My instructor Paul Labowitz was incredible and the company made the poor decision to let him go as a teacher because he wouldn't pass people who didn't do the work in class. I had to find my own externship because of how poorly managed the placement system is I refused to wait months for an unpaid trial run with no rehire guarantee. CalRegional provides no real support for job placement and months out I'm still struggling to even get an interview. This is from another comment but I'm pasting it because everyone should know this- I wish I did I wouldn't have gone here. "However I NEED to point out the fact that they certify you through AMCA. While it IS nationally accredited, your certification will NOT I repeat NOT!!!!!! hold the same weight as someone who went to an AAMA program and received a CMA title. Even people who have gone through the NHA program will have a better accreditation. Your MA certification even though we work JUST as hard will be the equivalent to a GED vs a HS Diploma in the eyes of MANY employers for whatever reason. This WILL affect your pay. It WILL affect you ability to get a job." This couldn't be more true I've been outright told by local employers they won't hire from CalRegional graduates, this program took 3k from me and functionally screwed me over. Save yourselves the hassle go somewhere else.

Let me start by saying BRC Arms employees are very polite. Truly, great people to be around. The…read moreonly complaint I have is with the classroom session of the training. Though the classroom instructor was very kind, he would often get off topic. So much so that it would break my focus on the topic at hand. About 70% of the classroom session was him rambling about topics that did not pertain to CCW topics. I'm 8 years active duty military, combat rescue. I've also taken a CCW class in Las Vegas, NV and from my personal experience, there was a lot of useful information that was left out in that classroom session that had to be made up by the RSOs on the range portion. The class was not taught sight alignment, target acquisition, safe weapon handling rules, just to name a few things. There's much more that could have and SHOULD have been covered. Luckily the RSOs were very knowledgeable and task oriented. They made quick corrections when needed and successfully qualified everyone on the range safely and efficiently. I'd say BRC Arms is fantastic for CCW refresher training but unfortunately, if you're searching for initial CCW training, I suggest searching elsewhere. All in all, it was a great experience and the employees made for a good day.
