Gavin, our service advisor was fantastic. This was an unplanned trip due to a family illness and our brakes needed service - badly. The calipers for the Ascent are a fairly special part so he had to put in some work to get it delivered and installed for us. The cost, for a complete brake job on a newer car is, like everything else, not too cheap. That said , I think the charge was in line with what I would have expected to pay back home. While Gavin was our main contact, I did have interactions with other members of the Service Department and they were all extremely helpful and considerate. If we were to move here, Anderson would be "my" Subaru Dealer. Excellent service. read more

I really abhore people that only go to the dealership for vehicle maintenance/service- HOWEVER, I am now one of those people bc the service here is nothing short of amazing. I went in for an oil change and a general health check of the car with one known issue. They accepted me arriving 5-10 minutes early without issue. They processed me so quick, I was able to bring my dog, get some work done, have a snack, and just generally enjoy the atmosphere. I planned to be on site for like 1-2 hours and while I didn't time my visit, it felt like it was maybe 30-45 minutes. read more

My 80-year-old mother was taken advantage of at this dealership by a salesman named Adam and the sales manager. She went in looking for a vehicle she could safely drive and clearly explained the amount she could afford. Instead of respecting that, they pressured her into purchasing a car that was more than $10,000 over the budget she told them she had. My sister had been helping her look at cars a couple days before, but Adam repeatedly told my mother that she didn't need her children there and didn't need their help. Looking back, this was a major red flag. After bringing the car home, my mother realized she could not safely drive it. She was devastated and spent the entire night crying. The very next day she returned to the dealership hoping to undo the purchase. Instead of helping her, the only option they gave her was to buy a different vehicle right then, putting her under even more pressure. They also had her trade in her previous car and lowballed her significantly, even though she already had a written quote from another dealership offering more for the same vehicle. Watching an elderly person be pressured, dismissed, and pushed into a financial decision she clearly wasn't comfortable with is extremely upsetting. Dealerships should be helping customers -- especially seniors -- make safe and affordable decisions, not pressuring them into something they cannot afford or drive. I strongly urge others to bring someone with them and be extremely cautious when dealing with this dealership. read more

Zero/0 "service" rating. Unprofessional, unprincipled, unconscionable level of shenanigans & inconsideration for the time, effort, & PROPERTY of the customer. My engagement involved a legally Required Recall liability issue with my model of automobile due to a manufacturing error. Despite a scheduled appointment they showed NO interest in performing corrective "servicing" of Subaru's ERROR in a remotely responsible amount of time along with NO COMMUNICATION in explaining their "service" ineptness. I had to call them to demand my auto back after 48 hrs & again after 72 hrs during which nothing that they are legally required to repair as well as fully discussed prior to & subsequent to auto drop off (the night prior to my appointment), had been addressed. My only down side is that the Subaru is a highly touted car but this one only had 153,000 miles on it and needed a completely new transmission. New hatch lift arms, new struts , I have driven another brand and am heading into 200,000 miles with just upkeep. Service cannot be done at any mechanic just a dealer. My wife received a call from Nick at Anderson Subaru and then emailed a flyer about a lease with the Subaru Trade Up Program specifically tailored for our current Subaru. After discussing it we went to the dealership to speak with Nick. He showed us a vehicle and after discussing it we told him we'd like to get to work making the deal happen. First red flag: he required my wife to sign a non-disclosure agreement before he could give us real numbers, so we wouldn't use the numbers to shop around to other Subaru dealers. Second red flag: before we got to any actual numbers, his sales manager sent him back to us to let us know that Subaru always requires money down on any lease, in our case $1,800. The flyer specifically stated $0 down, $6,890.58 cash back, $0 due at inception. We immediately declined further discussion and walked away. We love our Subaru but feel like this particular dealership uses shady tactics. read more

Unfortunately bought a used ascent, the maintenance light updates were not activated , ie no for warning of a needed oil change, air conditioner doesn't cool enough, ascent has spastic shifting intermittently. Couldn't get my fabs looked at during a scheduled recall visit, 1 fab won't open my door when standing next to the vehicle. Couldn't get freon checked either. I didn't get a response from a text I replied to asking how I like my ascent. My response was not favorable. read more

