My personal experience at this location was extremely concerning and consistent. I noticed multiple times that there was no hand soap available anywhere--not just in the restrooms. That alone made me very uncomfortable about the level of cleanliness behind the counter. I've had similar experiences at their other family-run locations (the Frosty King spots on A, H & 10th, and the Tehachapi store plus their new place fire and ice or something). Like something acquired in the meat section of the local Walmart, with all the juices drawn out. That touted as "nacho fries" was merely what appeared and tasted to be plain cheese dip like that acquired at the market, choked down dry fries, as well as the "chili", which tasted like canned Dennison's hotdog chili, presented in a smallish cup masquerading as "large". Nobody wearing masks, apron, or gloves. Cheap establishment - not so much a restaurant than a dirty diner. How such a trashy place stays in business is a mystery. First off I'd like to start this review by stating it's not our first issue we've had with this location- just the most unprofessional unfortunately, yeah we've gotten our food incorrect here before however nothing that felt as if it were purposely done. Mistakes happen totally understandable but not in this case. We ordered our food, the woman was a little hard to hear and we literally got yelled at through the intercom.. when she took our order we had to repeat 3 times that we would like buffalo wings or spicy according to their menu. Simple order. We were met with the woman pictured (mind you the photo was from a PREVIOUS interaction totally different vibe clearly) and suffice to say she was not happy. We get to the window, didn't make any snide remarks just let it slide, paid and thanked her for our food. Get home to our food being bbq rather than Buffalo. Crazy right? So we take it back, while talking to her she closes the window on us- and we were refused a refund and were told "if you know how to drive go into the sidewalk" while we wait for a remake. So first the terrible attitude plus a backhanded comment like that, i understand if we were being rude or something but we were literally being understanding and patient only to be given the sad wings pictured in the other photo plus a disgruntled worker, just lovely right. What in the holy blizzards the size of Godzilla vs Kong are these? Moving from the Midwest we were looking for Dairy Queen and tripped over the King himself! With a line as long as long as this one the ice cream better be good... it was! The aesthetics of Frosty King are lacking, but the service and ice cream were phenomenal. Super friendly staff greeted us at the drive through and gave us the biggest "large" ice cream we have ever gotten. For the same price as a smaller one anywhere else! What topped off our opinion was how Frosty King actually got our candy all the way through the blizzard. We found no spots of just vanilla ice cream. I can honestly say I have never had a blizzard with candy all the way through. While the outside looks underwhelming, and we have no clue what the inside is like, we will be back for more "large" ice creams that lasted us THREE days! Happy eating Yelpers! read more

So I went here and was ordering for my entire office. There are 7 of us. I decided to order my burger first. I asked what came on the burger. The drive thru lady said lettuce tomato pickle and onion. First time coming to this restaurant/ ice cream place, it reminds me of an old Foster Freeze. Prices are reasonable and ice cream/shakes are good but the food tastes ok (frozen food) but what can you expect it's almost like a big ice cream truck. In short, this is the worst drive-thru experience I have probably had in over a decade from the food to the service. I had never been to a Frosty King, so I decided to give it a go last week. I wish I hadn't. I ordered several things from the list for my wife and I to sample, to find out what we'd like here (turns out none of it): We tried the burritos (they were buy 2 get one free). We have had microwave burritos that were better, and at the price point of 2.29 each they come nowhere near competing with burritos you can get from places like Taco Bell or Del Taco for $1-$2. They were dry, flavorless, and the contents were just a mush of pasty stuff you couldn't really identify. We tried the chili cheese fries. The chili has one particular seasoning/flavor that overpowers the taste of everything else. You can't taste the fries, and they put so little cheese you can't taste that either (not that it would have mattered with so little on top). Here is a tip for them and anyone who packages french fries; don't put them in a container that can't breathe. If you put fries in a sweaty styrofoam container and don't punch holes in it to let the air circulate, you are going to make your fries soggy (and anything else in the container) because they end up steaming themselves in there. We tried the Bacon Cheeseburger. The best part of anything we tasted was the meat in the burger - not to say it was great, it just wasn't bad. The bacon though had been cooked or stored improperly. It contained strands that were rock hard, almost like strands of wire in the bacon. We had to