scam line aka landline in 20 years so that cost is for internet only. 11 days ago, after returning from vacation, our internet was out. We called Frontier about 10 times plus 2-3 online chats and experienced the WORST customer service I've ever had. We were told multiple times that they can "see the signal" from their computer and it is going to our house. Of course they couldn't get a service technical person to assist but forced us to go through ridiculous time consuming restarts, hard restarts, resets to factory settings. We also changed out cords. They blamed our Orbi mesh system so we bought a new $400+ system but it still didn't work. Then we had to add mobile wifi for $45 to use as a stop gap while waiting for Frontier to get their act together since we work from home. I called once again and that time their story changed to we needed to add an additional professional technical service called My Premium Tech Pro for an additional 33 cents per day so we added that. We called them and they could not schedule us to come out for 4 more days but did say the problem was likely an old Frontier router that was incompatible with the latest firmware update they pushed out. Yesterday, my husband noticed there was a Frontier van parked next door so he went and talked to the guy. Apparently the neighbor was without internet for the exact same time period as us...hmmm...what a coincidence. Luckily the guy came by after changing the neighbors router because both ours and my neighbors routers were so old that when Frontier pushed out a new firmware update, it caused ours to no longer work. Frontier wasted our time, treated us like garbage but oh they offered us a $3 credit. I'll be sure to plan my next vacation with that money. read more

We had a home fire and all of our mechanicals were a loss. We called Frontier and they said no problem we will suspend your service. 9 months into our re-build we receive a bill from Frontier. My wife called and was told we are so sorry we will take care of this and suspended the account again. 30 days later we received another bill. Granted we have had NO use of internet because there are no lines to our home. So after two hours my wife gave up and paid for service we never received. Just so we could schedule to have it restored. Call and they say it is on hold because they don't show payment. She spoke to a 'supervisor' who said she would call her back no call. Then the lady I was speaking to was so incredibly PILLED OUT I had to wake her ass up twice when she wasn't answering my questions. After being on and off hold for almost an hour, I finally got the "discounted" price of $172. I cancelled service the next day and switched to Spectrum. I called Frontier and asked about a refund for the money I had paid for the next 30 days. Again, I was on and off hold for almost an hour and was transferred to numerous people. I was finally told that Spectrum had a 30-day money back guarantee in which I could cancel their service and continue with Frontier, and that Frontier would beat Spectrum's monthly fee ($127 a month for two years). I then received a bill for $33.04 from Frontier. When I called to inquire about the bill, I was told it was for TV fees. Again, I was on and off hold for almost an hour before finally being told that the $33.04 was for fees and taxes associated with my closed account. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH FRONTIER!!!! Avoid Frontier if you ever expect to terminate service. You simply cannot terminate without speaking with a customer "service" representative. The man with whom I spoke on Friday would not let me cancel - he kept asking questions which were designed to show that Frontier could provide less expensive service. I repeatedly stated that I had already switched to Spectrum for a far less expensive rate and far less money and was not interested in discussing my decision. He took delight in aggravating me and would not connect me with his superisor. Finally, I hung up and after three calls was able to reach a different representative. I told this one I wanted to cancel because I had moved out of the country. She also insisted on running through a script before letting me cancel. What an ordeal. This is not the only problem I have had with Frontier -- don't even get me started on how awful they were when I switched service from one address to another in the same city (they mistakenly billed me for two separate accounts and made it very difficult to obtain a refund for the double biling). When I explained this, they sent out a technician who replaced my equipment, only to have my internet get worse! My experience: On October 5, 2024, Florida was hit by Hurricane Milton and my Frontier service was lost. I made attempts everyday to contact them, all I received was a pre-recordered message that due to the storm, no agents are available, try back another time which I did everyday for 2.5 weeks. I even drove to their offices on 3 occasions and the lights were out. Finally after 3 weeks I reached an agent (yes I'm diligent), the agent apologized for the inconvenience and told me my service is working, I responded by saying it's not, please have someone come check it, they responded it might be a few weeks due to the storm cleanup so I told them to cancel my service and I returned my equipment. Two months later I receive a bill for the month