Went here this weekend for a smoothie, which is apparently hard to come by in Logan. The smoothies were very solid, but possibly a little more on the expensive end vs. other spots. My new go-to smoothie bar in Logan Square. This was the perfect spot to hit up with the girls after a workout at Planet half a mile up the road. The Purifying smoothie definitely lives up to its name *harp strings*. You can taste the crisp celery along with its other fruity companions. The empanadas and arepas are too die for. While waiting for the food, I was discussing how I haven't well made arepas since a trip to PR then *BANG* out comes amazing arepas! The extremely polite owner shared with us that he hired a Venezuelan lady to make authentic arepas. SN: if you want the real deal, do it yourself or find the right person to! I don't think they missed anything while creating this menu. We ordered a large wild melon and a large strawberry/banana which came out quickly. The workers were very polite and brought us ice water while we waited. The fruits used in the smoothie tasted fresh without any type of overpowering sweetness. I noticed that the smoothies were a more fruit than ice ratio which was pretty awesome since most places will hold back on the fruit. My only complaint is I wish the largest were just a little bigger but overall we will be back again ! read more

Walked there after a visit to Palmer Square park. They have all sorts of smoothies and exotic fruit bowls which was the draw for us but we were intrigued by their other savory menu items too. The owner or supervisor was very friendly and explained it was south American inspired.... Venezuelan, if I remember right. As vegetarians I appreciated the wide selection of veggie items available such as the arepas and well be sure to come back and try them. As for the fruit items they were so good. It was obvious they are all custom made with care. It takes time and regulars know better and preorder online. We waited quite a while for our bowls tho it didnt really matter. Cute small inside.... I was coming home from a yoga class downtown and I realized this smoothie place was on my way home so I decided to check it out. Little did I know that my short detour would turn into a half hour wait. This is a tiny spot on Milwaukee Avenue and when I came there were only two people working from what I could see - probably the owners. I was greeted pretty promptly but then everyone disappeared. I had to wait 5 minutes until someone was around to take my order. I finally got a chance to order and I ordered one of the green smoothies. And it took forever. I probably waited another 15 more minutes. Keep in mind. This is a smoothie. Not a cheeseburger. A smoothie. Eventually someone cane out to give us all water because a crowd started to gather. Of people wanting smoothies and having to wait for said smoothie. Finally the smoothie arrived. And it was more like a green juice. Wasn't thick at all. Pretty flavorful but it was almost 10 bucks. Will I come back? I want to say no but I'm a lazy person who forgets to grocery shop and I hate making breakfast. So on a lazy weekend I may show up again. Maybe. I was excited to have a place to get açaí bowls close by since 24 karrots closed. Fruit Paradise doesn't open til 10 which is weird to me. As a morning commuter I'd love to pick up breakfast on the way to the train but 10 is too late for that crowd. I got an açaí bowl around noon one day. I was the only patron but they definitely get 5 stars for presentation my bowl was beautiful and yummy. Biggest downfall was there's no bowl that comes with any protein/nut butter or oats beyond a sprinkle of granola on top. You have to add that on for extra money so what looks like a $9 bowl will end up being the usual $12 by the time you make it a filling meal. read more

As a recent addict to acai bowls, I was excited to find this store in my neighborhood. I've been twice now and both times have been disappointing. On my most recent visit, the restaurant had a very unappealing odor wafting about and my arrival seemed to have confused the person working there. I ordered a bowl and after waiting about 20 minutes it finally came out. The base was super watery and tasteless, probably one of the worst acai bowls I've ever had. I really wanted to like this place, but if I can make my own bowl at home that tastes better, costs less, and takes me less than 5 minutes to put together, I have zero incentive for ever coming back here. read more

I don't recommend. I ordered smoothies and she told me 45 mins which I felt was very long for only two smoothies... I called ahead of time before I left to be on my way so I guess I arrived before the owner. I was sitting outside in my car waiting when I looked up to see the lady walking from the target down the block with a bunch of Simply juices and Minute Maids I'm guessing that's what she used for my smoothies. Then when I finally received my "LARGE" smoothies that I paid atleast $27 for I found chunks of maybe spinach I could say inside of my STRAWBERRY BANANA smoothie. When I took it back in the lady told me it was from the leaves of the strawberry. Like WHAT EW! Very much lazy service. They don't even cut the leaves off the "fresh" strawberries. The quality and quantity are both absurd. I honestly don't think any of their products are fresh. I got an açaí bowl once and it was pre-melted/pre-frozen/pre-made (don't recommend either) with such a dry place I would expect things to be fresh and made with love. Considering it's a family business or small business I would expect a little more TLC. Whatever I stopped going here because I was sick of wasting my money. This place was pretty good! I am a huge acai bowl fan so I was very happy when my friend told me about this place. The restaurant is super cute and they even have little terrariums made by a local artist that you can purchase. There was only one other couple in there when I arrived. Unfortunately, it still took over 20 minutes for me to receive my one bowl. Don't get me wrong - the bowl was amazing - but it took way too long to receive. I would recommend this place. I was pretty surprised to walk past this establishment's window and see them advertising empanadas! And I was even more surprised that they were delicious, given that this is a smoothie place. The empanadas aren't listed on their website or online menu, only in the shop. Only 4 types of empanadas though: I had the chicken one and the garlic, spinach, and cheese one. The dough was different from other empanadas that I've tried, softer and not very firm, which would make it hard to eat on the go. I ate these in house with a fork so this wasn't an issue for me. The flavors were excellent, with fresh ingrediants, and I would recommend giving them a try. read more
