Don't trust frontier motors of Pensacola especially the salesman Ron. We were shopping for cars in Florida even though we are from the northeast because we wanted to get a car that was not rusty. So, we put a lot of trust in Ron to help us pick the right vehicle. We were particularly concerned with whether the car sustained any mechanical damage from the front and fender bender that it was in. He repeatedly reassured us that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the engine and that it was merely bodywork. Hundreds of miles and dollars later, we arrived at frontier motors and within the first few minutes of our test drive found paperwork showing that the car had had the transmission replaced, and that mechanical damage was sustained during the accident. When we confronted Ron about this, he threw a childish tantrum. We talked to the manager, and he was unwilling to admit his wrong or to make it right for tricking us into traveling hundreds of miles for a dud car. These people are scammers even though they pretend that they are good business people. Don't trust them. read more

Four months ago on January 2025, Bob Tyler Toyota told me that "Frontier Motors" handles diminished value claims after vehicle repairs and claimed they were the only ones in the area offering this service. I called Frontier Motors that exact day to confirm if they offer this service and they said they do and would write the diminished value estimate for when my repairs is done. When I got my vehicle back from repairs I drove down there and I spoke with one of their employees, I was told they don't provide diminished value assessments and that I wouldn't get any compensation for my vehicle's reduced value, since the worker told me that people buy cars with accident histories all the time. Honestly, visiting the dealership was a waste of my time and gas. I ended up getting my estimate written up by the insurance adjuster and receiving a diminished value check weeks later from the insurance company, but that's not the outcome I was expecting or hoping for by this "dealership". I've heard good things about this dealership, but my experience was extremely disappointing and did not meet my expectations. And frankly, I get the feeling that if I were to buy a car from them, they'd be quick to help me and do whatever it takes to get me what I want. It's frustrating to see such inconsistency. read more

This can not wait, It's Monday morning and I have got to get this out there posthaste. Friday morning, it was drizzling rain. After scouring the internet for a couple months, I finally found a vehicle that I was interested in at Frontier Motors. Quick Google maps and I arrived being greeted by Joel Williams standing there with an umbrella. I told him what I was interested we poked around a bit, (they have a ton of vehicles) on the lot... and lo and behold, it was exactly what I was looking for. Fast forward - we went inside, and he poked around a bunch of papers. I took the vehicle tor a substantial test drive and returned after lunch. He handed me a paper with the purchase price on it. We haggled a bit and by 2:00 PM I was the proud owner of the immaculate truck that I had found on the Web. Wait though, the best is yet to come! The transaction was laid back, no BS, no hard sell on extended warranties, etc. etc. etc. Now Frontier Motors might not look like much on the outside and the inside is far from palatial, however the best was yet to come. Within the hour stuff was moved from my trade in the the vehicle, checks were written and hats off to John and Brian for their easy, hassle-free approach to what otherwise could be an activity so painful it can only be compared to passing a kidney stone. But, the best part, as I mentioned is yet to come. When it was all said and done I was presented with a homemade strudel! So good, I am considering going back and buying another vehicle just for the pastry! Job well done! Ten stars. read more

What a waste of time dealing with these guys. They contacted us about our used vehicle. They saw that we had listed the vehicle for said price on FB Marketplace. We never contacted them. They contacted us and promised a price that we could live with. Guess what happens next? They asked us to COME TO THE DEALERSHIP. At that point, they saw a perfectly clean, low milage vehicle with only a few flaws, flaws that were documented in the listing. After driving the vehicle, these folks started back-tracking on the price, calling out potential phantom "issues" that we knew were BS, because we had the items in question serviced less than 8 months ago. Bottom line, they thought they could lure my wife in to the dealership and not honor the price originally quoted. Bought a car for my wife. Within three weeks it had a major transmission problem. They sent it to a transmission shop for repairs. I asked the salesman about a loaner car. He told me to "rent a car, keep it under $70 a day and they would reimburse me". The repairs took six weeks. When it was ready, we picked it up from the transmission shop, returned the rental car and drove to the dealership. I gave the rental car receipt to our salesman ($2642.31). He talked to the Financial Manager, came back and said he would call me when the check was ready. After about five weeks I had heard nothing so I drove to the dealership and talked to the Financial Manager. He told me that the warranty company would only pay $175 but that he was "working on it" and I would have to talk to the General Manager, Todd Gordon. I talked to Todd and he said he would call me in a couple of days. Three days later he called me and said he had talked to the owner and they would pay half of the bill. I reminded him that I was told by his salesman that I would reimbursed. He said "I don't have to give you anything. That's the offer, take it or leave it." So if you choose to deal with Frontier Motors make sure to get EVERYTHING in writing since the owner and managers don't seem to have the integrity to stand behind their people. UPDATE 5/20/2023 After several go rounds with the BBB, Frontier finally agreed 'to reimburse me the full amount of the rental car bill. read more