of October when I had no service. I disputed the charge (why pay for something I didn't get), they explained, read the "terms & conditions", which state I'm responsible to pay for the entire month even if I had service for ONE minute of the month. Frontier put me into collections for service I never received, further disputed with Eastern Account Systems (another sleazy operation), they spoke to Frontier which told EAS they want their $87, no credit for not having service. Folks, whatever you do, DO NOT USE FRONTIER, there's a reason they have a One Star rating with the worst customer reviews, pick any other carrier, just do not use FRONTIER. How can you charge for a service that was never rendered? If I don't perform a service as a provider then I cannot receive payment. It should be just as easy to cancel the same way when you signed up. I am very dissatisfied with Frontier! I lost my service on 6/28 after we had a power outage in the area. I spoke with tech support and they determined that they could not detect my router so they scheduled me with their first apt for 7/8 between 1;00 PM to 5:00 pm. 11 days seems a bit excessive for a wait time but I waited . then yesterday when my apt time came I received a text message at 4:01pm saying they are aware that the tech hasn't arrived yet and will send a text when on the way at 5:58 PM I received a text message rescheduling my apt to 7/15 between 1:00 to 5:00 PM. I contacted Support again and was told that was the soonest apt time and that apparently they are having personal issues in the Radnor Oh area. I have been in customer support for over 30 years and i must say this is the worst experience I have ever experienced and to be with out service for at least 18 days with no help at a resolution is very disappointing. Don't switch because of the 'fiber' speeds or pricing! I switched from Spectrum to these idiots last year. When they installed they tore up my front yard and left huge tree roots exposed and sticking out of the ground. After a few months they blocked VPN access and require premium support at a monthly cost in order to fix it. That is right, they CHARGE for support. Anyone can unplug a router and reset it, but Frontier will BLACKMAIL you into paying extra JUST TO ACCESS THE INTERNET SAFELY. UPDATE: My iPhone and VPN cannot access the internet when connected to the Frontier WIFI because they do not allow encrypted DNS on the network. It came in after 2 days. Today the router stopped working, they said it would be 2 to 3 business days before I received a new one. The whole of Frontier Fios is consisting of horrible service, predatory pricing, and bad connectivity. During installation, my outer and inner walls were damaged. After my second week in my first month of no internet connection, I was told that it was my fault and a service tech would come out and charge me 150 dollars to see if I damaged my equipment. I canceled the service three weeks into starting it and git billed for two more months. I returned the equipment the day after canceling and got a bill for 321 dollars for unreturned equipment. I told customer service the UPS tracking code and was told my equipment was still in use. I had to turn off Auto Pay and remove my debit card on file to stop the charges. Although I switched 2 months ago I didn't cancel my account with them until today as I use my internet connection for my job and I needed to make sure my new provider was reliable. What a rip off company. I was I NY for six months. my frontier service is underground at my fl home. When I returned to fl my internet was not working. They sent a repair man. He found my cable had been severed outside of my fence on city property. This cable is only buried two inches below the ground not even in a piece of conduit. When asked if I would have to pay for the repair I was told no. So permission was given to repair the cable. Four months later I get a bill from some outside company CMR claims stating I owed 582 dollars for the repair. I explained I was not home and the damage was outside of my fence and I was told they would look into it. it took months for someone to get back to me and it was a different person. I told him the same thing he told me if I proved I was not in fl he could take care of it. He calls back days later and said they don't care where the damage occurred or if I was there I am still responsible. Then he said I could probably pay at a discount. (This had already been installed. My wife was on the phone for 45 min and had to beg to cancel the old service in her name. They would not Allow her to. I called to cancel the new service with a similar experience where the frontier service person would not cancel unless I explained the situation with my wife. It was just word games and classic manipulation. I recorded the call after the attendant, I was on the phone, with told me this...."I think you're gonna want me to understand since I'm the one in control what you want"....it was a response to me asking if it was a requirement he understands to cancel....once recording started, he was notified and began to backpedal and try to explain how I had changed my tune, if anything I was more upset at that point. Either way, I had to ask the guy 9 times to stop asking about my wife and he just gaslit me about how I brought it up. I switched to frontier less than 3 months ago. we have