Anderson Subaru is a 3 hour trip (one way) and it was worth every minute of that drive. It all started a few weeks ago while casually looking online that I found "my car". I knew the minute I saw it that I had to have it. I found a similar one at the local dealership where I live and inquired about it online. The salesperson I was put in contact with seemed a little cocky and arrogant and not really interested in dealing with the in's & out's unless I came to the dealership. Needless to say I turned my attention back to Anderson Subaru and was connected with Justin. In the short time it took me to come back to Anderson, "my car" had already been sold. I was heartbroken and even though they had many other beautiful cars on the lot I only had eyes for the one that sold. That's when Justin said (figuratively) "hold my beer". He got together with Paul and they located another one exactly like I had my heart set on. Not only did they find my car, they handled almost the entire transaction via text, email and phone.... even the trade-in value, which was not only a fair value but more than the local dealership. Once my car arrived at Anderson Subaru, Paul called me and got some last minute details squared away so he could finish the paperwork. The very next day we made the 3 hour trip to Pensacola and we were greeted with open arms by Evan as soon as we arrived. Evan and Glen had us in and out in just over an hour. And Paul checked in before we left to make sure we were happy. Every single person we dealt with at Anderson Subaru was personable, knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I was contacted by Yelp and then talked to the service manager they seemed genuinely upset about this and stumped as how to happen. Will update for actual work as I told them my next service I would give them a chance. I called in June to make an appointment for my Subaru we were moving from Arizona to the area. I needed to have my car serviced before returning to Arizona as 9f today 9/9 that call has not been returned. When I returned to Florida I dismissed it as a fluke and called again in August this time I hung up after being put on hold for over 10 mins. I ended up going to Fort Walton to have my car serviced, I was very happy there. I was in the market for the new Ascent Touring, I used USAA's car buying service and it led me to the dealership. I was in the market for an Ascent Touring. The good: -The internet manager Greg and sales rep were nice, but nice and working hard to make a sale is relative. The bad: -These folks do not budge off MSRP. -The internet guy and sales guy were already talking about extended warranty even before the test drive. Seriously? WOW! That's a first in all my years of car buying. -These guys use USAA's car buying service to get people in the door but don't offer competitive deals. Bottom line, my experiences here were concurrent with all the other bad reviews on here. I always try to give local businesses the benefit of the doubt, especially as a veteran trying to support a business that has vets in there. But ultimately, I was thoroughly disappointed and disgusted. Kennesaw Subaru in Georgia offered me $6k less for the same vehicle that had to be factory ordered. Guess where I went? Tip for other consumers: Get offers from the all dealers in Atlanta and one from Tallahassee before making a decision. read more

I am probably the easiest customer anyone can deal with, when I'm buying a car, I spend months researching car brands, models, options. I build various set ups and when I finally contact a dealer I know this is the brand I want, the model I want, and the options I want. All you have to do is take my money, and hand me keys and a receipt. I live in Panama City, and have no Subaru dealer, so I dealt with the one in Fort Walton Beach first, and they had no interest in selling me what I wanted, they just wanted to get rid of their most expensive versions, even if it wasn't even any of the colors I asked for. So I left. Now Anderson's internet salesman (his name escapes me) was REALLY good. He found a car at another dealer that was right in my specs and colors, and we began setting it up to get a dealer transfer. I had informed him that I was a cash buyer, and I knew what the price would be, and I was making no effort to have them reduce the price for me at all. I wasn't going to try to pull invoice prices, or anything like that... dealers are businesses, and deserve to make some money. So he says "You need to talk to Paul, he's our finance manager"... I asked why I had to talk to the finance department when I was paying cash, and he said "Paul just figures out the final price". Now Paul might be the nicest fellow in the world when he's not on the clock, but when he's working with a customer trying to hand a business cash money for a $23,500 car, he becomes a mixture of the biggest condescending jerk in the world, and a Nigerian prince on the internet. So this $23,500 Crosstrek (Actually less, the dealer they were getting it from had that price up with "Click here to see the sale price" button), and his prices he returned to me with out the door, was over $29,500, or I could get an extended warranty and it would be over $31,500. For a $23,500 car. Now I have bought new cars in the past, and I understand that there's the taxes, and tag transfer fees, and doc fees, etc... but I've never had them come up to almost a 35% price increase from the sticker before. So I said "How does a car go up that much in price out the door?" And he just did this heavy over dramatic sigh, and said "See that's what's wrong with customers, they never understand taxes and fees" So I said, "Then would you explain them to me? Make me understand" and he acted like I not only asked for nuclear launch codes, but knew that I would be too dumb to understand the codes if he told me. So since it became obvious that he wasn't going to give a fair deal, or explain his genius mathematics to me. I simply said "Look, I'm not asking for a lower price, but this would be the first time I I paid full sticker price" So that apparently was very insulting to him. "Look, you DON'T negotiate with Subaru, you're getting a Lexus quality car for less than a Toyota price, you're getting the best deal you could ever get." Long story short.... I saved of $4,000 dollars by going to another dealer, and they didn't treat me like I'm some gullible moron like Paul did. Any time I see someone with an Anderson Subaru sticker on their car, I tell them my story and tell them how much cheaper you can Subaru's in Tallahassee. read more