While I have not made a purchase at this dealership, they have a huge inventory and that is what made me initially stop in to have a close look. I was welcomed not by a pushy salesman, but by someone doing some maintenance work on a vehicle nearby. He explained that he was a mechanic for the dealership and knows more details about the "insides" of the vehicles than the sales folks do. That in mind, he generously offered info on the vehicles I was checking into. He also explained twice that he wasn't there to sell, that this was the sales peoples' jobs. He just wanted to help me with as much information as possible. Great guy & great way to operate your chain of communication. A second note- I returned to look closer into & test drive a Nissan truck. Not only did the same guy remember me by name, he offered me cold bottled water since it was a particularly hot June Day. Our most dependable vehicle was totaled by a careless driver and we desperately needed a new car ASAP to take its place. We went to several other dealerships but they all fell short on what we were looking for as well as price range and warranty offerings. Our last stop was Frontier Motors which was recommended to us by a family member who had an amazing and super accommodating experience with purchasing her vehicle from them, and we were hoping to have the same experience. This is the best place to buy a car. Period. These people are honest, forthright and stand by their word. In 2015, I bought a 2009 Hyundai Genesis from saleswoman Robin Menlo. Robin knows her cars and she is a natural when it comes to buyer intuition. She knew what I liked and sold me that car. She encouraged me to buy the extended catastrophic warranty and I'm so glad I did. See, I live in California and at the time, I was in FL to care for my uncle. I bought the car and returned to Cali. This year (2017), I had an issue with the car. Being a single female, I was weary when the Cali dealer quoted me $7800 repair. I called Robin. She immediately got on the horn to the dealer AND the warranty company. This woman went above and beyond the call of duty for me, I now live in California and bought a car from her over two years ago. Long story short, my car was fixed @the CA Hyundai dealership only because Robin & her boss, Frontier manager Darrell, communicated with the warranty company ON MY BEHALF to get the problems resolved. We nailed Folsom Lake Hyundai for fraud (only 2 camshafts needed repair, not the four they were charging) and got to the root of the problem (the throttle body) so my car runs perfectly now. We were greeted in a prompt and professional manner and Matt F, our salesman, really helped us work within the budget that we set out for him. My wife and I were looking for a new vehicle for her for about a week. We had gone to Alfa Romeo of Pensacola and looked at an Audi and when we sat down to talk price they were not willing to negotiate price. They told us that our price wasn't going to happen and we're not willing to move off the price for the vehicle we had looked at. My wife then went to Sandy Sansing Nissan during the week to look at a Nisan Maxima Platinum. The dealer there closed the windows after she rolled them down and told her it was too bright and despite her interest in the car she had just drove continued to try to show her SUVs and ignored what she had told him she wanted in her next car. This morning we woke up and went to Audi of Pensacola and the Audi she wanted to look at was being drove off the lot. We went to Sandy Sansing to look at the Maxima again and they were closed. We were feeling a bit disappointed and I brought up going over to Frontier Motors to look at a Lexus that was on the lot. We pulled up and we were greeted by Jake Herndon. We told him which car we were there to look at and he took us right to it. After my wife looked at it she decided that wasn't the right car. Jake took the time to listen to exactly what she wanted. He suggested the 2019 Genesis. We were both a bit apprehensive but took it for a test drive and were blown away with how it handled. It checked off all the blocks but we knew the list price was a bit more than we planned on spending. We came back and sat with Jake. He went to get final numbers for us and came back. We were a bit off of what we were comfortable with. We told him what our final number was and we really feel that he listened to us. He left and came back with a price that was extremely close to ours. He left my wife and I to talk it over. When he came back we shook on the deal. The people at Frontier Motors made us feel like family. They listened to us and gave us an amazing deal on an amazing car. We will be back for our next vehicle purchase. I purchased a 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport exactly one week ago. It was used, 7k miles, an amazing price. A few days ago, my fiancée backed into a fence post and left a nasty gouge on the trim piece above the tire, so I called a body shop to replace it. No big deal. Upon the bumper being removed, it was very obvious the vehicle was in an accident that was not on the CarFax, and was definitely covered up with a simple coat of paint, and a fresh bumper. Nobody would have known, since inspections generally don't involve a complete removal of a bumper. I called Frontier to let them know what was discovered, and the sales rep discussed the issue with her managers and the owner of the dealership, who agreed to cover the cost to repair the damage that was discovered. I plan on upgrading my own car in a year or so, and I'm absolutely 100 percent going to be returning to this dealership to purchase one. The picture attached is the damage discovered, and when zoomed in, you can see the rust that has built up, the crumpled metal, the blind spot sensor out of place, and very obvious brush-strokes from where it was hand painted with white paint. read more