had spotty internet (especially with it being fiber optic). my internet went out on 3-9-24...my wife and I both work from home and the earliest appointment was 3-12-24 between 8am-12pm. Customer service on 3-10-24 said that they raised my ticket to emergent and will be notified of my update but I never was notified. After multiple calls and "chats" I got no resolutions other than to wait for my original appointment! Here I am on 3-12-24 at 1:30... the technician still hasn't come, the app hasn't updated anything, and I keep getting the same line from customer service about them 100% coming out. (But I heard the same thing about them being here 100% between 8am-12pm). Now we have scrambled and had to take off work multiple days due to our internet outage and the only option is to wait. Horrific customer service, customer service can't speak with the service department in any way. It's a mess and no one has been able to forward me to anyone with any power to rectify the situation, hold anyone accountable, or provide anything other than an apology For the inconvenience. Please do better in the future.... FRONTIER JUST DOESN'T CARE - FCC Complaint JUSTIFIED 11/27/24 - Internet went out around 1:30 pm. I was notified of this outage because my cameras went off line. I went on the Frontier app to check for outages and it said there was a service outage detected in my area and that service would be restored in less than 8 hours (this same message remained on the app up until the day I cancelled my service (13 days), it is not a factual/accurate statement and needs to either be removed or updated to reflect accurate information) I called Frontier around 7:30 pm on 11/27 to check the status of the outage as internet service had not yet been restored and was told that I would need a technician to come out to my house as it appeared to be an issue with my equipment, again the Frontier app stated it was an outage in my area that would be fixed in less than 8 hours, nowhere on the app did it indicate I needed to schedule a tech to come to my residence. At no time did I receive any notification from Frontier about this outage, I had to reach out to Frontier. 11/27/24 - Ticket #6772381 was scheduled for December 3 between 8 - 10 am, 6 days!!! I had to wait 6 days to get service, which is completely unacceptable when Spectrum and WOW can both get service techs out within 24 hours!!!. I received a confirmation via text message of Ticket #6772381 on 11/27, 12/1, 12/2 and a notification that the service tech was on the way on 12/3. Service tech arrived on 12/3 and had my internet up by 10:30 am. 12/4/24 - Internet went down again after being restored for 32 hours!!! Went back on the Frontier app and once again it gave the same complete lie of a message "SERVICE OUTAGE DETECTED IN YOUR AREA" EXPECTED TO BE RESOTRED IN LESS THAN 8 HOURS. I called Frontier to schedule yet another tech visit. This time they were able to schedule me for 12/7 between 1 - 5 pm or so they said - Ticket #6783235. Ticket #6783235 was the ticket # for 12/7. I did not receive any confirmations via text on this ticket and that concerned me considering how many text confirmations I had received with my first ticket. When I checked the app it still only showed my original Ticket #6772381 that was completed/closed. The new Ticket #6783235 was not showing up on the app and I could not pull it up doing a search on the Frontier web site. 12/5/24 - I called Frontier back to confirm Ticket #6783235 was actually entered correctly on their end and a tech was actually scheduled for 12/7 and was assured it was and I would have service that day. I still could not see the ticket on the Frontier app 12/6 - I called Frontier again as I still could not see Ticket #6783235 on the Frontier app and now Ticket #6772381 from my December 3rd service was showing open again (my original ticket that had been completed and closed three days earlier). The customer service rep assured me Ticket #6783235 was open and that a service technician would be at my home 12/7/24 between 1-5 pm. 12/7 - I called Frontier around noon to confirm once again that a tech would be coming that day as I still had not received any confirmations via text of this appointment/Service Ticket #6783235. With my original ticket from December 3rd I had already received 3-4 text confirmations by this time. Once again, I was assured, even laughed at for my worry/concern about my appointment that day. 12/7 - 5 pm came and went and no tech!!! No call, nothing!!! I called Frontier back only to be told that Ticket #6783235 had been cancelled!!! Complete rage ensued!!! Then the customer service rep could not figure out how to get a new ticket entered to get a tech out to me. She could not get my original Ticket #6772381 from December 3rd cleared off my account to enter a new ticket and told me she would need to reboot her system and call me back. A couple of hours later she called back telling me that neither he nor her supervisor were able to figure out how to cancel my original ticket from December 3rd and schedule a new ticket for me and that was it, end of call, end of discussion. So I was still without internet and over the whole situation!! I did not hear from anyone again!! I called 12/10 and cancelled my Frontier service and switched back to Spectrum who was able to come to my house the next day with equipment