This place had several good things going for it. The drip coffee for the longest time was exquisite. They would brew it with perfect balance, which had a full-bodied flavor, but now? It's been three consecutive times that I've came and the brew has been on the disappointing week side. If I got something else like a chai, it's been a little on the lackluster side too. They used to have some awesome baristas, and I haven't seen this one barista who made sure things ran smoothly. Yesterday, I noticed customer service really lacking. When I arrived at 11:30 AM the three baristas were all up front and had been attentive, but around 1 PM they had all drifted in back and none would pop their head out to see if anyone had come to the counter. I had stood at the counter for five minutes or so, and had thought I had made eye contact with one girl, but apparently she must have not seen me. I even said "hello" out loud, but nothing. A minute or two later a lady came in and was waiting behind me, and after a minute or two she asked if I had been waiting long. I told her the truth, and eventually a barista came out and asked me if I had been waiting long? I explained that I had, and had tried to catch someone's attention. I ordered an iced matcha and the lady behind me ordered some other drink. Guess who's came out first? I waited a few more minutes and noticed the another barista (a guy) had just started making an iced match, which apparently was my drink. Where were the girls? In the back, chatting away and giggling. I guess neither of them knew how to make an iced matcha. read more

I rarely have a need to come to Lee's Summit. However, I was here twice in a week to review some stuff in my personal life and so I decided to check out two coffee shops (the other one being Gusto). This was the second coffee shop I had tried in downtown LS, the first being Whistle Stop Coffee and Mercantile, which I quite liked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unlike Whistle Stop, Frost had a more modern design, with sleeker tables and chairs, which is great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got a regular coffee and a scone and it came out a little over $8 with tax (not including tip). Unfortunately, the coffee was not for me, I tasted some type of chemically aftertaste that I could not put my finger one but it led to an unpleasant experience. Adding milk and stevia masked it somewhat, but I could not drink it black. The scone was also dry and chalky, like it was from the day before or one of the first batches in the morning that was going a bit stale. I wanted to like this place more, and while I didn't drink the English brew, I'll steal the saying and say that Frost Coffee was not my Cup 'O Tea. read more

Lee's Summit in Missouri is such a cute little town, lot's to see. Many shops, restaurants and coffee shops. I decided to stop in this delightful little shop. It's very cozy and welcoming. The staff were very friendly, I had many questions about all of their pastries. I decided on the Danish. It was delicious, definitely baklava tasty. The coffee was also a delight. It felt like we were interrupting their social time and when we asked about the drip coffee, the young man had no idea what they were brewing, "Do you want to taste it" was his only response he could give. I ordered the Main St Breakfast Sandwich to go 3.5/5 The Ciabatta bread was so good with the flavor of the cheddar cheese and that sausage . All those things made for a good sandwich. Fun spot on a busy corner of downtown Lee's Summit. My takeaway; come for the coffee and treats, maybe skip the sandwiches? I always enjoy finding fun coffee shops when I travel, and being somewhat unfamiliar with Lee's Summit, I wanted to check this place out. It's modern and nice inside, and all the big windows help make you feel like you're a part of the busy, historic downtown happening all around. My friend and I were looking for vegetarian lunches nearby, and there really just wasn't much at all to choose from. We saw they had a grilled cheese here, and with the vibe of the place, it felt like it was going to be a good one on artisanal bread, or with some salad or something...it wasn't. My 20 oz iced latte with an extra shot of espresso and made with Oat milk.It was really good. Rich coffee flavor. My BLT, which was actually a Bacon, Spinich, and Tomato sandwich was good. They really are doing a good job of keeping everything clean. I had an almond milk latte with caramel in a size large. They only have two sizes, small and large, which is fine by me! This place is super bright, clean and welcoming. Each table had a fresh flower on it which for some reason I absolutely love. It's like they took the time to add that special touch. They also have bar seating by the counter and in front of the windows. I ordered a caramel latte and a blackberry lemon danish and they were absolutely delicious! The coffee was smooth and it wasn't overly sweet. They do have breakfast and lunch items that I would like to go back and try but I'm a sucker for blackberry anything so I had to go with the danish. I've gone to Frost many times and when I went Monday it was delicious and the staff was amazing . Today I went with my mother and had a completely different experience. The girl that took my order was very unfriendly and acted like we were bothering her. I'm a trained barista and the shots in our lattes today were not good. Very watery and tasted very different from the great drink on Monday. As someone that's worked in the coffee world, I know it can be fast paced and stressful. However if the barista is having a bad day, the customer shouldn't be able to tell. read more

Came here for the first time for a meeting. First impression, the place looked nice but the service wasn't there. Took a while for someone to greet me and they kinda acted like they were to good to serve anyone. I was asking questions about the menu (as it was my first time there) and the lady was short with me and kept looking around as if she had something else better to do. The place wasn't busy and there was no one behind me. Once my order was ready my first impression of the coffee was that it tasted watered down and my sandwich wasn't hot nor fresh at all.
