Wouldn't you think having an ice cream shop near Lake Michigan you would have it open before 4 pm? I have driven by with cars in the parking lot, worker cleaning off the tables around 12:30 pm and they were not open! If you do not want to service this area, then sell the place so that owners would have the ice cream available before 4 pm. I have taken my business to Norms! After you take your mutt to Kruse Park pretty hard not to stop at the first place with ice cream! They have doggy cups with a dog biscuit! They also server just about any flavor, style or combination of ice cream you could want. From hard to soft serve Frosty Oasis has it all. I've never had any issues getting in and out of here and it's so convenient plus my dog knows when were passing by. Lot's of room to sit back and relax with the family too. The Oasis has been here for some time and I think they will be here for a long time to come! read more

It's legit been ritual for me to get an elephant ear from here a few times weekly upon my summer visits to Muskegon. Today I receive one COMPLETELY different than any before. EXTREMELY thick. Almost like a big oddly shaped, oversized donut. Thinking maybe it was a honest mistake because of a new cook or something, I return to have it remade. Nicole, the manager, comes out super combative, telling me she can't refund me even though she acknowledges they're different this summer from what the vendor normally sends & if I want another that possibly resembles the normal style I'll have to pay.... again. Not sure how a "no refund" policy would apply to an item that's significantly different from the way you normally serve it when you didn't even bother to notify your customers of the change. So, we went to get our first turtle of the season and it was horrible. I have gotten turtles here for as long as I can remember and when they handed it out there was whipped cream and a cherry on top... there has never been any additional topping besides the hot fudge,Carmel, and salted pecans. Had they informed us of this change I would have requested that they don't put any whipped cream or cherry on because it changes the flavor dynamic. Also, I'm extremely disappointed in the change in Carmel types (the new kind has way less flavor). Sad to see the quality of the turtle go down when the price continues to rise. I truly believe my husband has ice cream radar. If there is an ice cream place within 5 miles, he will find it. As we were leaving the Kruse beach, he pulled in here and declared that it was time for an ice cream break. Frosty Oasis is you typical walk-up ice cream joint with plenty of seating in front and a very extensive menu. Both my husband and I had a difficult time on choosing what to order. The poor girl at the counter seemed to have the patience of a saint as we took a while to order. From flurries, shakes and malts to soft-serve and hard ice cream, the possibilities seemed endless. They also offer a variety of sizes depending on you treat. I think there were four different sizes available for the flurries, with the largest looking like a 7-11 Big Gulp! Hubs got a flurry and I choose a cappachino-something-or-other shake. Both were delish. However, the pricing here is really high for some reason. The flurries start at around $5 and the shakes start around that same number. I think for a shake and a flurry, we paid over $11. It seemed a bit pricey for me. Other than the pricing, everything else here was pretty good. The staff was sweet, the ice cream was good...guess that's all I need to make a fan! read more

My mom's side of the family lives in the area, and whenever we're visiting we stop by the "Frosty O" almost daily. And no - I'm not exaggerating! They are famous for their Turtle Sundae, a delectable treat that consists of soft serve vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, warm caramel, and crunchy toasted pecans. It's by far our favorite spot to have ice cream. They've got a beautiful area with picnic tables and chairs, and a playground for the kids. Let me say, it's worth the drive. I live in NC and dream of those dang Turtles often ... and though I've looked, I have yet to find a place around here that compares. read more

I'm not quite sure where their pricing strategy comes into play but at our visit there were a handful of people present, so something must be working okay for them. I noticed several different brands present at this location: Blue Bunny, Good Humor, and Hundsonville to name a few. A play area is present for the little ones. Or perhaps you need some playtime outside? Not only ice cream is present at this location, but a number of food items as well. All in all our visit was okay, but a bit pricy. read more

Frosty Oasis is my favorite ice cream shop in the Muskegon area. They serve both hard ice cream & soft serve. They have so many yummy ice cream treats on their menu. I have tried many with pleasurable results but I always go back for their turtle. They never skimp on toppings and their pecans are fresh, buttery & salty. My daughter always asks for extra pecans on her turtle. I always ask for whipped cream & cherry. If you are frugal and not fussy, ask about their mistakes. They put them in the freezer and sell them at a big discount. read more

Coming to Frosty Oasis has been a tradition for me. Every year I come to the Norton Shores area to visit my family, and many stops are made to frosty oasis. Family of three visiting from the Detroit area. This place is absolutely amazing! My wife had a hot fudge sundae, which was excellent, our son had a classic twist cone, which was great, and I had the ice cream nachos. Let me tell you, the ice cream nachos might have been the best thing I've had in YEARS! Even better, we met the owners and had a wonderful conversation. I have to say that I'm very disappointed in how frosty oasis has changed. I used to love going there even though it has always been a bit pricey but it seems to have gotten a little excessive this year. So, I went there the other day with 3 little ones and got ice cream in cups for the kids and a small cone for myself. $12 and I put a dollar in the top jar. The girl gave me the kids ice cream and then when she went to hand me mine it almost slid off the cone. She offered me a cup and when I told her that would be great, thank you she then told me it would be an additional 40 cents (has to be way more than they pay per cup) No thanks, you can keep your cup and your ice cream. read more