If I was giving the service department a review it would be a five star review. Can not say enough about how wonderful the service department has been. But after dealing with one of the salesman today I would never step foot in the dealership again. The salesman was an absolute Biggest most condescending asshole I have ever dealt with. I mentioned that I did not like the ascends interior, when I shut shut the front door and went to the back to see the room, the salesman locks the door on me and tells me if I don't like it I don't need to look at it. I ask him what his problem was and he goes on to lecture me that I'm the only person that has ever walked on this dealership that did not like the ascends interior. I explain to him it was nothing personal it was just a car. He continued to berate me and I asked to speak to the manager and told them there was no reason for being an asshole and condescending to me. He then went on to say He'd would rather be an asshole than a dumb ass like me. Follows me back into the dealership when I ask him to step away for me and three times a salesman had to physically push him away from me and make him go into his office. He was talking with his buddy outside as they laugh and point and he start screaming my friend heard everything he'll take up for me, he'll take up for me. He friend was no where near us at the car and he's a liar. All he heard was two seconds of a long conversation . All I can say is I have never had anyone speak to me, treat me or act in such an unprofessional manner in my entire life. Spoke with the manager who was very nice. Seems him and his buddy is the side the dealership is going to take. Steven is the sales person, all I can say is he should have been fired! Unfortunately this ends my relationship with this dealership. Once again the service manager and service advisors is second to none. Best around! Then afterwards I'm waiting on my car and the salesman comes over to where I'm at, has the whole dealership to smoke a cigarette. He leans against a car, takes some pictures, looks like of me and my dog and stares at me The entire time trying to intimidate me. I had to go get a manager to get him away from me again. I went to Anderson Subaru for two days talking with the sales guy. The salesman agreed to throw in a hitch because i asked him (this is the only thing I asked for). When it came down to the negotiation I told the salesman that the hitch isn't on there. I was told that it will be on the other paperwork after we agree on the price. After about an hour with the manager I was good, even though I had to settle. When I asked about the hitch he said no. I spoke with the salesman and he admitted to agreeing with my request but forgot to tell the manager. They lost a sale over a hitch. You are only as good as your word and the salesman failed at that. read more

I am a Subaru loyalist. I purchased my 1998 Outback new from Lee Subaru in Fort Walton Beach but I have been coming to Anderson ever since it opened. I have seen many shifts in personnel since it has opened but the quality of the service has been top notch. I gave my car an 18 year makeover early last year with a lot of overdue service work and before that transmission work. My car somehow needed up over there after an engine failure. Mr. Ricky Stokes calls me part to inform me and snooze that he can have the motor replaced only if I buy a new E.C.U. (Modified). I explain I can flash back to the stock map I have. He insists. I refuse. He calls back and demands I have my car removed from the lot in 24 hours and that I'm going to be stuck with the bill. I so wish I could upload the voicemail so you can here for yourself how mich of a snake and con these people are and the second you don't do what they want they burn you very way they can. Please never trust this dealership with your car. Beyond having terrible customer service, this dealership is incompetent. They misdiagnosed a speed sensor problem as an ABS module problem and charged me $900 for a repair that did not fix the problem. I have brought my car in for several recalls and each time they have broken something in my car. They left the lights on in my car after a repair and when I came back to pick it up, it was completely dead. Another time the replaced my dashboard and broke the AC in the process. There seems to be no communication between the departments and they will waste your whole day giving you the run around, because no one knows what is happening within other departments. And hopefully you never have to deal with Samantha in the Service Department. She has zero care for her customers. She is not helpful and makes excuses and casts blame rather than admitting fault. I have never felt more belittle, not heard, and not helped than in my interactions with her. Please do not waste your time or money here! read more