My brother in law, who was on hospice at the time and my100% disabled sister were sold a 2015 Ford Flex on 12/30/2019 by this used car lot. The car was driven one time and broke down. My brother- in- law died 2 weeks after purchasing the vehicle, 1-12-20, never drove it. He bought the vehicle so his wife's caregiver could have dependable transportation after he died. The one time needed to transport his disabled wife, 1-22-20,the vehicle broke down. As the family of his wife, our sister, we have asked the used car lot to refund the purchase price, less the taxes and title. The Ford Flex was less than 30 days and driven once, 40 miles. Response from the general manager, Todd Gordon was " he could buy it back, less his profit, taxes and title.. and he didn't even have to do that"! Next response was, " you can come get the vehicle, fix it yourself and then sell it"! We have reached out to the owners of Frontier Motors, Ivan and Jenny Streckel via emails and phone calls and, as of 1-29-20, no response, not a peep. If you are a military vet, a disabled military vet, an American, do not do business with Frontier Motors. BTW, by brother in law had done business with them in the past and they knew him. This dealer advertised used truck with no problems, however the day before I went to pick the truck up the owner advised me that the truck needed a $2,000 repair and would sell the truck to me as long as I paid $500 of the repair . the dealer admitted that the problem was noted in their paperwork, however professed that he and the salesman did not know about the problem when we were negotiating the price. The salesman was quick to tell me that he could have cleared the check engine light of the problem and sold it to me broken. Apparently wishing me to be thankful that they did not do this. This situation wasted a great deal of time, effort, and money and I would advise everyone to avoid this dealer if possible. read more

Also, I had a special situation where I'm "post-bankruptcy" so I wasn't sure what kind of deal, if anything, I would be able to get. Corey came out and was the first to greet me-he is very quiet and soft-spoken, very easy going and polite. He gave me a list of their inventory so I could go through and circle ones in my price range that I was interested in. I narrowed my choices down to 3, test drove 2, and made my choice. I was very surprised that I was able to get financing, but I was, and actually at about the same payment that I had paid before on a previous car; however, said previous car was a "Base Model". No auto anything, not even a CD player.....and it was a 2015! THIS car though.....the car I ended up getting-is a 2012 Camry with ALL the bells and whistles! I mean backup camera, leather seats, CD, navigation, auto everything-soooo much nicer! I'm very pleased with my first experience with Frontier Motors-and VERY thankful that they were able to take care of me so I didn't have to go from dealer to dealer, and they didn't run a ton of credit checks to different lenders either. 1 credit check, first time approval! BEWARE!! I was contacted about a car I'd posted on Craigslist by a "broker" for Frontier. The broker offered me a little less than I had the car listed for, we went through a verification process where details about the car were discussed, and a new offered was established for the car. I was happy with the offer so I drove the car (with my 4 month old and my mom following in another car) from Panama City to sell the car. We got to the dealership and they do a quick check of the car. They lady came back out rudely and said they were no longer interested. After they contacted me, we had a deal over the phone and they understood I was driving from PC in good faith?!? I understand that the dealership has to make money and doesn't need to make a bad deal but they handled the situation very poorly. I won't ever do business with this company again. read more