take the bacon off to be able to eat the burger. It was a horrible experience. We tried the french fries as a separate order. We learned the reason you can't taste the fries in the chili cheese fries is that they are under cooked and bland on their own. They have the ridged types of fries that are thicker than many other chain drive-thrus. The reason these types of fries are unpopular at most fast food places is that they are thicker and take longer to cook properly, so it slows down service. Frosty King has avoided this problem by just not cooking them as long as they need to be and serving soggy fries to their customers. Even the soda we got along with the combo tasted wrong. It had a chemical taste and lacked carbonation. Lastly, we were told Frosty King was all about the ice cream, so we got a chocolate dipped ice cream cone. When you chocolate dip an ice cream cone it is really important to make sure your ice cream is super cold, so that when it is dipped in hot chocolate and needs to cool down the chocolate so that it hardens, it can do the job right. Once again, Frosty King seems to neglect this preparation and instead serves a dripping mess right to your car window! They only provide one of those small little cone napkins, so if you enjoy having a car free from ice cream stains and sticky residue - this is one to avoid. In summary, it was all some of the worst product we have ever been served at a drive-thru. I'd like to let you know about the service as well. When I pulled up to the drive-thru I was greeted by a panhandler begging for change, that I had to ask multiple times to allow me to order. I told the drive-thru attendant that I was new and asked for anything they would recommend. They had no recommendation. I then asked if their Colossal Burger was a bacon cheeseburger (I couldn't' tell from the menu photo and there was no text description). They told me that the Colossal burger was pastrami, and I replied that I would like a bacon cheeseburger - they then said "okay so you want the colossal burger". I corrected them. We arrived at the window. Now, maybe it's just me, but I'd figure if you were going to hand someone an ice cream cone you would do it after you handed them bags full of food. It's difficult to juggle an ice cream cone and bags of food, amirite? First thing I was handed was a dripping mess of a chocolate dipped cone to contend with that immediately got all over myself and my car interior. They gave me one small cone napkin, so I reached into my glove box where I keep spares and immediately started trying to clean my clothes and car. They then handed me the rest of my food about 2 minutes later. As I was pulling away, there was a trash can on curb to the left, but it wasn't far enough to use without blocking the next person attempting to pull up to the window - so as I was trying to clean up the mess in my car caused by their dripping ice cream and throw away the napkins they didn't provide me, the next car became insistant and flashed me with their brights. Fun, right? It was an all around horrible experience. I urge anyone to never go here. Please let them fail so a place worth going to is put in their place on Ave I. Another Jack n' the Box would be better than this - and I am not a fan of Jack n' the Box. read more

5 star definitely for their ice cream. I usually order their chili cheese fries with pastrami on top and philly cheese steak sandwich. I use to love their fries however I feel like they changed the type of oil they fry it in. Burgers are good to and so is their salads it's fresh. I also order the kids hot dog and kids grilled sandwich my daughter usually wastes the hot dog they can do better and she eats half the sandwich sometimes too greasy. But the vanilla ice cream cone so rich and delicious so is the twirl one. The ice cream cone is huge. I usually order a small cone for my daughter and ask them to cut it down again cause it's too much for her but it's so delicious so is the banana split. Went through the drive thru tonight. Girl that took my order was pleasant enough. Ordered 4 piece fish basket with fries and a side of fried okra. Fifteen dollars and change. Wait in line behind two cars for 15 minutes. Get to window, and meet Mr. I-Hate-My-Job You're-All-Jerks. No greeting. Takes my $20.00 bill. Hands me the loose change on top of the bills, does NOT make sure I have it under control before letting go, and... loose change falls on the ground. I hate that any restaurant does that, as there's no room to open the car door to pick it up. So, politely, I say, "Just as a suggestion, if you put the coins in the hand first, they won't fall on the ground." Mr. F-my-life responds, "I put it in your hand, you dropped it." I replied, "No, you put the coins on top of the bills and they slid off." He continues to argue instead of apologizing, and is now glaring at me. So, I respond, "Don't worry about it. I'll never come back here." THAT'S when he decides to offer me a quarter ... but still no apology. (I declined, as it really isn't about spare change at this point, it's about crappy attitude toward the customers that pay his wages.) Got home, found he can't count either and had shorted me $1.00 on top of the lost change... AND no receipt.