I hoped to like Anderson Subaru. I moved to Pensacola last year while my 2019 Outback was under warranty. The first two service visits went well, and on the last visit, I was shown the condition of my tires which were recommended to be replaced. I received at least two notifications to replace them from Anderson, and in March, I ordered a new set to be installed. The day of the appointment, the technician looked at my original tires and told me I didn't need tires after all. Confused, I explained what I was told months prior and the notifications I received, and I paid $1050 to replace the tires. Time for oil change and tire rotation so I made another appointment online and indicated I would need a loaner. I made plans to leave work to leave the car at Anderson but was told by the technician when I arrived, it would only take 30mins. I explained I was at work and couldn't wait. When I went inside to complete paperwork for the loaner, there was one person waiting but I was told it would take 20 mins to complete the paperwork. I've gotten numerous loaners, and it never took 10 mins to sign the paperwork. The clerk admonished me they didn't like to use loaners for oil changes. So they drag out the process to dissuade you? I ordered an oil change, tire rotation and review of a floor mat that was dislodged and needed a screw. I work, drove 15 mins to the dealership only to see one person ahead of me, spent over $1000 for tires in March, and they can't get me in a loaner so I can get back to work? I shared my feedback with the technician before I left indicating I would reschedule. On the way back to work. I called and identified myself and asked for Billy Anderson. I was told he was on vacation. The phone clerk offered another name but I had to ask her to identify the person. I waited too long for the Asst Service Mgr and arrived at work still waiting. I won't be back. I'm disappointed twice: told two conflicting diagnoses of my tires and can't get a loaner bc I wasn't spending enough money on this visit. Serious tech training and customer service overhaul is indicated for this business. There are other choices in Pensacola. read more

Used the USAA auto buying service to get a certified price, Anderson Subaru is a certified USAA dealership, got there and they wouldn't match the locked in certified price and wanted me to pay msrp. (2016 Impreza Premium Sport) Wouldn't even go down to the average sold price for vehicle. Wasted 3 hours of our time and got zero resolution. Claims to be a USAA certified dealer just to get USAA members through the door and saying you can just use that certificate just for the % off your APR. I will say Steven and Paul Simpson meant very well in their business practices and seemed like good people, but overall satisfaction based off lack of integrity in the USAA program still results in a 1 star rating. TL/DR: if you're a USAA member don't use the auto buying service and goto Anderson Subaru, they don't really honor it. read more

Just in for a recall and oil change. $85 to change the oil just seems high. They used to wash your car afterwards but apparently that is a thing of the past. That always made the high cost seems not too bad. I drove 100 miles to get there. Maybe it is time to find someone local. Sales team will tell you anything to sell you a car and it means nothing. I am 72 years old and when I bought my car 4 years ago they informed they would be happy to come and get the car and return it so I wouldn't have to drive the 200 mile round trip. Do you want to guess how many times they have done it? Never. I asked a couple of times in the beginning and was told they couldn't possibly do that. Moral of the story is if it is not in writing it didn't happened. There were other promises but that was the big one that help us to decide to buy from them. Lesson learned. read more

What a great experience in buying a new car. My trade in was a 2004 and other is a 2003, so needless to say it's been a while since I have gone through this type of transaction. I put my salesperson through a hoop or 2 and he shined like a diamond. I purposely dress down when shopping and he didn't rush to judgments like the other 3 (yes I said 3) others at competitors did. He gave us the royal treatment regardless of what we were looking at. I was preapproved prior to shopping and he didn't know this until it was time to close me. Out of all of the salesmen we talked to, he didn't bring up budget, price or finances until it was time. If I am in the position to buy a new car every year, He would be the one to talk to. They agreed over the phone to price match another dealer's out the door price. I spent an hour driving over to finish the deal. When I get there, they change the price and it's $1000 more. Said that they couldn't do any better even though we had agreed on the out the door price already. Dishonest, stay away. Any dealership that has is still trying to push a side sticker with a bunch of non-sensical marks-ups should be a warning sign to anyone.