and get me up and running with no issues. While Spectrum may be more expensive, at least I know I can count on quick service turnaround times and reps that are actually located in my area. I knew there was an issue when I was not receiving confirmation texts of my second ticket but not one customer service rep seemed to put it together to care enough to see it as an issue. If Frontier's calls are recorded for training then my calls need to be used for that purpose and each person I spoke with needs to be retrained and reprimanded for their poor customer service in this situation. I had a service outage because of Hurricane Milton. I was not getting the information on restoration so my wife contacted the CEO's office and I got an immediate response. Internet service was restored and I learned why it had gone down. Their backup generator failed and they had it restored in less than a day. I recently switched to frontier fiber internet. Installer came out Friday to install, said there was an outage and couldn't install today. Set me up for a new date to install. Came back 1 hour later and said the outage is fixed and he can install. Installed everything into my house and said it was still out. Comes back the next day Saturday and tells my husband they gave your ticket to someone else but he is trying to get it back. He then completes the install and says everything is good. Meanwhile I am getting calls to confirm install appointment. So I call on Monday and ask why they keep saying I have an install appointment when everything has already been installed. They say I have a duplicate ticket and they will cancel it. 4 days later I wake up to no internet, proceed to call frontier. After being on the phone for 2 hours and talking to 4 different departments, I was told that my account is a prospect account and installation was never completed so everything was cancelled. They also tell me they have to send another installer out to install new equipment. I asked why they can't bypass the install and move my account from a prospect account to an active one and attach the router that I have already to my account. I'm sure it has a number on it that I could give them that they could activate it but they tell me no. So now I'm leaving on vacation 2 hours from this whole ordeal and now don't have internet to work any of my security cameras while I'm gone. Also!! Everyone I talked to at frontier was very nice but you could tell everyone reads from a script, no one talks to you like an actual human. No one can give me to someone that can actually help my situation and no one offers any compensation for their mess up! I also contacted the installer through text message since I still had his number. He says he completed the ticket and he's "done talking and to stop messaging him". I was not rude and proceeded to tell him what transpired from him not closing a ticket since it was given to a different installer and now I am left with no service for a week until they can do the whole process over again. So my only PRO is for the 4 days the service was working, it was way faster than Xfinity. Also with the whole home WiFi I added on, we noticed a huge difference with the signal strength in the upstairs rooms and outside. Also the installer was very nice but I feel he dropped the ball on completion and making sure they knew that my ticket that was transferred was actually completed. read more

Frontier is the worst internet provider I have experience. They have outages that they are not aware of. They sent a technician during the installation process that was not able to connect my internet. I have had multiple outages within just 2 month. I will be switching as I need a reliable connection. They market themselves as the best and reliable but they are only reliable for internet to be down. I urge any customer not to use frontier as their outages last days. read more

Frontier Internet is actively trying to rid itself of their TV customers. It is not a secret anymore. They do not want us. Frontier just wants to sell basic internet service and leave the rest to others. We loyal customers who have been with them for many years are getting the bums rush. But instead of just saying they want us gone, they are pulling services in very sneaky ways. Over the last few months, service has plummeted in reliability to the point that they don't even try to fix it anymore, just continue to send the bills. Last month, cable channels started to break up, picture and sound, they eventually fixed that but now the problems are back. Last week all on-demand services stopped working, again no real effort to fix it. No break on the bills though. I was given a phone number by the last tech to visit here so I could check on the repair status... but when I try to call it, it goes to a dead line. I would advise all Frontier techs to not come to our neighborhood anymore or it could be very, very "unhealthy" to say the least. I would give zero stars if I could. My router stopped working and took three days to get someone to come out and replace it. Then the new one went out three weeks later. And now they're telling me I will be without service for 4 days. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told there was not one available. I can see why there are currently three class action lawsuits against them and are selling out to Verizon. read more
